Black women are often socialized to live for others' expectations, which kills their ability to trust themselves in dating. Without self-trust, you can't be vulnerable, banter, or flirt. You have to build a new identity based on what you actually want.
Yeah. And it's. And here's the thing.
I want to follow up this by saying the way that many of us are raised, it is to fall in line, to just do what we're told to do by our parents. And so for many of us, especially if you are a black woman, what will happen is you have your identity, and the way that you're thinking is based on what somebody else is telling you how to think. Right. And so you will, especially if that's oftentimes it's your mother. Right. And so part of this experience in dating is about creating this new identity for yourself so that you can trust yourself instead of waiting for your mom to tell you whether it's okay or not.
Okay. So I'm here to confirm this. I'm here to validate all of this.
You cannot be successful in dating if you don't know how to trust yourself.
If you don't know how to trust yourself, you won't trust other people. If you don't know how to trust yourself, you're not going to be comfortable being vulnerable to deeply connect with the men. If you don't know how to trust yourself, you won't be able to banter and flirt with men.
