Day 46- Navigating the Endless Learning Path in Design- 100 Days 100 Skill Booster Sessions

This is a YouTube video titled "Day 46- Navigating the Endless Learning Path in Design- 100 Days 100 Skill Booster Sessions" recorded in November 2024. It features Jagadeesh P leading a live interactive skill booster session focused on helping designers prioritize their learning paths and skills effectively. The session includes multiple participants engaging in activities such as creating prioritization matrices, setting career goals, and discussing relevant design skills for industry roles, particularly in fintech. Jagadeesh P provides detailed guidance on skill relevance, sequencing, and practical learning strategies to enhance employability and career growth in design.
One second. Yes. Welcome guys. Welcome to the skill booster session. Day 46 and today it is a very important what you call an information more than a skill. It is an information which every designer needs to learn. Because while you're going forward, you should be able to understand that this is a very, very vital thing which many of us needs to know.
Okay?
So that is what we are going to see today. And I wanted you to take notes because this is going to be a very important. Just a second. This is going to be a very important activity. If we do this activity only we can able to learn how to prioritize our tasks and how to prioritize our activities. Okay, just a second.
Okay.
Excellent guys. Welcome, welcome. So I'm going to be sharing my screen.
Okay?
So just let me know if my screen is visible and I'm audible activity. If we do this activity only we can able to learn how to prioritize our. Okay, excellent guys. Fine, fine, fine. So give me a second. Give me a second.
Give me a second.
Good morning. Good morning Subash. Good morning Jain. And good morning Anju. And let me post the link as well. A lot of people are joining from the outside also. Just a second.
Okay. Okay.
Welcome guys. Welcome. So let me share my screen now and just let me know if it is visible. It's audible. Fine. Is it good? Please switch on your camera. Guys. Let's start this session. Yes. Give me a thumbs up if you are able to see my screen visible as well as my voice is audible. Give me a thumbs up. Yes.
No.
Surendra. Is my screen visible? Surendra.
Yes, it is.
Yes. Thank you. But your audio is not audible for me.
No.
Ah yeah. It's better. It's better. Good, good, good. Microphone, speaker. Excellent. Good. So. So this is more of a skill, I would say. This is not a skill. Perspective. This is how you prioritize your priorities. Perspective.
Okay.
While you're learning in design, while you have started learning in design, it is very, very easy for you to get lost. This is a. This is a very, very field which will make you get lost and you won't. You won't get what you call a complete navigation in this whole journey.
Okay?
So that's what a lot of people have also. Just a second guys. Just a second. Too much bright light is coming. I've changed the lighting angle. Not coming. Really good. Okay, fine. So too much people have really lost in this design career because of this reason. That is why I wanted you to focus very carefully for the skill set.
Okay?
So first of all, how do how do I know? Like let's say that design. I need to learn this skills first. I. I have to learn this skills second and I have to go forward because what happens is if you take. There are totally 139 skills available for a designer needs to be learned.
Okay?
It doesn't mean we will have to learn each and every skill. It is completely a waste of time.
Okay?
So you have to know very clearly what you wanted to prioritize and learn forward.
Okay?
So a guide to crafting a particular focused learning path is very important and that's the whole reason we are doing it. Okay, so why Design is very expensive to be precise to create a learning path to learn in design only will make a structured approach for you or else you will get so much overwhelmed. Can you see people who are randomly drifting outside? Oh, I need to learn this sketching. Oh, I need to learn this portfolio making art. I need to learn this visual design skill. I need to learn this figma. I need to learn this AI tools. It is not required to be in that kind of overwhelm to avoid that. Today you are going to get absolute clarity, guys.
Okay?
So all of you please take your notepad and pen. I am going to make you do a matrix activity.
Okay?
So if you are switching on the camera, if you are answering my questions and then if you are writing the what you call answer questions which I'm asking you, then this session is going to be ultimately useful for you guys. I'm. I'm giving you a promise. If you are not taking notes and then if you're not able to do the activity what I'm telling, then you will be in the same path again.
Okay?
So it is helping you to build your tailored learning what you call way of doing this.
Okay?
