Day 54-Law of Closure-100 Days 100 Skill Booster Sessions

This is a YouTube video titled "Day 54-Law of Closure-100 Days 100 Skill Booster Sessions" created on November 15, 2024. The content likely focuses on skill development related to the Law of Closure, part of a series aimed at boosting skills over 100 days. No conversational elements or multiple speakers are indicated in the excerpt.
Foreign. Yes. Guys, welcome. Good morning to everybody. Just a second. Yes, good morning to everybody. So today we are at the day 54 and we are going to see something very important and interesting topic which is called law of closure. Okay? So a lot of people might, might be very familiar with this law. This is not like something new which I'm going to tell you, but you might have not felt it. So you might have not consciously welcome. You. You must have not consciously understood if this is a law of. Law of closure. Okay? So that is what is the specialty about this today's class as well as I want you to take notes because this is not going to go very easy and it will take certain practices to again make it happen for you, okay? It will not be very easy to implement. And I also would recommend you to go to our podcast channel and listen to the podcast which we have recorded in the last recent days. Okay? Because the reason being we've been talking about that skills in a more precise and appointed way in our, in our podcast channel. Okay? Because sometimes if you are not having time, like let's say if you wanted to listen in an audio format, that would be the most appropriate way. Okay, I already told you about our podcast channel. If you go and type out any keywords, okay. You'll be able to find out exactly the pain point which is relevant to your design subject currently. Like let's say if you're facing a problem with respect to portfolio or research or anything, you can just go and do it. Okay. Because today we are recording 300th episode. Okay? So I don't think there is no podcast with this kind of pain points as well as addressing the needs of the students as well as reaching this much of episodes. Okay? So particularly I want to highlight like there was an episode from 185 to 200. We only talked about design thinking. Okay? We only talked about design thinking. What is not design thinking? The complete aspect of design thinking and how designers can even influence many government bodies. That's a mind blowing podcast. I would highly, highly recommend because I enjoyed creating that content from 185th episode to 200. Like I wanted to give a tribute for this design thinking because this is a really good breakthrough in the whole of design field. See, there is nothing called syllabus here, but design thinking was actually invented by Tom Kelly and David Kelly from ideo and they have really what you call proven this methodology. So that is a small tribute for the design thinkers as well as we need to inculcate that thought. Okay? So similarly like that each and every podcast will have its own what you call way to enjoy and. And listen to it, guys. Okay, so keep learning. I wanted to tell you that because our, our community, people and students has to first take a great advantage out of what is happening out there in that. Okay? So yes, one second, Just a second, just a second. I wanted to also post it in our group. One second. Give me a minute out. Okay. Okay. So how many of you have heard this word before? Law of closure. How many of you have heard this? Can you, can you just tell me like how many of you have really heard this? Because it is more important now to. To understand what is law of closure or this is the first time. Just type out one in the chat box. Look. Yes, Jack, this is the very, very first time which I'm listening, which I'm hearing this word for the very first time. Type out 1. And also please switch on your camera guys and pay close attention. I want you to be here fully if you're here fully. Okay? It's not like you're in the half sleep. It's okay. Go and sleep at least full. No need to force. Force yourself. Okay? Yes. Muthu. Yes. Anju. Yes. Jain. And yes. Bhatmavati. Yes, Tribalaji. Good, good. So law of closure, have you guys heard of. Can you type in the chat box? Type out yes if you heard. Yes. Or type out again if you heard. Not heard. Okay. I just wanted to ask you. Yes, yes, yes. That's great. People have heard. What about you, Kalai? What about you, Anju? Yes, that's great. So what is mean by law of closure then? And there is no point in teaching you today, guys. Okay, but anyway, we will see that. But I wanted to ask you like in nutshell, what do you think law of closure is? See, the name of the law itself is communicated half of the meaning. But with respect to the design context. How are you guys visualizing it? Can you shortly type out of the chat box? What do you think? Because if I know from you, it will be better. If you want, you can able to open your mic and also talk. Not a problem. Yeah, go ahead. Yes, yes, yes, go ahead. Come on guys. I'm all yours. Because I need to start from there, right? It's not like I'm teaching something new or I'm teaching from my perspective. I need to understand the energy of the room and that's why it's live. Okay? Yeah. What is law of closure? Maybe whatever you think it is, you can just type. No, there is no hard and fast rule that you have to tell the exact definition on. Sorry guys, one second. Oops. Okay, fine. Anything else? Nobody is chatting. Why you're not able to tell us a definition? Or maybe you. You are not able to understand Internal. Internalize. Or maybe you would have not got it properly before. No problem. So we will see that now. See, whenever something is being asked, it is. It is required to please return some chat. Because that will set us to understand how the energy of the room is. Okay? Or else there will be totally a disconnect. I will be teaching something, you will be resonating something. Okay? It will be. It will be not really good. When an element or image completes its texture. Its texture. Okay. Okay, fine. Yes, Anju, go ahead. You can unmute. No problem, sir. There is a human mind of human tendency. When it's when the eyes are looks. Eyes looking something incomplete. Then because of the tendency of the human it, we are perceiving it as a complete object. That's great. Like the logo. That's superb. Excellent example and excellent explanation. How many of you have understood what she said now? Maybe you would have. You would have heard because you would have also read somewhere. You would have also. Okay, so what Kalai is saying is a texture. Okay, so let me make a small correction to it. Texture is not the only thing which we can say. Okay? That's the point. We