Jealousy mixes love and hate: you admire what someone else has but resent not having it yourself. The speaker argues it doesn't have to be destructive. Channel that energy into learning what made them successful instead of tearing them down.

Let me run something by you real quick. Jealousy is a cold emotion because it's confusing, and it's because it's a combination of love and hate, right? And that's why it becomes confusing. It's like you love what you see, but you hate that it's not you doing it. And that's where jealousy comes from. It's, it's, it's being envious of what you're seeing, because if you didn't love it or like it or have interest in it, you wouldn't even be paying it no attention. And so when you look and you see who's doing it or how it's getting done, it creates a level of jealousy. But jealousy could be good if you have emotional intelligence and you redirect that energy to be like, wow, this has my attention, I really love what's happening. Instead of hating, being envious, being jealous, you start learning how to get to the thing that's gotten your attention in the first place. And then to top that off, we end up projecting, right? Something called projection bias, where we start projecting out how we feel whatever we're looking at should be handled, because that's not how you would do it if you were in that space. And so you can see quickly how all of these different emotions create jealousy. But I'm here to tell you today and to free you up that jealousy does not have to be a bad thing, because we all experience it one way or another. It's been happening since we were yay high, grasshopper. Most people don't have enough self-awareness to admit it, but if you honest about how you feel when you feel envious towards something, remember it's just a combination of love and hate. And you love what you're seeing, but you hate you're not doing it. But here's the thing, you're not doing it yet. If you redirect that energy and stop trying to tear down the person that's in that position and start focusing on how you can get there, that personal freedom I'll be talking about will be yours right before you know it. Peace.
