Emotional maturity doesn't happen by itself. When you throw tantrums, get jealous, or abandon people because your needs aren't met, you're acting like a toddler. Replace those reactions with thoughtful communication and solutions instead.

So I'm going to say this in the most respectful but disrespectful way that I possibly can. And the reason why I say that, because even though I'm going to speak with the energy of respect, some folks are going to receive this as disrespect. But that also drives the point of the day when I talk about emotional maturity. Now, emotional maturity is something that does not happen automatically. You have to be very intentional about your level of emotional maturity. And at the base of what that is, that is being able to understand that you are not going to always get your way. Emotional maturity is when you can still be positive after a negative event, where you get better at not taking things personal because you understand That everything is not going to go your way. You are not going to like everything. But some of you, soon as something doesn't go your way, as soon as you disagree with something, you throw a temper tantrum. Your inner child starts to act up. And if you think about when we were young, I'm talking about true— when we're talking about toddlers, okay, before you got all cool and sophisticated and degreed up and reared up and moneyed up. When you were a toddler, most children, if not all, when they wanted something, when we wanted something and we didn't get it, we cried, right? And if one of our friends, we got a little older, had something that we didn't have, we wanted it. And if we couldn't get it, we became jealous. It was just natural, right? Um, you would get mad and, uh, go to your corner or take your toy, right, and not want to play with You know, you remember those days if you got mad at somebody when you were younger, you didn't want to play with them anymore. Got in middle school, high school, then when you got mad at somebody, then you start talking about them, right? And so this process of growing up is not unnatural for humans to disagree, get jealous, not like each other for certain things, and that's fine at a certain age. But some of you are way past grown, and every time something goes against what you want it to be, you just throw the whole relationship away, or, uh, you throw the whole opportunity away, or you throw the whole conversation away. And it's like, grow up, learn to use your words, communicate what you want to say, what your perspective is. Lead with trying to get a solution or understanding or create a positive outcome. And in the event that it doesn't, be okay with it. Because just because you don't like what someone said doesn't mean that you don't have to not like them, right? And just because somebody, right, doesn't do things the way that you would like them to be Uh, to be done doesn't mean that like something's wrong with them. And so when I see people get emotionally charged and get off balance and energy be off, a lot of times it's rooted in that inner child acting up and throwing a temper tantrum, and you don't even realize that's what you're doing. And that's why when I say when emotions are high, logic tends to be low. And so I would like for whoever this message is for today Is to start using your words. Realize that the inner child is real and emotional maturity is a thing, and to take step-by-step processes to get better, to improve it, to get more mature. And by the way, the emotional resilience masterclass happens next Wednesday. You can click on the link above. It can help you with this. And even if you don't feel like this message is for you. Developing your emotional resilience and protecting your peace in 2023 is very important. And so I'm gonna have that conversation next Wednesday. I hope to see you there. Peace.