can say for everything. We can say for color, we can say for object, we can say for shapes. It is totally up to us. How do you want it to stop this boundary? It is not really for texture. That is the point. What I am trying to say. Fine, so let us go into this now. So what are the principle of this? Continuity. The principle of continuity in this. And I would say it is a continuity, right? We are creating a direction, we are creating a flow. Okay? So that is what is mainly happening. So the principle of continuity is a gestalt concept that uses visual flow to guide users attention. Naturally essential in digital and physical products to have a seamless experience. That's the basic objective behind it. So why it is important? See, intuitively, people has to follow something within the design, right? So our eyes has to follow that flow and close the path. It is very clear and evident. You will have to create it. So why it is very important, Jagdish, why are we creating like this when we see the image? Saying when we see the image and what's happening when we see the image incomplete, but we understand the image fully because of the human brain. That's great. You've gone into the little brain aspect, the neuroscience aspects of why we are perceiving certain things. That's good. We'll see that now. Okay? So it ensures the intuitive follow the user to get that flow. So ultimately we are not doing this for art purpose. Please understand this. We are learning this loss for not creating some art. We are here to functionally solve a problem. You will have to always remember that, okay? In the world of aesthetics and in the world of creating more visuals. Don't get lost. Again, we are not graphic designers. Even graphic designers has a functional way to implement it. Okay? We are product designers. We need to understand it's all a small part of the whole equation. But you have to know how to connect that to the final functionality of the product. Using this closure. If we can able to bring a functionality for the user and solve a problem, make the life easier, reduce the number of steps, then it is all going to make sense, okay? Learning the definition, knowing about this law of closure or law of this creating flow continuity, it's utter waste if you're not able to get the real time functionality, what you call convincing for the user, okay? So continuity reduces cognitive load, improves engagement and enhance usability. That is totally fine. What we are already seeing that we know pretty much about it. Okay? So understanding the power of this continuity. Okay, see, Gestalt suggests that the elements aligned along a line or a curve perceived as connected. Okay? Like let's say even you have to consciously draw a line or dot or anything, it is still perceived like a continued object. Like let's say a circle, right? What she said, Anju said, right? Even if you are not consciously closing that it still perceives. So that is the objective behind it. It suggests that the aligned objects are perceived as connected, creating a visual path for the user eyes to follow. It enhances clarity and reduces confusion. This is most important. So why we are creating that, it is to reduce your confusion. Let us say if you are creating this kind of a mind map. Look at my screen. Imagine if this red lines are not there, what will you connect? Mean how you will understand the flow of information. This information are connected to these lines. So you know, like let us say if I am folding this, you know, the information is inside. Okay? If I am doing this, the line is connected. So the information is coming from this particular point to this. So that means this respective meaning of this is actually a meaning of this heading, right? So you are visually getting that connection because the flow is already established. Even if I break this line into dot, dot, dots you will still understand it. Like let's say I'll take an example, okay? Oh no. See, still the meaning is conveyed, right? Still it is understood that this is the connection of it dashed even very small, minimal. And still it's conveyed. I can able to reach a minimal point. Still the meaning is conveyed, but the functionality is not deviated. But if I go very beyond, like let us say if I put only 1. Here and 1. Here, then user may get confused. What are you trying to say with that dot? So you will have to reduce it to the minimal extent. But at the same time you should not go below what is even required. So that is the ultimate objective of a designer functionally to meet this requirements. Okay, so are you guys in line with what I said now? You guys in line with what I'm. What I'm talking now? Can you confirm me? Okay. Can you confirm me type out yes in the chat box? Because what I just told you is very, very important. The main concept of the element. Okay? Okay. Okay. Fine, fine. Excellent, excellent. Great. So next we'll go into the statistics of it. First of all, it improves 35 percentage engagement guys. Interface employees continue to see a 35 percentage higher engagement rate. Nielsen Norman Group is actually conducting these kind of reports this, testing this validation and they constantly have some statistics and data to release. So they are saying 35% increase in higher user engagement retention. When we talk about digital products, retention is very, very high. And it's a metrics. So continuity can improve retention rates by up to 20 reduces user frustration and disorientation. This is really important, okay? Because when people are able to retain and use your product or service again and again, then only you are going to become more profitable at your product and service. Okay? Cognitive load. Cognitive continuity reduces cognitive load by around 30 percentage. Because when you are connecting the dots through a proper line or a flow or circular direction, what happens? You will be able to reduce your stress inside that you understand the meaning and you create it. Okay? It is very, very vital making navigation intuitive interaction. Design foundation has said that E commerce sites that emphasizes continuity in checkout process sees a 25 to 30% increase in success checkouts. See, this is very important. See, conversion rate and user retention are one of the major metrics in product design and UI UX design. Okay? There's three factors how it is achieved. Law of closure and law of continuity. Also helps you to build that flow. See, understand why we are doing this. This is very, very important. It's not like we are just learning the skill and then we are leaving. It is very vital for us to connect the entire dots by seeing this. Okay? Are you guys fine with this? Are you guys understanding it? Just a second guys, just a