Live Stream. Good morning. Welcome to this creative booster session. Super excited to see you and I'm also equally getting excited. The reason being we are getting very close to design Live Stream. Okay, so Design verse is going in full swing and we have planned it on November 2nd and 3rd. It's going to be a two days workshop for sure. Please do participate and link will be posted in the description below. I will just open a short window so that everybody can register in that, so that you guys can take an advantage of coming in for better cost or maybe no cost at all sometimes.
Okay.
Yeah. So today what we are going to see is one of the very important skill guys.
Okay.
In fact one of our student has asked this question and what do you call? Yeah, this is pretty common and we had this question quite long back as well. But it was coming in a very different way. Guys, please switch on your camera. Everybody. I, I where you were you able to switch on your camera? Yeah, I think permission is there. I given you. Everybody has the permission, guys. I mean there is nothing like panelist or something.
Okay? Yeah, sure, sure, sure.
Fine. Yes. Guys. So what's happening about this particular interview process is people are going in ups and downs, people are getting rejections. So yesterday we saw about why rejection is a part of the process. Yesterday we saw about like why it it has to be taken in a positive way. Why the reason is like rejection is a part of process. We have to evolve. We have to do lot of interviews in order to get us more what you call sharpened towards getting the final job. Right. So that's the point. We are doing that. And similarly today is one of the topic which our student has asked. Just give me a second, I'll just share the screen. She has asked a question. Salary negotiation and how to get interview calls.
Okay.
In fact the how to get interview calls we have little bit talked about in the last week. But we have not talked much about the salary negotiation part so far.
Right.
So I'm going to tell you about that. Like let's say if you are getting into the interview, I and then if you are completing the interview and then you're getting hired, okay. They are offering you something. So how do you really understand that? Okay, see the word negotiation is very different here. Before the start of the session, I, I'll make it very clear, okay? It is there, there are two terminologies. One is called bargain, another is called negotiation. Okay, guys, if you come on camera it'll be better because if I see your face and then if I'm able To explain you. That would be very, very nice for me as well too. You understand, right? See, as a teacher or a mentor, you imagine my situation. If nobody is there in front of me. It feels a little weird for me. That's why I do live sessions. It makes me also feel very live. And based on the feedback of the students, what they answer, my session will be very customized according to that.
Okay?
Yeah. Okay. Fine. Get back. So there is a huge difference between bargain and a negotiation.
Okay.
Bargain is actually going to a vegetable shop.
Okay.
How many of you have did bargain in vegetable shop? Nana, give me this tomato for 20 rupees. No, no. Give me for 15.
Now.
It's okay. Now give me for 10 rupees. Now. Nothing. How many of you have did that? Raise your hands. Right. You have did it, right? You have did it. We all. We all have did it. Or way we. One or the other way. We would have already tried that, right? Okay. What does mean by negotiation?
Then?
Could you type in the chat box? Could you type in the chat box? What do you mean by negotiation? There. Come on guys. Could you please type in the chat box? What is mean by negotiation? If this is bargain, what is mean by negotiation? Come on. Can you type in the chat box? I'm.
I'm.
I'm able to read only one comment. Mutual Varg. Okay. Okay. Not exactly right. But anyway, it's a good attempt. What about others? What about others? See guys, if you're able to type, only I will be able to understand what is the level of knowledge this room has. So from that I can able to teach that. It's not like I'm teaching on the one end and you guys are on the other end. Not. Not even focusing yet. I don't want that.
Okay.
We know the value of a product. Then we discuss to bring profit. Compromising on discussion. Compromising. No, this is. Okay, fine. To start with, maybe the perspective is good to start with. But going forward we will have to understand that.
Okay.
We know the value of the product. Then we discuss to bring profit to each other. Mutual. Okay, good. What about others? Only three people have typed in the chat. What about others? Get something to our expected price.
Okay.
