Day 55-Learning by Doing - part 1-100 Days 100 Skill Booster Sessions

Jagadeesh P walks through design thinking with Aravind, covering how to identify real problems, research users in the field, and build empathy before designing solutions. The focus is learning by doing in your own community rather than theory alone.
Okay.
Welcome guys. Welcome to the skill booster session. Day 55. And today is going to be really an exciting day.
Okay.
For you, not for me. I would say the reason being it is going to be your day.
Okay.
So every day we are talking, every day I'm teaching, I'm teaching and yeah, like I, I got really tired. So the point here is you guys are going to now take a great advantage and going to do that.
Okay?
I'm going to give you some basic instructions and I'm going to help you with some strategies and techniques. But just one second guys. Let me put it in our other design verse community as well so that people who are interested can jump.
Okay?
Who else is there in design.
Change? Okay. And okay.
Excellent guys, excellent. Please switch on your camera. Let's start this call. It's already six zero four. We will have to go forward. Go ahead. Yes, fine. So very good morning guys. Again I wanted to tell you that three years before. Okay, not three years, I would say six years before.
Okay.
Somewhere around five to six years before.
Okay.
So I was very actively what you call exploring this design. I was also going into many places and I was also. He asked a question. What do you think for this topic is okay to collect information? Praveen, we think for this topic we can go and talk with some public departments and some psychologist, doctors and some of the people who are trying to solve this problem in an ngo. Then do it. He said. Do it means what? Find them and go and talk to them. That's it. No, you tell me Praveen, is it correct or not? Who am I to validate? He asked this question. Who am I to validate? Whatever. You are finding out a problem and you are going and talking to the people and then you are coming with a solution, right? I will help you and guide you if you are stuck. He said no, we are not sure how to go about this. No, you are on the right track. Only you have found out a problem. You understood? This is a thing. You. You found out.
You.
You said that these people could help you with good information. Go shallow, it's nearby. If you want any contact I can give you. There is one good doctor whom I am available. Whom available and inside nid also there is one psychotherapist doctor who is available. He can able to give you some information. Yeah, that's good. We used like one week gone. Yeah, this particular module two weeks gone. We were doing. We were doing but we are not reaching anywhere. Listen to me very carefully, okay? Connect. You're going to connect this.in this two days. Why I said this context. Okay, so two weeks we've been doing. There is nothing happening. We don't feel consciously. Something is happening. We are gathering lot of information. We are putting in the board. We are trying to make a sense out of it. We are trying to find. We found 300 problems from that one problem. Confusion becomes 300 times more. Whether what to problem to choose what problem to narrow down. Praveen, we are in a complete confusion. He came now, he asked him. We said we found out the problem and out of this 300 we think that this could be a great problem. And we are thinking this could actually solve it in a more sophisticated way. And it's like he asked one question. Whom are you designing for? We were like yeah, for the people. No, whom are you designing for? We developed a sophisticated website or whatever. Some. Some games we developed. And he said whom are you designing this for? He asked this question three times. Nobody knows the answer.
Okay.
We were. We were stunned. We did a two weeks of work. We collected 100 ppt. I mean 100 pages ppt. And then we presented. He asked only one question. Whom are you designing this for? And he opened the website called Faces of India. Okay, how many of you know this website? You guys will be mind blown if. I mean I don't know if you are really into the mode of confusion.
Okay.
And somebody asked you a right question. Listen to me, listen to me.
Okay.
I'm just sharing you the screen. He just asked this one question and then he showed this exact PPD to us.
Okay, look at this.
He just opened this website.
Okay.
Can you see this? How many of you know this Faces of India?
Why?
Everything is coming as a chat. GPT chat. I have to disable that plugin.
Search.
Can read remove from chrome.
Okay.
PSS of India. Fine, let me go into the website. Actually there is a website available but I'm not sure. I don't know how to exactly go and find it out. Okay, he showed this picture. Okay, so can you see here? Can you see something here? So what are you guys getting while you're seeing these faces? A typical. A typical face I would say here.
Okay, let's see this.
Faces of India. So he said are you designing for these people? Who's like farmer, who is like a everyday worker or poor not having enough food or you wanted to serve only for certain community of people or you wanted to serve for Faces of India? He asked this question. We said we are not sure what is happening but we need little Time to rethink it. Because what happened is in our existing system, in our existing school, college and everything, so we used to neglect all these things happening across our country and all these things. Okay, so we start to design one application. Let's. Let's do this project. We used to design one mobile app. Let's. Let's do this. All the people, what if people who don't even have mobile can't really solve and enjoy this problem? Or maybe get the benefit out of your solution? See, your problem may be something like mental distress or maybe sexual harassment or maybe something like you are going into a problem of bribery or maybe corruption or maybe poverty education. It could be very intangible problem. Also no problem. Okay, so how do you touch these people through your solution? So he asked this one question, okay? Everybody was in mute, like nobody is able to answer because we were doing some fancy data research and all these things. We got insights and we are going into the next stage of processing and ideation and all these things. But this one question, we stopped everything and then we reiterated everything. From the beginning, we have not exactly understood whom are we going to solve this problem for. We just randomly drifting away. Then I understood what is the importance of finding out user Persona. He did not teach me what is user Persona. He asked me only one question. In fact, in my entire team, we understood what is mean by user Persona. And he did not teach like user personalize a Google term. Here you can go and learn. But the point is he asked an emotional question. Whom are you designing this for? What is this going to do for these people? Okay, so he said, right now, whatever you are saying, the problems, everything, it's actually a very massive, what you call massive change. It's not a very small change, okay? It's not like moving some button from here and there. It's a massive change what you guys are thinking. So why don't you guys design a policy? He said, policy? How do you design policy? We can't design policy. Policies, politicians, they do, right? He said in policy design, NID students are sitting there, they are designing policies for the country which is very common for all the people.
Okay?
It's actually a systemic way of thinking. When you are a product designer, when you are a ui, when you are a designer, you think about holistically, everything. Not only you think about people, you only think about environment. Or see the ngo, people only think about environment. Politician will think about how they can able to retain their position and come for the next time. So a police or other people will Think about saving their reputation.
Okay.
So the engineer will think about implementing that technology. So technology people will talk about only the technologies what they can do.
Okay.
