A Group Practice Is a Baby Ecosystem

Setting up operations. A group practice is like a little baby ecosystem, and so all of these different things need to be in place in order for it to run smoothly. As a reminder, I did not do any of these things correctly or effectively or in a streamlined way, but now a bunch of years in, Rose Wellness is a well-oiled machine. So we're going to talk about the different pillars of your standard operating procedures. So the 3 operational pillars, if you will, are admin, billing, and then clinical oversight. And so admin is going to be all of these day-to-day logistics. Billing is obviously billing, whether it's self-pay or insurance or both, everything that has to do with billing. And then clinician oversight. So even if you have 1099 contractors, if they're not writing their notes in a timely fashion, that can come back to bite you in the butt, not only them, especially if they're under supervision. And so there is a level of clinical oversight even if they are fully self-employed 1099 contractors.
