F****** Modern Day Pharisees.
15 Feb 2024 · 47 min
A candid podcast episode (hosts: Francisco Javier Ortega and Guy Jones) addressing authenticity, sexual temptation, shame, and judgment in Christian communities. The hosts criticize legalistic, judgmental church behaviors ("modern-day Pharisees"), share personal stories of failure and restoration, emphasize pastoral/peer vulnerability, and invite listeners—especially those who feel judged or disconnected—to receive salvation. The episode closes with a prayer and a call-to-action directing new believers to message the Holy and Horny podcast Instagram ("Jesus").
Chapters
You're making ways for the kingdom. They try to look and see what's wrong. You look hard enough, you're going to find holes in everybody's walk.
The number one person that was probably the holiest, horniest person in the Bible was King Solomon. He was the wisest dude. He had the most money, and he wrote Song of Solomon, the horniest book in the entire Bible. That does it.
And it's still sin. And no kind of way are we glorifying something sin. But I want to be with people that I can talk about and confess my sin to, and they're not judging me and looking at me different and running and telling other people I love.
The Lord and I love people that need the Lord.
I'm just tired of being fake. And if I got to be fake and I can't be real, the Bible says, confess your sin to one another. I love you. I honor you, man. You are like, you're fruit of the ministry, man.
Hey, welcome back to the Holy and Horny podcast, man. I'm so. I'm so glad that you guys are here, tuning into this. This episode's going to be a little bit different, right? I still want to have some fun on this episode. We'll probably have fun on every single episode because that's just who me and you are, brother. So to anyone listening, but we also want to talk about some stuff that, you know, when you're a man of God and you're holy and you're also horny and you fall into some struggles, not like you have desires, right? Like, I even made. It was funny. A guy called me out because I was going to make a post, and I was talking about, you know, if you're a man of God and, you know, you. You. You struggle with some desires. And he was like, nah, man, I don't want you to say struggle. I want you to say you give in to those desires. Because that's what we. That's what we've done, and that's the audience that we're reaching, right? Is men that have given into some of these desires. When we give into some of these desires, there's some stuff that comes with it. And we're noticing some persecution just by the title of this podcast, man. From Christians too, bro.
In general, I don't like a lot of church people. They're. Judy. They try to hold you down when you're making ways for the kingdom. They try to look and see what's wrong. You look hard enough, you're going to find holes in Everybody's walk. If you're looking for somebody let you down. If you don't think God Jones is ever going to let you down. You got me messed up. I'm only human, but I am kingdom minded more than most. So come look for the flaws. You're going to find them. Come look for them. They're here. Yeah.
Yeah, bro, I. I feel you on that, bro. Because I felt like that for probably the past, like 10 years. Even before that, especially when I was trying to, like, get some sort of job in some sort of ministry, is like, bro, in church, it's extremely difficult to find men that are willing to be open and honest. I'm talking about, like, extremely difficult. And then I know someone's probably listening to this right now and they're like, nah, man, I'm pretty honest. I'm like, bs Bro, when's the last time you let me into your failure? When's the last time you showed me your low lights? You don't. I was talking to our boy Pierce today, bro, and I was telling him about our first episode that we filmed, right? And I want to hit on that too, because the dude that was in the room while we were filming, my boy Kevin, man, he got rocked by that episode. And this is why. It's because of what we're talking about right now. He's never heard anybody be that real before, bro. That dude looks up to me. He literally said. He was like, man, I just like, you're my mentor. You're the dude that I like, look up to. He was like, you're my leader. He was like, and when I heard you talk on that episode, it showed me a different side of you. He was like, and what's crazy is I used to feel like, I cannot run with this, man, because I'm over here having my struggles. And I'm not going to blast his struggles. But I know he wants to be on an episode so he can blast his own struggles because that's what he caught. He said, you know what? I want to be as open as you guys are because it did something in him, right? And he said whenever he saw me open up like that, he was like, you know what it made me do? It didn't make me lose respect for you. It made me honor you. And it made me say, man, how can I run alongside with this, man? And also it allowed me to encourage him to say, bro, there is nothing special about Frank Ortega that's different than you, man. I got humanity all