The Mentor - Day 11

Heather Hales leads a mentorship session with Melanie Ann Layer and Brianna on holding energy without evidence and trusting the growth process. They discuss overcoming self-doubt and the work of believing in yourself when there's no proof yet.
Sam.
I am a business artist and I have people become wildly successful at their own craft. We are revolutionizing entrepreneurship. Hello, gorgeous human beings of the mentor program. So let me give you the specs. Let me give you what's happening. Here's what I've decided. So I've decided that it would be very fun to see how this cleaning up of the island goes, that I lead myself through how on earth this wedding is going to end up happening for my brother. There's spaciousness in my schedule in the summer, A lot of things that are happening this year that are different in my mentorship. What I think would be fun would be to add three modules to this program, one a month for the next three months. So to have one at the end of June, one at the end of July, one at the end of August, and to set a really strong context for who we want to be and what we want to do between those sessions. And then I know that I'll be able to lead through what happens. You know, by the end of June, I'll be able to tell you how the, how the wedding went and how we figured it out and how the island got cleaned up. And then by the end of July, I'll be able to tell you, you know, like, there'll be so many things to bring to the table and what I think this will be fun to do. What will be fun about this is that you will also be able to give yourself, like, I want to lead myself in this way for the next month. And let's see how close you come to the things that you desire and holding yourself accountable for longer term between the sessions. So we'll have done back to back to back to back to back to back in this context for so long. And then we'll get to just anchor in three times together because I have other pieces I want to bring you, but I think it would be really cool if you had space to integrate and it'll give us time. Also with the VIPs, they'll probably be longer sessions, just a little longer than an hour and so maybe 90 minute sessions. And that's what I want to do. And I've been thinking, we have been receiving so many private messages about how good this program is, and I am beyond grateful. My team has been showing me all the testimonials and all the private messages and I'm like, I'm so grateful. And I'm. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it fun for you guys to make, put those testimonials maybe an alpha femme, you know, doesn't have to be like all over your own social media, but if it's an alpha femme and then people who are in my world who are considering maybe doing programs with me are able to, to learn about experiences like this one and what's available. And so what I was thinking could be fun is on the last, on the last call, if I make it like a two hour call and I pull a few testimonial, like a few of the top testimonials, or we put all the testimonials in a draw and I draw a few of them and a few of you will have an opportunity to ask some questions and get some feedback on how to angle the question from a coaching perspective to a mentorship perspective. And I think it might be cool for the group to see the difference between a coaching question and a mentorship question. I'll be able to like show you how to angle those questions because right now we are speaking to people who know exactly how to ask mentorship questions because they've had mentorship before, whereas bringing in just a few people who are like, I don't know how to ask the question, which is going to be so cool for you guys to watch. Like this would be how it would look like if you were asking it in the coaching way. And here's how to develop it in more of a mentorship way. So I think that could be cool. And so the only way the easy, it'll be the easiest thing is just to make a testimonial about this program and the Alpha femme group. My team will keep a tally of it and basically your name will go in the draw and we'll drop a couple of people, probably three on the last call. So it'll be like a two hour call at the end. So all the VIPs will get all of their time and then three people. And if you're a VIP, you've got can also write one and get some extra time on the last call. Actually, if you're VIP and you get drawn, we'll do something extra special for.
You because you're extra special.
All right, so talking about VIPs I would love to see if, just before I dive in, if there is either Brianna or if there's Tara here or Delphine who are here and who had something before I get started. So Brianna's here. Did you have anything you wanted to bring to the call today before I get started? You do? Okay, so let's bring Brianna on.
Hi, Melanie.
Hi Hi. So excited to talk with you today. Yay.
I actually have a question that's been developing over, like, the last week, and I'm like, okay. I'm just going to kind of start by saying when I started off doing energy work and channeling and all of this, I had a feeling of. I actually was in very much resistance. I think I've talked to you about this before. I was like, no, thanks, I'm good. I'm just going to kind of do my, like, holistic body world center thing. It's all good. I don't want to do that. I had so much resistance until finally the universe was like, no, actually, you don't have choice. And I was like, okay, fine. And I feel like I was in resistance. And. But then I. As I developed from there, I stopped having so much resistance and was willing to come forward. And I did all of the work necessary to, like, make that happen for myself. And in that place, I really learned how to hold myself in a place where I didn't have evidence for what was coming. You know, Like, I was receiving all these messages. I was getting all of this, like, attunement for my energy work, and I didn't have evidence that it was going to work. And yet I felt like, oh, well, that's okay. I felt confident about that anyway, because I felt like I could move out into the world and see me create evidence for myself. And then I feel like this. This way of holding evidence, holding the energy when I don't have evidence has been something I've developed over time, but I actually feel like I'm ready for, like, the next level. That's where I'm like, oh, this has been something that's been coming. And I feel like I go. And I'm like, oh, yeah, now I can do it at this level. And now I can do it at this level. And I'm like, oh, yeah, this is. I'm ready for the next level of being able to hold the energy without the evidence.