So why the skill is important? We all know like let's say we need a direction. We need to be very efficient in learning. We don't have lifetime to learn. We are not experimental people or research people. Right. We need to first understand that point of view. It helps in avoiding overload and it helps you give some kind of priorities and direction. And majorly what is relevant for the industry will have to learn.
Okay?
And focus on high demand skills. Increasing the employability. That's very obvious and superb. Let's talk about what are the methods which I have been teaching you? Okay, see guys, look, there is something called prioritization matrix. Okay, so now I'm going to give you one small activity. However, you take your notepad and pen that everybody has this Quick, quick, fast, fast, fast.
Okay.
So what is your one year goal? Guys? Write it fast. I wanted you to do it live with me.
Okay.
Write your one year goal. Really, really fast, please.
Okay.
Once you are writing it then we can able to move forward. Yeah. What's your one year goal? Write should be very specific.
Okay.
I think a lot of people knows like what is mean by goal setting? The goal setting is like let's say for one year. What role you want, what salary you want. What is the company you wanted to work with. And what is the city you wanted to work with.
Okay.
And when you are ideally going to get like. Let's say it's one year. Let's assume that. Okay, fine. Or maybe it could be a 3 months, 2 months goal also. Like let's say, Jagdish, I want immediately a 10 LPA job or 8 LPA. That's totally fine. Write it down.
Okay.
Have you guys written Anju money content? Subhash, please switch on your camera. Come forward and tell me that you did. Because this is a live activity.
Okay.
Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Fast.
Okay.
So now I wanted you to do another activity. Guys, for your goals, what do you think is the relevant skill set? Can you write top three skill sets for that particular goal to happen? Jagdish, I know if I wanted to reach this industry with this salary, I need these three skills. Write it down. Subhash, are you writing? Manikantan, are you writing? Anju, are you writing? Confirm me it.
Okay, fine.
Written. Subhash, written. Sure. Can we go for the next one?
Okay.
Great. So in that relevant skills.
Okay.
It can be even four or five or six skill also. Guys, you can extend it more. I told you to write T. But you can write 6 or 7 also. It's not a problem. Like let's say this could be associated skill towards improvement. Jagdish, if I learn this skill also, it will be much helpful. Apart from these three, you can write down that as well.
Okay.
That is called secondary skills.
Okay.
Initially what you did is a primary skills mandatory requirement. That is the main objective of you going for the job.
Okay.
What are the secondary skills? Please do write it down. Secondary skills.
It. Okay.
Have you written? Now I wanted you to divide your note into four sections.
Okay.
Like. Like a matrix. Like a four column.
Okay.
Put a. Put a x axis. Put a Y axis.
Okay.
Yeah. Put an x axis. Put a Y axis.
Okay.
So write this four columns. I'm sharing the screen with you. Just a second. What's happening? Yeah. Yes. Write this four columns, guys.
Ok?
The first column should be high priority, high relevance in the left side and on the top right side, High priority, low relevance in the quarter three, which is the third box. Low priority, high relevance. In the fourth you will have to write low priority, low relevance. Just copy this. Whatever is there in front of your screen. Just do a quarter mapping like this. I'll also show you if possible in this tool. Hold on it. Guys. Can you see my screen? What's happening? I think I'm not sharing the screen. Just give me a second.
Okay?
Can you see the screen guys? Just a second. I am not sure what is happening. Really. Okay, fine. Can you see this? This is how you have to divide it.
Okay?
And you can just name like this way.
Okay?
Just.
Okay.
I don't know. Like this is not. Yeah, this is enough. So I'm just copying this whatever headings I've given you. For example, you can write high priority, high relevance here.
Okay?
And you can write something like high priority, draw relevance here.
Okay?
So for the skill sets, whatever you written, can you categorize into this four matrix?
Okay.
Just write it down. Like let's say put a heading like this. Put a heading like this, okay? Make sure it is.
Okay.
You can write the skills like here. Like let's say what is the high priority high skill? Like let's say visual design example I'm giving you.
Okay.
Second is researching skills. Let's say documenting skills.
Okay?