So everybody has their different hats to play while coming and seeing a problem. Let's say if a river is getting constructed inside the city. So people will talk about this. Politician will talk about how our people will get good water. Environmental will say, no. Many life is going into the problem. If we put this river, we have to naturally make it outside the city. Then the NGO people will come. No, no. No river is needed. Everybody will wear a hat to do the same problem. And then they'll come up with something. Technology people will say, hey no. This is really good. We can able to extract water from this particular place. And then we can use it for our industry and all these things. Right? So every time everybody wears a hat. But nobody wears a common hat. You can't wear that. It's really difficult. But being a designer, you definitely can bear that. You can design a policy which can able to satisfy all of the people. Saving the environment, saving the people. Reducing the pollution, reducing the need of the business people. As well as providing them whatever they want and then making its move. In UK there is a department called Policy Lab. It's actually designed by government. Product designers are working there. In Germany there is a department called Policy Lab. Department for policy design. They brainstorm with politicians, with with government people, with technology people, with engineering, with policymakers, with lawyers, with doctors, with psychologists, with public representative, with statician with data people. Everybody sit inside the table. How do I solve this problem of road accident? What people will do? Wear helmet. Find thousand rupees. Then road accident will come up. Police will say, right? Public will say wearing helmet is not comfortable. Here you. You put one proper road first let us then talk about road accident. Public will talk. Politician will say. The other party has not put the road for the last five years. Politician will shout out like this. Fourth if NGO people will tell. Government is also like this. People behavior is also not like this. Situation is like this. We have been. India is actually a third world country. After independence nothing happened. NGOs will shout like this. Everybody will shout. Guys, everybody has a way to shout on their own.
Okay.
But nobody knows how we can able to solve this problem. Integrating the needs of various stakeholders.
Okay.
Think about it. I'm leaving you this thought to you. You as a designer can take that place. Nobody else is there in India or other countries also. Very few people are really working on it. And these people are designing policies. That is foolproof how we can design a policy which nobody can bribe. How we can design a policy where nobody can cheat. How we can design a policy where people, without even knowing consciously, they are following that rules, right? That is called system design. That is called thinking on the perspective of everybody and solving the problem. There is no problem in the world which we cannot solve. There is a design studio called IDEO who has actually brought these things in a very, very first light.
Okay?
So what happened is IDEO was the first one who started thinking about this design. Thinking, double diamond, all these things. They started, okay? So what happened is these people have started solving the conventional problem in a more unconventional way. So government, okay, what happened is government came to these people and then they asked, hey, you guys are designing some fancy toothbrushes, some this bicycle. Then you guys are designing some user interfaces. And you guys are designing all these websites and app and all these things, right? Why don't you solve a problem of this uneducation? Go to Nigeria, go to Somalia, okay? Go to this third world countries. And actually we have been fighting and you know, this Melinda Gates foundation will get. They give this crores of rupees to the people. And then they go and try to solve this problem. And they sit with these people. They stay as a camp. And they also spread about good health, good nutrition and they give them some basic education. So what they did is ideo, entire design team, they went into this forest to field to understand these things, okay? In fact, ideas initiated a lot of project. But that was the very first thing. And what they did is they took out the problem, okay? They took out the problem and they came to the studio, okay? They said, guys, we've been so far solving many problems in the sense product, solution, okay? Service. What are we doing is a product, product, product, all these things. But this is something very different. This is called system. This is called a pure service. How do you bring a pure drinking water to the community? Through a power of product design.
Okay?
So IDEO has really requested this entire way of looking at design. They said we can solve it. They challenged the government, we'll do it. Government is also very happy if somebody else is taking this, right? Because everybody is fighting here. Politicians also fighting, NGOs also fighting. Public is also fighting. Nobody is really lacking. The system leader is bad. This bad, that bad, right? These guys have gone to the drawing board. So what they did is they tried to understand who are these people? What is the problem with respect to water, why are they not getting water? What is the reason in this region the irrigation is not happening. How can we bring the water next to this society? Or maybe can we move these people to the other way? See, nobody thinks like this, right? People keep on fighting but they don't really see objectively what is going to happen. And then they thought about okay, why don't we now think about bringing the rainwater and storing it properly. That's called rainwater harvesting. Do I have the capacity to put a technology in that place? They have asked thousands of question. Listen to this very carefully. They have asked thousands of question to narrow down on one problem. To narrow down, this is the real problem. If these people are given proper water to drink all of the other problem is automatically getting solved. So they came to the root cause of the problem. Water. Bringing them healthy drinking water. Okay, there is no technology, there is no money, there is no infrastructure. How do I still bring drinking water there? Again they asked a question. See IDEA has formed a design thinking process. Not just by random. They have gone into hundred of these projects and then they created one, not one field guide. How many of you don't know this? If you go to idea website you can able to download that material. It's. It's available for public free of cost. That is why we take it very granted.
Right.
Anyway, so Aravind, can you go to the idea website and download that 101 PDF and paste it here? I believe in the very last batch, I think I've before batch I did that. But anyway, just let me know if you're not able to find out. I'll send you.
Okay.
Yeah. So this one, not one field guide is coming out of an experience. How do you go and talk to your stakeholder? How do you interview with the people? How do you collect some insights? What are the methods which you can able to differentiate this rob inputs into insights. How we can convert the insights into ideas. How we can convert the ideas into prototypes. How we can make it prototypes into testing. How we can able to what you call do a multiple way of testing in order to find out which works good, which doesn't work good. People have gathered their experience and then they have documented that methods. Even if it's a third world country or any country or any problem or anything, this method is universal and it's applicable for everybody. And this is where the entire world of design started flipping and thinking about it. Oh many problems could be solved. Then the service industry started growing a lot. Product industry, service industry, both are actually available right now in front of you. You can able to go and work In India there are many design studios like this. In India there are many system design studios who are really thinking about it. In fact Studio Carbon which I think some of our people applied for yesterday job, right? Steadybusiness. Srinivas, if you go and talk about system design to Studio Carbon people they would be super happy with you. Srinivas, are you here? Guys, please switch on your camera. I want to see everybody. Shavi Gokul, Faisal Hasnain, Muthu Nayanshi, Patmavati. Srinivas, please switch on your camera. Guys, come forward. Okay, so he is actually attending one design task in Studio Carbon. So they have actually solved a roof problem which is still a sunroof for some weaker community of Gujarat. So they have actually come up with a lot of solutions. Very affordable roofing which is sustainable also, which is like so, so damn expensive. And they invented some technology for that. Okay, they solved that problem. So there are many studios who are working on this kind of a system design problem. So what do they do? They exactly start with something. And today I'm going to give you one activity. Guys. Okay, enough of context. Now I'm going to give you one activity where you're going to end it before tomorrow night.
Okay?
Tomorrow night, 8 o'.
Clock.
Some of our people, maybe few of our people have did this activity earlier. But this time it's going to be very different.
Okay?