Well, this is good. This is exciting. So what happens when you get to that place where you're like, I'm ready. Like, what comes. What happens to you next? Do you, like, freeze? Do you go into your mind asking yourself questions, like, what typically happens when you get to the precipice of this next level?
Well, it feels like what I've just done, as I have been, like, wanting to hold the. An energy without the evidence, is that I then, like, looked for evidence, which I was like, wait, that actually isn't actually the Thing that's the opposite of the thing. But I definitely am finding that. That I'm, like, starting to look for evidence of whether it's working or not working, this whole thing.
So I think a lot of people can relate to that. You're like, okay, from this point forward, I'm going to go energetics only. How do I do that? I don't know if you guys saw there's a meme going on on Instagram, and it's like, I, of course I want to go with the flow. When does the flow start? No, how it works. We're looking for, yes, I'm surrendering, and how do I do that? So I think the biggest thing is putting it in a different context. This is what's helped me the most. So when I look at. Let's say I go back to the example of Andrew, who's trying to grow and he's not growing. And it's like, let's say he said to me, okay, so I'm ready for my next level. Like, I'm ready to be a tall kid now. I'd be like, that's awesome. What do you want me to say? It's like, what I realized in life is it's the same thing for us when we're ready for a next level. Even in relationships, when you're like, okay, I'm ready. I'm ready for you to go from liking me to loving me. Now. That's good. It's like, there's this declaration of it, but then there's nothing that we can do about it. And that's the most infuriating thing, because it's like, I should be able to do something about this. I should be able to have control over the desire of this. I should be able to just be ready for the. I should be able. If I'm not ready for the next level, what should I do? But what really takes us to the next level is the knowing that we're ready for the next level. Universe, activate. I love that. I'm ready for you. I'm ready for this now. Universe, activate. Nothing. No. What do I do? So it's like, the way I look at it is, if I'm ready for my next level now what? More surrender, more trust. But, like, where am I? Where do I get stuck? It's like, what? Why do I think there's something I need to do? And the mindset that we don't look at a lot of the time is that underlying underneath the surface of all that, there's a subconscious Belief that maybe you're not doing enough for the next level, you're ready for it, and it feels like you need to do something about it, which means subconsciously, there's a belief that what you're doing can't carry you to the next level. Subconsciously, under the surface, there's something telling you, well, if you want to go to the next level, you're going to have to be better or do more or change something, instead of trusting in evolution and growth as a concept. Like, that's awesome. I'm excited that I feel this and let me just keep going. And so when we think of the compound effect in life, nothing changes in the compound effect. Why is it that you put a stick of butter in the microwave and for the first 15 seconds it's an intact stick of butter, and then in three seconds it goes from a stick to a puddle? Did the heat change? Does the setting upgrade? It's like, no, just the compound effect works its magic. Why is it that a penny turns into a million? Is it because the energy of the money changes or is it just the compound effect? That effect eventually kicks in. And so our job is to not pull out, to look at it. Like, if you open the microwave to see why the butter hasn't melted, you stop the compound effect. If you take the money out of the bank account to see, like, oh, how come it hasn't become a million yet? You stop the compound effect. If you stop your trust factor, about your business, your energetics, your role, you stop the compound effect. It's less about doing more and more about stopping the compound effect. And that's actually a really awesome prosperity code for those of you who haven't watched it, the compound effect. Every time we stop to think about it, what we're doing is we're opening the microwave to check and see if the butter is melted. We open the oven to see if the cookies have cooked, and then all the heat leaves the oven every time. And we do this in our coaching business all the time. If you imagine a person running the rate a race at the Olympics that stops to look back every few seconds, there's no way they're winning that race. It's not because they would need to be better and run faster. It's just that if they stop to look back, they've stopped to look back, they stop the compound effect. And when you look at a race, you see it. People are like running laps and eventually there's this momentum that occurs, right? So there's so many different places that we See this? Even in relationships, you're on a roll falling in love. And you're really great with relationships. So you're going to get this. When you're falling in love, you feel it, the butterflies. You're like, oh my gosh, feels so good. And then out of nowhere you go, so are you in love with me yet? And then the whole thing, the whole room goes. And then you have the doubt and the shame. And then you're like, oh, no, you don't need to, you know, you don't need to answer that. That's fine. I'm just going to go home. And then you feel guilty and ashamed and you drive and you cry the whole way home. And it was like, it was so romantic three seconds ago. Why'd you have to check? Why couldn't you just let it compound? It was gonna happen. Why did you have to check? So what would the compound effect look like in your business? How would you keep going if you knew if it was inevitable that this is going in the direction that you want? The next level is inevitable, like your growth or like the seasons change. Would you stop to check or would you just trust?