up in me. I got flesh all up in me, I got shortcomings and failures and will continue to have those things. I'm like, so if God could do something through an individual like me, that means he could do something like that through you. And you don't got to be cleaned up and perfect, bro. One of the things that's annoyed me because I've been in church culture for so long, right? And I don't. I don't hate the church, and I don't dislike the church. I love the church, which is why I feel like we're talking about this because we love the church. But I want men that are inside of a church building to hear this and to be able to send us a message and say, hey, man, man, I would love, love, love, love to connect with you guys, because I got some stuff I need to share, bro. The ministry that we help our mentor with, the amount of breakthrough that happens. I've never seen anything like that in a church. I just haven't. You know why? It's because when we step into that room, the only thing we're focused on is, hey, let's hear each other's lowlights. Let's hear the stuff that you have never wanted to tell anybody. And then God blows the roof off of it, bro. Because it's like we finally exposed the real us, but we got Christians running around saying, hey, no, no, no, no. Your reality, the realism of your humanity triggers me so much, and it makes me feel a certain type of way that I would rather you fit into a mold that I want you to fit into. Talk the way I want you to talk. Think the way that I want you to think. Dress the way I want you to dress. You know, sin the way I want you to sin. This is holy and horny. Hey, forget you having sexual sin. I would rather you be a liar. I would rather you be prideful. I would rather you be gossiping. I would rather you be doing anything else besides that. Because if you do that, you, hey, guess what? I'm. I'mma put a layer of like, man, can't believe you did that. As opposed to any other shortcoming.
And how about these surface level? These surface level. Like, if somebody is vulnerable, it's like, man, you know, and you got to pull their teeth. Man, I'm dealing with this lust. But it's not like, damn, man, I'm struggling with porn, or, damn, man, I cheated on this girl that I was with, or, damn, man, I had sex out of wedlock. It's like, man, I'm just dealing with this lust. It's like, man, I'm just tired of that. Like, I'm just tired of being fake. And if I gotta be fake and I can't be real, the Bible says, confess your sin to one another, and he is just to forgive you. That doesn't mean water your sin down. That doesn't. And it's still sin. And no kind of way are we glorifying sin.
Amen.
But I want to be with people that I can talk about and confess my sin to, and they're not judging me and looking at me different and running and telling other people. Not that I'm telling the whole. I'll tell the whole world, but I want to know that there's. I want it. Yeah. And I'm going to. But I want to know that with my friends. They're loyal, they have a heart, and they're real. And if you're not going to be real with me, then you're. We're wasting each other's time.
Absolutely. 100%, bro. I think that's exactly what we're all looking for, man. And it's just so rare to find. Like, I've had more dudes share with me stuff that they haven't shared with anybody. The past couple weeks since I've been talking about this podcast than ever in my entire life, man. Like, ever. I had two young men sitting on this couch yesterday, and we were talking and I was casting vision about the podcast. I told them about the first episode that we filmed, and I was like, guys, it's gonna blow yalls mind. Like, the transparency on it. You guys are gonna be like, whoa, I've never heard anybody, anybody confess anything to levels of that detail. You know what I'm saying? And then guess what they did. They started sharing things with me that they have been scared to share with the pastoral staff at a church. We're doing something different, like. And I'm not going to put that weight on the pastors either, bro. Like, I'm not going to sit here and hate on a church and be like, pastor, should this. No, no, you don't have to. That's what Frank Ortega and Guy Jones is for. I'll carry that mantle. I'll carry that burden and we can walk.
But I do want to talk. Let's talk about this. Who did Jesus most despise?
Pharisees.
Pharisees. The one spitting law. You can't do this. You don't need to do this. Like this. You shouldn't do this.
The.
The law keepers. But he's like, Bro, you without sin cast the first stone. And they, and he always had these onliners to catch him in their own sin. Man, I never want to be the guy that you can't do this. You shouldn't do this. You, I want to be the guy that leads and says, do this. This is what we're doing. We're going this way. And when we're on, and we're, we're on this trajectory and we're Holy Spirit led, we're going to light it up, we're going to change people's life. We're going to finally make an impact for the kingdom. And it's not through telling you what you can't do. The Holy Spirit tells you what you can't do. The Holy Spirit convicts you.