That is why I want everybody to do it. It's not like hey Jagdish, I already have a lot of work here. I'm super busy. I don't think you can tell like that. Because you are here for a purpose, right? Thank you Aravind. Everybody can download that. Guys, take a PDF printout and I mean take a printout if you want. You can take a color printout also and put a spiral, what you call binding and keep it. I have it in my office. Nobody in my design team really talks about it. I go and give these things to the team. And then we used to refer when we go for any interviews and yeah, we used to go for some of the big hospitals of India like ames and we go for this, what you call Rajiv Gandhi. We go for this like many hospital like Ramachandra, we go for jsrm, all these hospitals, right? For research and all. So we used to go and talk with doctors. We used to go and talk with nurses. We used to collect information about the usability, the product, the usage, how people want, what people want. We used to go and collect. So what kind of a question should we ask Them how do we prepare a formative study? How do we prepare a summative study? How do we prepare an interview questions? How do we ask open ended question, close questions? How do we talk to a very new audience who are not educated? So everything is being put there. That guide is like a universal thing which you can have guys. If you're stuck somewhere, just put control f go and find that keyword. You will get some answers there on top of it. I'm also here we can able to help you. But the point is that is a proven methodology. Like a big treasure. That is what IDEO has kept it like an outsource. There are many materials which IDEO has you can able to download. But this is one such material. Like I have got really mind blown. I have gone through this entire pages. It was like amazing. Some of the principles when it will take lifetime for you to even implement that that much of concepts and principles these people have taught. Okay, so try to use that whenever you're trying to come up with a problem or statement or anything. Try to always, always, always use those materials which is there in front of you. Okay, so now I'm going to share my screen. Just a second guys. So how many of you got the clarity of what I've talked so far? Like I can able to little bit understand Jagdish, how this has been conceived. How many of you can relate to what we have talked about in the last 15, 20 minutes? Type out in the chat. Chat box is open, right? Just a second guys. Type out 1 if you are in line with. Yeah, it's clear. Type out 2 if you are Jagdish. I don't know what you're talking. Can you show me something? Only two people. What about others? Three, four, five, two. Okay, fine, fine. Two is fine. Let me, let me share the screen. You will understand. Okay? Don't worry. Okay, so this is the day 55. Okay, so we are going to get hands dirty guys. That is what is the major, major thing. Okay, so I'm going to give you 10 missions to complete in this two days, guys.
Okay?
It's going to be a very fast mission and I will tell you it is not like you're going to go through all the missions. 1, 2, 3, 4. This is not a linear way to work.
Okay?
This is a chance to go and explore yourself. And I'm going to give you the context, what you can able to explore and what you can able to come up with. Okay, so first let's talk about this one. So objective of Today what happens is you will have to identify a meaningful problem, guys. Okay. And you have to collect some information. In the sense if you are okay with the earlier problems, whatever you have taken it is totally fine. Or if you wanted to take something very, very new, you can definitely go and take it. I don't mind. That is not my big deal.
Okay?
For me the deal is you will have to do the activity. Whatever I'm telling you. Okay? Please make a note of it. Whatever I'm going to now help you. So why the power of real time project is very important. Why not always a classroom project or why not always a dummy project, right? So all the institutes and other things they teach you like you do some dummy project.
This.
That I don't believe in. This dummy project and all this. If you are solving something, it should be meaningful. Even if you're solving a very small problem, Chotu. Small. I want you guys to go and do it. You will only learn when you do it. You will only learn only when you take action and make lot of mistakes.
Okay.
So I'm going to tell you first of all why this project really matters. See guys, when you go and talk with the relevant people for the project, whatever you're trying to solve it will only give you a greater clarity to engage and connect with them. You're talking about this empathy mapping and all these things, right? If you don't do this kind of a project you will forget that word empathy. And I'll tell you, if you go for the design studios even many times, you will not be allowed to do this. Your client will ask, we don't want research and all. We want only website do it. We don't want research and all. We want only product. They will only push you like this.
Okay.
But you as a designer has to understand you will have to travel certain places. Even in my design department earlier they said we have really fought with the people and told them this is a very important thing. We have to travel to field, get some information, data, talk with stakeholders. Then only the study could be done. Yeah. Companies spending for all of our travel when we go, whether we go for Bangalore or Delhi, they used to put some star hotels for us to stay. And we are covered with all the travel cost, flight, everything they put. But the point is if you are in a small design studio maybe that luxury you can't expect. But you will have to do this. Even being a student. You will have to start thinking about this journey very, very clearly.
Okay.
So 82% of the hiring managers prefer candidates with the real world project. How many of you don't know this? That is why I am telling you do a real time project. Don't take any kind of what you call some college project. Hey, my institute has earlier said to do this in the bin B hands in the pinterest. It's okay, fine. But you're staying in your own cocoon. Please come out of it. And today and tomorrow is the day which you're going to experience it. Short term project enhances creativity by 45 percentage. Stanford design thinking. This is a very good study guys. By Stanford design thinking. This was actually founded by ideo people. Stanford design thinking. You can go to their website. You will find this website. It's a D school they call design school in Stanford Engineering and all these arts, law, every courses is there but design. Also Stanford has a school and they take only few people for teaching inside. Don't worry, they are going to tell the same thing. That guide is there in front of you. Don't spend 2 crore rupees. I think it is 2 crore or 3 crores to go and study there. You can able to accelerate that journey when you do whatever. In this two days I am going to tell you short term project enhances your creativity for 45 percentage. That's great. Let's go into first mission. Now you will have to make a note guys. Okay, first mission after this call ends.
Okay.
This call will end at 6, 45 or 7 o'.
Clock.
Max to max 7. That's it. After that you guys are going to find out a problem in any domain. Whatever you feel is comfortable, you can able to do it. Okay, I'll give you some quick hacks guys. You can able to find out some statistics. 70% of the successful project align with design passion.
Okay.
You will have to justify why that is really passionate for you. Everybody will choose their project passion only. But try to make sure it is really aligning with your problem statement. Your codex, your mission, your goals. Like let's say yesterday also we had few one to one with our students. Some people said fintech, fintech, fintech. I want fintech so I want to do some fintech. So these people are like okay, that's great. You choose some project which is very relevant for you. In this two days, what you can able to solve, go and find it out. If you are not able to do it, find some problem which is near to you. That's it. Don't think much, just do it.
Okay.
So you will have to find out any problem within a very very Short span of time which you can able to go to the field and solve it.
Okay.
This is the very very first thing. What is the concept behind this? See you have to align with your interest as I told you the topic which is more exciting for you. And make sure refer to your codex document please. If you are very confused about what projects to choose. Super getting confused. Go and refer your codex document. It will give you a lot of clarity.
Okay.
See guys, Codex document is not filling the word file. Certain people are doing that. Codex document is creating a chatgpt chat. Yesterday Manikandan had a one to one call with me. He had a perfect chat of the document. It's superb. Whatever question you ask that is going to act as a co pilot for you.
Okay?
Don't create word files. Word file you can write it but put it into a chat GPT and make it as a one chat.
Okay.
And archive that chat, duplicate that chat, save it and use it again and again.
Okay.
And once if you're able to find out some problem, try to list nearest location which you can able to go and visit certain people and must collect some photos and pictures and information regarding that. If it's really a super complex problem, I would recommend you to go and do a zoom call interview with them or phone call interview with them. But 99.99% you will have to go and find out some problem which is near you.
Okay.
Sometimes if it's little bit aligning to your interest and goals and mission, that's okay. Sometimes it is little different. But what I'm looking for is your problem solving ability. Many people are totally weak in this. You will have to know how to find out a problem and start to approach leave about ideas. I'm going to help you with creating ideas in the evening session.