Put it in an even more formal way, guys. Okay, Little bit. People are getting closer. Can you put it little more. What you call. Try it one more time. Try it one more time. Yeah. Has sh. Come on. Let's see. H. See guys, if you're not initially trying that. What is mean by differentiation of bargain and negotiation? It is very difficult for us to Start this session. The reason being if I teach something then you will not stick to it. You will not be able to remember it for a lot of time. But when I give this example, trying to get the product what it is worth for. Okay, fine guys, people are getting little closer. I'll tell you the difference. Okay? See, negotiation is a strategic conscious call. You know what you're asking for. In bargain, you don't know what you're asking for. How many of you this is. Understand how many of you this. You understood what I said. Now negotiation is a strategic call which we're making using a strategic data inputs, points, rationals and facts in front of us to bring the discussion to the favor of advantage.
Right?
Favor of advantage. It's not about you're doing favor for them or you're doing favor for you. Favor as an advantage. But bargain is something like a vegetable vendor. What you're doing, you never know whether you will win or not, right? If you're operating with a bargain mindset, you already lost this game. Please don't play it. This is not a vegetable vendor game, okay? In fact, vegetable vendors should be fixed with the proper prices, according to me. But the point here is we are all bargaining with these people because we think they are very low people. They don't know how to talk or they have only this as a dependency. So we take an advantage.
Okay?
So we don't go and bargain in a Nike showroom. Right? A simple T shirt of Nike costs thousand rupees. Thousand. Two thousand rupees. We can't even bargain one rupee there, Right? Right. We can't do that. So we are unnecessarily pressurizing ourselves in. In the places where we can't.
Okay?
We are doing what you call unfavorance for the vendors who is giving that services. Right? This is also unfair. Knowing that this brand is this costly, not even worth for that. But we are paying that and coming, right? So it's an unfair exchange is happening. What does mean by negotiation is. Negotiation means a very fair exchange between the two parties achieved through a strategic way of having facts and figures in front of you. Okay, Jagdish, this is what is salary negotiation, how to do it. If you wanted to do it in a strategic way, you need data. You need to collect information about the market average. You need to collect information about what is the trend for this particular role, what salary and what benefits are they giving. See, negotiation is not only salary. I'm saying, please understand very carefully. Negotiation is also for the benefits. The pf, the perks, the renumeration, the entire salary components, whatever you're getting. And also the projects, what you're getting and also the work life balance, what you're getting. Everything needs to be negotiated before you go into a job. That is why it is very vital to collect a lot of information.
Okay.
You can win this discussion only when you collect a lot of information. Oh Jagdish. They have given me 8 LPA salary. Let me negotiate to 10 LPA. It doesn't work that way. If they are saying 8 LPA, bring the components of the salary. What is the full, what is the pay scale? What is the what you call in hand? What are the pf, what are the tax percentage, what are the benefits, what are the renumination, what are the bonus, what is the yearly appraisal, what are the hike will be given, what is the travel charges and other things. So break down all these things. And then what is the role you're working? Where are you staying? Which place are you located? Is it a Bangalore based studio? Is it a Delhi based studio? If it is a Delhi based studio, 8Lp is nothing. If it is a Bombay based studio, 8Lp is Nothing. If it is a Chennai based studio, at least 8 lpa is decent. So it changes based on the location, cost of living and many other factors. You will have to understand. Because you have to pay for the rent, you have to pay for the food. You have to pay for the cost of living over there to get things for your home and all. So for working in a city like Bombay or maybe, maybe Delhi, 8 LPA is not really, really good. So you will have to ask sir, if I'm coming to the Bombay and working, you will have to understand that 8 LPA, it's not manageable. Even though you're giving 30% hike, 40% hike. I understand. But to work in this city, it will not be making sense for me even if I come there and doing it. I will be putting money from my pocket for my expense. And I have to travel back for my family at least three months once from Delhi to Chennai or maybe to Bangalore to watch to. To come and see them, right? So please confirm me if you can able to give me a better value proposition. So you need to collect this much of data, calculate and be a very good what you call decider when it comes to talking about these things. That is why you need to have a support of your mentor. You need to have a support of your accountability partner or whoever is guiding you completely from end to end. See, recently we cracked Sneha's thing.
Okay.
