so many of us were drawn to this field because of our own wounds. I mean, I'm sober and I've been sober since I was 20 years old. While I said I never wanted to work in the field of addiction, I worked in the field of addiction for many years. And so it's like my own wounds in the recovery, sobriety, addiction lived experience led me to become essentially a wounded healer. I know so many people that have lived experience of eating disorder recovery, and so they specialize in eating disorder recovery. All of the things are so much informed by our own lived experiences, but far too often we overlook our clinicians and their wounds and their lived experiences. And if we can bring that space and that awareness that we so naturally bring to our clients, to our clinicians, everyone is benefiting.
