My 7-Figure Client Audit Process (That You Can Use Today)

Emily Williams walks through her 8-area life and business audit used with private clients: career, finances, relationships, health, lifestyle, personal growth, legacy, and spirituality. She uses a 0-to-20 rating scale and a four-step framework for each area. Real examples include a client who uncovered money blocks and sold an $18,000 package.

So today I'm taking you through my exact strategic audit process that I use with my private clients. This is a process that I've perfected over the last 10 years or so, working with ambitious women all around the world on accelerating the path to their dreams. For some of them, that's building a bigger business. Others, it's making more money. Some want to attract or manifest something into their life like a relationship, or they want to shift their mindset. They want to uncover the blocks that are holding them back. Regardless, this is going to be a really incredible process for you if you find yourself in this place where you're saying things like, you know, I feel like I'm missing something. I wish someone would just give me the steps to take because then I could hit the ground running. If you feel like you're in that messy middle, or you're in the in-between, or you're meant for more, This is the perfect process for you. So we're going to look at 8 different areas of life because I truly believe we are whole people. We can't just look at one area like career or business. We have to look at the whole picture and see how it all is coming together or not if you're in that place where it feels like things aren't working. So we're going to look at career and professional success, finances, relationships, health and well-being, lifestyle and environment, personal growth, legacy and impact, and spirituality and meaning. Now, we've included a handy PDF for you. If you look at the links below this video, you can download it and you can type directly in it as we go throughout this process together. Otherwise, you can pull out a journal and a pen, whatever works for you. I actually have my computer here so I can give you some real-life examples, stories like my client Kate, who recently uncovered that she has lots of money blocks. And so we shifted those during this process and she literally sold an $18,000 package within the next week. I also have a client named Jane. She uncovered that she has a lot of family blocks, a lot of generational programming within her family that's holding her back from going to the next level in her business and really draining her. So we worked through that and now she's able to create so much more freedom and spaciousness to actually devote to her business and what she really wants to create. I also had a client named Courtney recently uncover that there are certain areas in her relationships that are really thriving, but in other areas things aren't going so well. And so she knows now to put attention towards those people in her life because she wants to improve those relationships. Now, these are just some examples that have been coming up over the last few weeks. I've done this process, like I said, for over a decade, and it's something that's super powerful. Again, if you are someone who knows you're meant for more, but you're too close to your life, your business, your career, your bank account to actually see what's holding you back. And the truth is, this is really the first step to you attracting and manifesting everything that you want, because unless we have clarity and we can see our blind spots, or the things that are holding us back, it's very challenging to transform them. It's also very imperative that you know exactly what you want in order to call it in. So this process will help you get clarity and also give you those action steps that you're craving to hit the ground running and create some real change and momentum in all these areas of life. So let's go ahead and dive in. Like I said, use the link below and click and get your free PDF and you'll be able to write in that directly and go through this process with me. So the first category we have here is career and professional success. I always start with this one because a lot of the women who I work with are entrepreneurs, they're founders, they have big ambitious visions when it comes to their work in the world, and they have a purpose to serve, to impact, and like I said, to just do big things. Now, one of the things I haven't mentioned yet is that one of the components of this process is you rating yourself out of 20. So, on a scale of 0 to 20. Now, most tools that you might have seen previously or used rate you out of 10. Now, I made this change years ago when I realized the women coming to me were super powerful. They were already doing big things in the world. They were already accomplished. They were ambitious. They were, like I said, just already doing huge things. And so rating themselves out of 10 was a little tricky because oftentimes it would be 8 out of 10, 9 out of 10, because they were already awesome. So what I realized is we need to graduate you to the next level and rate you out of 20. It's like you're now becoming a professional, right? Whereas before you might have been an amateur, now you're a professional. And it's a very different question when you say, where do I rate myself