Like let's say presenting skills.
Okay?
Don't write the tool name. That is not called skill. Skill is very different, okay? Tool is very different. Please understand that.
Okay?
Like this, I'm just giving you example. So. So that you can able to start it.
Okay?
Low priority and high relevance. So most important. Okay, Low priority. And this is even more important. I'll tell you why it is important. Just write it down. Yeah. Please prioritize your skills with this category.
Okay?
If everybody is done, please note it down. I'll tell you why. This matrix is very very important. Okay? While you. Once you do it, I will tell you. Let's say you can also talk about design systems. Design system is a skill. Design systems is a very good skill which you can learn, okay? But low relevance for you.
Okay?
Understand this guys. Design system learning could be a very good skill. But this is very low relevant for you. For your goal to be achieved. What is your entire goal? Like let's say. Sorry, just a second. Like let's say if you have to. If you have to write your goal which is the most Priority now for you, what's your one goal? How do I change this color thing is. It's a very new tool guys. I'm opening for the very first time, okay? I don't know really what is really. Let me put code bubble.
Okay?
Yeah, this is fine. I'm just giving you a small. Like let's say you wanted to earn 8 LPA being a being a fintech designer at Bangalore based product design studio.
Okay?
Before December 31, 2024.
Okay?
Like let's say this is your goal. In order to achieve this particular goal, what I have to do, I have to learn this as my high priority skill.
Okay?
Listen to me guys. If you guys are making this matrix, only we can go forward, ok? This is not a class for just listening and leaving. You have to write first, this particular skill second you will have to write high priority, low relevance. For example design system is good. You can learn it, you want it. But it is not relevant for you being a fintech designer. It is not relevant for you to learn that in your organization there is already a design system built for you. You don't have to learn that. This is the second one. Third low priority, high relevance. That means your relevance is there but your skill set is not required. For example HTML, css, Java. It is not a priority to learn for you but it is relevant. The relevancy in the sense you can just get to learn from the people later.
Okay?
Maybe I would say HTML css go for this one. It will not even come for your high relevance.
Okay?
Like let's say you can. You can think about creating portfolio.
Okay?
No industry asks for you to bring the portfolio now today.
Okay?
It's not a priority but it is relevant for you later.
Okay?
So this is called quadrant one.
Okay?
This is called Q1. Let. Let's. Let's talk like this. Like let's say star.
Okay?
Let's put a star like this. This is the most important task in your entire journey.
Okay?
This is the second important task. This is the third important task. This is the fourth important task.
Okay?
So if you can able to prioritize your skills into this four buckets, okay? At least you need to have two to three skills in each of the sections.
Okay?
So can you tell me? Sure. What is your high priority, high relevant.
Skill.
In your matrix? Your voice is very low. Presenting skill and documenting skill. What is your one year goal? So I. I wrote a three month goal. Ah, that's okay. What is your three months goal? To get 2 salary in next three months. If you wanted to get a 2x salary next three months. Yes. Presentation and documenting skill will not come in the priority and relevance it will come on third category. Okay. Think about it.
Okay.
What is the second skill you have written? Presenting. Documenting is one. Next. What is that? Written research. What happened? Visual design and research. Okay. Visual design and research may be the first one. High priority. High relevance. And what are the industry you wanted to work?
A Fintech. Ah.
That's great. Fintech. You wanted to work. And what are the projects you already have with fintech and other thing like.
I don't have projects with fintech.
I need to start one. But I. My previous projects are all Iot public. Understood? Understood.
Okay.
Good. So see. Look. Look. I'm just taking Surendra as an example. Listen to me guys.
Okay.
Listen to me. Listen to me. So if you wanted to reach something like a fintech.
Okay.
Yeah. In Bangalore I think. Let's talk about 20 LPA.
Okay.
Being a fintech designer in Bangalore before 2031. Okay. Let's have this as a goal. Simple. In order to get this fintech based role, you will have to first know what skill you want. Go to your copilot Codex document in the chat GPT and ask this question. Copy paste these four headings. First of all you will get the answer. Don't be very irrelevant.
Okay.
