A short YouTube clip (Anwar White) advising women of color on how to pick coaches. The speaker says top coaches not only tell you what to do but explain why — offering both external (what will happen) and internal (what it means for your self-development) feedback. She emphasizes that Black/brown women face layered needs, so coaches should address both external outcomes and internal growth to provide clarity and lasting results.

Patra B. Said, you are one of the best coaches on social media. Thank you, girl. I appreciate that. So many great coaches out here. And also there are a lot of not so great coaches. Yeah. Here's how you know if the coach is really good or not. Not only are they saying something, but they're giving you the explanation of the why. So, hey, you should do this, that, and this and that. And here's why. Now, there are some coaches that are going to give you, like the external version. Like when you do this, this is what's going to happen. This is what the guy's going to do. And then there are also people that are going to give you the internal version. Not just what this guy's going to do, but what this means for you and your own self development. You want to focus on the coaches that are giving you both the external and the internal feedback. That's one of the things I try to do, especially if you're a black or brown woman. There are so many different layers here and if they're not hitting all of them, the advice actually isn't going to give you as much clarity as you need. You'll be doing things and not understanding why you need to do them internally for yourself, not just for your results. There's a difference.