See we have not gone into the salary negotiation part. But the thing is when she would have talked about that part definitely would have gone deeper. We had a little bit of discussion but about the salary LP and all. But the reason why I'm telling you this is each and every discussion is different. It cannot be put in one formula. Hey Jagdish, you. You give me one PDF. Let me memorize. No, it will all depend on the case to case. Company to company, salary to salary. We negotiated 13.5 lpa last time with Sudha. We had a 13.5 lpa with Aravind last time. In fact Aravind discussion was much easy. We got that there is a guy called Surendra. That discussion went really long and we had some ups and downs. In fact we little bit lost it. We could not able to get it. There is another student who got 4 lpa recently. Not 4 lp. Huh? 4 lpa. One girl got 4 lpa. Yeah. Like the thing is that was a very fair exchange. You see, even though the salary was less but the learning what she's going to get is extremely higher. From Chennai she got a job offer. She was happy, right? I also understood the company. What role they're having, what proposition they're giving, what training they're having. So she's getting four lp. That is really good. And she said after three to six months they are making her confirm. I said that is not going to ever happen. You will have to negotiate it now. So she was like how do I negotiate now? You know you will have to do it. Because if they are saying after three to six months we can see you based on performance. What if they say you are very pushed performing, you are not up to the mark. There is no guarantee, right? So you will have to confirm it. What is the measure are they having for you to evaluate? So see, this is all called negotiation. You will have to do it everything up front. Not after that.
Okay.
And I'm going to give you some kind of information today of when you can do this negotiation.
Okay?
So I've been telling you a lot of things. Maybe you will not be able to get it in one go. So what I'll do is I'll try to put it in a form of a mind map so that you guys will be able to get it clear. Just a second. Just give me a minute.
Just a second guys. It.
Okay, fine. I've just opened.
Sound.
Fine. Were you able to see my.
Screen?
So we are in the day 33 negotiation. Spelling is little wrong.
Okay.
Anyway fine, fine. Salary negotiation how to get interview calls. See, good portfolio we are not covering. In fact that person has asked me good portfolio also. But enough content has already been recorded for portfolio. Okay, don't worry about that part. It's already there.
Okay?
In fact you can watch the mission what we completed Mission 8. It's uploaded in your learning management portal.
Guys.
Okay, please go and watch that. I mean those secrets what I told you about the portfolio people have not heard it before. This is a very very special class what we conducted and we have gone into the so much deep of portfolio. So please go to that mission 8 and watch that in Hackathon.
Okay?
Yes. So what is the skill overview? Salary negotiation directly impacts your career and financial stability. Let's talk in reality guys, if you're not winning this salary negotiation with the value what you're thinking in mind, you already lost the game. Every year on year you are getting a low salary. Are you understanding your lifestyle, your quality of choices of your products, what you buy? The economic engine of your life totally depends on that. That is why it is a very strategic call what we're making.
Okay.
And targeted job applications and networking boost interview calls. We know that pretty much we are doing that.
Okay.
Particularly Nancy is from. Nancy was the person who asked this question to me. So Nancy was focused on tech and arvr.
Okay.
So for these industries focus on the growth. Like let's say the focus on technology, ar, VR, product industry for growth. Using this we'll have to think about strategic negotiation. See, sometimes you may be working for a service industry, sometimes you may be working for a. Like let's say your industry could be like let's say consulting. Like let's say some industry could be mnc. Some industry could be design studio. Some industry could be just service. So think about what is your. Sometimes it could be product, sometimes it could be innovation and research. See, I don't know why a lot of our people are not approaching in research and innovation related studios. See, if you approach in research and innovation studios, you will have a much better edge to talk. Okay, I'll tell you why. Because you can able to send a proposal where they can foresee what is going to happen. So based on the type of industry, you have to use your method accordingly. Okay, so industry focused, it should be based on that. Second, why this is important. See guys, fare compensation is a part of our everyday day to day life.
Okay?