Yeah.
And, and it's a beautiful God. Guy Jones is not the Holy Spirit. Frank Ortega is not the Holy Spirit. Now man, if, if my brother struggling with sin, I'm going to come alongside and be like, bro, you know, I see your struggle. You had to talk to me about it. I see it. But you're, that's not who you are. This is who you are. You're a man of, you're a man of. You're a man of. And tell them about their self, tell them who their true identity is instead of, and then say, you know what, I used to struggle with that. Or I struggle with that too. But I'm not struggling anymore. And when I am, brother, I got brothers like you that I can confess it to and move forward. Yeah. Like, yeah, I just hooked up with a chick a couple weeks ago. Guess what? I'm not going to for a good. I, I'm gonna try to live out this thing today in this present moment.
Yep.
Holy and pure in front of my God. And I'm going to keep getting back up when I fall short and I'm gonna dust my feet off and keep moving forward for the kingdom. And I bet you what I do is going to be more beneficial for the kingdom. Me, somebody that doesn't get paid for the ministry, that pays to do ministry work is going to be more beneficial for the kingdom than 500 khaki wearing, Bible thumping. You can't do this. You can't do that.
Oh, a hundred percent, bro, a hundred percent. Because I love what you're saying, man. Because I think some people could try and listen to this and try and be like, man, this is just two dudes trying to justify sin. That's not what we're talking about. What Whatsoever. I'm talking about the reality that as. Bro, first of all, the number one person that was what I would say, probably the holiest and horniest person in the Bible was King Solomon. King Solomon, that dude wrote Proverbs. He was the wisest dude. He had the most money, and he wrote Song of Solomon, the horniest book in the entire Bible. You know what I'm saying?
Let's go.
So what we're talking about. So first of all, when. When you were talking about, like, how your. Your dad said, man, God loves God, money and women. Solomon, that's the Solomon anointing. You know what I'm saying? And so for me, I'm like, no, no, no, it's not that we're trying to justify no sin, because that's not what we're doing. Like, I'm paying that price when I fall into that sin. I'm paying that price because now guess what? It's not that God removes his love for me or anything like that, but now guess what I end up doing. I end up putting a veil of condemnation and shame in front of me that now I have to work through my own humanity again to try and step into God's grace and experience his love again. And it doesn't help when you got somebody else pointing a finger at you, being like, well, you, da, da, da, da, da, or looking you a certain type of way, bro, I wish I knew what was going on in your head so that I could call you out on the spot too then. But that's not how I roll. I just had someone giving me some sort of look, looking at me, like, a little differently. And it was as soon as I started posting about the Holy and Horny podcast. They don't even know what we're talking about on the podcast, but because of the name, start looking at me a certain type of way. You know how I approached them. I was telling you this earlier. Walked right up to him, gave him a big old hug, grab him by the side, by the waist, brought him into me, said, man, love you, bro. Double tap him, grab his shoulders, walk away. Why? Because I want him to know I don't care what you guys think about me. I will not change the way that I love you. I will not change the way that I care for you. And if the moment comes when something comes out about you, there's gonna. I can. I can bet there's gonna be at least one individual that doesn't look at you sideways. That individual is gonna be Frank Ortega.
And.
And if. If, you know, if Guy Jones knows Them, then that's two individuals that isn't going to look at them sideways, but instead we're going to pick them up. Why? Because we're men that don't compete with men. We're men that complete men.