out of 20? than out of 10. So that's the first step in all these different categories. So for career and professional success, ask yourself, how do I feel right now on a scale of 0 to 20? How are things going? Am I happy in my career? Do I feel fulfilled? Do I feel like I'm doing work that I love? Am I excited to get out of bed every day? Am I excited to go to work? Am I excited to work with the clients who I'm working with on a regular basis? So rate that honestly, and then we'll answer the rest of those questions. Again, you can use the PDF below, pause this, write, take your time, and come back to it as we move through the categories. So, for example, you might rate yourself 12 out of 20. And then we move on to the next part of the table, which is what's actually working for you. So this is where I want you to identify as many things as possible that are actually working. So maybe right now you're in the right industry, you just don't like the role that you're in. Okay, so put in terms of what's working: I'm in the right industry, I love the clients who I'm working with. I have one client who said, I have clients who I genuinely value, I'm doing work that I'm good at, I have flexibility, I love the strategic and creative parts of my business. Okay, then we move on to what could be improved. So this might be, for example, that you're still too involved in the day-to-day. You're doing things that aren't in your zone of genius. You're frustrated that your business hasn't grown to the level that you know is possible. You're not charging the rates that you want to be charging. You're not making the money you want to be making. Okay? Then we get clear on what would actually make it a 20 out of 20. Now, this is one of the most important components because like I said previously, we oftentimes are too close to our dreams, to our work, to our life to see what changes would make a big difference. I've had clients come to me and say, I'm scared to do this process with you because I'm worried I'm going to have to change everything. But in reality, most of the time, the biggest difference is not a whole life overhaul. It's simple tweaks. I like to say turning the dial where you make simple tweaks in your life that actually result in a big difference. So, for example, with one of my clients, she says that she could hire an additional person in her company to take over some of the things that she shouldn't be doing. Now, regardless of whether you're skilled at hiring, we can see that that's just one step. It's not her saying she needs to close down the whole business. She doesn't need to burn it all down. It's simply I see a gap in my team. And hiring would make a big difference. Maybe for you, it's going for a promotion. Maybe it's creating more boundaries within your work and changing the hours that you work. So again, you answer for yourself, what would make it a 20 out of 20? And then once we have that clarity, we can add in the action steps, the specific things that we can do in order to get the results that we just described we want. In order to be a 20 out of 20? So again, maybe it's hiring that person. The first step might be putting together a job description or evaluating where you're spending too much time at the moment that needs to go to somebody else. Or maybe it's simply, I have a lot of people want to raise their price, their prices. So maybe it's simply deciding on the new rate and putting it out there. So that's career and professional success. Let's keep going. Now we have everyone's favorite category, financial security and freedom. Now, this is all about money, obviously, and how you feel when you think about money and your bank account, your current reality with your finances, etc. So maybe you rate this 11 out of 20, like one of the ladies who came to me recently. In terms of what's working, she said, I know how to make money. I've created significant income before, and I'm capable of creating opportunities. Her financial life is stable. She has investments. She feels organized with her finances, and she feels like she now has a level of knowledge that she didn't have previously from working with somebody who is a financial advisor. Okay? Maybe for you, in terms of what's working, is you're making more money than ever before. Or maybe you are running your own business and you are making money working for yourself, and that's a huge win. Maybe you have reduced the debt on your credit cards. Doesn't matter. Whatever comes through for you, write it down. What could be improved? This person said, I still have moments where I make decisions from, should I really spend that? And she has a lot of mindset blocks when it comes to money that hold her back. She feels like she wants to stop having to justify every single thing that she purchases. Another person came to me and wanted to raise her rates, but she wasn't feeling confident enough to do that. So write down what could be improved. Then move on to the next section, which is what would make it a 20. So another client said having enough money to travel first class whenever she wants, stay in beautiful hotels, have help at home, have more experiences with her family, be able to give generous gifts to friends and family, investing in growing her business. Funding things she cares about to make them all feel normal and make all those things