But I wanted you to do it manually first. That's the reason I'm asking you to complete this. Just a second guys. Just a second. One second. One second. Give me a. So in order to reach that particularly what would be the first skill is? Visual design and research skill. That is the first skill.
Okay.
Creating portfolio documentation. Like let's say. I'll move this documentation skill as a. Like let's say it is a priority. But it is mean it is. It is low priority. But it is high relevance for you.
Okay?
You need to understand this carefully. Second, what are the high priority and role relevance for him? Design systems could be that.
Okay.
And also he can learn prototyping. That could be high priority for him. But role relevance.
Okay.
Maybe I don't know. In his work nature if he is only doing research then the prototyping part will be taken care by some other team.
Okay?
Like let's say the testing will be taken care by some other team.
Okay.
User testing. I would say. Like let's say if you are working in a product based design studio, this all skills will be highly priority for you.
Okay?
But it is very vital for you to understand what is the industries. If you are targeting then what are they doing on every single day basis? Like let's say if you go for a company like Razorpay.
Okay.
If you still wanted to understand like what Razorpay typically does. Like let's say I'll show you an example as well. Just a second.
Okay.
I am just taking an example in the online. Okay, Just think about it. They have something like a. We'll go for product. Product. Product design strategy. Product design. Let's talk about this intern.
Okay.
So they wanted some kind of intern. Senior product designer in Bangalore.
Okay.
Interns. Everybody can apply. Okay, so what are they saying? See, since I don't have time, what I'm doing is.
Okay.
Lot of my friends are working in Razorpay. Guys. If you wanted to apply there, just reach out to me. I'll help you.
Okay.
Ideally use your co pilot and your Codex document. Don't do a new chat.
Okay.
Analyze from this job description. What are the top skills? What a designer needs in this?
Okay.
I'll also do one thing. I'll copy paste this.
Okay.
I need you to categorize for me in the below category.
Okay.
Listen to me how I am doing it?
Okay. What's happening?
Okay, I'm just putting this 4 priority and then I'm putting the job description. Let's say if Razorpay is your highest company like you asked for some 20 LPA, Bangalore Fintech. This is a good company for you. I'm just taking an example but you can know it.
Okay.
Create like a matrix and show me as quadrant one, quadrant two, three and four. Look at this. So now look at this. User centric design and visual design principles. User research and data driven decision making. In fact this is data driven decision making is first to first skill. If you are a fintech designer, you should know how to read data. You should know how to see the numbers. You should be able to understand how much people are transacting. How much people are what you call using your products every single day basis. So that research part needs to be very clearly understood by you. Okay look, this is how I'm writing the user journey. Are you guys getting it? Are you guys getting it? So you should be more clear on what you're doing, right? By understanding. I'm just taking a small font so that it's there for you. Okay, this is one second. Let's go for the high priority low relevance. See it is like generating alternates understanding front end principles. It's not required for you but it is priority to learn later. Like let us say the relevance is not here. Maybe you can sit with the developer and learn it later. I am just putting you an example. Third, low priority and high relevance. That means evangelizing design within and outside the organization or attention to detail, inclusion and support for career reentry. This is not a very big deal but I am talking about only the two. Like let us say attention to detail, the grid alignment, the aesthetics, the principles. I'll tell you, people value sometimes this as a top priority skill. Choosing of the wrong skill, spending on wrong time, it is ultimately going to waste your career. Okay, please, please remember very very carefully guys. Because lot of people have a big time problem in choosing what to learn randomly. If you spend your energy and time and focus in unwanted things which will waste your complete time. That is why see in time management they used to teach this principle of four quadrant. Okay, you need to know high priority, high relevance. You should know what is your low priority role. Relevance.
See look.
For us it is very different guys. We need to know about the company's background. That means their product, their portfolio, everything. But as a skill point of view it is not a very important skill. They are saying for you the first important skill is to learn the user centric design principle and visual design principles and user research and ideation and planning, prioritization, cross functional collaboration. See this is all very, very, very very important social media presence. This is for a research purpose to know about how this industry is going to be very relevant for you.
Okay?
