Don't romanticize business mistakes that come from laziness or negligence. Learn from other people's failures instead of waiting to mess up yourself. Honest setbacks from real effort are different from half-baked work born of arrogance.
I've learned a lot from my mistakes, so I plan to make more to learn more. No one ever says this. Some folks glorify business mistakes and fail to distinguish between setbacks and negligence. Errors and mistakes happen. I've made a ton of them. They're part of life, but they better not be due to your sloppy work. Do not allow yourself to celebrate failure that was the result of your laziness or or your arrogance to admit you need help. Don't conflate an honest effort with half-baked work. That's a huge disservice to yourself and to your team. Rather than waiting to make mistakes to learn from, learn from the successes and failures of others and seek their help.