And it's awesome because we got business, business gurus, entrepreneurs, business owners. We got hardworking blue collar workers. We got all kinds of people that listen in on us and that are going to be listening to this podcast. So just think about it on a. Or a parent. Just think about it on a parent or business owner leader level. When you lead, do you get more out of people when you condemn them for what they're doing wrong? And another, you know, term for that is negative reinforcement. And the fact that the science will tell you that negative reinforcement hardly ever works and more likely has what they call like a fallout. Complete fallout. So, but positive reinforcement, like, if you want to train a dog, you train them with what they love. So, like, my dog is prey driven. She loves a ball, she loves a frisbee. She loves to tug. So me playing with her and reinforcing good behavior, I'm gonna. So I'm gonna reinforce what she's doing, right? And I'm gonna get more right behavior out of her. Yeah, but when my dog gets in the trash can, because she always gets in a trash can and I feel like she's mad at me because I leave her home some days and she shreds stuff like paper when I come home, she will not come out of the corner. And she's a confident dog. She's never beaten. She's never. Very rarely is she yelled at. I could just look at her. Come on, girl. What is this? That's what I said. What is this? Yeah, look, she's looking right now. What is this? She knows, but the condemnation of me because every time I do, hey, what is this? What'd you do? And she just cowers down and she's just scary. And she's not who. She might dribble little pee on the ground, but she's not who she's built to be. She's not that bold, athletic Belgian Malinois the most athletic dog in the world. She's not the athletic dog that she is. Her spirit is beat. It's condemned. She knows she did wrong. And that's how we are as Christians. Like, when we fall short, we're like, dang, man, I just dropped the ball again, man. I just got drunk the other night and now, like, I'm gonna cower down instead of go out and do what we're called to do instead of be who we are built to be. And a lot of the reason why is because Satan is the number one accuser of the brethren. So, like, Satan condemns. He condemns. He tell. He. He uses that because he knows it's easy to use that, but it's so much easier when the people that are supposed to be putting the flag, Putting the. Carrying the flag for other believers are doing the same thing that the accuser of the brethren, Satan is doing. They're accusing you, they're condemning you. They're belittling you just with their looks.
Yeah.
Or maybe, you know, maybe, but. Or just, you know, you don't. You. You don't deserve to be in on this aisle with me. You aren't dressed as well as me, or these are my assigned seats or. Oh, bro, looking at you funny because you rolled in late to church, is that. Does that make you want to go to church? Is that as a. As a non believer? Does that make this faith attractive to you to go hang out on a pew with people that are looking at you sideways because you got some tattoos? Come on, man.
Yeah, yeah, that's what they treat you as, man. If especially, like, I wouldn't be surprised, bro, after some of our episodes go live, if there's individuals that start looking at us like we got tattoos all over our face.
Oh, I'm ready for the smoke. I've got to smoke my whole life, man. And I don't want to be a believe. I don't want to be a fake Christian. I don't want to be untrue to what God's put in my heart. And God's put this message so deeply in my heart that if you don't like it, you need to check your make. Make dang sure you're right before you come at me with God. Pray on it. Seek God and check your natural inclinations. Because Satan also showed up as an angel of light, which a lot of times we think, man, we are really in the right. And then it's like, whoa, whoa, man, I can miss it. Yeah. And I've had a lot of time to think on this and a lot of time to focus on it. And like I've said before, Frank, they nailed me to the cross in my hometown by the mistakes I made. But they. It was on every magazine, every newspaper. It wasn't accurate. True story. And they painted me to be a villain because of a car accident that I got into that I was drinking and driving. I've been in the worst places, I've been embarrassed. I've been shamed. I lost all my friends. I've lost all my family. I've had nobody that cared to check on me. Yeah, you can't make me feel any worse than I've already felt. But God has put this on my heart a number of times. Just like, man, why is church so unattractive?
Yeah, I was telling one of our pastors, we just had this church conference this weekend, and I have a really special gentleman that I work with who he's pretty. He's pretty up there as an actor. And I was like, hey, I got a dude who's coming in who really needs the Lord and needs to get hit by the Holy Ghost. I'm like, so just be like interceding for him. And the conversation led to where, to the point where I was like, yeah, man, it's because I feel like as a church, we have destroyed the trust of other individuals. They don't trust the church. They don't want to go and talk to a church leader about actual junk. Because what's gonna happen to me, man? What's gonna happen?
They don't even want to vape in the parking lot, bro.