That match is needed for us because that is our process. That is how we start any industry to look forward. But on a technical perspective this is the most important skill.
Okay?
In this particular organization, what I would say as a high priority and low relevant skill is like, let's say you can say in fact design system is a good way.
Okay?
Your role is to understand and prioritize what is required and what is needed, right? You will not do any kind of a prototyping, testing and all these things.
Okay?
What is low priority and high relevance for you? What is given here in your document? Attention to details. Let me take this one. Okay, Something like this, look at this. So you will be able to get this kind of answers guys, creating portfolio, documenting skills, evangelizing design within the organization, attention to detail, grid alignment. Like these are like aesthetic principles which you can learn and go forward. Okay, Low priority is learning front end learning backend. It is not required for you.
Okay?
And also what is low priority? Row relevance. You can say something like let's say you can, you can write poster making. Sometimes people Will ask you to do posters.
Okay.
Screen building. Screen building is just without any kind of input, without any background. You will be just given some kind of a piece work and you will be executing it. That's called screen building and low priority job. It is not row. It is not a priority. It is not a relevant skill. Your career is ultimately wasted on that particular activity. Okay, so people will ask you to just build solution. They will not give you any background, just build it.
Okay.
Iteration without research. This will typically happen when you're working in a fintech organization. They'll ask you to do the iteration of this, but they will not tell you what is the reason to do it, what basis customer is not happy and why should this skill be improved. They will not tell you, they will just like that, ask you to do it. Okay, so these are all the low priority skills which you have to understand. And these are all the high priority skills which you have to understand. Okay, exactly what will happen? I'll tell you guys. Everybody will focus on only this and this. I am 100% sure you will not focus on this at all because you don't know what is exactly the high priority, high relevance. At least if you are working on this second one, it is okay in my perspective the reason being one or the other way it will be helpful. But it is your ability to find this to become more successful. That is how your career will become more relevant for you. Okay, so are you guys able to prioritize now? Give me a confirmation. Give me a yes. No, can you just rearrange these things for this first two quadrants? Okay, according to me here, nothing should come. It should be completely zero. You should not even think about this kind of a things. That means you should know. I'm not going to approach any kind of an organization with this particular information. I'm not even going to read this. Delete, complete delete. At least it can have. But this too is very, very important and you should write lot of the things. Okay, so once you do this, what we have to do next? Jagdish, There is something called sequencing.
Okay.
So inside this you should be able to sequence it. What is the first? What is the second? What is the third? Okay, once you know the priority, once you know the relevance, then you will have to sequence it carefully. This is how you start creating your learning path. Okay, so priority is important. Sequencing is important. This should not be done first. This should be done second. You should first prioritize these four categories, write it down and then sequence that. Okay, let me Learn data driven design. That is the first skill I have to learn. Next is research. Next is visualization and presentation. Being a fintech designer, you should know how to present your numbers and data very very carefully for your user. Okay, so it's a mandatory skill. So this is how you start creating a learning path for you. Okay guys, are you guys getting clarity? Let's go back to the slides. Okay, so high priority, high relevance. High priority, low relevance, Low priority, high relevance. It's very very vital.
Okay.
And mapping the milestone. Like you should map the core skill and advanced skill based on the career stages. Like let's say if you are very basics in particular skill, map it down. If you're very advanced, map it down. So spend your time accordingly. Okay, so early earlier career sketching wireframe will be really important. But as you go forward like let's say advanced interaction design, behavioral psychology. You can read more of psychological principles. You can read about users behaviors and how the interaction can be changed. At start of your career it's not required. So you will have to go and change this matrix initially I'll do user like let's say journey mapping in the high priority, low relevance. Like let's say you can learn psychological principles later not in your this point of time. So you should know which bucket to put in very carefully in order to reach your salary. This is a internship role.
Okay.
