Peace, fam. DB Bedford here, the EI Guy, bringing you that emotional intelligence both personally and professionally. You know, I stay juiced when I come on here because I figured out how to leverage emotional intelligence into the financial markets. A couple of things I want to cover today before I show you the trade of the day. One, there's a common question that's asked to me: can I trade before I go to work? And the answer is yes. And I'm going to show you how that's done. Another thing is people hear me talk about these contract sizes and these points. So let me give you a kind of an idea of what you'll be learning in the upcoming 5-day trading challenge. But when I talk about the points and contract size, there are 4 major indexes that we trade on. That is the S&P 500, the NASDAQ, the Russell 2000, and the Dow Jones. Each one of those operate in their own lane. So, and we have 2 different levels that we can operate from. So if you're operating on the E-mini where I'm at, then the S&P 500 and the Russell 2000, the one you see me trading on the most, is $50 a point. If you do the NASDAQ, that's going to be $20 a point. And if you do the Dow Jones, that's going to be $5 a point. And the point is going to be a reflection of the movement of the market, whether it's going up or down. So if you look at the news, something like CNBC, and you see that it says the Dow has moved 70, 80, 100 points, or NASDAQ has moved 200 points, each one of those points, if you captured any part of it, right, would that value that I just gave you associated with is how you would add up your money. If you're on the micro e-minis, and this is exciting because for the first time ever, those of you that have low capital and don't really have a lot of capital to get started, you can come in on the micro e-minis and the S&P 500 and the Russell 2000 would be $5 a point, which means that every time it moves, it would go $5 in your favor or against you, depending on, uh, if you were right or wrong about the trade. The NASDAQ is $2 and the Dow Jones is 50 cents. So this gives you an opportunity to really test the market without risking a lot of capital. This is what's cool about it. So say you own the S&P 500 and you are trading $5 a contract. Well, once you get the hang of it, you can buy as many contracts as you want. So you can buy 2 contracts, 3, 4, 5, and then it just multiplies. So if you buy 5 contracts, now you're trading at $25 a point. Get 4 points in a trading session, you just made a quick $100 from the comfort of your own home. But you can see the point. You can scale up or down as much as you want. I just want to give you an idea of what that looks like. 4 major indexes. S&P 500, Russell 2000, NASDAQ 100, Dow Jones. Each one of them have different values. And remember, you can buy as many contracts as you want. Because I'm using 4 contracts, that is $200 a point either in my favor or against me. So if I'm wrong about a trade, it's going to go against me. But that's why we put those stop losses in place so it doesn't go all the way against you. And in regards to the question about can you trade before you go to work, absolutely. It's just going to depend on what time you have to be to work and how much Preparation you have to do to get there. I'll show you real quick how I grabbed $400 this morning in 8 minutes, which would give me plenty of time to take a small profit and get on about my business and get to work if I had to go to work today. All right, so the time is 6:51, and we had to wait a little bit to get a trade, uh, because we had to give the market time to kind of pick a direction. And so I got into this trade at 24:04. Uh, right now I have my stop at 2403. Right now the market is trading at 2408. So the first thing I want to do is I want to grab 2 points because, uh, I took a trade earlier and I think that I was down a point or 2. So that probably, uh, breaks me even. And so now I want to see if the momentum will keep going and we can get— capture those 5 points that we like to do on a day-to-day basis. So what we look at is the indicators and we see that the MACD has a pretty straight line up and the histogram is pretty much pushing up. And the candle previously was driven by the bulls, meaning this candle was solid with no wicks, which was a good indicator that this next candle may continue that momentum. I mean, we never know, but that's what we kind of count on. We can see that there's still movement. So we want to try to capture points along the way. Right now it's at $24.09. We want it, and we are at 2406. So we want to try to go up and capture a couple of more points. So we'll go up to 2407. Well, actually, we'll go to 2408 because this has been going on for a minute. I got into this late, so I don't know when this is going to turn around. And so again, the goal here is to just to be able to scout points when you can. The market, you know, can, can go back and forth at any given time. And so it's just really important when you see an opportunity to grab it. Now, you know, there are other ways of capturing profits in the market. I mean, you could just let this run, you know, until it actually reverses and not be concerned about the in-between back and forth. That's not the strategy that I subscribe to. I like to scalp my money in the moment. And one can always debate, is there money left on the table? And, you know, a lot of times that's probably true. We all know that it's very challenging to predict market movement because we never know how long the market is going to go into a particular direction. Now, I think it's a little bit different when you're going for long-term trading because historically we know that the market will progressively go up over a longer time period, right? Meaning months, years, and sometimes even days. When we're day trading, at any given moment the market can basically change its mind, right? And so as you can see here, right, you see how it's starting to turn red, which means the market is turning around. So, and that right there is a perfect example what I'm talking about. And so you move your position so that you capture points. So I got $400 out of that particular trade. So you go to the activity, and I got into that trade at 6:47 is when I seen the opportunity, and I got out the trade at 6:55. So that is basically 8 minutes. Now the reason why— and that is basically 3 points. Now I was down a couple of hundred. I think I was down 1 point right here. So that just cleared what I was down and now made me up. So say you have to leave to go to work at 7 o'clock, and I know some of you have commutes and you have to leave much earlier than that. And so this probably wouldn't work for you. The answer, could you trade before you go to work, probably wouldn't work for you because the market opens at 6:30. Some people asked, could you trade in the car? I think you definitely could trade in the car, uh, with your laptop up and, uh, your hotspot on. You definitely could trade in the car, especially if you're not the one driving. Now, if you're the one driving, then you wouldn't be able to do it. Let's just say you have the time in the morning before it's time to go to work, and you don't have to go to work till after 7. You know, you would have had the opportunity to catch that trade at 6:47 and get out at 6:55 and then capture $400 and a little bit more if that was your only trade. So for me, my work is a training, right? So what I would be doing, I would do this before I would have to go to a training. And usually my training starts about 9 o'clock and I would have to get on the road around, you know, 7:15, 7:30 to get there. So for somebody like myself, I would be looking at my PowerPoint, making sure everything is straight. before I get on the road because that's what my work consists of. I'd make sure that my bag is packed and everything I need to get on the way. And I could do that while I'm waiting on the trade. 'Cause you know our theme, we like to take small profits and get on about our business for the day. That's my response to those who ask, can I trade before I go to work? You definitely can, but you would have to time it accordingly based on what your morning routine is. And when you're scalping, that's to your advantage. So you're just waiting on a quick opportunity to grab a few points. Snatch some profit and going about your business for the day. Stay tuned. I am currently working on the 5-Day Trader Challenge.
