In this presentation, Enrique Salem argues that AI will fundamentally reshape every sector over the next few decades, citing explosive demand exemplified by NVIDIA’s results. He warns that new technologies inevitably attract malicious actors, creating urgent security challenges. Salem explains Bain Capital Ventures’ decision to back Stryker, founded by Srinath and Ankur, because their deep security expertise uniquely positions them to build a platform that makes AI safe and accessible for all businesses, not just a privileged few. The investment is framed as a response to the massive AI opportunity coupled with the critical need for robust, enterprise‑wide AI security solutions.

There isn't anything that we're going to be working on for the next 20 to 30 years that isn't going to be meaningfully impacted by AI. If you look at NVIDIA's recent results, what's really clear is that demand for AI is off the charts. The growth is like nothing we've ever seen in the history of technology. And what's happening is every company, every business is having to think about what is their AI strategy? How do they take advantage of AI to either reinvent themselves, make themselves more productive, or ultimately serve their customers better? We've been talking about the, the AI revolution, the really AI being at the core of everything. Individuals, consumers, small businesses, big companies, governments are going to all embrace AI. But with anything new, you know, what What we see is that unfortunately there's always opportunity for abuse or getting misused. And what we've seen, especially in security, is when there's a new technology, the attackers, the bad actors, the hackers, the thieves, they first utilize this new tech because they don't have to worry about what could go wrong or what are the controls that should be in place. The reason that we were excited to work with Srinath and Ankur is very specifically because this was a group of founders who had a lot of experience understanding security, understanding the threat actor, understanding how, uh, security is impactful for everything that is done on a daily basis by individuals and businesses. And so we felt that their unique experiences plus the threat, the problem, that we needed to have better solutions to knowing how was AI going to be used, how was it going to be compromised, and then how would we protect it. So what we found in the team is they were uniquely qualified to build a company that would be at the center of really making AI secure, usable, not just by a few folks who had a control, a few controls in place, but by everyone. And so that was the opportunity behind Stryker, which is really bringing AI safely to every business in the world.
