The Mentor - Bonus 1

Heather Hales and Tara discuss why celebrating wins matters in business, even when you're juggling complicated feelings. They talk about protecting your joy from outside noise and being honest about what success actually feels like.
Sam.
I am a business artist and I have people become wildly successful at their own craft. We are revolutionizing entrepreneurship. Hello, gorgeous human beings of the mentor. Oh, my gosh, isn't this great? I'm so happy. I am so glad that we added these extra calls because the energy I was in and I had a conversation with my team, I was like, okay, what do we do? Do we. Do we. Do we be logical and reasonable and say this is very short notice for a call? Or do I go live when I feel like this and give them a mentor call in of my glory? And they were like, go in all of your glory. And so I know that it's short notice and I know that not everybody was happy about this, but honestly, this is lifetime access to the replay. And the most important thing when you rewatch this in a long time from now, because you're going to have this for, like all your life, the most important thing will not be whether or not you made it live. It will be how potent the energy was. And so I really believe sometimes I've just got to trust my gut and come in with all my energy and be like, this module is going to be incredible forever. I could just press pause on my excitement, but then who knows what could happen between now and a week from now? It could just, you know, things happen in life. And so I wanted to deliver a module in this energy. I'm still like walking on sunshine. I've still got my, my $50 million. It looks like MO2. So what happened when I showed it in the channel, like, looks like I'm OK. I wanted to show, like, I've still got the 50 million sign I have, like, I'm still so vibing off the energy. And so I felt like, let's do this. Plus, I opened a couple of spots for VIP calls for mentor VIP calls. I wanted two and they went real fast. And so I was like, okay, well, let's have some VIP time. Let me talk about what I want to talk about. And I think this module is going to be like, boom. So the first thing I want to do is I want to talk to you about celebration in this moment for me and how important and how much has come up around this topic, especially when it comes to mentorship, because we always have. If we're connected mentors, if we're connected to the people that we work with, what does tend to happen is we have all kinds of feelings. Thank you. We have all kinds of feelings about our feelings and other people's feelings. We care about. People deeply. And so there's always these two double edged decision making processes to make. It's like, I can make this decision and it's good for me. May not be so good for you. Sometimes it's like, I make this decision, it's good for you, it may not be so good for me. Other times there are these perfect decisions that are like, for me, for you, for us, this is all fantastic. And so as a mentor, one thing that I have found has been very important is that I have to be allowed to celebrate my joy. It was one of my favorite things when I was first starting my business and I really was looking for spaces where we could do that. There weren't many. And I think one of the biggest reasons is because most people who talk about their success do it in an energy that feels like just for me, it feels like I want you to know that I'm great. And so in most spaces, people will cut that energy off. They'll say, we can't, we can't have that here. You can't do that here. You can't celebrate like that here because you're doing this for self serving purposes. You're doing this because you're trying to get something right. So we get two kinds, and this is a good point, we get two kinds of sides to the spectrum. We either get this like manipulative, I'm celebrating to get something or then I'm so afraid that I'm gonna look like I'm trying to get something that I'm.
Like.
I did something good and please delete it if I'm not allowed. And also, I'm sorry, I'm proud of me and it's, I'm sorry if I'm not allowed to say that, but I am. But I'm sorry if it makes anybody sad that I said that I'm happy. I take it all back. I delete my post. I'm sorry. Sorry. Like we get these two sides of the spectrum. And so where I was with my like, I wish I had people that would genuinely be excited when I'm excited. There was like a huge gap in my world. And the thing with being an entrepreneur that's so interesting is like no one really gets it the way you get it in your business. When you have a huge celebration, even your partner won't get it really the way that you get it because it's like they didn't do it. Even your friends, they love you and they're so happy for you, but like they don't get it. Get It. They're happy for you, but if they're. If you've done something they've never done before, they're conceptually happy for you. Like, yay, you did it. But they're not, like, feeling what you're feeling. When your parents. When you tell your parents, like, I just did this, and they're like, that's. That's amazing. And you're like, no, you're supposed to be, like, super more prouder than that. And they're like, I am. I just. I mean, obviously it's. And you're just. It feels like, where do I go to just be like, can I just tell you guys what I just did? And everybody goes, oh, my gosh. Like, I can't even believe it. I can only imagine what would happen in my life if I did that. This is a huge deal. Oh, my gosh, I'm freaking out. I'm freaking out for you. I can't believe it. Okay, yes, I'm part jealous and also, like, I don't know, understand how the heck you did it, but also, I'm super excited for you, and I can't believe it. And, oh, my God, like, what, What, What? That feeling. Like, where else are you going to feel that energy and that feeling? And so I wanted to create a place in this industry where it was clean to celebrate. And obviously there's always. There's always people who are learning. And you could say, well, yeah, in your world that don't blah, blah, blah. Everyone's learning. Everyone is learning. And for the history of our lives, we've really only had bragging or meek little mouse that doesn't tell anybody she's happy because she doesn't want to look like she's bragging. We've not had that. Like, I'm genuinely happy, and I believe that you're genuinely happy for me. And when you do this, I'll be genuinely happy for you. And we've got each other. Haven't really had those spaces. So as a mentor, I feel it is important for us to figure out how to celebrate in a way that's aligned for us. For me, I love to have a party because of that sentence that I say, which is a celebration is a party thrown in the name of gratitude. Like, I want to anchor this in, to thank God, the universe, my manifestational powers. I want to say thank you for this moment, and I never want to forget it. And I want to anchor this in because something I recognize along my journey is that we forget. We forget the feeling, like, if I Try to just isolate the feeling of my first client buying. I can't find it in my body. If I'm trying to remember like the first time we had a six figure month and I'm trying to remember the feeling of like the first six figure month, I know it happened. But if I scan my body looking for that feeling, I can't find it. But what I can remember is what it felt like to plan the million dollar celebration party. I remember blowing the balloons up with all the vertically co stuff and in my head being like, this is unreal. Could you imagine if this happened at midnight? Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. My gosh. I remember planning a $2 million party. We'd rented this huge room and there was feathers and flowers and I was like building the celebration. It was like, I won't ever forget the party. So a celebration is a party that you throw in the name of gratitude. And so a lot of the times my celebrations are a party, I'm like, I am so, I'm genuinely so grateful and so happy. And my belief about people is that they're calibrating to be able to do this and to find the space where they can be celebrated genuinely and find this like honest, truthful place in their body where they're happy and where they're celebrating. So as a mentor, you got to find a way to celebrate yourself that feels in alignment and that feels authentic to you. Even if it's invisible. Even if it's like, tonight I bought myself a mini cupcake. There's a candle on it. I'm going to journal, I'm going to take, you know, I'm going to sit in the corner and drink kombucha and eat this one little cupcake with my journal and I'm going to take a picture. I'm going to remember this moment forever, that this is how I celebrated. You will remember the cupcake, the journal, you will remember the vision more than you will remember passing the milestone, which is the wildest thing. But we forget these feelings, but we don't forget the memories. And so anchoring in the celebrations really matters. And when I watch my timeline collapse when it is like I get a message that shows me this time last year we were celebrating this amount and we're so much further. I'm like, gosh, I don't know that I would realize, realize that if I weren't receiving those notifications, would I be reminded of how far we've come if I weren't being reminded how far we've come? And who's going to remind me? Because the thing is, as an entrepreneur, who's going, who's going to say, congratulations, you did it, you're the boss. If you don't throw yourself a party, there's no party. And we deserve a party. We deserve a celebration. Whatever that looks like for us. Whether it's like you take yourself to the spa and you do it in the name of celebration, in the name of gratitude for what you've accomplished. Whatever it is that you do, if you don't celebrate you, no one is going to. It's got to be a part of what you do because or else it's a long journey with no pit stops. Like you're driving from Montreal to California and you're not stopping for a pee. That's not healthy. You need to stop and say, I need to anchor this in for a second. Look how far we've come. I need to anchor this in for a second. This is insane. I need to. I need to anchor this in for a second. This is wild. Because you will remember the anchors even more than you will the long stretch. I want to encourage you in your mentorship to celebrate. And it's not always financial wins like, you may celebrate. Like we're going to celebrate in the summer. Five years of Alpha Femme. I know the exact date I launched Alpha Femme. It was on the 5th. 5th July, 2017 is when we launched Alpha Femme. And so I want to have a birthday party for Alpha Femme because I've survived the five year mark where a lot of businesses don't make it five years. That's the threshold for a lot of businesses. It's the line in the sand. Like, do you make it or do you not? Five years. I'm like, in five years, I've broken every mold I've ever been shown. That's my Mickey Mouse impression. So I'm feeling like I get to have these moments in my life that are like, okay, a five year anniversary party for my business. That's really cool. If I ever crossed a milestone of how many, let's say whenever there would ever be a thousand women in the afe, I think I would have a party. I think I would have an afe. I think we need to declare this. When there's a thousand women in the afe, we're going to have an AFE celebration party to be like, what? Like, how does an idea like this end up having a thousand people in it? Like, I think that would be a really cool thing to do, you know, anchoring in when there's a certain amount of people that, that become millionaires. Like, that's why I celebrate my clients when they hit a million dollars. Every time a client's a million dollars cash, we sit, we pop champagne together. Like, that's really important for me. Or kombucha if they don't drink, because all my clients don't drink. But I love the feeling of being like, let's anchor in this moment together. How can we anchor in this celebration? Even? It could be how many social media followers that you have. If you've been really working on your social media and you cross a milestone, you're like, yeah, hey, this is so cool. Let's have a celebration for how many followers we have. Like, there's no limit. You can celebrate. We celebrate our anniversaries with our partners. We celebrate all kinds of things in life. And the fact is, you'll realize that as you see how life unfolds and it circles back and you watch how far you've come, it'll blow your mind today. Last year I was coming home from the hospital and I felt like I may have messed up my entire career. I was trying not to do it, but I was like, what if my mind doesn't come back? And I was, I was coaching myself. You know, I'm going to be OK no matter what. I'm going to be ok, but I'm going to be okay. Doing what? Like, I would think to myself, I'll just write a book and I'll talk about my journey. Like, I was so, like, what if my mind is gone? I couldn't. I couldn't remember things. Like, my sharpness was gone one year ago. I think of what I've built in a year. When I think of the depth of who I've become in a year, the memories I've made in a year, oh my gosh, it makes no sense. I'm like, how has this been a year? It's phenomenal. One year anniversary. I'm celebrating one year of health after something that was so terrifying and scary and bad in my life. I can even celebrate a year since how I took my. One of the scariest painful moments and turned it into an incredible year. You can celebrate whatever you want, but you got to celebrate. You got to do it. And one of the big things is you're going to notice that other people are going to have celebrations and you got to check your feelings around them.
Now.