Okay.
How we can able to brainstorm how we can able to bring ideas. How we can create some kind of a small smart prototypes. We are going to see something called paper prototypes and real time prototypes also. But the point is you will have to first think.
Okay.
You can choose healthcare like let's say example could be long waiting times in the small clinics. It's a great problem, right? You can visit a nearest. Nearest clinic next to your house, maybe one or two kilometers. Take your scooty or two wheeler, whatever you have go to that clinic and yeah talk to the doctor. Hi doctor. I'm. I'm. I'm Aravind. How are you? I'm from Design Institute and we are actually doing a great project. And in these two days we wanted to help any small healthcare sectors to solve some of their common problems.
Okay?
And you can completely trust me. And I am studying in so and so institute and he is my mentor. He is actually guiding me. And apart from your confidential information, what do you think in your small clinic is a big problem you're facing. The doctor is saying first the doctor will say who are you? All those things. Okay? Build that trust. Don't just randomly tell. I wanted to do a project.
Okay?
Just introduce and use a local language. That is why I'm asking you to go and find out a near place in you.
Okay?
If you go for the other state, people will definitely skeptical about your behavior and all that is why the local advantage is first very important to understand.
Okay?
And then talk to the doctor and then try to understand. Yeah, doctor.
Okay.
So you are having a problem of long waiting times. People are standing outside the clinic. Okay, how do you solve this problem now? He said we are not solving anything. We are asking them to come in a different time. But the point is I only look at timings from 6 to 10. That is my clinic time. Apart from this, I am working in government hospital. That is what a doctor will say, right? What he will say will tell. Typically like that only. Okay, so Dr. Is having only four hours detailing long waiting time. How do we solve it? How do you solve it? Good problem. Okay, doctor, what else you got? So many time. We are actually having a problem of patient are missing their prescription and all. Okay, fine. Don't try to come up with a mobile app as a solution, guys. Okay, I'm not asking you to design a mobile app. I'm asking you to observe what is the real problem. Whatever. I'm just taking an example of healthcare. Don't go and find all clinics and all. Okay, whatever is your interest. You go and find it. You can find even a shop. You can go to a guy who is selling something. In our last batch, some of our students have went to people who are like. Who are craft makers. In fact, the context was like that because we asked them to find out a craft and we consciously asked these people, our students to fix some problem which is craft people has. Some people have designed some posters for them to showcase their products graphic design project. Some people have solved some prototypes. Also they did some modification in their existing machine. I think Pfizer has did that.
Okay?
He has modified some existing thing in their machine and then he solved the problem. He showed them. In fact, that's a mind blowing project. I would say it's a Great project. And one of the student, he did a craft project. He went into some art. Art craft. I think it's punish. He solved some problem. But the thing is that shop guy did not give him full permission to access. Yeah. Problem will come like that. When you go and talk in the field, you will get a lot of problems.
Okay?
So you choose anything. It's up to you. This time I'm giving you a complete freedom.
Okay?
But you have to drive with the mission. Whatever I'm telling you.
Okay?
This is the first mission finding out a problem.
Okay?
So example I'm giving queuing app improved clinical efficiency by 30%.
Okay?
I don't know queuing system. I would put system not app. I'm very careful about it. You guys will come up with one website. See you design website. I'm not worried. But please understand the problem properly and present it to me in the evening. And give up some ideas then. When your idea says that building a website can solve this problem, do it or else no Jagdish. I'm a UI UX designer. I will only design application. There is no rule like that. And if you start talking like this, you will get lot of rejections in your interview. You will not be having any chance to go for this corporate design studios and all. Because those people are expecting people with a very very open and liberal mindset. Not a service laborers. Okay? Please remove that thought from here. That is why I'm telling you this. Because if you are not doing hands on, you are not going to learn anything.
Okay?
Don't worry. I'll give this prompts for you at the last of this session.
Okay?
Mission 2. Conduct a field work. Once you found out in your in your vicinity what you can able to solve this problem, go and find out the place where you can able to travel.
Okay?
Don't travel beyond half an hour to one hour. It's ideally not required. Then your entire day will go in traveling.
Okay?
Dress well properly. Try to find out on suitable people.
Okay.
And be professional. Take your lunch, water bottle and all these things. Take your phone full charged. And if you wanted to take any kind of a notepad, pen, all these things you can take. And you can keep your recording and all these things on.
Okay?
And take permission before you record some information. See, this activity is for you to just observe what is happening in real time. You may be sitting in the chat GPT or in your laptop and thinking this is a problem. Maybe some statistics will come. This much people are getting affected. But when you go to the Field. It's not like that. Reality is shit.
Okay?
Remember always reality is shit. Okay? Reality is always reality. So when you go to the field, people will tell this is not a problem at all. Go home. Thank you for your. You are a student, right? We are not having any problem. Bye.
Bye.
You'll have to change the problem immediately if somebody is not cooperating with you. Or maybe you have to find another stakeholder.
Okay?
People will never accept this as a problem at all. Because they are too comfortable with their habit that they don't even find that's a problem.
Okay?
Many people know that. Like let's say if you go to the ration shop or maybe if you go to the government ration shop, people are standing in the queue for a long time. You ask ration shop, what is the problem? We don't have any problem common.
Okay?
So find out some people who can able to help you with that.
Okay?
If they're saying like that, it's fine. You observe.
Okay?
No problem is there? So you tell me what we can improve in this system? Sir, you tell me. You have all the potential now.
Okay?
I'm going to help you solve this problem.
Okay?
If you have some kind of a counters for the people to stand, that would be better for us improvement. Okay sir, what else? In the. In the. In the standing queue while people are provided with some drinking water, that will be better. Okay sir, that's a great improvement. Okay, next. Next. What is it? Okay, if we can able to ask people to give some tokens to stand in the line before they come, that would be better. Right now we don't have that. People are just bashing around here and there. Okay, let us note it down. We are not solving problem yet.
Okay?
We are noting it down. Three problems, three improvements according to him.
Ok?
Not it downloaded. So your activity and objective is to completely immerse and get the data, get into a conversation. Don't do R and D and research over there.
Okay?
Just observe. You're just a note taker there. Asking question, taking notes. Asking question, taking note. Okay, so initially build the trust. Introduce yourself that you're doing a project and ask about what is the existing problem you want. Sir, I really wanted to solve one of your small problem before tomorrow end. Okay, don't worry about this. I'm not going to ask you any money and all these things. I'm just going to genuinely help you, okay? And tell them if you are really cooperating with me. And there is a very good surprise also which I'm going to Give you, okay? Because this is a true give back which I'm giving because you are also helping me with some information, okay? Tell that definitely he will cooperate. Second, he or she, whoever you're talking with, okay? Second, you have to find out some real problems or improvements, whatever these people are facing. Document this. Create a list of questions before you go there, okay? Each and every field, each and every problem. What you choose, it will have a different set of question.