feel normal versus a special occasion. So maybe overall you want to create a new normal when it comes to finances. So write down what would make it a 20 for you. Maybe it's being able to purchase a new home with more space for your family. Maybe it's being able to send your kids to a better school. Maybe it's more help around your house or in your business, in your life. There's no right or wrong answer. And then we move into the action steps. So what are the initial action steps that are gonna get you closer to your vision? I mentioned one of my clients who recently sold an $18,000 package, and that was a huge deal for her. When we spoke, she initially thought about selling it for $10K. Then we went through this process, we uncovered some of the things that were holding her back, some of the limiting beliefs, We also looked at the specific package itself and everything that was included, and she could see the immense value there. And so she went off and she sold that package. Maybe that's one of your initial action steps. You create something new, or you fine-tune what you already have, or you simply put a different price tag on it. You reach out to your clients, you have conversations, and you make that sale. Maybe for you, an initial action step is opening up a savings account. Maybe for you it's researching the trip that you want to take to Italy and not immediately searching by cheapest option. So you get to decide. Then we move on to relationships. So this is a big one and it's a little bit different. So you might have a variety of different relationships in your life. So I often say relationship with self is one, relationship with friends is another, family. So you get to decide how you want to categorize this. Some of my clients choose to create multiple categories and then rate each of those individually. So for example, maybe right now your social life is thriving and you're actually a 17 out of 20, but your family life is— needs some work. Maybe you don't see your family as often as you'd like. Maybe there's a strained relationship there, and that one is more like a 10 out of 20. Maybe again, your relationship with self is thriving, and so that one doesn't need as much work, and that's an 18 out of 20. So that's how I recommend you break this down, and then for each of those, you can evaluate using the questions below. So what's currently working? Again, go through each of those categories. So one of my clients said, "I have a strong partner." They're in a marriage, and their husband is super supportive of their vision. They do a lot of things together. They're very compatible. They have a great relationship in terms of. communication. They feel like they're on the same team. She also said in terms of her friendships, she feels like she has people she can count on. However, that category was a little bit lower. So when we looked at what could be improved, she realized she's not spending enough time with her friends. And the thing that's really cool about this process, in my experience and in my opinion, is you get specific about what would feel really aligned for you. So, for me, I'm more of an introvert and I don't actually need tons of time with friends. And so, for me, if I have once a quarter going on a trip and visiting friends because a lot of my friends are all around the world, that would really fuel me. If there's somebody local who I have coffee with a couple times a month, that would also really fuel me. And so, the stage that I'm at in my life, also being 8 months pregnant at this point, is very different than say when I was in college or high school or whatever it may be. And so, different stages of your life require different relationships. And also, different personality types require different relationships. My husband is much more social than me. And so, his requirements are different. So again, consider what's important to you as you're going throughout these categories. Maybe under what could be improved, one of my clients said, I want to stop spending so much emotional energy On relationships that aren't serving me. Oftentimes with ambitious women, one of the things that we do is we look at and evaluate whether their relationships are actually serving them. Are these relationships that are supportive? Are these people who are cheerleaders of their vision and what it is that they're creating in the world? Or are they Debbie Downers? Are they people that are energy suckers? Those energy vampires, and then you know what relationships to spend less time on. And this can be scary for people. I mean, to be honest with you, I've had clients come to me and realize that their marriage needs a lot of work. I've had people end relationships after going through coaching and this process and my strategic advisory work. And that's not something that I'm always setting out to help people with, but if there's a relationship that's not serving you and you've given it your all and it's incredibly incompatible with where you're going and the vision you have for your life, then we want to look at that and see what can be changed so that it is more aligned. So ask yourself, what would make your relationships a 20? So friendships. Somebody in my practice said a small circle of deeply aligned relationships, regular quality time with my partner, Friendships that feel easy and reciprocal. And