It is true that there are people who still celebrate just to brag. It is true they haven't yet figured out the art of celebration. The art of celebration being, why, why are you celebrating? So I celebrate because I use my social media like a diary. Because I know on this day next year, that party is going to circle back and it's going to remind me and I'm going to get all the feelings rushing back. I do it for me now and later. I do it in the name of gratitude, not in the name of look at me, but in the name of thank you. I am grateful for what I have, even though I know I am asking you for more. I just want to say thank you in this moment. I want to celebrate this because even though I know I am asking for more, I am profoundly grateful for right now. And I am going to put all my energy on declaring that loud and proud that this moment is beautiful. This moment is fantastic. This moment is enough. Although I know I am asking for more, I want to celebrate in the name of gratitude for what today, this moment holds right now. And that has so much power, power and so much magnetism. Why are you celebrating? So that's a big, big thing. You're going to find people who celebrate and you can tell the why is not there yet, but give them compassion. I believe people can change. I changed. I believe people can change. And I believe that sometimes people just do things because they see other people do it, but they don't ask themselves why. I know people watch me celebrate and then think, oh, she celebrates and she's rich. I'll celebrate. But the thing that's missing is they don't know why I do it. They don't know how I feel when I do it. They don't know the mindset that goes behind why I do it. So when they do it, it doesn't look or feel the same. There's nothing wrong with them. They're just not there yet to have a big enough reason behind why they do it. And so it's a little shallow. So instead of being angry or turned off, give them compassion. Send vibes for their understanding of why this is such a beautiful thing. As opposed to, like, hate when people celebrate like that because you'll notice what it does in your body. And on the flip side, if you find that there are people that, like, aren't celebrating enough, I've had so many people be very bold to people and be like, you need to celebrate more. Like, nobody knows. I wouldn't know. Also give compassion to people who are afraid to do it wrong and that aren't celebrating. If someone isn't celebrating online, it doesn't actually mean they're not up to anything. Let's not assume that just because people aren't publicly celebrating their results, it means they're doing nothing. Some people are so afraid of looking like the ones that aren't getting it right that they're not doing it at all. And so we do need to surrender a little bit around this whole concept. It's a beautiful one. And I know that I've modeled it loud in the industry and that it's being modeled in different ways. Some ways successfully, some ways trying to go as far away from it as possible because they're terrified of replicating the wrong thing or of copying. But if you find your own authentic reason to celebrate, it will always come through the right way. And when you see other people struggling or when you see a person that hasn't been celebrating and you have a judgment, just notice that about you. Because as we clean that up as a collective, we are doing an even better job. And it is one day at a time, one celebration at a time. Now, being a mentor means I do for me what I would hope you do for you. It is not just a coach. I tell you what to do because I can see what would be good for you, mentor is I do for me what I feel would be good for you. I wouldn't tell you to do it if I hadn't done it and it was successful for me. And so in your celebrations, in your acknowledging of your greatness and you're actually paving a path for people to feel more comfortable doing it for themselves as well. And this is how we all rise together. And so Kevin, Kevin, Kevin is the best for analogies and stuff like that. And sometimes it is. And this is something you are always going to work on when you are. When you are celebrating big things is like, how long can you hold a celebration? This is so important. How long can you hold a celebration? Have you ever had the experience of being like, it is the best day of your life, you are so happy, and then someone poops on your parade that day. Oh, meaningful. This pooping on the parade is a big deal. It's like, you have ruined the most important moment of my life. Like, the impact is so huge because the duality is so enormous. It's like, I was so happy, and now you just broke it. How long can you hold your joy? Can you protect your joy? And so Kevin, bless his cotton socks, says to me, they're like dementors. So there's in the mentor program, there's dementors. And there's the dementors, good old Kevin, the dementors that basically will purposefully or not, suck the joy out of your celebration. Now, there are so many reasons that people do this. There are people who, when they're mad, it feels better to be mean. This is their own stuff. They're not bad. Like, they're not fundamentally bad, but the fact to be allowed to be a little bit mean when they're mad helps them. And so sometimes they will be mad at you. They will be mad at your big, bold celebration. They will be mad at your beauty, at your joy. They'll be mad at your bragging. They'll be mad at your whatever it is. And so they will find your joy machine and plug into it and say something where they feel powerful because they'll feel it as your space cracks. These are the people where you'll be celebrating. I'm so happy and I just did this beautiful thing. And they'll comment something like, I just find it really disappointing that you do this. Or it's such a shame that blah, blah, blah, or I don't know why you feel the need to blah, blah, blah those people. It comes from whatever place it comes from. It has the potential of like cracking, cracking the celebration. Then there are also the ones who feel like somehow they're being forgotten. In your celebration. You may have family members that are like, you didn't tell me before you post this on social media. Like, you just tell people. You don't tell me you haven't called me. Like, it's great to know that you're successful on social media. I guess I don't matter. You'll have the clients that have been your clients for a long time that maybe you were so caught up in your celebration that you haven't been as present and you're excited and you're receiving all this love and maybe you haven't been so present in your inbox or something. And they feel not taken care of in that moment where it's all about you for a moment. And they're like, I mean, it's really great that you're celebrating, but I like, we. I've been asking you questions and you haven't been seeing it and it's like. And that is not an intentional dementor. It's not like I'm going to take your joy away, but it is like, can we just put you back on solid ground here? Because you may be happy, but I'm not. You may feel happy, but I don't and I think I want to tell you that it doesn't really matter to me that this is an important moment. I just feel like I need I should tell you that my, in my experience of your celebration, this is not. I don't like it. This happens for people. And the reason it happens for people is because we are all the main character in our own movie. Every single one of us is living a storyline where we're the main character. And so if your mom didn't get a phone call to tell her that you, you hit a milestone and you put it on social media, she's the main character of her movie. She's watching the world. Find out before she does and her feeling is like, I don't matter to my child. And in that moment, all of