Okay?
Try to. Try to understand that. Try to understand and try to frame that questions accordingly. Some of the questions you will not be prepared. You will have to go and prepare on the spot only. Like let's say if you are going for a park, it's nearby your house, okay? Public park. You wanted to go and solve some problems over there. You can just go to the park. You can ask the security guy. You can ask that park in charge, whoever is doing the maintenance. You can ask what is this park connected to? Is it connected to a municipality or is it connected to the nearest. What you call this? They have this, right? What is that? There is a board, forgot the name. Some nearest local body for the. For this department. Who is taking care of this park under their maintenance. Try to go and find the office. Maybe the VO office is in charge of that. Maybe the nearest government bodies in charge of that. Try to go and find that people, okay? And talk. Sir, I visited the park. It was really good. I took some good photographs. But what do you think we can do better? I. I'm a student. I wanted to help this particular thing for my project. And I'll not do anything. I'll just improve this thing.
Okay?
You tell me what is. Sir, people are spitting here and there probably. Okay, sir, what else? People are throwing trash here and there, okay? And people are doing some mal practices inside. We don't want these things to happen inside the bar, okay?
Right.
Observe, don't talk anything, okay? Just observe what these people allow them to talk and make the questions very, very open ended so that they can engage in a conversation with you. This is called open ended questions and doing primary research, okay? Collect. Don't interrupt when they're talking. That's the one thing which I would like to say, okay? And do lot of mistakes, get embarrassed, get some kind of scoldings. Who are you to ask these questions and all? Are you from. Are you from government? Who is making an inspection? People will ask you like that. You said? No, sir, I'm a student. I'm studying here, okay? This is my institute. Design for change. You can show our website or you can show our podcast. This is my mentor who is teaching that.
Okay.
We are doing a case study on a small project to help some local people solve their problem.
Okay.
If you allow me, I can able to do that or else. No problem, sir. Thank you. Bye.
Bye.
Come out of that place, okay? You have to learn it. When will you learn? This is how in reality it will be okay. Nobody will allow you to just like that. Go and solve your problems. How many of you know this? Zomato and Swiggy and all these applications and all you know how much streets these people have gone into to understand the real problem of food delivery. They have gone into the entirety of India to really find out the nook and corners. What these people are really suffering. The small vendors, the medium vendors, the big scale vendors, the hotels, the restaurants, the party and the people. How people are connecting in these people. How we can able to integrate the small, small supply chain for the proximity based location. What is this people need? How much cost can be the what you call the commission for the small vendors. And how much people can able to pay? How much we as a speaker can able to charge. How much we can pay for the courier part mean the delivery partners, how much fuel, how much everything they have gone and studied to the entirety of the detail to find out. This is the optimal system which can able to work. If people can able to order this and not getting in 10 to 15 minutes, they will lose the interest. Of course people are ordering in the hungry, right? They are very hungry. If this is not delivered on time, this entire business model will not work. And Zomato, Swiggy is not like joke. I would say these people, maybe they have taken some benchmark but extensive behavioral psychological studies. Just give me one second guys. My laptop is dying. One second once again.
Great.
Good. So back in track. So these people have not just found out this model on their own, okay? Behavioral consumerist and psychologists have really researched it about how the food delivery application can online work. They have did a very deep case studies in Harvard and Stanford for five years. Ten years after that only they have started finding out this business model is workable then. Now everybody has taken that business model. Swiggy, Zomato, all these people are just putting that framework and getting the answer. They have not found out the what you call like they did the research but not like the actual research. That is why when people ask me Jagdish, can I do Masters in design. I would say do PhD in design or else don't do it because there is no point in doing this Masters and all these things waste of time completely. Because I've did masters, that's why I'm telling you and I understood later only it is not going to have any value. But if you don't unlearn these things, you will not be able to deliver better results in your design. Because if you wanted to invent something new in design, that is actually a possibility to do in PhD.
Okay.
Or else there is no point in doing whatever you're going to do Master's again. You're going to come and work in a design studio. You can do it in 90 days itself. It's highly possible. If you take our program, you can able to get it. But you need to be very conscious, interested, passionated, consistent to do that. If you randomly drift here and there, nobody can help you. But if you wanted to reinvent something, you wanted to invent something which nobody has ever seen. That's called what you call a pure research, not this research. A scientific way of researching out and finding out something which people are required, then you will have to take at least five years to do it. You can't do it in five days. You need at least three to five years to complete a PhD and find something very novel. There are institutes in Dresden, in Germany, I would say Germany is one of the great institutes for design. Wonderful. I've seen many design institute research institutes out there who are doing this kind of a consumer psychology research, behavioral analysis. And there is a country called Netherland. You can find lot of good universities like Delft University and these people are TU University. Like these universities are extensively doing design research. That means they redefine the design systems, they redefine the way in which people are thinking and how designers can able to solve a very, very unconventional problems. There you will be given stipend for 1 lakh per month or 2 lakh per month for one year or two years. Where you can only focus on finding out something out of what people are doing that is very different. So already this models, whatever we are seeing, no, the payment method, the food delivery, the car application, the booking app, everything are very, very proven outside. Guys, it is not like nobody has invented here, okay? We are doing some here and there, some tweak, we are moving some color changes, we are creating a new color palette, we are doing and then we are calling that as a case study, see how we are doing it. But the point is there are two ways you can able to approach it.
Okay?
You can keep on doing five Years research. That is up to you. But you can actually think about how you can able to solve some real time problem even without any of these fancy methods. And that is what you guys are going to do now.
Okay?
That is why I'm asking you to find a problem. Go and find a stakeholder and start asking question. You will find lot more information. Guys, I'm telling you, ask open ended questions. Visit at least many locations.
Okay?
Visit at least three locations. Because sometimes you will not get the enough input from one location. If you're getting that's okay. Conclude and interview three to five people. If you interview only one people, you will get biased capture evidences. Please do it. Ask permission before they do.
Okay.
You can find a local craft shop. I told you, right? One example. So portfolio services for artisans increase sales by 20%. You can do that. But project with the direct user inputs have 60% higher success rate. UX Collective has said that. But that's not the point for you guys. Just do it. Don't think about anything else. Whether you're going to get the outcome or not.
Okay?
The mission three is all about analyzing the problem. You collected enough information right? Now come and understand. What is this real problem about? Grocery customers struggle to locate the specific items. Maybe this could be a problem. I don't know. Like you guys have to find out what is the reality.
Okay.
Digital store map increased customer satisfaction by 25 percentage. See problem and solution. This is how you can try it out. Guys, I'm just setting you a framework on the boundary.
Okay?
I'm not asking you. You go by this way only or you go by this way only. I'm just giving you a boundary. Don't deviate too much. And the very big problem with the student is full day they will think about what problem to choose. How many of you are like that? I know 18 people in this call are like that. Sorry. Including me. Okay. I am also like that. If somebody else is not giving me the what you call a push, I won't be able to do it.