You will really get demotivated if it has not been fairly compensated. There Are many techniques for fair based for fair pay based on expertise and boost interview opportunities. Right. Strategies increases interview calls and career growth. Anyway, the strategy is all coming from your Codex document. The targeted industry is coming from your Codex document. And then your search and the interview call and the person who is going to interview you. The initial interface, what you have with the company people, everything is already done. What happens is they are saying that will itself improve your salary growth. Take anything. That is why it would be easy for me to get you 2x or 3x very faster. When you do it by this way, if you go by the conventional job search process, I will tell you what will happen. Let's say if you are getting 5 LPA next year, you will be given 5.5 LPA or 6 LPA. Max to max average industry hike percentage is 4 to 7%. How many of you don't know this? If you're not making a career switch, going for a proper job, you are already losing out on great money.
Okay?
But when you make a career switch, you can able to even go up to 6x. Some of my students have got 6x.
Okay?
Maybe in the future somebody else can also get 10 10x. I don't know. Like people are trying hard. Definitely they'll get it.
Okay?
But the fundamentals are same. When you make the career switch, you can able to do it. Imagine if you stay in this for another two years, what happens again? 4, 6, 7 percentage happens, right? Then you'll have to understand you can make another switch. See, it's not only for salary. It's also for getting the grip of your career. Which is the suitable industry for you. Suitable vertical and horizontal for you. Suitable role for you. Suitable work life fare exchange job for you. In order to find that you will need at least three switches to make. You cannot get it in the first switch.
Okay?
Then and only you will be able to get the Super 2X or 6X. This is how the career growth happens. And you'll have to understand this.
Okay?
Industry relevance so specially focused on this AR VR. I already told you that. Okay, so what are the common mistakes to avoid? Not researching the industry. Yeah. Finding shortcuts, lack of salary research weakens your negotiation stance. I told you salaryhike.com and in fact we have prepared a recent gift, guys.
Okay?
That is top 25 tools of the industry to get you search about that particular industry statistics and analysis.
Okay?
We're going to give that. In fact, that is a gift for the people. Whoever is saying I already gave you this challenge but anyway, today I'm keeping it open because nobody has reached me. Maybe you would have done it, but you have not reached me.
Okay?
Today before you sleep at 10 o', clock, if you can tell me that. Jagdish, I got five people interview callback.
Okay?
Let's do one thing. I got one people interview callback.
Okay?
You have to show me that person has invited you for the interview. Because the gift what I'm going to give you, it will be only useful when you get to the stage, okay? Having that before is not the point. And you should not share with others. It's only for you. Got it? So I'm going to give you powerful tools. 25 tools, okay? Your entire life is set. You will not have any problem for job search process when you use that. Using that tools you can able to build a great reservoir of data for salary negotiation points, okay? This is a very very immensive tool. Recently we have prepared that, okay? In fact I have kept this as a gift for the design. Verse for the design was a lot of people are coming so. And. And I should not just like that leave the people empty handed, right? So I'll have to give them a great gift apart from the cash prizes and I mean the 1 lakh gift, whatever we are giving. So this I prepared there. But for the people who are telling me interview call, okay? Don't tell me that somebody is emailed you for the interview and all. You have to confirm the interview time date and then go and attend it. So that confirmation, if you tell me then I'll be giving you this gift, okay? Because you'll have to use that tool to understand about the company and prepare a salary negotiation strategy, okay? That's the thing. And applying without tailoring application, very very common mistake. Don't even tailor. Make your applications and just do a generic reductions. Oh no, generically. Give me 6 LPA. No no. 8 LPA. No no. 7 LPA. Don't talk numbers, talk value. If you're not talking value, you're already lost starting salary discussions too early, okay? That's why it's very important if you know about the industry, if you know about the company and everything, you know that people will ask you what is your expected salary? Initially everybody will ask you, okay, what you should tell at that time. Tell me guys, what you should tell when somebody ask you what is your expected ctc? Tell me. I want everybody to open your mic and tell me live. I'm not moving forward. If no answers are coming again, please switch on your camera. Everybody Guys, switch on your camera. Generally it will be fun. Yeah, go ahead.
So if you have the experience. So we can negotiate according to that. That you don't have. You can expect according to that online on like glass door salary hike.
Tell me what will you tell? Average number or whatever is according to you. You have some.