her life revolves around that truth. And no matter what you're going through isn't crossing her mind because you're a secondary character in her movie. She loves you with all her heart. Secondary. Secondary characters are very important. Without them, there's no movie. It's a monologue, but still are not the main character. And so she may, in a moment where she's forgotten this is not about her need to tell you about her experience of your life in the most non perfect moment. And in that moment, if you are not the mentor and you don't protect your joy, you may let her ruin your joy because you'll say, how dare you make this about you. In which case you just made her life about you instead of just saying like, look, you're right, I did share it on social media before I told you I hadn't even considered that. I was really excited and I, and I just thought about myself and I'm going to be super honest right now. I actually really want to just focus on myself and so we can have a conversation about this. And I really want to take space and time to apologize to you. But for now, I'm having such a good day and I really just want to feel this because I'm very proud of myself. Acknowledgement, care, love. But you protect your joy. There have been so many times along my celebration here that on the exact day of an amazing thing, there's been a difficult thing. And it's like the first response is to be like, why, why, why on this perfect day did this bad thing have to happen? And it's like, because it's your ability to hold both that gives you more. If you can only hold joy when there's only joy, you will receive less of it because life is happening always. And sadness is going to be in the room. Whether you're successful or not, the hard things in life, they happen. Your mom is going to misunderstand you. Whether you're rich or whether you have $14 friends are going to feel like you don't spend enough time with them. Whether you're distracted because you don't know how you're going to pay your phone bill, or whether you're distracted because there's 700 people in your inbox and you don't have time to respond to everybody. People will be disappointed by you. It's going to. And so if you can't hold people's disappointment without making it about you, your celebrations will not last. It's going to be very difficult. And this has been a big part for me because also, the more you grow, the more there are people to disappoint, the more there are people with experiences of you and how you do things and how they felt in the way that you did things. And that is their whole life. I'm a secondary character in your movie, and it may happen often that when I do something fully for me, when I express something fully for me, it doesn't land well in your movie, that might happen. But if I reject. If I reject that experience of you because I need to protect my joy in this moment, well, then we both lose. But I can say, I hear you. I don't want to look at this right now because I want to hold this feeling. I'm really in a beautiful place. But I hear you, and we're going to work this out because I care about you. But right now, in this moment, this is like a really important moment for me. And I want it to be about me right now. But we'll get back to this together and we'll work at this together. There's connection that can still occur in the understanding that, like, you're the second character in my movie, I'm the second character in yours. You did something that I did, something that kind of messed up your storyline, and. And now you're doing something that's kind of messing up mine. So let's acknowledge the fact that we're emotional right now and let me just have this moment that's mine. And then we're going to discuss this and we're going to be okay. But if we let the person break the joy, then joy is broken. And then the story is always how that person stole your joy. They're like the Grinch, and they will always be the Grinch. And Then you have a story about them, about how they're the Grinch and they are always going to be that. And that's not fair because people are always living their life as the. As the first main character in their own movie. They're not ever considering that you're the main character. It's impossible for them to. The only movie in which I am the main character is my movie. It's impossible for you to live your movie with me as the main character. So you will always get me wrong because it landed differently for you than it did for me. Not because I'm bad or you're bad, but because in my movie this made sense and in yours it doesn't. We can talk about that. So it's having so much compassion for people. So much compassion for people's thoughts and their pains and their defense mechanisms. So much compassion for people and their response systems. Their fears that they've broken something. Their fears that they're not enough, that they're not being seen, that they're not being loved, that they could ruin everything. Because you don't care. Because that's what it looks like. It's not the truth. Not because you're taking care of yourself as the main character, that you don't care about everybody else. But it is true that you get to choose yourself as the main character in your movie. It is true. And as a mentor, the goal is to help people calibrate to that truth, that it's for me, for you, for us. And so if I'm your mentor, but I live my life to not upset you, am I modeling for me, for you, for us? No. So I'm going to have to model for me, for you, for us, and when that hurts you, because I put myself first, and in your movie, you experience being put second and that bothers you, I'm going to hold space for you. But I know. I know with all this experience now that usually when we feel bad about other people, it's because we are not putting ourselves first. Most of the time when I get upset that someone isn't putting me first, it's because of how many people I'm putting first when I shouldn't. How many people I'm putting first because I think I should, because. Or else they're going to be upset. And then when people don't put me first, it's like, wait a minute, I put everybody else first and nobody puts me first. That's not fair. The mentor energy doesn't work that way. It's got to be Like, I put myself first. And I respect that you put yourself first. And if that triggers me, I'll look at that and I'm celebrating you, and I'll look at my own stuff. But that's a huge conversation. So it is so important to bring this celebration piece into our life, but it's also really important to hold space for people who are going to mess up your celebrations. On the happiest day, you are going to come in, you are going to say, I want to celebrate something with you. I am so happy. This is the greatest moment. I am so happy. And someone is going to be like, that is great. I have a problem. You did this and this. And I would just like to tell you that in the same breath. And you'll be like. And then you have two choices. You say, I am still happy, and you're allowed to be sad because your life isn't about me. And so my joy doesn't move, doesn't change your behavior. Not unless you're a mentor, too, and you understand all the dynamics. You know what I mean? So it's like holding compassion for people and not letting them steal your joy. Don't let protect your joy as much as you protect your sadness. In life, we protect our sadness so well, you're sad, and then someone tries to fix it. You're like, no. They're like, look, maybe you could look at it with this perspective. No, it's just awful. They're like, how about we look at it with this angle? I hate it. I don't like your angle. Your angle sucks. And it's wrong because of this, this, this, and this. Okay, well, how about we look at it this way? Nope, I don't like that one either. It's just bad. You're