second. Okay. Okay, fine. So what are the core concepts and mechanism in this? First of all, let's talk about directional queues. Okay? To deliberately we can put a flow for the user by creating some arrow. Like let's say if I have to create a deliberate flow for something like this. Let's go about it. Let's say if I have to put an arrow like this, it is very, very evident that I am pointing out to this box. Flow and direction is already established. Maybe I can also put like this. Just a. Oh, it's not coming. Why it is not getting selected? Okay, maybe I will do draw. OK fine. So if I am creating this, this is also way that this information is connected, right? Maybe if I connect like this. So there is a relationship between these two lines. I mean these two boxes. The reason being I just connected here. I did not do any deliberate arrow. But this, this direction conveys me that. Okay, like let's say if I have to create here. Okay here, here. Okay here. See. Still it conveys that to me. According to me, like let's say if I put first here. Okay, if I put second here. If I put a third here, Put fourth here, fifth here. Put sixth here. See. Now I have not used any kind of a lines or something. I just used small, small lines wherever it's required. But our eyes will automatically flow in this direction. See, when I'm seeing, when I'm putting you the screenshot, your. Your eyes will first go and connect these dots. Why? Because inside our brain there would be always a pattern which will be waiting for getting connected and making a meaning out of it. Until that happens, you will be in a distress. Have you ever felt if something is shown to you, if you're very curious about it, if you're not given a proper context to it, you'll always strive for it. Hey, hey, please tell me. Hey, please tell me what is it? Hey, can I know that? Hey, how, how, how? Right? You have that curiosity triggered, right? That's because our brain sends a signal to find out whether are we connecting the dots properly or not. Okay? And you as a designer are going to bring that easy for the customer. That is what the cognitive reduction happens in the load. I talked about it, right? So your job as a designer has to understand to make the visual flow very easy and continuity so that the meaning is conveyed properly. The Functionality is delivered and the customer uses it again and again and again. Seamlessly, intuitively, even without, effortlessly, even without putting constant effort. So that is your crux, that is your success. Again, if you wanted to convey this in a very strong meaning, you can also put some deliberate line arrow all these things. That is totally, totally fine. Okay? That is totally, totally fine. But as minimal as possible. If you are able to convey a meaning, that is what will make you as a successful designer. Are you guys getting it? So the more complex systems you are having, the failure you are. The simple system you are having to convey the same meaning. By understanding this, you become a successful designer, you become a successful artist. I would say the name artist also here because you being a creative artist, to bring that functionality, right? Art will meet its functionality. And I believe that is a true design. That's a true design. That's a. That's a creative potential. What people can have in this era context to bring a meaningful functional to the people. It's not like we are just putting some art and then we are hanging in the wall. That's different. We are doing something very different. This is like solving problem through our artistic nature. You choose any element. See, I just shown you lines and circles. Okay. You can do anything. You can literally do anything, whatever you want to your context and do it. See, like let's say if you wanted to create, I don't know, like what's happening with this line. I'm not able to do it. Okay, so there is some kind of shapes which I'm creating. Okay. So I'm just creating some shapes, random shapes. Okay. I'm trying to create a meaning out of it. Maybe. Okay, can you see what letter is this? Can you see what letter is this? Is. Open your mic and talk. No problem. It's fine. You can talk to me. What happened? Not able to see your chat box. D. Okay, fine. So now I want you to check out this one. What is this? This is also D, right? Of course. Can able to convey it in the two lines here. But I can still convey it in one line also. That's possible, right? Okay, let me check this. What about this? Still it is conveyed D. Right? Still it is conveyed. See, listen, listen. What I am saying. Still it is conveyed D. Okay, I'm not. I'm not changed the meaning. Still it can be conveyed as a D. Okay, let me try one more thing. Guys, you need to help me out with via. This is not. Okay. Yes, fine. Got it. Okay, Little bit clear. Okay, I'm getting confused. What you Guys are telling. Okay, cool. Just a second. Okay, so now let me draw another shape. Now here. Okay. Very simple shape. Listen to me. Listen to me. Is it conveying that this is D? Is it conveying that this is D? Tell me correctly. Is this conveying? Is this the D? Partially, sir. Partially. Why? If I put in a word, if I put in a context, if I put in a logo. Okay. This will be definitely perceived as D. Why? Because the continuity is given through the lines. It's definitely continuing. It's definitely conveyed the meaning behind. If you individually view it, you will not make a very big sense. Okay. When you are viewing it in a sentence, in a word E. Imagine if your E is like this. Okay. Okay. You're saying. Imagine you're saying. Okay. What happens? People will still figure it out. It's next. Even I did not consciously put the X button. Even I did not put the T half. Even I did not connect this dots. Even I did not put properly in. People will still perceive it like next. How? Why Tell me As I wanted you to first tell. You guys. If you are not telling, we are not moving forward. It's not like you are sitting and listening to a lecture. This is not a physics chemistry class. You will have to interact. It seems like nexa. Sorry guys. That next element has got added. I'm. I'm extremely sorry. Leave that part. Thank you. Okay, let's erase that. Okay. Fine. Got it. Okay. Next. Right Next. That's okay. But I'm asking why? Why people are still perceiving this? See, even though I have not what you call. Let me change the color also. Okay, we change this to yellow. See, even though I have not drawn this line. Even though I have not drawn this line. Even though I have not drawn this line. Even though second half of T is missing. Even though N is missing. So still these elements are missing but it's conveyed. Next. Why familiar with this word? So brain tried to connect what