Whatever I choose. Imagine if you want to approach for a 20lpa job then you need to be even more specific. Apart from this job description, you should be able to talk to the people in LinkedIn research more about the company and understand what is really required for you. And then fill this. Then create a learning path and come to me like this. I've choose this. Is this correct or not? See Surendra has asked me now I gave the correction. It's not correct. Yes, he has not prioritized correctly. Everybody will have mistakes. I'm telling you because you yet don't know what is the reality in the industry practically happening. Okay, so that's why you need a support in that angle. Okay, Next, unlearning the framework. See always have something like a outdated approach. Whenever something is becoming obsolete or outdated, please remove from that. Many people are still learning their old way of doing it.
Okay.
Ppt. Ppt. Now there is a tool called Gamma. Now there is a tool called Beautiful AI. So these two tools are amazing. You can able to try that. There is a tool called Lumen Phi. You can create flowchart user journey very easily using that. You don't have to build anything manually like a user journey and all in Miro and all these things. So please adopt that and also learn those skills in a very relevant manner, okay? Like let's say shift from Photoshop to modern tools like Figma. I'm just giving you an example. But yeah, there is a very beautiful method. It's available guys.
Okay?
70, 2010. It's a balanced learning strategy. Okay, listen to me very carefully. This is Most, most, most important. 70 percentage should be focused on your job related skills.
Okay?
Please, please take a Note of it. 20 Percentage of the skill should be focused on from the peers.
Okay?
Your learning curve should be like this, okay? Like let's say you will be going and working in a job on job training, okay? Your learning will mostly happen in your job. That is true. 20 percentage is your learning from your mentors, peers and all these things, right? So you're learning from online. So you need to choose the skill also accordingly and 10% from formal courses. Let's say if you're learning from online course, some YouTube video, this, that in fact I would say the courses, whatever we have, it is also something very relevant and similar to this. But connecting with your mentors, going and learning on the job is the most, most most important. So your time should be more of that. So while you are working you should learn more how Fraser Pay is able to take this data, how people were able to complete this project before what really happened? How should I learn? How should I improve? See this on job training is 70% guys, very simple. 20%. You learn from the perspectives of the mentors, peers and all these things what you're doing now, okay? 10% is from the formal courses. I would never, never tell that because the online course, completion of Udemy course here and all these things is only 3 to 4%. But our program is more than 40%. The reason being we have been conducting hackathons, we've been conducting inner circle call, we've been conducting morning sessions and I used to give one to one for the students. So that is why the learning practice is becoming more. Because I take you very close to the 70%. I make you do a live project. I make you do something more relevant to the job.
Okay?
So you need to understand this particular model very carefully.
Okay?
So that's it guys. If you understand this method then there is no stopping for you.
Okay?
Once you create this then you will have a clear roadmap for your skill. What is the roadmap? You need to visualize and plan your skills over the Time in the next one month. What is the top skill which I have to learn in next two weeks? What are the top two skills which I have to learn? If you're having that clarity then you will have the what you call relevance to organize based on relevance priority and sequence I would say and sequence very important.
Okay.
And an activity for you. List your course skills group by relevance. Create a learning timeline. So now create a learning timeline guys. Take it to your chat GPT copilot your codex document. Put this input for your like let's say if you have around 50 job descriptions for your 50 industries Create a PDF of all this job description. Okay? Go to the website, create a PDF, upload that PDF in the chat GPT and ask analyze these 50 companies and give me what are the top 10 skills which I have to learn and then give me the another top 10 skills which I have to learn. Secondary. Now prioritize into four categories. Simple. You don't have to do any heavy job. Chat GPT does all these things and you can manually cross check later that okay. But you can also do one thing. You can put all of your skill set copy paste into an Excel sheet and also you can drag and drop simply into the chat GPT and do it because chatgpt literally does everything. If you put Excel sheet, if you put PDF, if you put text, if you put word file it will, it will observe whatever you are giving.
Okay?
So understand that once if you're able to do it then you will see the outcome guys. It will clarify what is your progress and your learning goal. Okay so second, once you map this, identify your current gaps and what you wanted to go like let's say out of 10 you are in one or maybe you are in seven or maybe some of the skills you may be in nine also. That's okay, you're already good at it. Move it to the second bring which is more relevant and important for you on the top.
Okay?