I would just trust. And I think that that's the thing is that I do. Like, it's like that stopping. It's like, I trust. Can we double check? Like I trust. And also some evidence would be great. And then like, I know I really want to be able to hold the energy without the evidence, but it's like the sounds like the point of that is like, then you just have to hold the energy without the evidence more. Just keep doing that and stop. Stopping.
Yes. Because the thing is, it's so rare, the people who are able to hold without evidence. There's not a lot of people in the world that can do this. It's too hard. People just can't handle it. They've got to ask, so are you going to marry me? So, so let me just check. Let me just open the oven. Let me just see because I'm so hungry and just want to see if the cookies are baked. I want to see if the souffle is cooked. You open the oven, whole thing crumbles. It's like, why did I do that? Why did I look? You know, you don't stop and look back while you're running away from a face eating cat just in case. You got to trust that you're going fast enough and you don't stop until you can't run anymore. You don't stop and check. And so it's like really trusting ourselves. Because most people won't. They won't. They'll stop and check every single time they stop and check. When you're, when you're the one that doesn't, people are like, whoa, that person is magical.
Right. I think that part of it is wanting to check, to see to. It's like I, it's not just like I want evidence that it's working. It's that I want to know that it's okay that I don't have it. It's like, you know what I mean? It's like I want be okay that I don't have evidence that it's working. For it to be working.
Yeah. By the way, a face eating cat is one of those, like, I guess a panther or a, like one of those big ones with the teeth. A jaguar, I don't know, one of those really fast ones. A lynx. Any kind of cat with big teeth is a face eating cat. For those of you who are confused by my analogies.
Yeah, I knew what you meant.
Yeah. Like one of those cats with like teeth that like, like you do not survive this attack, that they get you and they eat your face off. Those are the face eating cat. So here's the thing. When you say I just want evidence that it's okay, that I don't need to need evidence. That's like, I just want to make sure. This is Andrew saying, I know that I shouldn't be so worried about growing. I just want to make sure there's nothing wrong with me. But there's nothing wrong with you. So many teenage boys have a little break in their growth before they skyrocket. I know, but I just want to make sure there's nothing wrong with me. You measuring yourself against that wall one more time isn't going to change that. It's not going to tell you. You know, it's like I just want.
To make sure, like me going to like the doctor. Like I'd be like Andrew going to the doctor and be like, can you just make sure? Yeah, it's all going like the bones are right.
Right.
Like the things are, this is gonna work out eventually.
And you know what? The thing is, he would grow either way, wouldn't he? If there was nothing wrong with him, he'd grow either way. But the difference is what kind of childhood he'd have. One where he was wild and free and running around and, you know, doing the monkey bars and doing all the things that light kids can do and tiny kids can do and creeping under places and playing hide and seek and winning every game of hide and seek because he can. Or spending half his life measuring his back against a wall and being in doctor's appointments because he's afraid he's not going to grow. The truth is, if he's meant to grow, he's going to grow no matter what. So why not enjoy his childhood? And it's the same thing for you when you're meant to be great, you're going to grow no matter what. So why not enjoy your mentorship? Why not enjoy your business? Why not enjoy it? Because when I look back at my career, the thing I'm the most happy about, beyond the growth, is how much fun I had. Not worrying about it. Not worrying who was better than me when there was so many people better than me. Not worrying that I wasn't the best when I wasn't not worrying, not worrying, not worrying. Just actually being one of the only people I knew that could just enjoy being an entrepreneur without comparison. And it gave me a result I never could have expected. And so it's like there's something special about the person who enjoys life. And it's so funny because I'm saying this and I've got a memory. I feel like I may have talked about this before, but, you know, when I used to sell the lint rollers and the mops in the stores, I remember. This was. This is such a vivid memory for me. But there was this. We used to call for adjustment calls if we couldn't sell. It was like, I bombed this show. It's not working. And I was at the Milwaukee State Fair, and I was trying to sell these lint rollers at the Milwaukee State Fair. And I feel like a pushy car saleswoman. Like, you want to feel this, Mr. Sticky? Come here, feel this. It's so sticky.
If you have lint on your shirt.
Sir, do you have lint? Like, that kind of thing. And no one. I'm invisible to the entire world. Like, people are just, like, tuning me out. And the adjustment call I got was, be so focused on what you're cleaning up that it looks like you're doing something really interesting. And I was like. And I don't say anything. Like, you're like, no, nothing. That's not going to work. People are buzzing. The whole place is buzzing.
Trust, okay?
