Short YouTube monologue by Anwar White arguing that people should "know their lane" in dating — i.e., recognize the types of partners who genuinely suit and value them. The speaker recommends dating teachers (patient, educated, lead by example) based on personal experience and urges listeners to choose partners who already like and support them rather than chasing unavailable types.
Koolmart said, why do you like teacher men? Because they're patient. Because they are oftentimes very educated and curious and make great fathers.
My partner is an amazing father. I've learned a lot from him. Like, girl, you know, when you're black, oftentimes you will parent in the way that your community, your culture and what you see, that's how you do it. And just him, he's never said, don't do this. Right. He always just, like, leads by example, which is what most teachers will do. Right? And so, like, I just learned and become a better parent and a better man and a better person because of him. Yeah. But that's why I like teacher men. That's been my lane, girl.
Always dated teachers. Honey, you got to know what your lane is. Honey, you got to know what is your guy. What is. Like, what is your guy? You. You get into the tech guys, the engineers, girl.
The red guy. The redheaded guys love you, girl. Right? You, the. The buff guys love you. You got to figure out what your lane is and lean into it, honey. A lot. A lot of y' all are trying to try out different lanes. You gotta like who likes you. You gotta figure out, out of the people who love you and like you and live for you, which one is the best out of them. Y' all are trying to find someone that's not checking for you and try to make them like you. That doesn't work.
Yeah. So I'd want to offer that. Whoever is available to receive that, that is for you.