the word is good. What about others? Still I want to get the more answer. This is okay. Like level one answer. Everybody will try to tell next. I want something very deeper. What about you Kalai? What about you Muthu? What about you Padmavati? What about you Punish? What about you Sri Balaji? I am not moving forward unless you guys type. Because this is all going to be from thinking about what we are discussing now. Okay. It's not about. I'm telling something more information. You have to first reflect back. Why? Same here. The D also has been perceived like that. Why? Go ahead. Go ahead fast guys. Fast, fast, fast. Hmm. Come on Jainalni. Anju has said it. That's great. Try it out. See guys, first you have to try and make mistakes. Then how will you learn? If you are very shy away at running, how will you learn? How will you learn? You tell me. You have to attempt something, right? So just try to tell why it is still conveyed as a proper meaning. That's what I'm looking for. So why it's still conveyed as a proper meaning? Why the next is still perceived. Why the D symbol is still perceived. Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. Guys, can you hear my voice? Audible visible. Can you type in the chat one. Guys, nobody is typing in the chat. Okay, one. Fine. Filling the gap between visual cues. Empty places gets filled by memory. Whereas I wanted some level two answer. You guys are obviously obvious answers are coming out. I wanted a level two answer. Guys, tell me if this is still D. Tell me if this is still D. Right? This is much better. This is much lesser than this one. Lesser than this one. Lesser than this one. Lesser than this one. Lesser than this one. Let me make it even more lesser. Still conveyed. Still conveyed. Little bit Jagdish. Little bit. Still conveyed or not this word, I mean the curves are not really good. But I would, I would, I would ask you to. Ah. Ah. See practically in a word, if you see that like let us say even if I put a dot here, it's enough. Or maybe a small dot here, small. Here. OK, maybe if I put something like this, what it will convey? Tell me. B. Yes, exactly. So the point here is each and every curve we are putting in the, in the, in the interface or if you are putting in your canvas or if you are putting in your, if you're putting out in your user interfaces, it will convey a different, different meaning. It will convey. Oh, thank you. Sorry. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, thank you. Punish. Thank you so much. Okay, so each and every meaning is being conveyed like that. First of all you need to get this clarity. Guys, are you guys getting it or not? Are you guys getting it or not? And also please go and mark your attendance. Guys, I would highly recommend you to do that because you are going to get points for that for sure. Okay? So it's already going to be there in your dashboard. Please update your portal with a good picture so that you guys will get points for the attendance as well. Okay, so have you got the concept or have you got the example? Just type out yes in the chat box, yes or no. See if you're typing out yes Then and only we can move forward. Or else it's not going to make any sense. Because it looks like very theory for many people. Then okay. What is this? What are you trying to say? Only Sri Balaji has understood. What about others? Guys, what is your doubts? Please ask me. I'll explain you again. I'm going to take it. I'll explain you even more simpler. Not a problem. Okay. Only one person has understood. What are the doubts? Ask me. Padmavati. Punish. Muthu. You want a level 2 answer why we are connecting? I am going to tell that. That has to first come from you. Punish. I'm going to anyway show. I have the content. I'll show it. But you will have to think. That is what I'm asking. The level 2 answer has to come from your side. The reason? Because you will have to think. Okay? You have to connect your past. Okay? Why did we understand certain elements? Why did we understand certain logo? Why did we understand these elements even without fully giving, right? So if you think about it then you will be getting some clarity about internally. Okay? If I tell like a theory, you will get forget after this one day, one or two day you will forget. Okay? So understood? Okay. Understood. Okay. Understood. Okay. Okay. Three, four people are typing. What about others? I want everybody to be in line. Then and only we can move forward. Or else the next examples what I am going to tell you, it is going to be very different. Okay? So first of all you will have to understand. We are having patterns inside our brains, okay? Always our neural pathways are trying to find out certain patterns, okay? If you are giving a meaning towards it, it will connect and it will continue the flow. If you are breaking that by producing some confusion or by any kind of disruption or by any kind of information which is not relevant to you, our brain will not close the neural pathways. It will still keep on lying. That is why our body chemical imbalance also goes. And also what happens it will lead to stress. But not extreme stress, but certain level of stress. But you as a designer have to create that flow. Have to create that meaning. Okay? But it should not be very cliche. Submit here. You can also put that click here. Or you can put click minimal, right? Or you can look put what you call. You can put a hand icon. Finger icon. That's also enough, right? Even you can put the hand icon in the half still it's conveyed. So how minimal you want to communicate, you communicate. But the neural pathway should be connected by creating a meaning. If you are reading a very big blog article, if you are making the user to read through that whole content inside your mobile app or website or anywhere. Finally, the call to action should say, sign up for my newsletter. Ultimately, they want to make you a customer. Sign up for my newsletter. A subscription or whatever. So you have to create subscribe. Now, your business is dependent on that, right? Let's say if you are a content creator, your entire business is running on subscribers. You need to add subscribers. That's your objective. So you as a designer are helping the blog creators to find out what are the call to action for our users with respect to this content. And you create a call to action for that. You create a call to action, okay? You try to connect that closure by giving a pathway. Like let us say, you are making the user read the very big blog. It is not like only you are giving the call to action at the end. You can also give in between. Wherever the interesting points are coming, wherever the interesting content people are engaging with your audience, with