trying to help me, but it's all bad. It's all just bad. We protect our sadness like it's the fortress. Like, if I let this sadness go, it's going to be as though I wasn't really sad. And we can't have that. Like, people need to understand how sad I was. And so I can't just turn the page on this. Like, people need to know how sad I was. Well, fine, but then let's at least protect our joy as well as we protect our sadness. Like, that is not what we're doing today. Today is a day for me to be really happy and excited, and so I'm going to do that. But I totally acknowledge your feelings, and I will get back to them, but not right now. And when people are mad at that. It's only because in this moment, they're over giving somewhere else eventually. And this has happened to me more times than I can count. People come back into my life months later and they're like, I was very hard on you and I'm sorry. And I'm like, it's okay. I chose this career. I know what I'm doing and I know how I can make people feel. I know I can make them feel so good, like they're dancing and walking on sunshine. And I also know I can make some of the worst things come out. Like. But I get it. I felt it, I acknowledge it, I respect it. And I do my best to regulate my own feelings around it. But I'm also human. And sometimes it gets me. And I'm like. And then I do my work and I do my portal drops and my baby goddess meditations and I'm just like, it's okay. But the biggest thing to remember in this is that you will never be the main character in anyone else's movie except for yours. And it's your job to protect the storyline in your movie. Celebrations matter a lot. Don't like anyone. Don't let anyone spoil your joy. And celebrate like your business depends on it because it does. Celebrate like your relationship depends on it, because it does. It's gratitude for what you already have. We know how to ask for more. But gratitude for what we already have is a skill we must never forget to harness. So on this note, I am celebrating, like, massively celebrating. And I have had to hold duality during the celebration. I have had messages that made me feel bad inside. I have had conversations that I didn't nail. I have had things in my life that didn't go so well. There's been things even just last night we had this other huge storm. I was terrified. It was supposed to be another like tornado style thing that destroyed the island a few weeks back. The same kind of thing. It didn't hit the island. It actually hit the other house on the lake. We have this huge storm, Our power's out. It's like, there's stuff, there's stuff, there's stuff. I'm trying to hold duality. And some people are so happy. And I'm getting these incredible messages of like, you've changed my life. And then I'm getting these other messages that are like, well. And it's just like, I hold my celebration. I hold my power. I hold my joy. I hold my joy. I hold my joy. I acknowledge where someone may feel what they're feeling, but I hold my joy. And that's what creates the duality, and that's what creates the power for more and more and more. As the mentor, it is important that we remember our experience and their experience as two valid, equally important experiences. Even though you prioritize yours, they're equally important. It's just no one else will ever prioritize your experience. You're the only one that can. But you can acknowledge their experience and hold it as truth and fact and validity. That is okay. But don't compromise your experience, because no one will compromise theirs for you. And you will live a life where you are bitter at everybody for not compromising their life for you until you are uncompromising with yours. And you're like, we all own our little piece of magic. This one's mine. I protect it. I take care of it. And when someone's angry, I'm like, it's okay. You're allowed to be angry. Pretend. Protect the magic. You're okay. We're okay. And then when everything comes out, happiness is still there. Protect your joy with the same kind of intensity you protect your sadness with or your anger with. All right, so I want to open the door. We have two people that are going to come and chat with us. The first one is Kathleen. Kathleen is a freaking rock star, bless her heart. Talking about duality. So excited to work with me, like, having one to one opportunities. Our first opportunity to do this together, and she gets sick, like, right at the beginning of the program and has to have this huge surgery. And so I am actually really shocked that she is with us right now. But I am so excited to bring her on. So let's. Let's bring Kathleen up. It's like playing Go Fish. Too many beautiful faces. I can't find the one I'm looking for. The alpha team can find her. And then we'll also do Tara after, because, Tara, get yourself ready. When I say 1, 2, 3, go, it'll be you. Is she here? We lost her. I don't see her either. Okay, so let's bring Tara on first and alpha team, if you want to just message her and see where she's at, that would be phenomenal. All right, so, Tara, come on up. Are you in Paris? I'm in Paris.
Okay. Talk about celebration. Just bringing this forward. My intention is to really honor this celebration energy and to allow myself, without any guilt, any contraction, to be the star of my own movie right now. I was outside on the balcony. I want to peek out at it, but we've got over right now, but oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. When you asked us what we were going to mentor ourselves through at the end of the last call. Thank you, all of you, so much. You don't even know. Or maybe you do. I had said my son was graduating from college. Excuse me. God, I keep doing that. I keep fast forwarding. He's graduating from high school, but in French, we say college. So. Okay, I just want to take a moment, just to receive all of the energy and just really feel the expansion, because that is the receiving of the more. And allowing myself to receive more pleasure, more joy, more overflow is what I really want to bring forward today. I wrote in my unity application, one of the things I wanted to experience this year is to take my whole family back to France, right? Beautiful luxury the whole way. And take my son's girlfriend. At this point, it was even possible. When I first wrote the application, we couldn't even come. Like, it wasn't open for us with our whatever, so we couldn't come. It opened up. I booked the tickets. I just. Just to ground myself. I just need to show what is actually happening. We came. We got here two days ago. And if. And that's the turiffel. And one last thing to celebrate. Did you lose me When I was out there for a sec?
Was it a view on the Eiffel Tower?
It's the Eiffel Tower. I walk all the way outside the Eiffel Tower. Let me see if the Internet can stay because I was took to the phone. Can you see it? Am I losing you every time I put you out the window?
No, not too bad right now.
All right, maybe I have to post a picture. That's what's going on. Before, I was on my husband's phone outside, and then it overheated. So I will post a picture later because I started crying when I got here. You know, I mean, it's. This is my home. We lived here for seven years. And to come back, I know really inside that where we are doesn't. Well, that's not really my truth. Where we are in the world does matter to me. This is my soul home. So to be back here at this particular moment is. I cannot even explain. And right before we got on the plane to come here, I said yes to unity. And it was just the most extraordinary, momentous. And the message I got from you, Melanie, just the way that you did celebrate your e. Like, the best. The best. And I had a glass of champagne in my hand, my Husband next to me, the kids behind us, and everybody's, you know, in a flatbed. And.
