Short transcript excerpt where a speaker discusses salary expectations and inflation, arguing that 'six figures' (≈$100k) no longer suffices in large expensive cities and that many people are effectively seeking closer to $250k to match current cost-of-living.
Cassie said, what salary range should we shoot for? Well, a lot of the girls are talking about, I need someone with six figures. You have to understand, with like, six figures was cute in like 1995 and like 2000, but there's been serious inflation. And so what most of you all are actually looking for when you say six figures is not 100k, it's actually closer to like 250k, especially in those bigger cities. 100k in a big city like New York is.
Like 100k. In the Bay Area is poverty line, no shade.
So.
We'Re gonna have to think about that.