I had a situation. Oh my God, bro, I had a situation. And my boys, my boy Pickles, bro, this dude, he's a gamer. That's his gaming name, Pickles. I hope he's watching this right now, man. Pickles, if you're watching this, I love you. Shoot us a message on, on a, on ig, bro. But this dude, bro, I had been just loving on him for probably a couple years at this point, man, they just loving on him. And this ain't no cleaned up Christian. This isn't even a cleaned up non believer. And he's respectful, right? So he comes to church, bro, there's like a young adult service. And I don't feel bad sharing this because that young adult's pastor isn't there no more. And I had shared it with him. And the people that did this, they no longer attend the church. So hopefully they grow from this. But after years, bro, of like working on this man and sowing seed, we get to church and he steps outside and if we're being honest, he steps even away from the doors. And he's like pretty far away. He's still on church property, but. And you can see him from the front door, but he's not like right up there. And he was just hitting his vape because he's used to gaming and vaping and so that nicotine hit is a real thing. And bro, someone goes up to him and they're like, hey, man, you can't be doing that here. You put that away. Like, either that or we're gonna have to toss it. It's like, are you flipping kidding me right now, bro? Like, are we here for the lost or are we here for people that fit your agenda? Are we here for the people that make you feel good about yourself? Right? And then you said the seat thing. That really pisses me off too, because then my cousins, two of my cousins, one of them, you met him here whenever we were talking about holy and horny.
Oh, I love that, bro. I love that brother, man.
Yeah. Yes.
And he got saved recently.
Yes, he did. And guess what?
Saying, man, I'm not ready to. I'm not. I know when I got to be believer, I got to put a lot of things off and I'm just not ready to do that. And Frank's like, bro, come as you are not Frank. Jesus said, come as you are. My yoke is easy and my burden is light. I am the way, the truth and the life. You can't come. You can't come any other way, but come through me. You can't come through the Pope. You can't come through the khaki wearing church Christian that's telling you to put your vape out. All you got to do is go to Jesus.
That's all that matters. For real. And he got led to Jesus because of your testimony when we were on the podcast with Steve Weatherford. Right. And, and I want to hit on this in a little bit, but I, I do believe that, I do believe that, you know, church is going to play a role and men like me and you are going to play a different role. And it's not which one's right or wrong, is which one's fruitful, you know, and we're going to be fruitful in some areas that the church isn't fruitful in, like the normal church organization. And the church organization is going to be fruitful in some areas that we're not going to be fruitful in, which is why this is the body, you know what I'm saying? But I would love for the body, when we leave a building to be able to offer such a space where there we can have modern day women at the, well moments, right, that are working through their stuff. Like, I feel like everyone just thinks that that happened and she never sinned again. Like, no, no. There was probably patterns that she had to work through breaking. You know what I'm saying? Discipleship that needed to take place. But anyways, go back to the seat thing, bro. My cousins, they go over there, they sit towards the very back, and they got like, these seats next to the door because it's their first time the church in a long time, bro. And so they're just trying to, like, you know, feel comfortable. And some leader comes up to them and he's like, hey, man, you guys can't sit over here. They're like, well, why not, man? Like, there's so many seats open up there still, and it's not even full. And there's no. We've been watching it during the music. That's what they called it. Because they don't call it worship because they're normal people that aren't speaking Christianese yet, right? Like, during the music, there was no one sitting back here, so we thought it'd be cool. Like, no, no, no, man. Like, those are reserved for people. So this is what my cousins do. They're like, all right, man, fine, whatever. So they move already irritated, and they sit down where they told them to sit down. And they keep looking back. All service, bro. They keep looking back. Nobody sat in those damn seats, bro. It's almost like it was just a power move just to be like, hey, these seats are reserved for specific individuals, special individuals that have gone through a certain process that do certain things, and it is a flipping chair inside of a sanctuary, man. Like, are you freaking kidding me, man? My cousin hasn't gone to church since then.
I don't blame him.