the content creator. You can create a call to action button there the pathways are closed. Your objective is done, right? You being a designer, you being a guy who is going to do a subscription based business with the content. So you are creating a call to action button there, very simple. You can create there or at the last. See, this is also law of closure in terms of functionality. It is not only art, it is not only about what you call scene. It is also about functionally connecting that. And also you can put a R mark saying if you wanted more, click here. If you wanted to subscribe, click here. See, you can create the visual arrow and then you can continue that flow till the user reaches the last point. So by that you are engaging the entire user from the start till the end to read the entire block or watch the entire video. So that is your objective, being a designer. Okay? So that is the main point. Are you guys getting it or not? Are you guys getting it or not? Okay, I hope you would have got it. Yes. So directional cues is one one way. Okay. Pathway creation using shape gradient to create implied path. That makes navigation intuitive. You can create shapes, colors, gradients to do it. Guys, that is a obvious way to do it. Third is consistent visual hierarchy continuity works better with a clear hierarchy guiding users from primary to secondary information smoothly. Right? What I mean here, if I show you examples, you will get this clarity. Guess. Don't worry. Bridges and connectors, visual connectors like lines or curves, enhance continuity by liking by linking sections or content. Right? See, if I have to create a connection between this, a line is connecting Here, right? If I have to tell that this is the heading. This is a subheading. This is a subheading, subheading. Another, this is the content. So I can able to choose a different. What you call line. Like let's say if I have to create, See, I can create this way, right? Like let's say if I have to create some more. See. Now compared to this heading, maybe this is little better. I don't know. This is not coming exactly good. But previously it used to come. I don't know why it is not coming. The thickness of the line get reduced when I branch it out in a very, very specific, in a very specific way. Okay, okay. It is not coming now. Previously it used to be there in mind node. What happens is when I branch it out on each and every element, the thickness of the line gets reduced. So it conveys that it has been extracted out of this guy. It is a visual connotation what they try to bring in for the people who are using this particular map. So bridges and connectors. So visual connectors and lines are curves. Enhance the continuity by linking the content or section. This is the whole mechanics of it, guys. Directional cues, pathway creation, consistent hierarchy, bridges and connector. Now let's go into some examples. Digital product Instagram stories. Horizontal scrolling guides users to the next story. Have you guys seen that? How many of you have experienced that? Horizontal scrolling guides. Have you. Have you visualized it? Type out in the chat and open your mic also. No problem. Yes, great. Think about it. Because these case studies you might have definitely heard. But we are not conscious to see that before our consciousness should grow. What does it mean by consciousness? See, this entire week of aesthetics I am telling about this word consciousness. Consciousness. Have everybody understood this word or what? Nobody has asked me the question. Listen, consciousness is about continuously feeling that as a part of our second nature. Okay? It is not like only sometimes you will be conscious, sometimes you will be unconscious. I mean, are we living our life like that? Half time in the bed being unconscious, half time as a conscious human being, we are continuously, constantly conscious, right? Same like that. This aesthetic principles has to get into your mind like a conscious designers. Like a mindful designers. So every time when you go for your canvas, every time when you start designing something, you are becoming more aware towards it. That is what I mean here as consciousness, in order to develop that, first you have to get aware. That's the first step. Okay? Once you start getting aware, then you have to start taking action to implement it. Then you have to make mistake. Then you have to reflect. Then you have to practice. And then you become a master. Then it becomes a consciousness inside you. There is a ways to achieve it. Skill booster session doesn't mean that every skill needs to be mastered by a designer. No, you pick any best skills. Whatever you feel out of this hundred days, we are in the day 54. You pick anyone, any one or maybe two or three or I would say even 10 or 15 skills would be better. Because certain skills are very very small. You can able to master it if you master lot of skills in design. Aligning to your goals and mission. Okay? Not random skills. That's not required. Okay. Whichever is required. Then you start becoming more conscious towards those skills. Whenever that skill set is being executed or maybe whenever that skill set is asked by your organization, you will know what is the exact meaning you wanted to create. This is a big treasure which you guys have in front of you. And it will all be removed soon. Guys. After December 31st and in the month end also we are removing many of the content from this december first week. Please try to watch as soon as possible. Whatever you feel like watching it, okay? Because later it won't be available. Please try to take an advantage and it will be available for our community members. But the point here is this. We are doing it live so that the public can get benefit. There are a lot of people also who are coming from abroad countries and watching this. They are also messaging me in the WhatsApp Chakra session was good, this, that. But the ultimate point is you will have to practice it and become aware and conscious. Or else this is just going to go above your head. You're waking up early in the morning, you're learning. It's good. It will retain for two days. If you're not taking action, practice. It'll get forget. You'll forget it. If you don't want that, please try to consciously take this point and implement it in your real time design. Okay? Next LinkedIn job listings. Consistent layout and flow. Guide users job details and application steps. Have you seen LinkedIn job listings? It's like exactly guided with a proper arrow mark. Even if you do a payment page, you can see 1, 2, 3, 4. First address, next payment gateway card system. Then delivery details. Then final address and checkout. See that is what is