I make a mess on this piece of velvet, and I start cleaning it like my life depends on it. Like, this is the most. The single most interesting thing I've ever done in my life. And I'm not looking up for attention, and I'm not looking up to see if it's working. I'm just doing what they said, like, just making a mess and really, really picking it up with all of my focused attention. And all of a sudden, I heard a voice like, what is that? And I looked up, and I swear there was 15 people staring at me. I couldn't get one person to stop when I was trying. But the minute I was focused on cleaning this mess, people were like, what is she doing? There was this, like. Because in a world where everyone's trying to sell, the one who's focused on what they're actually doing is the most interesting person in the room. And I. And I think that I've taken that to heart in everything I've done after that. I've been so focused on building my business for my wellbeing, for me, for you, for us, that I haven't been trying to get people interested. I've just been doing my focus to work. And as one person gets curious and two people get curious, all of a sudden there's a crowd, and I'm like, I'm just cleaning this mess. Do you want to see how it works? And then they were all like, yes. And I sold so many. And it was like, this is revolutionary. I did catch myself then trying to repeat it and doing it to see if it would work again and be like. And that didn't work. Only when I could get myself to truly be focused on my own stuff without checking did it actually work. And so it's like you create a vortex of energy when you are like, I'm working on something. But when you're like, look, come see what I'm working on. Look, come see what I'm working on. Look and see what I'm working on. Why is nobody looking? Why is nobody buying? Why is nobody this? That energy is like, leak, leak, leak, leak. So many people are trying to be seen, trying to be seen. Not a lot of people know that what they're looking at is worth looking at. And doesn't matter who's looking right now. It's going to work eventually. So all that focus without this makes you so unique. People feel that, like, what's she doing?
Mm, Yeah, I love that. And it also feels like more freedom to, like, not check to make sure that I'm, like, my bones are okay. Like, that's the. Like, they're probably fine. And if they're not fine, it's not like the doctor's gonna be able to give me new Bones anyway. Right?
That's true.
There we go.
And so your quality of life matters more than anything anyway. So you might as well love your business, give it your best, focus on it like it's your absolute best, and trust that that's how you grow an energetic business, because that is how you grow an energetic business. And it's either going to grow when it's supposed to or it's going to grow a little slower. But you're going to have an amazing quality of life either way, because if it wasn't meant to grow, it wouldn't, whether you pushed or not. And you just have no quality of life and no results. So what's the point?
Yeah, it's really good. Thank you, Melanie.
Thank you for that question and thank you for not just taking the first level answer and being like, okay, I'll think about it. Like, thank you for continuing to go until it felt settled because I actually felt the energetic shift in your body from like, yeah, but, yeah, but, yeah, but yeah, like, that was awesome.
Thank you.
All right, next. So let me see. Do we. I think I saw that Delphine was there. Did you have anything, Delphine, or were you just like, I'm here, but I have nothing right now. And I think Tara's also here. Does anyone else have anything before I move into other, other thoughts?
Hey, Melanie.
Hello.
How are you?
I'm good. How are you?
I'm fine. I'm flying tomorrow. I couldn't be more excited.
I'm so excited to see the pictures and to see your adventures. It's gonna be amazing. How long?
Me too.
Three weeks.
Yeah, I'm gonna book a photo shoot there. It's gonna be amazing. So something interesting happened this week. I was invited to the Roland Garros, the tournament, the French Paris Open, by a French bank, as a podcaster from content creator, as like a vip something. It was. It was really great. And I met some very interesting people, other content creators there. And sorry, I took notes because I really had to journal about that. I felt very small because so some of them have bigger audiences, communities. Some of them have. They're kind of more famous, some of them have more money and they're not in the coaching business. They're content creators. Some of them are on YouTube, TikTok, some of them have podcasts and things like that. And so I felt quite small. Some of them I knew, some of them I didn't. And then when you look them up and you see they have 100 something thousand followers on their Instagram and things like That I started to feel small. And there was two sides of this. There was the side of me that was like. Because we had very, very interesting conversations about money, because they were interested in what I had to say and what I was doing. They were not in money thing, not at all. And even though they were invited by a bank, but they didn't have anything to do with money or the energetics of money or not at all. And so we talked about money. We talked about my real estate investments. And I saw they were interested, and I saw they didn't really handle the money well, so they were also interested because of that. But the one side of me was thinking, yeah, you can get this conversation, these really interesting conversations going on with people you admire, people you feel are more advanced than you are. And on the other side, I was feeling not as powerful as usually when I'm around those people. And if I could sum this up in one sentence, I would say I feel powerless around power. And also, I want to mention, because I posted something in a group a few days ago, which. Which was a real breakthrough for me, that I tend to not see people in their power, as I often think I am changing and others are not. And it feels contradictory to me that not being able to see people in their power and also see people in their power and feel powerless feels like.
Being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Sorry.
It feels like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. Like, yeah, this is not good. This is not good. There's not much wiggle room.
Yeah. And also it feels disturbing to me because I left the room thinking, I really want to work with these guys. I knew I wanted to have them as clients, these kind of people. And it was like, I really want to, but of course I can't because I don't feel up to the task, you know, so I'm kind of stuck in between all of that and.
Okay, so this. So, Mr.
Potato.