She literally sends me a picture of her husband drinking champagne on a first class flight. She's like, I just sent you my three month installment for unity. I'm like, like the best picture, the best energy. I definitely screamed. It was great. I am so. That was it.
I got the scream. I was sitting there, I couldn't, you know. So I really want to honor that because it is exactly what you are saying. I can feel my stretching, I can feel my increasing capacity to receive and the duality at the same time. Because Dominic is leaving. He is going to college. He is going to play soccer in college, which has been his dream since he was a little boy. And we needed to go to the stocage while we were here because we have for five years been renting a storage unit with all of our stuff from our home in Paris. And Dave's like, my husband's like, now we need to clean it out. So we went yesterday, the day, the day after we got here and I just sat in the storage unit and cried. I found notes that I wrote about the kids when we first moved here. Their little tottinet are in there, their casket dusky. And I was like this feeling of a completion of a chapter that means so much. I mean, this is. Moving to France was my end, all, be, all, dream. It was the. It is in many ways the fullest expression of me. So to be back here and to allow that completion and expand into everything that's coming is really what my intention has been. And truth is, I haven't really celebrated it. My husband said to me when I was going to do this call, he said, ah, maybe you shouldn't sit on the balcony. Is it a little show off to show the Eiffel Tower? And I was like, babe, babe, babe. And he best intentions, right? Of course, best intentions. But I'm like, babe, babe, give me your phone. I'm tethering. And we're doing it on the balcony, you know. Can you hear me still?
Yes.
Okay. I thought you were laughing. No sound was coming out. So I wasn't sure if I lost you. And then the same with the unity, right? There's this expansion inside of me. And then again, love him, love him, love him. This feeling of. Have you been reading the papers? Do you know what the stock market's doing? I'm like, no, we're not good to. No, no, no, no. So that duality is something I'm experiencing right now. So I celebrate fully with all of you. Like, I. I just want to ground and celebrate and you know, all the pinches, all the feels, all the joy, all the love. So we moved. Well, I answer the questions later. We lived here for seven years and. And now we're in the States, but we will come back, of course. And so I guess just pause for a second and I want to feel that with you all. And my question with all of that. I've noticed a pattern that I have had in the past that I would love to move through, which is a. The best way I can explain the energy as I've been praying about it before the call. It's like an energy of like a launch energy consistently for myself in my business. And that's really how I was taught, which I have so much gratitude, right. I was taught by Jeff Walker. Love those guys. A lot of gratitude. But I feel like maybe in my nervous system I've kind of trained this launch mentality where we can bring in a large amount. But then somehow I think I back off and I have some sort of belief that that's enough. And then I feel selfish for wanting more. So I'm really looking at calibrating from a mentor perspective, overflow and consistency. So that's one part. And the other part is I get really frustrated with myself that I'm. And I know, like my mind, like, I know, I know, I know. But I'm really wanting my intentions to be so authentic and so real with all of you in this duality. Like, we can have these amazing things and then there's a piece of me inside that's like, but Terry, you should be way further long than you are, right? You've been doing this for a really long time. Like, what's wrong? And I know, I know, I know, know, know, I know. And I can get really frustrated inside of this, specifically around like visibility, engagement, like effectiveness, impact, influence, and then go kind of into overcompensation on the other side of it, right? And so there's an. I feel it. Like that's where I get frustrated too. I'm like, I'm. I don't even know if it's 2 degrees away. It feels so close. And I feel like this, the energy of the celebration and the overflow and the resting in it maybe is the portal. That's my real Frenchie energy. But that's what I'm bringing, that's what I'm bringing to the call.
I love you all. I'm here.
Bring it. Just let me know.
You'Re the cutest person. Okay, so first things first. I want to say, like, this is why the celebration part is so important, because if you really think about it, where else in the world would people get more. The excitement of. Of Tara, like, joining Unity and getting a squeal from me. Where else in the world would anyone get it more than this group? Because her husband's not going to get it. There's no one. There's nothing he wants to join like that. There's no one that a squeal would make his day. It just doesn't exist.
Right.
And, like, on the Internet, people just don't get this. So it's like, you can't just say it there. And so it's like finding places where you can celebrate. It cracks your soul wide open. Because here. Yes. And it is still scary because it's like, what about all the people who wish they could be in Unity and can't right now? Am I going to bother them? What about the people who think that, am I going to bother them? But it's like, this is the only place. This is the only place. So you've got to trust in people and their power. And this is why I love this community, and I'm really dedicated to building it throughout my life so that we always have places that. To celebrate the things that matter to us and that we find people who know what that means. And here, whether it's a feeling of like, I wish that was me, or whether it's like, what? Or whether it's like, oh, my gosh, we're going to be in it together. Like, no matter what it is, you're getting a reaction here that you probably wouldn't get anywhere else. Yeah. Now, the thing with this question is I actually am very excited for the buyer coming because this. These are very much energetic questions about the buyer. And so there's something that I recognized in my world and in my energy that was a huge shift and a huge difference, is that I have a genuine, actual system. And, like, if I don't, if I quiet the noise of how often I should launch or what I should do, I have a very real presence in my body of, like, I kind of want to talk about something, and, like, I kind of don't. It's there. And if I try to override that with rules or systems or anybody else's plan, I have to fake the energy. And the issue with faking the energy is that it depletes me greatly. If I'm only tapping into the real truth. I Feel like I could fly. Every single word I say, every post I make, everything I do is like I could fly. But when I've got to do it, because if I don't do it, we've got. We're at a loss, or I didn't do what I was supposed to do, I feel depleted every time. And so in the energetics of the buyer, when I empower the buyer more than I empower my ability to sell, which is what a lot of these courses are about, is to give you that confidence that you are good at selling and that you are good at launching, which is. It's a great concept, but the issue with that is that you have to do things to get people to do things, which means if you stop doing things, people stop doing things. Which entirely takes the power away from people and really does create that very linear thought process that is, if I don't do this, I don't have this.
