A salesperson with no experience got five rejections on day one of door-to-door sales. Instead of quitting, they started documenting every no. The lesson: sales is built on reps and learning from rejection, not natural talent.
But I had zero background in sales. First day we decided to go out and sell, we had 5 rejections. We kept delaying that day to go out and sell and knock on doors, but I couldn't just muster enough courage to just talk to them and say, hey, do you want to have a website? And we were devastated for a few days. And then he said, you know what, let's document these rejections. So for those of you starting in sales, every time you pitch, you're building that muscle. Sales and marketing, it's all about reps. You got to do the reps, you got to try different things, you got to learn from those reps.