Okay?
Who is like that? Type 1 analysis paralysis mode. Last time I did not allow that. Because last time I was behind the students. Everybody choose a project. You will not believe. Guys, we delivered 13 different project last time. 1, 3, 13 real time case studies. Out of 13, 8 people have solved the problem on the day. On that particular day you can ask. You can ask. There is a guy called Digvijay. There is a guy called Balaganesh. There is a guy called. Who's that guy? Faisal. Faisal. Has solved problem and there is a guy called I think Punish has proposed a problem. He has not solved it. And I think Srinivas has also conducted many interviews and all he has concluded that. And Shantilal. Shantilal has solved the problem and there is another many people have solved it real time going to the field not just documenting a case study in Behance. Okay, you have made some difference with these people and came home. In fact very less span of time was given to these people. But you guys are given a lot of time now. Okay, so analyze qualitative data improves problem clarity by 50%. That's why I'm telling you use this primary research and analyze this secondary information. Whatever you're getting from the online from website, from all these things and mix it. Okay so primary is the data what you're collecting from the field. Raw information. Sir, everybody is spitting on the ground. That's called data. Secondary research is what because of that unhygieny, how much people are getting affected. What are the healthcare department saying about it? What are the Indian government making some policies for the hygiene related things. Swachh Bharat something like that is coming, right? So primary is collecting data. Secondary is finding some information which can able to justify or strengthen this information. Maybe there is no connection between these two. But you try to make a connection. This is called analyzing the problem. Primary and secondary data. Try to collect as much as information as possible. Use chat GPT use some online methods and all these things and validate your observations. Try to understand and observe whether what these people have said is actually a problem or not. Sometimes it won't be, sometimes it will not be. Okay, so synthesize this field work and findings into a clear problem statement and you can use this chat GPT prompt. Guys don't worry and I'll give you this information also along with this. Don't worry, I'll give you this chatgpt prompts. Okay, how do I. I will put it in a file. Guys don't worry, you will get it. Guys go and mark your attendance first.
Okay?
I am going to give you 200 points for that. Whoever is marking the attendance in your learning management portal go to feed section and mark the attendance.
Okay fine.
So I'm just putting you mission one, okay? For this mission one you guys identify a problem statement.
Okay?
If you have gotten. If you're getting into the mode of confusion and other things please ideally use this.
Okay?
I'm just copy pasting you in a word file so that you can able to use that Prompts.
Okay.
Because many people sometimes are getting stuck with the prompt itself. So don't go into that mode and we are here to help you.
Okay?
Yes. So second, connecting fieldwork, if you need some kind of a question, you can able to use Chat GPT as well. What happens is when you use ChatGPT, you can get some quality questions. You can get some quality questions. How we can able to ask these people? Because it is very important for you guys to understand. Asking questions is going to give you a lot of clarity. Okay, you can listen to my podcast. Guys, earlier I recorded one podcast called One important quality of a Designer, which is asking question in the field.
Okay.
And you can listen to that before you go into the field. That would be super helpful. Aravind, can you help me with pasting that one? I'm too. I'm bothering too much. Arvind. Sorry. Arvind, go to Spotify and find out you can able to get that podcast and also collect some other podcast which is relating to research and problem solving. Okay, you can take that one day, one project that will be also very helpful for you. Okay, fine. Guys, I put three, what you call set of prompts into one document. Okay, let me come to this. So analyze the problem.
Okay?
Use certain chatgpt promptly, let's say summarize the problem examples of similar problem. Generate three, four possible solutions and how I can refine. There is no hard way, there is no rule book to do this. Guys, if you feel like only five minutes is enough to do this step, do it. But do it first. Don't skip this process.
Okay?
Sometimes you have to spend one hour. It's okay based on the nature of the problem. Whatever you chosen, people would have not given you enough information. Do it like let's say if you're finding out a lot of problems, choose one thing which you think is more impactful in that situation. People are spitting in the public park. How we can avoid super problems. Shed that mission mode. Go for the second mission. Go and talk to people, collect some information. Close that. Go for the third mission, analyze the problem. Okay, we can't do any prime secondary research for this spitting problem. Or can we try to find out some other public parks in America, in US and uk how they are maintaining the spitting problem. How we can able to avoid this problem. Okay, let them understand. Okay, let me go to this website. Okay, fine, 10 minutes. I did the research online. I understood. Okay. Then I went for YouTube to watch some case study how public parks have been solving this problem. Okay, Maybe they put Some littering boards or maybe people who are coming inside, they are checking whether they have a pawn or not. If that is avoided, then this problem could be solved, right? If nobody is coming inside this park without a pawn, then there is no chance for them to spit that right? See, Simple. You are not only just telling people, hey, stop, stop, stop. Instead you're not allowing people to do it. Then how come it will happen? Okay, Something like that. So you can do any solution, guys. But it should be a very, very quick solution. Practically possible solution. Quick solution can be implemented in one day. Okay? Don't write a very big problem solution which will take three years for you to implement that. That's not required. That's not the objective of this project. This is the quick study, quick problem. You have to solve it tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day time which you have to solve it.
Okay?
So this is about analyzing the problem. So conduct online research for more context. Write a clear, concise problem statement. Review. I mean review your notes, photos and all these things. That's all. Fine. Mission four, ideate.
Okay.
Mission three and four, you're going to do it in your home only.
Okay?
By the time mission 3 and 4 is there, evening will come 6 o'.
Clock.
I'll be there and I'll be understanding your problems. I'll be talking with you guys. If you need any support, I'll be able to help you out.
Okay?
So first you can able to shortlist 3, 4 ideas. Evaluate the pros and cons. Create a mind map if possible for the solution. Evaluate your solution which is more feasible, which is more doable before tomorrow. And I would say which is more impactful.
Okay?
And brainstorm multiple approaches to solve the problem. Build reminder, app improved adherence.
Okay.
Everything is app, application, guys. Even the system is corrected. Build reminder, system.
Okay, fine.
So always think about system. Guys. Don't think about app or website. Think about system how we can able to improve it. Got it? So patient missed the medication is a proper SOL problem problem, right? So how we can bring a solution? So think about it. You will be able to get a lot of information. Teams generating Multiple ideas are 30% more likely to find innovative solution. I'm going to give you some information also. Guys. Just wait. So this is like a mission four, right? Give me a second. Give me a sec. Give me a sec. Because I have to prepare prompt also for you guys. So that you guys will also not get too much confused. You will be in only action.
Okay? Okay.
Mission four, fine. So this is all about ideating. Got it? We'll go to the last mission which is called Prepare for the day two. Last mission is just preparation.
Okay.
Prototype needs to be tested within next 24 hours.
Okay.
Are likely to succeed. MIT Design Labs has said that.
Okay.