I don't blame him either, bro. And I told him and Pickles because Pickles was like, bro, man, that was so uncomfortable, bro. Like, I was trying to be respectful and all this stuff. And I just remember I go up to, like, the. The young adults pastor at that time, and I was just like, bro, like, are you kidding me, bro? Like, you need to talk to these dudes, man. Like, you need to talk to this team, because you didn't even get to know my friend. You just went out there and tell them what to do. Please tell me anywhere in the world where you could just go out and do that. You're not going to get popped in the mouth. Like, you can't just go up and tell people those things. So I say those things to say, like, man, we. There's growth for all of us. Just like, there's growth for me and you. There's also growth for leadership teams to, like, hey, that. Let's keep the Main thing. The main thing. And I don't think the main thing is to, you know, stay comfortable in our own skin and. And all these things, but I think the main thing is to get the people who kind of create a little bit of a mess, man, who kind of bring a little bit of dirt. Like when Jesus was preaching and the ceiling fell, dirt fell everywhere. It got dirty, it got messy. And Jesus didn't say, I can't believe you guys did that. Go back around and come through the right entrance. He said, hey, I like a little bit of crazy. I can rock with a little bit of crazy. And that's what we need to overcome, bro, is like these f. Pharisutical mindsets.
Right? And. And a shout out to my church, Canvas Church, for bringing in. They bust. They actually go out and. And transport in rehab people that want to go to church. And I've never seen anything like it, man. And then they got a reserve spot for those people after church while they're waiting for the. The transports where. And they hang out, smoke cigarettes, chat it up. I always make sure I catch. Because I do some serving in the parking lot. So I always make sure I catch the people vaping, like, walking in and make them feel extra comfortable. And, like, sometimes I'll ask them, like, what. What flavor you vaping? I. I don't vape. I don't use tobacco, but I have. I used to when I was 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. And if you'd have told me to put my vape away at that time, you'd have definitely caught the whole full clip, I promise you. And you never tell. You wouldn't tell another person not to vape. Not because you wouldn't want to and not because you wouldn't be shooting them, you know, looks, but because you're soft. That's a soft move. Like, brother man, I don't mean to, but it does bother me because, yeah, man, I have a love for the Lord and I have a love for people that don't have the Lord. And I see potential in people when they don't see potential in themselves. And I know how. How hard I gotta work to work past people's church wounds. And it hurts my heart because I got those same wounds, so. And I still feel condemnation just because I got some tattoos and just because of the way I carry myself confidently. Yeah, but I'm always respectful. I'm always respectful to everybody. I treat everybody with respect because God put in my heart, he allows me to see the best in people. He allows me to See potential and people. And we were just having a group meeting, and I asked my team to write down their strengths. And these are confident dudes, men. And they're like, man, it's so hard to think about my own strengths. And I'm like, vomit it out. Just get it on paper, man. I'm really struggling getting these strengths on paper. I just. I don't think about myself very often. And these are not even, like, really believer dudes. I don't think about myself. I'm thinking about my family. I'm always building stuff for my family or working on my friend's car, or working on my son's car, or doing this for my wife. And then I'm like, now let's write our weaknesses down. And they're writing little watered down stuff. And I said, well, let me tell you, weakness. I said, a lot of times, man, I feel like I'm not enough. I feel like I'm not enough to be a friend without having something to offer somebody. So a lot of times when I'm with friends, it's like, hey, I. I want to do this for you, or can I do th. This for you? Or how about I buy, you know, how about I buy your ticket over here? How about I do this? Because inwardly I don't feel like I'm enough.
Wow.
And when I said that, it unlocked all kinds of baggage that these dudes had pinned up. It's like, stuff like that. Like, I'll be the guinea pig. I'll be the dude that goes out there and just lays it out there because I'm emotionally intelligent. That girl gave me a hard time the other day, said, and I didn't really understand what emotional intelligence meant, but then I started hearing the definition. I'm like, man, I am 100 emotionally intelligent.
Yeah.