called continuity. So people has to get that closure. What are you trying to say? Is this still connected or not? So that is actually a functional meaning of it. Medium blog scrollable section. Guide users from one post to next post seamlessly. Have you seen? Maybe I'LL show you here, guys. Okay. Recently I've been writing blogs, but yeah, let me check it out with you guys. Okay, let's go for medium block profile. Okay, where is that option these people have given you Block scrollable section guides readers from one post to another post seamlessly. Okay, where is this? I'm not able to see that scrollable guide. Earlier it was there, but now it's not available. Can you guys find that interface? Here, help me out with that. It's available in mobile. Mobile. But yeah, see they have. They have created this kind of techniques. Maybe in the desktop. It is not supporting. I don't know why, but it was an excellent feature. Guys, what happens is when you swipe it, it will automatically go for the next blog the relevant content. It happens in Spotify podcast if you are listening to a podcast. Okay, if you just swipe it, the related content of this podcast similarly available with any creator, it will automatically go. It is actually a wonderful feature and it's a very seamless thing. And what happens is sometimes while scrolling mistakenly, if you swipe this way, that comes by mistake. That is actually the interface needs to have some kind of a tolerance within that limit where a user makes little mistakes. Also it should not go. But anyway, that UI UX designer has to really take care of that. But the objective is you still are getting the more context towards it. Right? With relevant to that. Meaning that is more important. Spotify playlist. Yeah, exactly. I already told you that Airbnb listing these are all like very, very common, which you can see. You can say websites like let's say Apple homepage horizontal and vertical continuity guides through user through the product displays. Have you seen that? Like very, very common. But anyway, you will have to consciously feel it. Okay. Duolingo onboarding arrows and queues guide user through content account setup Amazon product page smooth flow and product to cart increases purchase completion. I would say this is a very good example because when you take a product see, even though Amazon website doesn't look very flashy and all, but they have created seamless across all the devices for all the countries. If you start putting a product into a cart and if you go for the payment, it's all properly guided for you. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. It's a very, very superb. I would say an interaction underflow booking.com Google search result logical flow from ads to organic result. I think I showed you this in the previous day. So physical product. When you take Tesla dashboard flow is easy. Amazing example guys, have you seen Tesla's dashboard It will be like a all add all display. Like let's say you will not differentiate between under the steering till the end, it is all continued display. You guys have to see that. Maybe I'll show an example. Okay. It's like a fluidic display. Look at this. This is one variant, but there is another variant. Ah, look at this. There will be a variant where under the steering you will have the entire thing connected till the end. That means you will not know where is this user interface. But whenever the time comes, like let's say whenever that functionality is required, like let's say you want it like let's say the map to be on, if you're switching on that navigation in your steering button, automatically that map will pop up. Whatever related information to the map, it is required, it will all pop up to the driver and the next. There will be a battery symbol, there will be a volume symbol, there will be air conditioning. Those are all like vital conditions which will be available. So based on the need of the user, whatever is required at that time, the interface will produce that. This is called infotainment system. You are creating a seamless user interface which is like mind blowing. Can you see here? Can you see this is what is the thing? Can you see here? It goes till the end. Amazing feature. I like it in this Tesla like you'll feel like the fluid going there, it's like you have to experience it live guys. If you guys have seen it live, you will get mind blown. Tesla is like wonderful in terms of this dashboard design and all. In fact many companies have benchmarked these people and they have created look at the steering wheel. That's like advanced steering wheel whatever these people had. And many sports car also has that feature. But they are like very pioneers I would say. You can see this. So why end of the day the user has to get notified with some functionality. It's not like we are creating user flow. Dashboard design, color graphics, what is it going to do? That's what is majorly important. So next is Coca Cola's ribbon design. Ribbon like graphic leads to I around the brand name. It's a very simple flow, right? So it's a normal thing. IPhone packaging. Smooth unboxing guides user from box to product seamlessly. How many of you guys felt it? I don't have the package nearby. I actually recently opened one. I got this mouse. Okay, I. Okay fine. If you take that box, what happens is the moment when you first open that box, it will actually come in a primary packaging which is like a carton Box. Okay. The carton box is designed in a way. Even if you drop it from the second floor, nothing will happen to the product inside. Apple has really thought that for all electronics products, if you guys buy any Apple products, please observe that from the start of the end they have an excellent package which is like a rain proof. Even if rain or anything comes, that is actually a 30 micron thick polyester sheet, polyethylene sheet. And it will be sealed, vacuum sealed. So even if you put it from the height, nothing happens. See Functionality. And also when you take and open it, what happens is first the brown box will be there. If you open it, then the actual package will come. When you take that package from the start till you reach a product, the arrow and the guide will be there. Even if you. Let's say there will be arrow to peel the sticker, you have to experience it. Guys. See, there are designers who are sitting in Apple to design this package. That's why Apple is charging. Crazy people pay 1.5 lakhs for a phone, not even a laptop. And still they continue to pay. Because Apple is touching your senses, not your usability or functionality. They are touching your senses to make sure you are really glued to this product. And it's not like when you open just like