You have some experience. If you have that experience, you can tell up to 10 to 12 lpa. If you don't have the fresh experience, we can take up to 6 to 7.
Okay. So K is saying some numbers. Is it correct? Guys? Shivas, punish, Hasi, Surendra. I'm asking you question. Is it correct to answer like this? Come on guys, be interactive. We are not moving forward. Because every day I'm presenting the slides and I'm talking. No, you have to return. You have to talk. You have to interact. Then only the session is going to be very, very knowledgeable. Go ahead. Go ahead. We have to always buy time. Buy time. That is great. Superb. Type out. Type out in the chat. Guys, what do you think this answer is? Right or wrong? I'm telling. It's super, right? Okay, good. What else? What else? What else? You. You put the very first point. Next. Guys, think about it has. You also think it's. It doesn't mean you answered rightly. You answered partially right.
Okay.
Go ahead. Go ahead. Is it right to tell 6lpa 12lpa to the HR when they ask you. I'm asking you a question, guys.
I think only one. Only one expected salary like 10 lpa. If someone ask like who should ask him? Like this is the value that we are giving and we should. We should get like 10 NPA for. For. In return.
You should get 10 LPA in return for the value what you're offering. Okay. Tell me whether this is correct or not. Guys. Guys, respond me fast. We'll have to move for the. Because.
Like.
First we need to research like what is the salary range for experience that you have. And you have to talk to HR about what is their budget.
Very nice. Surendra is in right track. What did he say? You have to talk to them about what is their budget. So every time when a question is asked, remember you should always ask a question. Please don't answer that. Please don't tell. Yes, no prematurely. Please don't accept for anything.
Okay.
When they ask what is your expectation? Ctc, you have to tell what is your budget planned for my candidature. Okay, what you will tell? Tell me again one more time. Type out in the chat along with me what you will tell Guys, many people are losing out lot of interview chance by not knowing how to ask the right questions at the right time. I don't know what is the problem. See now a lot of people are telling numbers. This, that and all these people will not get the interview chance that interviewers will take an advantage of you. They tell no, we needed to get some numbers from you. Then and only I can talk to my management. Okay ma', am, you get to your management and tell me what is the budget you can able to offer. No, no, no. You tell me Jagdish. I will first talk to my HR team and all you tell me if they pressurize you like this. You have to tell Ma', am, I cannot put my career in risk by telling some random numbers. There is a market average for this role which I know. There is a budget for your company which you know. It has to both come hand in hand and please get back to me with the exact number. I can understand that you are not a decision maker. Please connect with the person who can able to decide on that so that we can have this discussion. First of all, let us understand the value what we are going to exchange. If both are good, then we can talk about this. Or else it would not be appropriate to do that. You are not talking any numbers here. Please understand this very carefully.
Okay?
Telling early about the salary and discussion is very very wrong. You will have to wait for the right time to talk about it.
Okay.
The thing is you can also do in other way. You can extremely do it at the first hand. Also like let's say if somebody's saying like let's say for this role we are going to only offer you 4 lpa.
Okay, great.
Ma'. Am. So for this role you're going to only offer 4 LPA, right? I have one year experience as a UI UX designer. And your role you're going to give me a project independently to handle. You're a tech based industry and you're going to give me only 4 lpa. Is it right? When you ask this question like this and then when you pause, people will think if they still say yes. Okay Ma', am, can we have the interview? Because I'm not able to decide based on that salary is my third important discussion. First, I will have to check the cultural and fit of the company with my long term expectation. Second, I'll have to see what is the role suitability, what I have. I'm equally interested and excited and getting help from your team in order to learn myself a lot. If These two things are okay. Salary if it is compensate. Mean if it is compromisable, I can able to understand first, can we have the interview first, can we complete a design task first, can we get into the next stages? If these two things are not okay, then I will not be happy with the salary.
Okay.