Yeah.
And so in the alpha femme way, what I try to eradicate is that if I don't do this, you don't do this. And instead I say, you're going to do this when you want to do this. And I'm going to be here and ready, sharper than I've ever been, more ready than I've ever been, ready to rock and roll. And I'm going to work on me constantly. So I'm always at my best. So that when you're ready to do this, I'm ready to do this. And then people buy in my launches and after my launches, because the launch is not the sale. The launch is just the party. The launch brings new people into my world. It shows people what we do. It gets people thinking. But I don't use the launch to sell. I use the launch to connect. And I believe the sales arrive on people's aligned timeline.
I think I've gotten, I am, I would say, really good at not doing anything that I don't want to do anymore. That's. That's not a body. It's just not even a consideration. However, the disconnect and the fear then has been, well, then nothing's going to happen. Or when I do do something that's aligned and I don't get the response that I feel like in my ego I should be having that peace that loses faith inside of the time frame piece, you know?
So my feeling with that is, is the missing part is people and their power.
Yeah.
Because if you actually believe that people are shopping, regardless of what you're saying, you're going to take that stress away from you. And you're going to bring in much more powerful people. Because when we make space for people's.
Power, they take it and see this is. The other piece is. And I'm so embarrassed in a way. I really am. When I heard you on a call, I think it was coach or. I don't remember, but kind of. I am embarrassed to say it, but, like, seeing our clients, I think you say chicken nuggets. Is that the. Do you know, Just a little below, not equal.
Yeah.
And there's been a piece of me that's been comfortable there. I think if I'm totally honest with myself, because maybe I don't trust the fullness of my own power or haven't in the past. So the idea of, like, meeting in that equal power, I think there's been a fear that I wouldn't somehow be able to serve.
So you're gonna see in unity, as we walk shoulder to shoulder, how powerful it is to be met that way. And it will change everything for you. Because I will never doubt that I can help you, even though we're the same power. I won't. I won't doubt for a minute. And you will never that I think you're less. And it's gonna change.
That. You know?
Yeah.
That.
That's what's going to change this industry.
Yeah.
It's going to be. The bigness in me sees the bigness in you. Let's go. I don't need to have any power over you to feel like I can help.
Yes.
And even if you surpass me, I still see my worth, and I still could help you see that.
That I want to be a part of that shift and that change in the world.
You are already. Thank you.
Thank you. Because that. That level of ownership, that level. And that also changes the energy of the celebration when we're truly embodying that level of conversation.
Yeah. Because if I genuinely believe that you can do this when I celebrate for me, I do celebrate for you. But if there's a part of me that thinks that I can do this and you can't, I will always feel guilty for celebrating something you can't have.
Yeah.
That's a huge piece of the puzzle.
It's huge. It's huge. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
That's my pleasure.
Thank you all so much.
So, so much love.
I will see you in all the places. Thank you.
I have a unity call soon, but I'm bringing. I absolutely want to bring Kathleen on. So unity women who are on here. We're getting a bonus extra time with Kathleen, and I will probably go over the way I was doing unity anyway. But I need to have this conversation with Kathleen because she dropped off before. But, like, I've been dying for this. So if we can get Kathleen up here, that would be really good. There she is.
Hello, beautiful.
How are you?
I'm so. How are you feeling?
Oh, it was a miraculous recovery, let me tell you.
Of course.
I wouldn't expect anything less. Yeah.
This is my first ever live call with you.
I know. Isn't that awesome? Can you believe it?
I'm excited.
Me too.
Very excited. How are you doing?
I'm honestly over the moon. Like, there's obviously there's always duality, right? But, like, the overarching feeling is like, what the heck is going on? That's a big feeling right now. So good.
It's so fun to watch. I think watching what you do and just with the ease and the love and the joy that you do it in is just so exciting and it's inspiring. I'm like, I remember I saw you one day. You had a million dollar month. Somebody messaged me and they said, that's how I found you. They said, oh, my gosh, Kathleen, there's this woman who had a million dollar month. A million dollar day. Sorry, you had a million dollar day and you've got to check her out. She had a million dollar day. And I was like, no way. That's awesome. And it was just for me, it was like evidence. I was like, yes, I'm next. Because exactly what I thought to myself, I'm next.
Yeah. Beautiful. You have the strongest mind. I love your belief systems. I love the way you see because you've done some pretty unrealistic things. Like, real fast, your growth has been.
Like, yeah, we're approaching 20 million in two and a half years.
Do you even realize the words that are coming out of your face?
I know, I know. It's crazy, but so good. I believed it, you know, I totally did. I believed every moment of it. And it's just showing up for me in a big way and so many other things. But, yeah, it's so good. But I have to tell you, Melanie, and when they. When they talked to me about asking a question, I was like, okay, what is kind of sitting with me right now? Like, what's this feeling? And so I've had a massive change in my life. I ended up getting really sick and having lung surgery. So emergency lung surgery five weeks ago. And the biggest Thing that has shifted for me in that is this desire to take the path of least resistance. Like, I just. I want things to feel easier. And so I wouldn't say that the past two and a half years have been hard. I wouldn't say that. But I feel like there's opportunity for things to be simpler, to be streamlined. And my team is noticing this about me because they'll say, okay, we're going to do this. And I'm like, well, could we, like, take out a couple steps? Or, like, could we just, like, make this easier?