One of the big design labs I would say in the world. Set the stage for prototyping, organizing your data and keep an action plan. Sketch a basic prototype or outline the testing idea and list the tools and materials needed for the day too.
Okay.
And busy professional forget to water the plants Smart planter reminder reduced neglect by 50 percentage problem solution. I'm just giving you some examples guys so that you will not get lost. Okay, Use this prompt, create a checklist for prototype. This is last.
Okay.
This is not required for you guys. Ideally this will come at the last last last.
Oh, sorry.
Many people are asking me questions. What is it? Questions? Oh, it's chat. Okay, thank you Arvin. Thank you guys. Copy that podcast link.
Okay.
It will be definitely useful for you.
Okay.
Yes, your sheets is ready guys for the five missions. Okay, I'm going to give you. So check this link whether it's working or not. I pasted in the chat box. Can you check that link? Please confirm me, guys. Yes. No, use this one, guys. This will be better. The reason being, I mean you can able to easily use this. It's a very short URL. Okay, you can try to do this. Fine. So your time has now started. Now what you have to do. I am just quickly summarizing you. Your first mission is after this call. Take a short break, have your breakfast. Think about what you can really do for this country or your place at least. Okay, around. Around your place I would say. Okay, come up with a very good problem statement which you think okay, this is possible and this is doable. Okay, and let me quickly recap the mission. One is all about identifying certain problem.
Okay?
You find out something which is most suitable for you guys and conduct a field work. Don't travel beyond 30 minutes to one hour. Then the travel time will be really high. If you feel many people could able to answer your zoom call, that is okay. Allowed.
Okay.
But don't be lazy to go to field analyze the problem. You can go to ChatGPT, you can use perplexity. You can use online method. I would say you go to websites of those particular problem statement and try to understand from the website perspective. Even ChatGPT also nowadays analyzes the website. Try to do that. Okay, Use that Pro searches, three to four pro searches and yeah, then you come up with a lot of ideas which we will see in the evening time.
Okay.
And then I'll tell you what you can do for the day two tomorrow. For now this is your thing.
Okay.
Are you guys clear on the four missions? What we are planning for this? You guys got time till 6 o' clock now? The time is 7 5, right? Sorry. URL is not working. URL is not working. That's a great thing. Let me check it out. What it is showing? 4, not 4 error. Super. Thank you so much.
How come this is becoming a bit problem?
Just a second guys. Yes, it will come now. Thank you for letting me know. Subhash. Subhash, right? Yes guys. Perfectly working. So I can able to put in the chat box now. Please use that link.
Okay.
For the first four missions.
Okay.
This is just a guide guys. Don't rely only on this. I'm just giving you a heads up so that if you're completely stuck, use these prompts so that you will get some idea to start with.
Okay.
Instead of just sitting, ideally. Mom.
Okay.
Just you can able to start with this chat GPT prompts.
Okay, fine.
I'm just going to give you in Your. In your WhatsApp as well. What is website link here? DBA is asking for website link. Okay, fine.
So.
16 hours hackathon cheat sheet for proms.
Okay.
I'm just pasting in our group as well. Guys. You can able to take it down.
Okay, cool.
Fine. Everything is clear. Did I make it clear or practically ask me some questions before we end this. Another three more minutes is there. We can end this call. Come on. Yes. Guys, switch on your camera. We'll take a snap. Come on. We'll put it in our learning management portal. How many of you know when you go and comment in any of your post in learning management system?
You.
You guys are going to get points for that. You guys can get points for that. Okay. But ideally just type out what is a learning what you got in this program. Don't just type. Hi. Bye. J. I have some questions. So good.
Yeah.
Hello. Found something. Arvind. Arvind, your Internet is unstable. Type out in the chat box. I can able to answer you.
Okay.
So where is Faisal? Faisal is there in this call. Faisal, can you open your mic?
Okay.
Punish is there in this call. Okay. Punish Faisal, if it's coming, he can able to talk. Yes. Faisal, can you share a few experience with our people? What you did in the earlier field? How was it useful? First of all, how are you? I think you're in some health problem.
Yeah, I am better.
Okay.
If you're comfortable you can talk or else please take care. Maybe later you can talk.
Okay, I will talk no matter.
Yeah.
I think it's about 1.5 months ago we sir gave us an activity to go some craft shop and spend two hours with them and identify their one or two small problem. Then take ideate how you can solve that in one day. The time was one day for that project. So all people go to some craft shop and other which was relevant for them. And I also choose one craft shop nearby my home which was like for some craft crafting some woodworks. So I go there, I talk with the person who was working there and he gave me permission like to spend some two hours with him on his shop. So at that day I was first of all I was watching him always working on the machine and other. So when he was working on that machine, that machine was lath machine for making the crafts of wood. Yeah. So by observing him I took some problems. So at that moment after observing the main problems then I go to ideate how I can solve some problems relating to that. Then I and in the next two hours I totally prepare the idea of solving that problem. Then in next one I prepared a small prototype of that idea on carpenter shop by my own. Then I again go to that craft shop and implement that.
Yes.
Superb. He has implemented real time guys and he is working in a design studio in Pakistan. But he has chosen a problem which is there in front of him. That's what I'm ideally trying to say.
Okay.
You can choose anything, whatever is comfortable for you. But you will have to solve it while you're coming home tomorrow night. If you are not solving it. And then if you're doing a case study like a student and a project. I'm extremely sorry. You're not going to learn anything.
Okay.
Yes. So Aravind has asked one question. Once I found the problem, how can I frame the questionnaire without asking chatgpt? How can I improve that skill? First of all you will have to immerse into that problem Aravind and you'll have to think about.
Okay.
If this problem really exists, what are all the ways I can able to help it? If you have that intention with you, automatically you will have questions. You tell me one problem. Can you bring a case study please? Arvind, this is called analysis and paralysis. Don't do that. Now you find a problem. If you are getting stuck not able to ask question, bring it to me. I'll tell you how we can able to structure it.
Okay.
Ideally questions could be anything guys. It's based on the context. Like let's say if you're going and talking to a villager. If you're going and talking to any educational guy or a doctor or a psychologist or maybe a healthcare worker or whoever is your stakeholder. First of all building the trust is very important. Second, getting pre warmed them. You have to warm them up by why this problem is very important. By getting some answers from these people. How you are going to change something which is very very vital for their hospital, for their public place or anything. If they are getting this initial trust building and warm up then they will be able to answer any questions. Have a little cup of tea with them. Have a little lunch with them. Talk with them casually. They will become a friends of you. Then you can ask many questions. Don't first of all go and ask. Sir, I'm doing primary research. Why in your hospital healthcare is a big problem. Nobody will answer you if you go and ask like this. Sir. Many people are dying in your hospital. Sir. Why it is happening? They will throw you out of the hospital if you go and ask like this.
Okay.