So the first thing is, you'll notice a lot of the times mentorship questions look like not a question. And so a lot of times people don't know how to ask mentorship questions because they don't sound like a question. But that's perfect, because mentorship questions are often a discussion. And so it means that when you're done speaking and you stop, there isn't really a question. It's just like there's a discussion that's coming. Whereas a lot of time in coaching, it's like, what's the question? Whereas in mentorship, it's what's the discussion. So I really like. I like the way that you just ended it. And we're like, your turn.
Like, your turn.
So a lot of you probably have experienced this before, looking at people that you feel, no, this person will never buy from me. And other people, they're like, oh, my gosh, that person would never buy from me. Then it's like, well, who's gonna. If they. If they're not good enough and they're too good, then what? This is a way that we protect ourselves. So the first most important thing is that. Do you sing?
I do. So how do you know that?
I have no idea. Okay, so can you imagine if you had an opportunity to be invited on a stage to do a duet with Sit In Zion? Would that. How would you feel about that opportunity?
No, that's not possible.
Okay, so let's say never happen. Now you're actually, like, you're on the stage and she's right next to you, and it's time. How do you feel about being on that stage?
Scared.
Okay. What else.
Can you say? Impressionable. Like, yeah, okay. I can feel it. Excitement. Cool.
And so what if I'm shaking? What if she had such a good time with you and she was like, this was so fun for me. Like, I love making music with raw talent like this. Like, this is what I love. And. And she says, like, I'm actually recording with a couple of really awesome artists next week. I'd love you to come. We're just gonna. We're just gonna riff. Like, sometimes it's fun to just have, you know, the fresh, the raw, the ones that haven't been so tired out by the industry that come in and that are, like, fresh with their voice and their style. Like, would you come? There's going to be some really great people there. French singers, English singers, Like, an array of people that you'll know. It'll be cool for you to be there. What would you say?
I'm in. Tell me when and where, and I'll be there. Okay.
So this is the frequency of being one of the greats. What we try to do in the coaching industry for a reason I'm still struggling to understand, is if we're not the best in the room, we're not good enough. In your singing career, you could be in a room filled with the greatest singers and feel like. And in the coaching industry, you'd be like, oh, no, it's the same thing. What if you saw yourself in every room? You walked in where people were amazing that you were Like, I'm in.
I had that also.
So what if you focus just on that and let the rest go?
Yeah, you're right. Because when I left the room, when the afternoon ended, I really felt light. High. No, very high vibes. I was eating my pizza alone in the restaurant in Paris, and I was.
Like.
Something I hadn't felt really in a long time. Everything was slow. I had a bath. I wandered in the. The alleys of Roland Garros. I sat somewhere just taking. Having some sun. And like, I usually don't do that. I don't take time.
I don't rest.
I don't just enjoy being here.
Did we.
Did we actually lose Melanie?
No, we aren't listening.
Okay. I thought you were. You were freezed. So, yeah, I felt this high of. I was. I was. I was one of them. I was here. I could hold all those conversations, and it was really interesting for all of them. We exchanged numbers, and some of them wrote me after. Since. And. Yes. But yeah.
Okay, so this is where you're stretching yourself when you say, okay, I feel this scary thing. It's there. But I also hold this thing, and I'm focusing on this thing even though this thing exists. And I don't need to get rid of this. I don't need to stop feeling this in order to hold this. And now I'm stretching my power because even though there's a part of me that's terrified of who am I, I'm still holding the frequency that I'm allowed to be here, that I belong here. And that's what's stretching my power. Because if it was just easy for me to belong, that doesn't stretch your power if you're just, like, I belong here. There's no stretching of power in order to feel that. But when you're like, such a big part of me cannot even believe that I'm in this room, and the other part is holding the frequency of how great this is, of how wonderful this is. The fact that I'm in. I'm stretching my power in this moment. I'm the mentor.
Yeah. It reminds me of our last conversation, the last conversation about not focusing on my dark sides and my shadows and focusing on building the most powerful and strong women I can be while not wanting to get rid of that. It will work its course, is what you're saying.
Yeah. Like, it's so amazing to see in how many different areas this is showing up for you. It's like the fact that this is there doesn't discredit this yeah. The fear doesn't discredit the confidence. The fear doesn't discredit the courage. As a matter of fact, the braver you are, the more fear is present because there is no courage without fear. So brave people stand out in a crowd. Brave, courageous people, they have a frequency. And so being brave and being courageous is having fear and doing something anyway. So it's holding both. Stretching yourself. When you're holding both frequencies, you're holding duality, you're in your mentorship. And try, try putting it in other industries. Like, how would I re. How would I react if I had this opportunity in a different industry? There really is something about the coaching industry because it's so much about self worth. It's like, it's the thing about conquering the thing that's at the root of all things. And so obviously, the light shines so much brighter on our fears in this industry because it's the root of all things. Like, we are literally conquering the root of all things in this industry. So it's where the heart beats the loudest, it's where the fear is like the most, because it's like this is the root. It's shown in all kinds of other areas of life, but this is the root. And we're literally working with the root of the issue in this mentorship and coaching industry. So it's normal that it's the scariest, it's normal that it's the hardest, but when you heal it here, it starts to ripple everywhere.