And so much so that I'll fall on the sword for somebody else to feel comfortable, to break through. And a lot of times when I see hurt people, like, and dudes get mad or. Or whatever, sometimes my flesh will get me and. And I'll rise up. But then a lot of times I'll just see, man, childhood wounds and shame and brokenness. And I'd be willing to bet that a lot of times, like these same people, that having a problem with the way they treat me coming into church or. And I don't really get a whole lot of that anymore, but a lot of people that I know do, because me telling stories, Frank had stories. So it's like, this is a regular occurring thing. So what other podcasts Are they talking about this at.
Not that I know of.
You know what? I know new ideas, and these aren't new ideas. This has been going on. People don't like new ideas. People don't like new ideas. So I can't wait to see yalls hate in the comment. But just know one thing. I love you.
Yeah. Yeah. Amen, bro. Amen. And I want to. I want to do the same thing, bro. I want to honor my church. Church 1132 in Allen, Texas, because we're building a dream center in the middle of Oak Cliff where nobody wants to go. Where the lost of the lost are at, man. And we're. There's a reason why hundreds, if not at least a thousand, maybe like 1500 people come through that ministry every single week. And they're all in, like, the worst of the worst in Dallas. Like, living in those areas right in our church has been able to create such love and such grace and such trust that those individuals are able to like, come in and experience God and then us also be able to like, tangibly take care of them. So there's great. Like, anyone who's listening to this, I want to be very clear. Me and Guy do not hate the church or have anything against the church. What I believe it is, I believe it's a passion. Because like you said, bro, I love the Lord and I love people that need the Lord. And I will. I will fight a Christian to get a salvation instead of trying to get in line and say the right things and sound correct just so that I can have a good relationship with him. No, you know what? Like, at the end of the day, I want salvations pro. Like, that's what I'm after. I'm like, and if I got to pick sides, I'll pick his side so he feels comfortable so we can take him to the Lord and then I'm going come back and. And then we can hash this thing out and see, like, what the heck was that about, right? Thankfully, that's never happened, but it can. If it ever got to that, that's the place where I'd be willing to go because I love people, man. That's what Jesus did. He got into it with the Pharisees all the time because of people and his heart for people.
What I'm hearing you say is Jesus would leave a hundred believers for the 1 non believer. He would leave the 99 believers for the 1 non believer. Now that doesn't sound right. You know, Would Jesus do that? Well, yeah, he said he'd leave the 99 for the 1. And that's not something me and Frank made up. And that's not. And it just reminds me of how much our philosophy.
Yeah.
Is Jesus inspired. And Jesus said, the ones that love him, of course they'll hate you. Of course they hate you. Count it all Joy. So I'm just. I'm thankful that we could get on here and speak truth with grace and hopefully get some discussion going on other people that may feel like that, that may not be able to go to church. And so, Frank, if you would, let's pray a prayer to the people that may not feel comfortable going in church. They may not feel comfortable around the church crowd, but they hear something that's a little bit different from this episode, that feels just a little bit different in their gut. And they're wanting to know because they vape or because they drank last night and got drunk and because they had sex out of wedlock or because they're gay or whatever.
And I want you to pray, not just them doing that, but they also like it.
Right. I want you to say a prayer and lead those people to Jesus because they might not go to the church house and get it. And this may be their opportunity because we're not promised tomorrow. And matter of fact, the way the world's ramping up, it's a scary time for a lot of people. But the victory that we have through Christ Jesus, perfect love, casts out all fear. We. We walk in joy, we walk in peace, we walk in victory. Even though I'm going to sin tomorrow, I don't want to, I don't desire to, but I'm going to sin tomorrow. And you. That are a little bit judgy, if you think about it, you might possibly sin too. So. So, Frank, say a prayer for these people.
And.
And man, it's an honor doing this with you, bro.