that and then you take the mouse, they'll build that curiosity, they'll build that flow. They'll build that what you call connection. And then it will be revealed what happens. You will be so happy. You will be like extremely wonderful. And then if you take, if you peel that slow sticker automatically what happens? The next level opens. And when you open, the first layer will be like a white sheet. Okay. Then then another small arrow will be there. Then you will have to remove that. Then automatically the only the top portion of the mouse is visible. If you open laptop, it will be even more stunning. Guys. Okay, I am telling about the mouse because recently I got this. So this particular portion will be visible. You'll be a little curious. Hey, what is this mouse? Is it upside down or is it front or something? So this is called visual flow. You are creating a flow using the arrows, using the cues, using the what you call the lines and everything. And then you open that full package and then you see the mouse and then you take it. This is exactly called user experience. User experience is not called UX and doing some research. And then user experience lies in every aspect of your entire product design. If you are understanding it, your entire journey being a designer will go very, very enjoyable. Guys, you will not just Work for job, this, that and all. You'll work for fulfilling that. You will work for creating something very meaningful and seamless and beautiful for the people which they will not forget. See, we are talking about Apple package, right? Entire world is talking about that. The entire mobile industry packaging. DAPA changed when iPhone come up with that box package. How many of you don't know this? Many companies have started copying that. I would say 99% companies copied that. Apple has brought a very good box design of the mobile which is exactly like a mobile ship. That's it. No big, no small, very sleek, minimal. And every company has started copying that. Literally. Okay. Even the way in which it is unboxed, it has been created the same flow to the other people. Okay guys, I want you to guys to switch on your camera. Why everybody is switching off? Please come here. I don't know like whether are you guys connecting with this concept or it is going above your head. Can you tell me is it understandable? Type out in the chat if you are able to get it. Type out in the chat if you guys are getting it. Yes, yes, yes. Okay. Only two people. What about others? Great. Okay, so Starbucks coffee. Visual flow on the cup guides users logo and brand elements. Boeing aircraft interiors. First class cabin layout creates a continuous comfort. Have you guys seen Airbus and Boeing interior? You'll have to see Qatar Airways. You have to see this Etihad. Okay, so these like Etihad and all like extraordinary interiors. You will see a proper design over there. Okay, look at this. Can you see some continuity? Can you see some flow? The arrangement of this entire cabin will create a very good experience for the people who are going to see that. Okay, so experience is not just creating this dapa, this screen, okay? That is a small part of it. Experience is all about how the customer comes inside. The client comes inside, how? What do you feel when he comes inside? Yeah, we'll have to create a perfume. Okay. Yeah. Of course when you go into a very big airlines, premium paid airlines, the perfume smell also matters which needs to be aligned with their brand. And when you go and sit, they have to be guided which direction to walk. They'll have to see the numbers. So the number has to see very, very prominently. It's not like the conventional airway where we have to go and find out by bending here. No, it will all be very prominently available and each and every seat will be illuminated under so that the lights are see. Can you see here? You don't have to watch out. It will be consciously available. You will have to just go see, this is all like navigation. And when you go automatically, the seats are placed ergonomically in an inclined direction so that you won't have to consciously move. It will already be in the position where you are comfortably seated. Along with the monitor you wanted to see along with the baggage you wanted to keep and let's say headphones, light glass tumbler, everything is being put inside it. It's actually a premium class, business class. But yeah, that's experience. That's what people are paying for, right? It is twice higher than the normal price of the aircraft, the air ticket. So they want to create the seamless experience. Look at this. They have a neck, they have the neck pillow. They have this lumbar support. They have this what you call side buttons. See, even you don't have to press your buttons upside, if you need something from the arrow stress, you just have to press it next to you. It's like your seat away. So understand each and every interaction, each and every experience created by these airlines is going to make the customer feel I have to come again and experience this. I have to come again and buy this. I have to buy the Apple product again. I'll have to go and use this website again. I'll have to go and use this product again. So that is the ultimate success being a designer. Guys, you need to get this many logo. If you take Amazon logo A to Z Reinforces brand cohesiveness. FedEx logo, Nike swash subway logo. Toyota logo. Particularly subway logo like arrow guides user to emphasize freshness and speed. Toyota interlocking ovals suggest that interconnected and reliability in a continuous loop. So many examples guys, you can able to take everything. But the point here is are you guys able to consciously visualize or not? That's the whole thing. I can give you a lot of engagement metrics, statistics and everything. But if you guys are hands on touching everything, then only you can able to impact this Ultimately why we are doing this. I told you already, continuity improves 30% higher engagement and 25% memory retention and 20 percentage increase in cart to check out conversions. If you are not able to find it out this you will not become master at it. Okay, there are some practical tips before we close this call. I will tell you use subtle arrows and shapes. I already showed you. By using minimal dots and shapes itself, you can able to create that apply gradients. You can able to create some kind of a box with a gradient. And also you can try it out a different meaning to convey a flow. That's also possible. You can open Canva or you can open Figma. You can open PPT and also try creating some arrow marks. And try to create some gradients which is from starting to end. That also conveys a different visual flow. Okay, visual