Short YouTube monologue (Anwar White) responding to a listener (Gloria Sita) about "situationships." The speaker argues that situationships are not about love but control: partners remain to exert power, dangle commitment, and disrespect women who value commitment. The speaker calls such dynamics abusive and interprets male behavior as knowingly withholding commitment to maintain control.

Gloria Sita said, why did my situationship, who I broke it off with and haven't been intimate with in months, get upset with me when I jokingly told him that I'm with someone else and expecting a child? Because the one thing that you have to understand is that situationships, they're not about love, they're about control. And when he knows that someone else is with you and basically has a child inside of you, no shade, he knows that he doesn't have control anymore. That's, that's the gag of this. When you're in a situationship, you think that this is actually love. Being in a situationship is the most disrespectful thing that a man can do for a woman. Because women really do appreciate and value commitment. Men don't, so. And men know this. And so they dangle the carrot like, you know, on top of you or in front of you. Very disrespectful. People don't understand that. Like situationships, like, they just think they in their head, they think it's a full fledged relationship. If you're in a situationship right now, I want to let you know that that man is disrespecting you and it's abusive.
Okay? He doesn't love you. If he loved you, he would have committed to.