This gap relevance, gap analysis is very important. Access your proficiency in key areas, identify the key skill set and evaluate it based on points and and provide a clear learning map. And please get in touch with me regularly. You will have to show me what you're learning, what you're doing. Jagdish, I feel I wanted to do a real time project. Surendra said right? I want to do a real time project, ideally speaking using his top three skills. You'll have to execute a fintech project in order to approach for a fintech based industry. It's as simple as that. I'll tell you what one day project you can do, what one week project you can do if you go to power of one. In Power of one, I would have already instructed you how to do a project in one week, how to do it in one day. Magical steps. You just have to implement it. It's a very short course, simple instructions. You'll have to follow it and connect with me. Book a one to one call, go and upload your work and everything. Just connect with me.
Okay?
In learning management portal, everything is available.
Okay.
Evaluate your progress and learning and adapt and everything. Ensure the focus is there on the industry.
Okay?
Yeah. Once you relevantly adopt this all the skills then you can able to network with your community and share your learnings. Once you share your learnings and keep on posting in Pinterest behance on this LinkedIn and all these things, automatically industry people will start talking with you. It is as simple as that. So neuroscientifically what happens? Your brain knows what to prioritize. Your memory optimization will be only focused on that because you are repetitively strengthening that particular skill over and over again. You are not learning something random again. Your brain's ability to replace outdated skills with a new one will start automatically. Adaptation. Your neuroplasticity comes in picture and this is going to be ultimate important for you.
Okay?
Relearning modern tools, letting out old practices. That is what I already told you. Okay, what are the relevance here? 94% of the employees favor candidates who upskill. If your intention is towards always learning, adapting, learning, adapting and if you can able to show in the interview or to the recruiter, people would love to have you. I told you, being a fresher, the one skill what people will ask you is flexibility and ability to learn. Not your figma skills, not your portfolio, not your any skills. Please understand this.
Okay?
You need to showcase that. That is why I'm asking people to write some blog articles, write some good information, put your case studies and publicize it. Have you seen Shantilal Srinivas? They are doing it every single day, every two days, once. Because that's how they get lot of priorities and reply from the LinkedIn.
Okay?
82% of the designers feel overwhelmed by available skills. So please understand guys, AIGA survey has already stated that.
Okay.
Designers using this model report higher knowledge retention. Journal of Creative Design Studies 702010 I gave you the powerful model. Please go and implement it.
Okay?
So personalized. Create a personalized learning journey. Unlearn the things, whatever you wanted to learn. After this particular Activity and create a design thinking challenge for you. I would say once you are very clear about these activities, your matrix and everything and your outcomes, bring it to me.
Okay.
I'll give you a learning path, I'll give you a project or whatever, whatever you want.
Okay.
Then you can work on a challenge like let's say a one day project challenge, let's say for Surendra or maybe if you wanted to learn any research skill, I'll give you a one day challenge or maybe a one week challenge or whatever. Then you can able to participate and go forward about it.
Okay.
But ideally speaking, when you come in the hackathons flow, that would be also really, really good because this hackathon is more focused on job. So whatever is covered, you can just follow that. That would be super helpful for you.
Okay, yeah.
And yeah, what I would say as a case study. Case study is not relevant here, guys. Okay, so what are the key takeaways? Focus is a major takeaway and you need to be adaptable to learn and practical learning is first and. And stay connected with me. That's what I'm trying to say again and again and again.
Okay.
So for the people who are watching in the YouTube live, I would ask you to come for our workshop which we are going to conduct on November 14th, guys.
Okay.
It's a four hours workshop which we are trying to plan. It is for the outer public, guys, not for you guys, for internal community. It's for the public who are watching this YouTube live for the first time. And I'll be pasting the link also. And for the people who are our community and other people, please listen to our podcast and subscribe to our YouTube channel and make sure you are continuously learning because I wanted you to learn every single day. Do not leave learning as the second priority.
Okay?
Your learning should be the first priority. What is the skill should be the priority on top of it. But please understand this. Okay, fine guys. So thank you so much. Any other doubts is there? Please ask me what are the doubts you have? Sure. No, I think I have clarified you and everybody has now understood what is the difference between low priority, high priority and relevance and sequence. Right? So can you show me guys, what did you complete? Like, let's say could you show me in your paper matrix, like what did you do? Were you able to prioritize? Let me put in a gallery mode.