then also the freedom to step back from dynamics that no longer fit. That's huge, that permission piece. So maybe for initial action steps, you put one relationship ritual on the calendar each week. Maybe it's date night with your spouse. You book the babysitter in advance. You make it non-negotiable. Maybe you have, just like me, girlfriends around the world, and so you plan an annual trip with them, or you commit to traveling quarterly to visit one of them. Or maybe you want to create a bigger social circle in your current state or location, city, and so you put in more of an effort to do so. You join local groups. Okay, so you get the idea. All right, and when you do that, like I said, I've already given you some examples, but you realize what actually fuels you and what takes away from you, and you're able to, again, change, turn that dial, so to speak, to create that result that you are craving. The next category is health and wellbeing, another one that we can break apart. So this could be mental health as well as physical health. You get to decide how you do this. You can put it into one category or you can break it out. So for example, one of my clients said she would rate her physical health a 13 out of 20. So she just had a baby. The things that are working is she slowed down, she's taking care of herself and her child. But what's not working is she still feels like she's feeling really heavy, she's feeling really sluggish because she's tired. She's feeling like she doesn't have the strength that she once had. She hasn't gotten her energy back fully. So, obviously, that will come in time, but it's something that's a big focus for her. So, for me right now, I would probably rate my health similarly. 8 months pregnant, feeling pretty big, and not sleeping well, all the things. And so, I know that right now in this stage of life, things are going to look a little bit different than they will, say, 6 months to a year from now. And, I mention that because I never want you to judge yourself for where you're at right now. It truly is just where you're at. And, know that things can transform and change. And, that's exactly why we're doing this today. And, it's also why we continuously do it within my practice with my private advisory clients because things change all the time. And so, I actually recommend that they do this quarterly and go through and just see, okay, well, how have things started to transform? How has my health improved? When I've been doing all this mindset work with Emily, how have things transformed in terms of the way that I'm thinking, the thoughts that I'm allowing into my life, the things that I'm attracting? It's very powerful when you continuously evaluate, and people often say that one of the biggest keys to success is awareness, and that's what this process does for you. So a little bit of a tangent. So maybe in terms of what could be improved. One of my clients said, I want my health to be something I protect rather than something I squeeze in when there's time. So, she just joined a gym and yet she's finding herself only doing strength training once a week when actually the desire is to do it 3 times a week. Or maybe you're someone like me where for whatever reason, you always forget to take vitamins. So, you need a process in place. To make sure that becomes a non-negotiable, or maybe you want to hire a physical trainer. Maybe you want to join a class. Maybe you want to start to do yoga, Pilates, whatever it may be. So get clear on what would make it a twenty, and then what are the initial action steps that you can take? I guarantee there's something. Even when I had no money whatsoever, I was living in London, working as a nanny. I realized I needed to get clear on my desires, and so I wrote a list. Similar to what we're doing now. And one of the things was I wanted to take yoga. And yet, in my mind, I thought, oh, it's too expensive. I can't afford it. But I decided to research it anyway. We were living— I was living in Richmond. I was actually— I think I was single at the time. I can't remember. But I was living in Richmond, which is South London. And I found that there was this yoga studio offering this special flash pricing for a pack of, I don't know if it's 5 or 10 classes for yoga, and it was totally affordable for me. And so I did it and it became part of my normal routine. And I taught my nervous system and my body that it was safe to spend that money. And actually it was imperative to spend that money because of what it did for me physically, mentally, spiritually. And it became a big part of my life. In my 20s, I had a huge yoga practice. I was doing yoga all the time. So again, even if something comes up on your list for action steps where you're like, I don't know if I can afford this, I don't know if I have time for this, bypass that thought. Keep connected to the desire and the thing that you know you want and that's going to make a difference and follow that and see what opens up for you. Okay, the desire is meant for you and possible. All right, perfect segue into our next category, lifestyle and environment. So one of my clients said that she's a 15 out of 20 here. And by the way, lifestyle and environment, as you'll see on the PDF, this includes your home, but it also includes leisure, how you're spending your time. Are you traveling? Are