You will have to always get to the next stage. You should buy time, get stage, buy buy time. So sometimes salary negotiation starts early. Sometimes salary negotiation starts in the between. Sometimes salary negotiation start at the after. So remember, based on each and every interviews, each and every opportunities, you will have to get to know when is the right time to ideally talk. If you are getting to this level of clarity, only you will be able to know, guys. And the point is it is not a one size fits for all. Sometimes it will not be in a linear way. Sometimes it will go in a very non linear way. Sometimes the people will again and again ask what's your expected ctc? What's your expected ctc? I mean those companies are wrong. Please leave them. They are not strategically driven. They're just looking at some numbers. They don't want the candidates full skill to be taken to be considered and based on which they will give value. You should not apply for those kind of an industry. You should tell. Ma', am, this is my career. If you're asking me to tell some numbers numbers, what would I tell you will it? I mean it should make sense for you as well as me, right? That's the reason I asked you. Bring the person who can able to decide that. See if I'm telling you some random numbers, what will you do with that? If you're not telling, Testing my skills, not understanding what my real potential is. And then you're talking some numbers. I don't think this company is really suitable for you. Suitable for me? I'm really sorry, ma'.
Am.
Thank you for reaching out to me. Bye bye. Cut the call. That's it. If you don't have this kind of a confidence, don't expect 2x3x career growth in your profile. I'm telling you, I don't know how to talk like this. Then get low salaries and settle for that. Either one thing should happen guys.
Okay?
Either this or that. You should not stay in middle. Either settle for low salaries or talk confidently and get 3x4x salaries.
Right?
This is the only way people have got it. There is no G boom Bondal. You have to talk. You will have to understand the facts. You will have to do some research in this salaryhike.com. about the 25 tools which I'm giving you everything you will have to understand. Bring the average value, take down the city, what you are applying for and take down the yearly bonus what they are going to give and take down the total salary components. Whatever is there, come and discuss with me and then find out A gap. So one of our student recently he got two racks as a joining bonus. Relocation bonus. Sorry. No, no no. 2 lakhs as a joining bonus. 60,000 as a relocation bonus in his salary component. 2 60,000. Just by talking are you guys understanding? We will have to ask it. If you are not asking, we will not get it. Who said not to ask? It is the responsibility of a HR to answer you all of these questions. That is why they are paid for. But are we asking? No, we are just like that. Leaving. Oh 6,7 LPA. We'll talk only that number and then we'll leave. No understanding that 68 LPA. What is a fixed component? What is the variable component? How it is variable? Is performance is fixed. Like let's say based on the performance. What 5 scale? 4 scale. 3 scale. Different company has different rating. To achieve that 5 scale what are the deliverables? Ask this question and you have to tell. Ma', am, many companies tell this three months after will confirm you. But there is no measure for me to.
For.
For you to tell me that what parameter are you going to measure? Me simply you can also tell that, right? Getting the all work from me free of cost for this three months you can also tell that. So let's set the parameters. Let's talk to the design team first. I understand you are from a HR team. I wanted to talk to the design team before taking this call. If you are not talking clearly about this rationals beforehand, it makes a lot of problem. Okay, so let's talk about two things, guys.
Okay?
In fact the pain point is about getting interview calls and about mastering salary negotiation. Okay, let's talk about that. See, we have talked enough about getting interview calls, research and target the right companies. We have detailedly discussed it. Go to the mission 3. We have gone so deep into it. Okay? In the hackathon, people who wanted to learn from the basics, how to find out the gaps in the industry, how to choose the right industry. Go to the mission three. And also I've given you a lot of tools and activities.
Okay?
So focus on companies, alignment with your expertise, leverage your network, Connect with professionals and recruiters. That's what people are doing now in the last 10 days, a lot of people have got interview calls, A lot of people have got messages. A lot of people have converted design tasks. Lot of people have gone to the interviews as well. A lot of people have failed also. A lot of people have cracked the interview also. A lot of people have rejected the offer also. All these things happened, guys, in the last 10 days we have rejected a lot of offers also.
Okay?
It's not like we have accepted that. And you will have to join the LinkedIn group, Slack communities industry forums. And you can, you can join Facebook groups, Insta groups. So make sure you expand your network slowly. And talking to the right people, that's what you guys are doing it, okay? And make sure your LinkedIn profile is very optimized. See before you go and expect some results. You will have to do this kind of a war preparation. It will not happen just like that.