How does that resonate with being stuck in. They're not good enough to buy in there. Too good to buy near that.
So now we've got to go in another. Another side. But at first I wanted to go with the one side, which was people who are too good and I'm not good enough. The frequency I found that really conquers that is being one of the greats walking shoulder to shoulder. Well, that completes that. Now the other one is a different coaching, which is so interesting because you are experiencing both at the same time, but they actually are two different frequencies. So the other one is a lot of times what it takes us to stand where we stand and the amount of pressure that we put ourselves under to become who we are. And when we look back at how far we have come, we are proud of ourselves. Even if we are scared to say that we are proud of ourselves, there is a part of us that is like, whoa, I really done a lot. And so when we are looking at people who are just beginning or people who haven't achieved it yet. We are able to see a gap, the gap between maybe who we used to be and who we have become now. And that is an important gap for us because that gap shows us how far we have come. And so it serves us to create that gap. In a lot of cases, it serves us because it gives us circumstantial confidence to see a gap between us and other people. So there's a difference between personal power and circumstantial power. Personal power is regardless of circumstances, I can generate this. Circumstantial power is circumstances help me. So it creates circumstantial power to look at people who are not as successful as us and to focus on the gap between us because it makes us feel and remember how far we've come. The issue with that is that we also create a belief about their ability to do things. And in the mentorship position, that doesn't work. If when I'm having a conversation with you, you feel belittled by me, you feel like, I don't see you in your power. You feel like, I think you're a little less than me. You will never receive what I'm giving you in the way that I want to give it to you. And as a matter of fact, I may cause harm in the long run. Like we saw with Tara, people who literally told her, made fun of her big goal instead of being like, whoa, we're deal with power here. This person believes she can have a $10 million year or $10 million career. Like, we need to get a wiggle on, because we don't even believe that. They were like, let's just poke at her, because there's no way. I don't want to. I don't want to see someone who's nowhere near what I've done tell me that they're going to do more than me. That bruises my ego. So I'm going to shut her dream down right now. And the thing is, it's this. Like, it serves me and my ego to see that I've become better than you. But it breaks my business and the evolution of womanhood to recognize that same thing. So what am I standing for? My ego and my need for confidence or the evolution of womanhood? And so in that moment when you see that, you're like, this person is not there yet, or they're not ready yet, or they're not good enough yet, you got to say to yourself, there is a time where I walked into a room and I knew nothing and a bunch of people probably thought to themselves, she'll never do it. And look at me now. So who am I going to be to this person? Am I going to be one of the people they need to prove themselves to? Or am I going to be one of those people who believed in them from the beginning? I'm so proud to be the one that saw so many people in power. When I have conversations with my clients and they tell me, you've seen me from the beginning and now we're here, like that's the greatest thing. I'm so proud that I had the wherewithal to tell myself. Anyone could have said when I was sleeping in my car, they could have looked at that girl in the car and said, she is going nowhere fast. There weren't a lot of people who believed in Melanie Ann Layer when she was sleeping in her car. It's easy to believe in me now. It would have been quite phenomenal to believe in me then. But that didn't really happen. So because of my experience, I believe in people in their power before the power has self actualized because who they are is just before the greatness. So what I see when I look at people is like, I believe that who you are right now is on the way to the greatness you believe in. And I believe in the greatness you believe in because I know it'll help you get there faster if someone believes. And it will be me. If I can do it, you can do it. If I can go from where I was to where I am, you can go from where you were to where you're going. And I will always be the person who saw it with you. I will. I will never be someone you need to prove against. I'll be the one who believes with you always. Because I know what it feels like for people not to believe because you haven't done it yet. But I believe without evidence. It's my superpower. And so people calibrate to great heights around me because I believe without evidence, it doesn't matter that you haven't done it yet. If you tell me you're doing it, you're doing it. And I know you can, because I did. And it made no sense then and it makes no sense now, and it doesn't need to make sense for you now and it won't make sense when you do it. You're going to wonder how to do it till you wonder how you did it. But if you tell me you're doing it, I believe you. If you tell me you can't I also believe you because you are the one that decides where this goes. I won't push you to believe in yourself when you don't believe, but I will never question your belief in yourself. You tell me you're going places. I say, let's go. You tell me you're going big, big places. I say, let's fly. You say, I'm going to places, Melanie, that you haven't even been to before. I say, show me way. Because if we can't believe in our. In each other, then this industry doesn't exist. It's just about people with money paying each other to pretend there's an industry.
You said something that really resonated. Probably I needed that gap to build some of my confidence.
Yep.