you doing things that fuel you? And so you could break it up into 2 different categories. So this person, like I said, 15 out of 20. She loves her home. She enjoys travel. She's created access to experiences that she only once dreamed about. She's also much clearer about what she actually enjoys in life. But what could be improved? There is still too much work and not enough true leisure. There are unfinished house projects because they're renovating. There's a lot of clutter, a constant feeling of there's something I should be doing, and that steals her spaciousness. So, what would make it a 20? She said a home that feels completely finished and beautiful, regular travel that she doesn't have to think about or worry about. More spontaneous fun, protected family time with herself and her spouse, enough space in her schedule to enjoy life while she's living it. And then we asked, well, what are your initial action steps to make this a 20 out of 20? And she said, finish the lingering home project, schedule one experience purely for pleasure, and create a recurring block of genuinely work-free time. Very clear. Again, oftentimes we're too close to what it is that we want to create to see the simple steps that are going to get us there. And one of the things that I find with highly ambitious women like you and me, business owners, female founders, professionals, is that we're often so focused on one area that we forget about other areas of life that will make a big difference and fuel us. For example, for me with travel, when I did this work initially, I realized how imperative it is for me to travel. And so I give myself that permission, even if it's not convenient, even if I have kids, which I do now, I give myself that permission because I know what it gives back to me and also what it gives back to my business and my work in the world. All right, next category. This is number 6, personal growth. So this is essentially learning and development. Are you continuously growing through your own education, self-improvement, improvement, personal challenges? Do you feel like you're reaching your goals and the achievements that you set for yourself? So I had a client that said she was a 16 out of 20. She said, in terms of what's working, she's deeply committed to growth. She invests in herself. She reflects. She learns. She's willing to look at the patterns that she has. What could be improved? She said, I want to stop setting goals just because they look impressive. I thought that was so beautiful and also really raw and amazing for her to admit that, that there's a piece of her that is centered around the ego and achieving so other people see what she's achieved. Or even oftentimes I work with clients where they're setting goals based on what they think they should want. And you have to ask yourself, would I still be moving towards this if no one saw it? So she said in terms of what would make it a 20 for her, feeling deeply self-trusting, clear about what I want next, willing to pursue a bigger life without feeling like I need to prove it to anyone. Maybe for you, you actually haven't been doing much personal development. And so you want even this process, you want to do more things like this, or you want to take more classes, or you want to do more courses, or work with a mentor, or attend the retreat. I had a client years ago talk to me about how she discovered this retreat, this local retreat, and it was going to be, I think, around $3,000. She was in Australia, so Australian dollars, and she was hesitating. She didn't know if she could do it. It was a lot of money. And we talked about the pros and the cons, and I could tell she really needed this. She really wanted to do it. And so ultimately, she allowed herself to do it and move forward, and it was one of the biggest shifts for her, blessings for her. She created lifelong friends from that community. It opened up So many doors for her. It created clarity, and it was worth every penny. So is there something that is calling you, and yet you're holding yourself back from that? So again, what would make it a 20? And name one shift that you're being called into, or one action step that would make a difference in your life. All right, let's keep going. Number 7 is legacy and impact. So these on the second half of the audit, they're a little bit more ambiguous. I'm going to explain them a little bit more because they could mean multiple things. But legacy and impact essentially means that you're making a positive impact in the world and on the lives of others. So you're leaving a lasting impression and you're clear on what you want to leave behind. Now, a lot of people find this category very heavy. Maybe you're in a place where you're like, I don't know what I want my legacy to be. I don't know. what I want to leave behind. And that's okay. That's why we're doing this process is to help you get clear so you do feel like you're moving in the right direction. So one of my clients said she's at 15 in terms of 20. What's working? She said, my work already changes people. I see it in my clients and the opportunities I create, the way my ideas give women permission to want more. What could be improved? She said, I know there's a much bigger expression of my work available. But I haven't decided what my legacy looks like. Some people also come to me