hierarchy is the key. Ensure continuity aligns. And also with the primary information leading down. And color continuity. You can use many color palette. Create unified experience across different scenes. See guys, I can able to go deep into this topic, but I will have to share screen and do it takes little time. But get the concept practice part. Please do it at your end. Okay. If you need any support you ask me, I'll be able to happily help you out. Okay. And a smooth transition animations like fading, sliding, create seamless, continuous transition. It's all up to you. You can able to create that, but you have to first crack the story what you wanted to tell with your user. If that story is very clear, you can use the subtle elements to convey the same meaning. Are you guys in line with what I'm saying? Okay, you can use Figma Smart animate. In Figma there is an option to animate. You can create timing like 650 microseconds or 500 microsecond. You can create slide animation. You can create this transition smooth. So that is very, very possible in animation. And you can use another app called Protopy. This adds continuity elements like animation that visually guides users. This is an AI tool. You can try it out. There is a tool called Maze. Test continued user flow by observing user interaction pattern. I have not used this tool guys, but I've heard this is an excellent tool. Industry uses it majority of the times. Okay. So I would highly recommend you to experiment this one. Create a free account in Maze and put your user flows and try to see how the direction is coming. And you can also test it out very easily. Okay, and next is Adobe xt. Industry uses Adobe XT sometimes. Figma is like a joke. Many people don't use it. People professional softwares, they use only Adobe xt. They don't get this Figma. Because Adobe has a protected firmware. Figma. I'm not sure, like in the last two, three years only it's getting very famous. But Adobe XT is like very classical built firmware and it will not get crashed or you can't hack, or you can't do anything with this. Okay? And if you open Figma, many of the plugins when you open it will get crashed. Adobe XD is little stronger and it is an industry built one. So you can also Try with Adobe XD many prototyping tools allows designers to test an adjust continuity in real time. And yeah, canva very simple tool, non designer tool. You can able to try it but it doesn't matter what tool you're using. But what it matters is are you connecting the dots and giving the flow for the user? Are you giving the story for the user? Are you creating the visual user experience or not? If you are not able to try to create it, then you ultimately failed. That's the whole objective going forward. Okay, So I would recommend you to come to our upcoming webinar. Guys. In fact, November 14th is our November 24th. Sorry, number 24th Sunday is our webinar which we have planned. So kindly come and register yourself. I'm also putting the link for that same. Okay. And I'm also putting out our podcast channel link. Please do come here for our podcast. What's happening. Okay, Upcoming webinar. Please pass it to our other friends, whoever might be interested. Okay. See, I used to be telling. Oh sorry guys. I used to tell guys, please make a utilization of our free webinars. Now it has become paid. What to do? But anyway, for. For our community people, we can still make it free. Not a problem. Just reach out to me for the public it is definitely paid. Okay, Spotify and I would say LinkedIn. Many people are asking my LinkedIn profile. I don't know why, but anyway, I'm just sharing that. Okay, so I've just pasted in the description, guys, you guys can go and check it out, no problem. And I'm also putting it in the chat box. Yes. So the final takeaways what we have is understanding and applying the principle of continuity in design enables students to create intuitive and seamless user experience and is not only enhances flow and usability, but also strengthens brand engagement. I wanted you to give you one live activity, guys. Okay, Create a storyboard. Please write it down very carefully. Okay? I wanted you to do it because if you're not able to create a story, you can't create an experience. It's not about connecting some lines and dots. Create a storyboard flow for any user. Flow. Let's say you want to create some interaction. You want to create some kind of a physical interaction or digital interaction. It doesn't matter. For me, you have to create a storyboard of an app, that onboarding process or anything. I'm just giving you an example. But you'll have to connect it with some cues like lines, arrows, gradient. Make sure that flow is very evident. One Flow. One simple flow. Evident flow. For me that's important. Okay, you have to just send a screenshot to me in WhatsApp. In our group, you send. Don't send to me personally. Send in a group and then you will know what is mean by design. I mean law of continuity, law of closure, law of this flow. Whatever we are talking about. Activity two and three is fine. You can leave it for now. You can design a product tour screen. If you are really advanced in understanding this concept, you can try to do with the product tour of creating a continuous elements. If you go for any new application, there will be an arrow which will be showing the features of the app. Have you seen? It's because of that. Okay, you can create a packaging design also. But that's not required now. Guys, first try it out. And you will first have to understand the concepts clearly and create one user flow with a storyboard and send it to me. That's more than more than enough. Okay. And I will also request you to give me one one information, guys. Okay, whatever is your top learnings, I would recommend you to copy that link and please give your best rating, whatever you learned, your top three takeaways and then your one action point. Okay. What did you learn in this entire session? Because we've been one hour, we've been connected in this topic. I don't think anybody has taken one hour in this law of closure alone. I've given you examples, case studies, practical statistics. Also why it's important for the business. Definitely it's a huge value. I believe in this session. But if you reflect on the learnings and then if you take action for the story about whatever I told you, then it's going to be a big difference guys. Or else you'll forget it. Fine. So will you give me the rating and the whatever learnings you are reflected? Don't just type it's good, good, bad, write how it is bad. Even if you're writing a bad review, write how I can able to improve. That will be an improvement from our side, right? So click that link and.