And it's part of my next level. To build my gap, my confidence in myself, my trust on something else.
Yeah. Personal confidence. Not in comparison to just pure untapped potential, because you know it's there. And if you can tap into that, for you, something magical is going to happen is you're going to see it in other people. You're going to see people who say things like, I want to do that. And you'll have no doubt in your body. You'll be like, you can do it.
Yeah, I can tap into that. I. Sometimes I'm arsh.
Yeah.
Sometimes I harsh move with myself. When I say I don't see people in their power. That's not true. I often do it a lot and I. And sometimes I see. I don't. Because I don't know if someone just does one or the other. We probably do both, you know, But I'm just like. A lot of people do. I'm. I tend to be a little bit harsh with myself. So when I see somewhere I'm not, I see things I don't want to see. I tend to just do. I. I can't see people in their power. That's not true. I actually can see people in their power, but, like, not always. So I'm going to build on where I can. And. And I'm gonna, like. Yeah. Move my confidence to a place where it's most. I tap into my personal power and not circumstantial power. This is very. Yeah. This is so huge.
Like, oh, my gosh. And I think a big piece of this for you is like both. Just both. Because when you hold both, you hold duality. When you hold duality, you're in your mentorship. When you understand that, it's when you notice yourself not seeing someone's Power. Instead of saying, I don't see people's power, you say, this is one of those moments where I'm not. So could I also, without being mad at myself, see their power now and just hold both? Can I hold both for me? For you? For us? Can I hold both?
Why is it always black and white? At least for me, not for everyone.
For a lot of people, we've been taught it's black and white. It's right or wrong. It's good or bad. It's yes or no.
I'm this or that. I'm. You know, why can just I be both? I wrote something very, very nice. I actually wrote something about that I can spend like crazy and also save like crazy because. And yeah, I wrote something about it. I'm a complex. Everyone is a complex human being. So we can do both. We can spend like crazy and save like crazy at the same time or in our life or. And yes. So I need to apply this to other areas also. I can be this and be that. Can be a very nice person and sometimes probably an asshole. I don't know.
Maybe.
Maybe I am. But yeah, like, and also know that I can be great at things and also sometimes not be as great as I hope I can be. But working on this, this is huge.
And I really feel like this might end up being a very big part of your mentorship is like a duality mentor for the person who wants to have both or all.
Yeah. Oh, thank you.
It is my pleasure. This was awesome. Fantastic shares. So here's what I want to. Here is what I want to do to, like, bring it in, ring it in for us before our next call. That's going to be in about a month from now. We'll set the three calls up for you in the scheduler and we'll email you all the things. But this is what I would love for you to play with during the next month of your life. Every single thing you do from a place of alignment pays. In the long run, becoming an energetic match for money is just understanding that the things that you do from a place of alignment will generate money. And so what I found in being a mentor is that I don't have to focus on money as much because the money comes when I'm in alignment. Every single thing I do, like, literally, I buy my mom a Rolex and someone says, that's always been my dream. I'm joining AFE because of that. I buy a dream home and people are like, I've been watching your life. And I realized this is exactly the life I want. I love your teachings. I love you. But now that I see, like, you're literally. You have the life I want, I'm in without. I haven't sold a thing. There's just something. Your relationship with Kevin, there's something about it I really know. You're the person I want to lean, learn from, because I have a lot of success, but I have this belief I can't have a relationship. And the fact that you hold both like that, I just can tell this is. This is what I want. The way you treat your sister. I love what you just did. Oh, my gosh. It's my dream to have a Lamborghini. Oh, my gosh. My dream to have that you have that you did that you went there. I love how you do the simple things in life. I love that you made time to go to the apple orchard. I love that about you. I love that you capture the sunset. I love that you. It doesn't matter what it is. When it comes to mentorship, every single thing I do from a place of alignment creates more wealth in my life. If I'm in that mentorship identity that I literally see that everything I do is inside of this context. Everything. Everything I am, everything I do, everything I have, it's part of my brand. And so being a mentor is a vocation. And you can create a brand that holds that vocation for the rest of your life, where literally every choice you make is in alignment with your care. Every choice you make is in alignment with your relationship, your life, your love, and it makes you a better person in the process. I think this is why I so adore this vocation, is because I've chosen something that will make me a greater human being for the rest of my life. And I think that that is the most beautiful thing. We're speaking about, seeing people's power instead of needing them to prove their evidence. We're talking about being able to give and receive love freely without needing people to prove or without us needing to prove ourselves constantly actually coming from our fully aligned self with abundance and. And full power. You know, it's like people who do this change the world, and then on top of that, we get to be extremely beautifully compensated for every single thing that we've done in this lifetime. Like, the mentorship becomes a vocation, becomes something that will pay you on top of making your life as great as it can be. So what I would love for you to do is to look at what are some things in your life right now? That you maybe have put on the back burner because you don't think that they fit in your life, things that you're like, I wish I had the time to do that, but I don't because my job is too busy or my life is too busy, and I don't have time to do that. And