First build this trust and start talking casually. And then you build that enough information. Then automatically you will know what questions to ask based on the context what you have. You don't be biased with your questions first. That is the only caution I would say. Okay, don't tell that. Sir, this is a big problem in India. What do you think about it? Then he will become a politician and then he'll start talking about that. You ask them sir, what is your problem? See always your question should be open ended. What do you think can be improved in your existing hospital? Sir, if I have to solve you one problem in next one day what do you think I can able to solve? Tell me practically. Sir, I'll do it. Sir, this parking is always a big problem. Sir, in our hospital or maybe in. In our. In our public place everybody is randomly parking. Can you help me with this? Okay sir, next.
Okay.
That's. This is called primary research. What else do you think? Oh you. You thought maybe you need to have some high 500 set of questions and you'll have to just casually observe guys. Just that's it. Whatever these people are telling, just engage in a conversation. That's enough.
Okay.
You do lot of mistakes Arvind. Then only whatever I'm going to tell you will go into your head. Take action. Do mistakes. Many people have a problem in doing that. Right? That is where we Are not going to learn it. Only when you do mistakes go to field get shit Lot of what you call different stories. Last time punish went to a field and that guy did not answer him anything.
Okay?
He was like calling me like this. People are not allowing me inside the shop. This guy is telling we can't share you anything. Yeah, that's how it will be. Okay, so all the best guys use that sheet. Whatever I sent you in the group as well.
Okay?
If you're stuck somewhere, you use that sheet or else totally fine. It is called critical thinking. Thank you all. Critical thinking and all. We are not talking it here. You are just asking questions. That's all. Asking question. Observe. Asking question. Observe. You can ask permission if they are comfortable. Sir, can I record your voice? I'm not going to show anywhere sir. I'm just for a record purpose. If that person is becoming very friend of you, you can even take a video. You can put a camera. Sir, I will mask your face. I will not put any of your this thing in your. With your permission only I will put it. But if you don't require, we will not do it.
Okay?
That is why your brain and observation is very important. More than a camera or anything. Because you will have to observe. Please document. Don't think you are a very high Buddhu and all these things.
Okay?
Always document whatever these people are telling and then write it down. Write it down. Write it down. And then when you come to the home you will understand what these people say.
Okay?
Don't think. I will come to the home and I will recollect everything. Our memory is so bad. We will forget everything in next one hour itself.
Okay?
Try to do that. Fine. Good. So what's happening in the chat today? Muthu's birthday. I got a notification. Can we have a Shima? Oh that's great. So what do we do for the birthday baby now? Just redesigned a prototype of machine.
Okay.
Meanwhile Faisal has shared one picture. Guys, go and look at. Look at that. He has created one prototype. Last time very simple prototype in his house. Just paper cuttings and all these things.
Okay?
But ideally whatever is your capacity, you can do it in that one day or two days.
Okay? Fine. Okay.
Yes Muthu. Muthu on spot. Muthu is there in the call. Muthu, where are you? Muthu, I'm not able to find you. Please come on the camera. Just a second. How do I bring you to the spotlight? At spotlight. Hi Muthu, how are you? You're on mute.
Fine.
Sir, happy birthday.
Thank you sir.
Okay. What is the one thing which you wanted to accomplish before next birthday? I'm a goal driven person here. I'll be like not. Hey, cut the cake. Enjoy. Throw all this part. What is the one thing you wanted to achieve before next birthday? Tell me. No judgments. Tell me openly, honestly.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you. It's okay. You tell me what you want. Everybody is going to tell happy birthday only to you.
Okay.
Type this thank you and copy paste in your clipboard. Copy paste.
I want to work in a design agency. But that one will be okay.
It's good.
It's like fine.
And what else you think you would have achieved in one year? Leave the salary, job and all these things. True impact. What you would have created in next one year.
I want to create an impact and a solution like what I'm going to do. It should be impact like in the people. People side. Like it going to be change. Change the people point of view. Like I'm going to solve a big problem in these two days and which is going to bring a solution for millions of people. So I'm waiting for really great.
Really good. I'm so happy for you. All the very best for you. And I'm sure you will do the great. You'll do the best.
Okay?
All the best. All the best. And I wish you happy birthday and thank you. Yeah, that's. That's. That's what we can say. And I'm completely there for you to help you out to reach that goal before the next year.
Okay.
12 lpa. You don't need one year muthu. If you are working really properly you will able to get even in six months. Right now you may be in a ground zero. Maybe Muthu is already getting some offers. 3 LPA, 3.5 LPA. Something he's getting. But we are not really happy with what we are getting so far. Because Muthu has a different aim and we are having a different. In fact we rejected a lot of interviews in this recent days with Muthu. Okay. So it's all for good.
Okay.
So you will get a great offer. You will get a great value matching offer. See we found a very good design studio. Salary is also less I think. The toy design studio, right? What is the name of that industry? I forgot baby. So what happened with that? Did you follow up with that guys? I mean the company was really good. The work nature was good. You are the only designer. That's where you are getting a lot of opportunity to go and Interact with the stakeholder. What happened? Did they announce you the result?
No sir, they have been putting in the words.
Follow it up with him. Definitely you will get hired in that role. Okay, so the salary was less but the learning for him will be very very high. Imagine guys, if three months he's working in that kind of a studio he would have made a sensational project with him. With that project we can able to pitch for any big industries immediately. He can skyrocket to 10 LP or 8 LP very easily. Because the moment when you're having a real time project working in an industry that experience counts. Whether you are working at three months or two months you will have something so tangible to show for the people. Being a student it is little difficult. Maybe you can show this kind of a project what you're going to do in these two days. Because you will have more authority to talk to people. Because you have did it hands on. Nobody else can talk more than that project because you did it live.
Okay?
So that is why I'm asking you to do this kind of a real time project. And particularly today is the day birthday and Muthu, make it count. Because your birthday is going to be a memorable day and you can talk after a year that I started this project in my birthday and I've created millions of impact through this solution.
Okay?
I wish you all the best and happy birthday again.
Thank you.
Fine, fine. Fine. Take care guys. Take care. So that's it guys. We are coming to the end of this session. Any doubts is there?
Quick, quick.
Or else we can conclude for the day. We are almost done. Happy birthday Mutu. Happy birthday. Excellent. Excellent, excellent. Fine. And I'll share you many case studies also in the evening.
Okay? Okay.
Ideally if you're getting stuck and maybe if you wanted to guys to me to show you some examples I can able to show in the evening. But before that you have to go do lot of mistakes then and only you're eligible to see that case studies.
Okay?
Without doing that you're not eligible to attend the classes because you will not understand anything.
Okay?
I wish you guys to do lot of mistakes and come up with lot of learnings and stories and interesting things in the evening. And if possible many pictures and videos share it. See put it in some file.
Okay?
Whatever you're collecting, put it in word file, ppt, whatever you want just dump it in one place. Tomorrow we can able to use some magical prompts to make it as a neat case study in one minute. Don't worry about the presentation part you can do it. Okay, fine. Guys, take care. All the best. Have a great day.
