Feras Alhlou warns founders and consultants not to celebrate a verbal yes from an internal champion. You need to confirm which other departments must sign off and ask the champion how to secure their buy-in, not contact stakeholders directly without coordination.

One mistake that I see founders do is that they get very excited when their main point of contact gives them the go-ahead. So let's say you're a social media consultant and you meet with the director of marketing or the CMO, and they love your solution, bringing some software and some consulting around it. And they said, great, we love you, we want to proceed. And then silence, and then they disappear because they have to fight all these battles within their company to get you approved. My recommendation is don't go out and start to reach Reaching out to other stakeholders, that's just bad form. But ask your champion, your main point of contact, things like, hey, in similar situations, in my experience, other departments have to be on board with buying this solution. Remind the buyer that we need to get these other people on board.