what would it look like if you took that one thing and said, I am going to lead myself through this thing? Like a mentor. Like, I could literally mentor my way through all of the construction and the renovations that are happening in my life. I could mentor my way through those things. How do you mentor your way through building a team or adding a new person to your team when you don't really have time to interview people? But what are you putting on the back burner? Because it doesn't seem important? And how could you highlight it as something you're mentoring your own self through? And what would happen if between now and our next session in a month from now, something that's been on the back burner for a while for you took the forefront as an opportunity for you to mentor your ship, mentor yourself into this thing being completed. And so my intention is that by our next mentorship call, the island looks different. Like, I want to be able to show you pictures of an island that makes me smile. And I'm going to lead myself through tidying it up. I'm going to lead myself to creating space so that this wedding is everything it needs to be for my brother. Like, that is my biggest focus. That when we talk again in June, I've got pictures to show you of an island that makes us all grateful for nature and moved and inspired that it came together and that it's healing. Like, that is a big project. As well as running my business as much as, you know, taking care of my niece and her birthday and Kevin and my mom, my sister and my family and my friends and everything that I've got to do. And we're going to have a team meeting with the team in the meantime. There's so many things that need to happen, and I've got the buyer that's going to be coming soon, and there's going to be a masterclass before that. There's so many things that are coming, but. And it would be so easy to move that island to the back of my mind, because it's the thing that makes me sad and it's the thing that doesn't make sense financially. Like what? How does fixing the island have anything to do with my business? It has Everything to do with my business. Business, if I'm a mentor. Because the things we make space for because we choose to is what makes us extraordinary. It's the story of everybody's life that the things that matter to them don't get tended to. It's the story of everybody's life that the most important things don't get seen to. Not us. We are the ones that make the dreams come true. We're the ones who model a life of dreams. And for that, it's important that the things that matter to us are tended to and are seen to as well as everything else. But it's all about context. Because so often people say, I don't have time for that. Except they'll watch Netflix X amount of time hours a day. Or they'll scroll looking at people that they're angry at on social media for hours a day. Or get all caught up in the Amber heard Johnny Depp thing. Oh, no, don't do that. I got caught up in that. Don't do that. That takes a lot of time that. Don't do that. It's not good for my soul. Not good. Don't do that. I don't have time. I don't have time. Next thing I'm like, no, this is preposterous. Been watching this thing for way too long. Turn the phone off, go do something else. So you're going to get stuck in things in life that distract you, and then the things that are most important to you, you won't do. And you'll say, I don't have time. But it's not sure that you don't have time is that it didn't go priority. So what's the thing you're prioritizing? So I would love if at the end of this call, you go in the group and you say, here's the one thing that doesn't seem like it's a part of my business right now, but I've been putting it on the back burner. And every time I think about it, my heart's like, ugh, what's that thing? And can you put it as part of your self mentorship program? Your self mentorship program plan that by the time we meet again in about a month from now, you can say, I mentored myself in this and I am so proud of me and we can set something else on the path. And so if you feel in your body that this has been an incredible program and you have something to write about it, you can write it directly in the Alpha Femme group, the team will let them through and then I'll get to read them and I may feature some of the best ones on my social media. Also, like, this is, this is something that I loved is to know your feedback about these things. It's so great. And then I'll put all the ones that do testimonials in a draw and we'll be pulling names for a few people to get some live coaching, mentoring on the last, last call. So thank you so much for this. This pocket of time, of us together has shown me something really beautiful. It has shown me that there is something about evolving my programs. There's something else about bringing in a brand new frequency and just letting myself be free to speak at my current level of comprehension. This is, this has opened something for me. I think there's going to be a lot of fun, exciting things coming in the Alpha Femme brand and I think it's going to be fun to have maybe different levels in Alpha Femme to say, like, this is maybe what you do for the first year or so. And then there's good, this is the next level. And then there's another thing. And then there's another thing. Like, I feel like there's an expansion beyond my refinement. There's an expansion that's even just beyond the next level of the same conversation. And this program showed me that. So thank you for being here. Thank you for being so open. Thank you for all the VIPs who showed up and really brought such incredible nuance and depth to this program. Like, oh my gosh. And I'm excited. We will have more. Like every call, every module we have, the VIPs will be there. So we'll make sure to let you know well in advance. You can put them in your schedules and be there because there'll be more mentorship for you in these three upcoming calls as well. So you'll end up getting more than we thought in there as well. And I'm happy about that. So I love you. I'm so grateful. Thank you for this incredible journey. Mentor yourself. Kindly hold both. First of all, we're going to do both and we will meet again in one month from now. I love you and I'll see you on the Internet. Sam. I am a business artist and I have people become vibrantly successful at their own craft. We are revolutionizing entrepreneurship.