Yeah. No, it really is, bro. It really is. I was telling Steve today, Steve's our mentor. I was telling him. I was like, it's awesome because we filmed our first episode and without even talking about, ended in a salvation call, right? Because. So if that doesn't show people our heart, I don't know what will, because that's not what we're trying to do. We're not trying to end things in the salvation call every time so that people are like, oh, wow, these guys really are some type of. No, no. Like, we didn't even talk or discuss it. It just came out of you, bro. You know why? Because you've got that urgency, that love for Them, like, I don't know if they'll be here tomorrow. And I'm a good. I'm a good steward. You're a good steward. And I would not be a good steward. We would not be good stewards if we didn't give them the opportunity. So if you're listening to this right now, man, and you feel like my boy Pickles, maybe you've experienced something, like my cousin Ilion, or maybe you've done some things that even me and Guy Jones have confessed on this podcast, right? And you're saying, you know what, bro? I feel like a fuck up. Not a screw up. I feel like a fuckup. And if you guys have done the same things that I have, and there's other dudes that have gone through the same things that I've gone through, but if I can experience the love and the power that you two keep talking about and I can come as I am, and there's no requirement for me to try and jump through hoops and, and all these different obstacles to try and be a certain type of way before I can approach the throne of God boldly and confidently, then I would love that opportunity. If that. If you're thinking that right now and you're feeling that right now, you know who you are, because your heart right now is beating through your chest. You might be driving right now and you're holding a vape, but it's beating through your chest and you're saying, man, I want in on whatever it is that they have that. Then I want you to repeat this prayer after me. Okay? You can go ahead, close your eyes, unless you're driving. Please don't close your eyes if you're driving, man, but if you're not, pull over, pause it, and then do this when you pull over or something so you can close your eyes, man, and have a little moment here. Okay? So go ahead and close your eyes with me. Dear God, I thank you that you sent your son Jesus to die on the cross because I'm a sinner and I'm never going to hit the mark and I'm never going to get it absolutely, perfectly right. And that's why you sent Jesus and allowed him to be brutally massacred, like, destroyed on a cross. And he willingly. Because the Bible says that I give my life. He willingly gave his life so that I wouldn't have to pay that price. And I believe that you rose him from the dead so that I could be in relationship with you, even though I'm a freaking screw up. God, I believe And I receive Jesus into my heart right now, and I choose to make him the Lord and Savior of my life. And now, Holy Spirit, I invite you to fill me up from the soles of my feet to the top tippity top crown of my head. Would you lead me? Would you guide me when nobody else is around to listen to me? Would you comfort me and would you help show me who I am so that I can experience the life that you want me to experience? In Jesus, mighty name. Amen.
Wow, brother, way to light it up, man.
Bro, I felt that one, man. I'm not going to lie. I felt that one. I feel. I feel God in my house right now, bro.
So if you just received the best gift that you could ever receive, and you do have an addiction, you do vape, you do struggle. Let me tell you, the Holy Spirit will remove that taste right out of your mouth if you ask for it. God will remove that taste out of your mouth. And you don't have. It's not about an urgency to quit doing this or that. All it's about is walking in the grace that you were just gifted. And grace is unmerited favor. You didn't do anything to earn it. You can't deserve it, you can't work enough for it. But it's God's gift to you because he loves you so much that he sent his only son so much that he knew every hair on your head before you were even formed. So much that he gave you a different fingerprint than anybody else has. So much he made you different and what other people have judged different about you, man. That's what makes you special. That's what we want to celebrate.
So.
We love you. We're thankful, so thankful that you can listen to the this podcast and if you did make that decision, drop a link. What's the best way to do that, Frank?

Why in heavens will you not remove the desire for premarital sex from me? Like, hey, got rid of the vape, right? So why is that thing still. Still ticking like a time bomb at times? So I want to talk about that on the next episode, bro.
And why am I so glad that it's ticking like a time bomb?
Ex.
Because I'm sure I'm. I am sure thankful that I had that drive in me, that I had that manhood in me when I wake up in the morning to say less. I'm. I'm thankful of the man that I am. So. Yeah. Hey, you know what it is, Jesus?
It's anointing.
That's it. Thank you, Jesus, that you've given me this desire and show us how best to use that.
Yeah.
To serve you. But what. What. What is one of the best gifts that God ever gave us but can be used wrong? So that. That should be an interesting topic.
That's gonna be an interesting topic, bro. I'm excited to talk about. We might need a guest on that one. We might need it. We might need a guest that we can trust. We'll see who we talk about.