Like, why do we need to do that?
And so I would love to hear from you, like, what kind of assumptions you have going into this, where you can go live, you know, and just have thousands of people enroll in a program. Like, I love this, and I'd love to hear what your assumptions are.
Okay. So many awesome things. I love this question. So, for me, I think it helped that when I started this business, I literally did it by myself. There was no team. I built it to a million with nobody. And so when you've got to do everything by yourself, it's got to be simple. Or else you just overheat and pass out. Like, there's no. You've got to simplify it. And so, because I knew that I could do all the moving parts on my own, I made it so simple that my team would just be like, these are the parts. Like, even our systems are simple. It's like people message us on Facebook and Instagram. We don't have this huge funnel that takes people to a video, to another video, to a sales funnel. It's literally like, you find me, you message my team, they give you a link. We're friends. Like that. That's the simplicity of it. And I think for me, Energetics has always been the thing that shifted my life, my career. It wasn't like I didn't learn something that changed me. I became something that changed me. And it was like, what in my life actually makes me happy? And what makes me happy is a simple, extraordinary life. And so if a simple, extraordinary life makes me happy, a simple, extraordinary relationship makes me happy, a simple, extraordinarily business makes me happy. That's my frequency. Simple and extraordinary. And because it's so extraordinary, it's so simple. Because it's so simple, it's so extraordinary. And so I believe that people are craving simplicity. I believe that we were sold complicated, so we felt we'd need something. But I don't sell based on need. I sell based on desire. And I don't think we want things to be complicated. We want them to be simple. So if I sell simplicity because it's what we desire, I'm already in the right frequency anyway. So how do I keep everything as simple as possible for everyone? Even my Unity application is like a PDF with five questions. It's like you can answer directly here in Messenger. It's fine. You don't need to have a Google thing. You don't have an app, you don't need to download a drive. You don't need to just. This is a picture. Read the question. Answer me here. It's going to be fine. How can I make this the easiest for me, for you, for us? You're muted. Okay, let's see. How can we fix this? Alpha team free. Kathleen.
There you go. I was let out of the mute jail. I love that. And I think it makes absolute sense, too, because I want to help people to create a business that feels so good for themselves, that is simple, is easy, and so I need to embody that myself. And I think what I realized when I had the surgery, I literally didn't do anything for a month. Well, for just about three and a half weeks. So I was pretty much off my social. I didn't teach clients like I had to. It was the greatest surrender, and I know that's why it happened. But the realization now is that things can be so beautiful and they can be so big. And I mean, I've built a big, big business and I'm so proud of it, but I now know how I really want it to be. So, you know, the contrast really, really helped me to see that. But I need to embody that myself. So that's super helpful.
And I think there's this other big, awesome piece that is actually the awesome thing. So you've built this helping a lot of people from nothing. So a lot of people will hire you because they don't know where to start. And you're going to help them. You're going to give them a blueprint and they're going to start. And so there are some complicated things when we start a business. There's a lot of little moving pieces that we haven't thought of. But you have another audience that I really know that you're ready for now. And it's the people who are already making a hundred thousand dollars a month and who are like, I'm sorry, can we pause and rewind and play again the part where this chick just said she made $20 million in two years in slow Motion, please. Can we just hear that part again? Like, there are people who are like, I just want to know how you. I just want to calibrate to that. I want to talk to you, I want to be with you. Let's just talk like, how much does it cost to be a private client? How much does it cost to be in a mastermind with you? Like, I want to plug into those vibes and that is the simplest thing there is on this planet. And so there's a whole other part of your business where you're not helping people start. You're holding people to calibrate to something that they haven't had much. They haven't had much. People showing them that that was possible. They haven't had many examples of that. Like in my whole atmosphere, I know a handful of people who've had a million dollar month, like one handful of people who've done a million dollar month. And so there's not a lot of choice right now for people who are at that like fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety thousand, a hundred thousand dollars a month that are just like, like, I've already done the complicated part. I want to calibrate, I want simplicity, I want energetics. Like, I want that. So as you simplify for yourself, you're going to become an energetic match for not instead of having so many people that you've got to hold with so many little parts and you need a big team with a lot of moving pieces to make sure everything happens smoothly. There'll be this other division to your company that's like, this makes, this is 20% of our customers and it makes 80% of our revenue.
I have so been feeling that I actually like journaled last night about a mastermind and wow, you and I are so aligned. Even your post today, I posted this morning about like five weeks since my surgery and like my learnings and then I go and I read yours and I'm like, that is so similar to what I just posted this morning.
It's beautiful.
Oh my gosh. This is so helpful. You just gave me so much clarity.
Thank you. It is my absolute pleasure and I look forward to seeing you on the next mentor call. I will make sure you know in advance so you can absolutely. This one was just exciting and short notice.
This is so good.
Thank you. So happy. So ladies of the mentor program, I am wishing you on your way. We are going to have another call within a month and I am going to make sure that you have the date very quickly. The alpha team and I are planning the next calls for the invisible offer and the buyer, and everything's coming together. So we are going to have dates for you very fast. I love this group. I love this program. I love this energy. I'm so excited for the future of what happens when we tap into these things. And even if you do tap in and it feels far away in a moment, just trust later there will be this moment of like, you want to celebrate and someone pooped on your parade. And you'll be like, there is a module for that. I know it. And it will feel so good to be able to tap into it. You know, I am grateful for you. You're fabulous. I love you and I will see you on the Internet. Till our next module. We're going to close this down and then I'll be right back in for unity. Bye.
Sam.