with very misaligned businesses. And so they find that it's time to pivot. They're not really being known for what they want to be known for. Sometimes we even ask, if you get to the end of your life, what do you want people to say about you? Or what do you want to have done? And that's a very powerful question to answer. So what would make it a 20 for you? So one of my clients said she really wants to create a movement. She doesn't just want to create a company or a brand, like it truly is a movement with depth. And she wants to serve people in a much bigger way. Maybe for you, you want to be a mom or a parent. And so you know that your kids are going to be a huge part of your legacy. Maybe you want to create more generational wealth for your family. And you know that that starts with you thinking about money differently. So again, what are the initial action steps that you could take? One of my clients actually said that it'd be very helpful for her to write a one-sentence legacy mantra or statement that she can come back to time and time again. It really would demonstrate her core values. It would help her get clear on what it is that she wants and ask herself, is this supporting my legacy? When she has those decisions come up. Okay. All right. Let's move on to the last category, spirituality and meaning. And if you're still with me, amazing job. I know that this is creating a lot of shifts for you already, literally just going through this. I'm so excited for you. And honestly, I'd love to hear what they are in the comments below. So let me know. All right. Spirituality and meaning. So essentially, this is specific beliefs, practices that support you in feeling connected to a bigger purpose. or something beyond yourself. Now, don't misconstrue this. This is not religion. It could be, but it could just be a level of connection to the universe, God, however you want to describe it, that you experience on a regular basis. So, one of my clients said, she's a 16 out of 20 here, I have a strong sense of gratitude and meaning. I know there's more to my life than business, money, and achievement. She also feels, a connection to the universe. She feels like she's given signs. I know for me recently, I asked the universe for a sign when I was making a big decision about working with a team that I wanted to hire. And I asked to see a white feather. And I was very specific with that. And literally an hour, less than an hour actually, after I asked to see the white feather, I was on Instagram and I saw this beautiful video of this wedding dress being made and it had thousands of white feathers on it. I was like, okay, confirmed. And so, what is it for you that you want to create in terms of a sense of connection with something outside of you or something bigger in the universe? So, this other client said that what could be improved, she said, when life gets full, my spiritual practices tend to disappear. So creating more spaciousness, but also more of a routine around her spiritual practices is something that she's craving. And when I asked her what could make it a 20, she said the space to pray, reflect, be present, feel connected to something bigger. And her initial action steps were to choose one simple daily or weekly practice that connects me to the meaning and put it on the calendar. As we say, if it's not scheduled, it's not real. Actually put it on the calendar so that it becomes part of her weekly ritual or even daily ritual. Maybe for you, there's a spiritual retreat that you want to attend, or maybe you have a bunch of books that have stacked up that you know would help you go even deeper and tap into that side of yourself. Or maybe it's a permission piece. So many clients who I work with, they've been stuck in like the analytical, the practical, the realistic for so long And now they're ready to shift into or even tap into this side of themselves that they haven't accessed in years or decades or ever and bring that into their work and bring that into their life in a bigger way and finally admit who they actually are and what they believe in. Okay. So, that's the full audit process. Like I said, I'd love to hear from you directly in the comments below what shifted for you, what came through, what Clarity have you gained? Again, we're not making any of this wrong. The truth is everything can shift very quickly, especially with this level of clarity and the tangible action steps that I know you're going to take after you turn off this video. And if you found that there have been categories in this audit that have been lower than you'd like, and multiple categories that have been lower. Simply ask yourself, which one do I want to focus on first? Because again, this is not about a whole life overhaul. You do what you can do right now and focus on the category that's most important. And then you can come back to some of the other ones and focus on those. Okay. And truly, things can shift so quickly. And if you were curious to know how you can work with me directly on all of this and much, much more, just check out my business advisory program. It's my private practice where I work with clients one-to-one. There are a variety of different packages that we work on together. I can also walk you through this audit process in a private session so we can go even deeper with everything you've uncovered.