Okay?
So people who are ideally coming for this early morning boosters class, I mean I'm sure this, you guys will be in the right track. I think lot of people are getting results now. Srinivas is getting callbacks, Muthu is getting callbacks, Punish is getting callbacks, Faisal is getting callbacks. Who else? I have to say these people have interacted with, interacting with me every single day. That is why I'm. I'm able to tell these people are getting results. Other people, I don't know whether you are following or not. I'm 100% sure if you're following, you'll get huge results. See guys, this is the very, very crucial phase. Everybody has a problem. Even the people who are having experience is also having the problem here. Freshers also and people easily knock down you as a fresher. Because you're not approaching with this method. If you're approaching with this method, you will find a suitable job for you. If you are missing out this part, don't expect somebody else will come and help you. Maybe if you have two, three years experience, that is somewhat okay. But if you are a fresher, this is the only way to crack. You have to build a gap, build a project, find a strategic industry, start talking with people. Then and only you can get opportunities. Guys, there is no other way to do it. If you tell me some other way, is there? I'll be more than happy to listen from you.
Okay?
If you have proven anything, tell me with the results and testimonies, then I'll be happy to listen. And even I can able to implement for the program to teach a lot of students, right? So bring me. Unless until you don't have the Method it's better to just follow simple. Okay, so what is the LinkedIn profile optimization? Update your profile with relevant project skills. Include keywords or research request recommendation. See guys, all these things are in your codex. Don't think much, just do it. You ask your codex this question. Copy this, put it in the chat GPT in your Codex document. Don't put randomly.
Okay.
Put it in a codex document, ask it. You will get a precise exact keyword. What to do?
Okay.
That's why codex is very important. People are still procrastinating to make the codex. What should I do? Your career results will be also accordingly like that only.
Okay.
Don't expect any kind of a salary difference in your career. Fine. And then you have to tailor make your application. If you do these things automatically, you will know guys, what to change in your application. What not to change.
Okay.
What to talk. Highlight your values, show the relevant metrics, what is going to be important. And then you will be activated accordingly to. I mean you will be given automatically. Your mind will show you the points. What to talk in the negotiation.
Okay.
Use job alerts follow company. These are like very generic things, guys.
Okay?
Like this is the way anyway. This is a very, very common process which we are seeing every single day, right? There is no difference. I'm telling you from the day one.
Okay?
Research and target industries. Leverage your industries. Optimize your profile. Tailor your application and use some job search alert process. And also try for some multiple other platforms as well. Okay? So don't rely on only one platform. I would say LinkedIn 60 to 70%. I would say glass doors 10%. I would say monsters 10 to 20%. Okay. If you are, if you're applying for this Shine. Shine also has some premium services to pay. You can invest. There is no problem in that. They'll get you a lot of interview calls. But again you will have to choose it. It's not like they are choosing it.
Okay?
You will have to tell your positioning and the strategy carefully with them.
Okay?
10 shrine and monsters and now Cree. Now Cree. You can go up to 20%.
Okay?
Very based on your application process. Try to spend a lot of time here.
Okay?
These platforms will give you a lot of leverage as well. And you don't have to prepare multiple applications. Whatever LinkedIn application you're preparing for a particular job, you're ultimately going to apply the same company, right? Through a different portal, same thing. So please understand this carefully before you.
Go and approach it.
Okay, so now let's come to the very important part which Is salary negotiation research. Salary benchmark, pay scale, Statista. In fact I told you about Statista and glassdoors and salaryhike.com but pay scale is one of the interesting thing. Okay, you can go to the pay scale and see what is the average range. See, to a certain extent Your Codex document ChatGPT will give you some average range. But Payscale has a real time data. Glassdoors has a real time data. People talk about their real salary. I think last two days before I showed you the salary. Also what people talk about in Amazon, the starting salary, the broader range. Right? If you can't understand the broader range, you cannot talk to the hr. You have to get the data. Don't talk some random numbers and get what you call get backfired. People will easily throw you out if you do that. Okay, Determine your minimum acceptable salary. That's what I told you. Now calculate the. Calculate the salary based on the market average and personal expense.