Okay.
Excellent. Sure. Excellent, excellent, excellent. I hope Jain and you would have also did it, I hope. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Can you show that four lines your screen is blurred here. Ah, Yeah. I can see a four lines. That's good. What about you, Subhash? What about you? And you? What about you, Subhash? What about you? Manikandan, Hasnain. Faisal. That's great. That's great. Super. Super good. But I'm not. I'm not able to see the skills name. Write the skills name.
Okay.
Because you should know what are the relevant skill here, Subhash. Like let's say. I'll take an example.
Okay.
Subhash is predominantly doing freelancing logo designing on all these things.
Okay.
But if he wants to go and work for a product design studio. Logo designing will come in the third quadrant. That's not required.
Okay.
Please understand that. So you will have to know. If you are getting confused, come to me, make this matrix. Send a screenshot and get on a call with me. I'll be able to help you out properly. What? You are lagging.
Okay.
Superb, guys. Any other clarifications, doubts. Or else we can conclude this call. Fine. Let's take a snap.
Okay.
So now go to your learning management portal and register your learnings fast.
Okay.
That would be a next activity. And the final activity before we conclude this call.
Okay.
Because I wanted you to re. Recollect the learnings. Whatever you guys are getting. Just a second.
Okay.
Share your top takeaways in today's learning path and skill priority matrix session booster. I'll write goals, habits, time management.
Okay.
Yes, guys, go ahead. I have posted this in our learning management portal. And I pinned the chat as well.
Okay.
Go and type your learnings and then you can leave for the day.
Okay.
Actually, Jay Nandini, you posted a video, right?
Yes, sir.
Just a second. Good. I can see your project. Actually it was good. I can see your introduction. But make sure you put some numbers you're telling about. You talk to your friends. You talk to your this.
Right?
How many friends you talked. Okay. Don't mention friends in your user research and interview. Because that becomes a biased data. You said I interviewed five people. The steps has been reduced to five steps.
Okay.
Try to mention that numbers and your confidence is good. Your communication is clear. Super. That is. No, there is no problem in that. You can improve on the numbers and specific details more.
Okay.
And make sure sure you present a project while you're doing it. Can you try that? You can use a software called Weed IO.
Okay.
It's a free tool. You can. You can try that.
Okay.
I'm just pasting that link for you.
Okay.
Weed IO.
Okay.
In fact I've taken a recent Case study in the last mission I took, I don't know whether you have the access. Okay, I'll try to give you the access.
Okay.
In the last hackathon what we had is I've shown you like how you can able to create a very short video in that weed itself.
Okay.
You can just sit with your laptop and you can explain that project and you can share your screen also what outcomes and benefits you got that. You can post it in your reels, you can post it in your LinkedIn so that that becomes a lot of a brand for you while you're pitching with the various designers and design studios.
Okay?
That is how you go. And once you do it continuously, you will get an excellent flow towards executing it. And your confidence will go high like anything. And people who are looking at it will also think, oh, this person has did something like let's say she has the moment she has posted me. She's so proud of it. Right? It's not only available in your behance, it is available in your brand like a LinkedIn page or Instagram or maybe whatever is your status or something. So that you are telling that I am more confident in telling this project. So people will have very good conviction. They will not doubt your skill. They will only ask about your relevance and how you are interested in this role. And they will hire you.
Okay?
So that's why I'm asking you to build a brand. Being a designer, it is very important. In fact, the coming Tuesday the mission is going to be personal brand building. Very, very important mission. Please do attend it on Tuesday.
Okay?
I'm going to give you some important instruction also on Saturday's inner circle call in the evening. So please stay tuned for that. And coming Tuesday is going to be ultimate important day for everybody. I'm saying this.
Okay.
So take care guys. All the best. Have a great day. Please complete your learning in the learning management portal and then you can leave this call.
Okay?
Can we. Can we end this? Surendra J. Anju Manikandan. Subash. Who else? Hasel?