Okay?
Consider the city.
Okay.
Cost of living.
Okay.
Consider the bonuses. Like let's say sometimes your performance bonus and appraisal, all the things will be there. Consider the fixed cost. How much are they giving you? Consider the benefits, what they are giving you. Consider the perks. See guys, I'll tell you one thing. Sometimes a company's salary will be low but the benefits will be extremely high. I'll tell you, they'll give you yearly one time to attend some event, okay? Like let's say national event or international event, okay? Sometimes they'll give you a benefit of training in house, okay? Because some company are driven towards this kind of a vision and mission. That's why it's very understanding, very important to understand the mission and vision of a company. Sometimes the company will give you a benefit of like let's say peer network. That means inside they will give you a lot of opportunities for talking to you. First stage of selection or maybe second stage, you're already having offer you. You're already having a value proposition with you.
Okay?
If you have offer letter in front of you, that is even more greater rich. But you tell ma', am parallelly I'm applying for three industries and I. I got close to the interview process and I've got salary one like let's say 12 LP and another salary of 11 LPA and another, I'm in the interview stage now and another I'm in the design stock stage now. See if your company is really satisfying me in all the benefits even if I get little low salary, I'm not worried about that. This is how you negotiate. This is how you start talking with the people. This is how you can reach maximum salary.
Okay.
And then respond strategically and pressed early and practice counteroffers.
Can I say you want?
Yes, yes, go ahead please.
So I had a call with one recruiter. So they were asking about what is your salary expectation. So I told this is my expectation. And what they told was. So I was asking 100% hike. I said, so like no company in the market will give you this, this much hike. And you're asking too much. And I said not, not interested. Then they try to convince me to come for the lower, lower package.
I said.
I said I'm not understood. Then after sometime they again called back and they were offering me 100x.
Oh, that means your value is truly matching them. The value proposition what you're offering. They have seen some potential in you.
Okay?
The people who are talking is wrong. The people who like to, I mean, take the things forward. They will not do this kind of a jokes. They will tell you whether it will work or not in the first go itself.
Okay?
That is why your people, whoever is talking is very important. You will have to find the person who is decision makers.
Yeah.
Not the interface people. See, you are also interned, right? Same in HR also there'll be some intern, right? I mean not intern in the sense. Surendra. I'm saying in general our people also have interns, freshers. We also don't know sometimes design, right? In HR also they don't know initially all these things. So they will talk. It's okay. Fine. That is why you have to understand the pulse when you're talking in the phone. Surrender. You have to closely observe whether this person knows the background or not. Ma', am, you're telling about it is too high. Too high. Can you tell me on what comparison you're telling is too high? See, when somebody tells you're too tall, you're too short, what is the point? You're measuring something in your mind. And then you're telling this too tall, right? Like let's say if you're living in the world of dwarves, okay. Short, short people, right? What will these people tell? They'll not talk about tall, height and all because they know everybody is like this. So whenever somebody is selling, you're asking too much. High salary. We can't offer you this. Then you have to ask on what basis you're selling. It is too high. They will not answer because they don't have the answer. People are just bargaining. This is called vendor bargaining. Okay, but you are not doing that. You're asking. Ma', am, can you tell me on what basis you are exactly telling? It is high. Then they'll tell you no. Last week we offered 6.7lpa for a guy. Ma', am, the average salary what a U S design studio offers is 8 LPA according to payscale.com salaryhike.com Please go and open and search it. This is the data. I'm not telling any story here. It's a data. That is the reason I've asked you. There is nothing illogical. There are students who get even 60 LPA. I am not asking that there are students who get even 3 LPA. I'm not asking that. I need a fair exchange for my experience. That's why I'm asking you see, now they will be little shocked. Oh, yo. This guy knows something. We should not talk something random. Ma', am, I can understand you're not a decision maker. Can you connect with me with the decision maker so that we can make it amicable? This is how you have to move for the next stage.
Okay?
Because we know if that person is not in the right position, There could be a trap. Maybe there could be some other conditions. Implying Try to read their salary component.
