Day 56 - Learning by Doing Day 2 - 100 Days 100 Skill Booster Sessions

This is a YouTube video titled "Day 56 - Learning by Doing Day 2 - 100 Days 100 Skill Booster Sessions" recorded in November 2024. The content is a detailed instructional session led by Jagadeesh P, focusing on project completion, prototyping, field testing, and documentation for design projects. Jagadeesh P interacts with participants, providing guidance, examples, and answering questions to help them implement and validate their design solutions within a tight timeline. The session emphasizes practical application, rapid prototyping, user feedback, and professional presentation of case studies.
Yesterday or perhaps people who have started yesterday and when we were able to complete it. So this day is all about completion.
Okay.
So whenever we are doing a project, whenever we are completing it. Just a second. So it is all about finally how we are going to make it happen. Okay, so here like let's say sometimes if you have not not even understood certain parts of the problem or maybe you need more information or data or. Or maybe you still feel that something needs to be yet done. So don't worry about everything. Now the point here for you is you will have to complete the project before today evening. I wanted you to switch on your camera. Guys, just come forward. And I wanted you to promise me that before you leave this call today you will have to tell me that. Yes, Jagdish, I will take the action and then I will make sure this solution, I am going to implement it.
Okay?
So I wanted you guys to tell your problem statement as well. Whatever you took. And I know some of them who have taken whatever problem statement. And for the people who have not told me yet, I just needed to see your problem statement. The reason being it will be much easy for me to give you the examples accordingly. So that it would be easy for you to apply as well.
Okay.
Once again guys, let me just post it in the group as well. Just a second. Give me a second before we start. Just a second.
Okay, cool.
Let me share my screen as well. Okay, so we are in the day two. Okay. So yesterday what we have seen is a little bit glimpse of how to find out a problem statement. And how we dived into certain research and understood.
Right?
So a lot of people have also sent me their problem statement. And. And yesterday they have also asked me a lot of questions how to complete that. Just to quickly recap like let's say the missions. What we saw is actually about identifying a problem.
Okay.
The second is conducting a field work. Third is analyzing the problem. And fourth is ideate some solutions. A lot of people also got some ideas while they were doing the project. And also they have told me. Okay, so are you here SRI Balaji Jain. And then surrender Manigandan, please do switch on your camera. And Jayanandi, you have shared me one photo. I wanted to tell you. See, the photo should be taken in a way. It has to reflect that you did a project. It feels like you have taken with some friend or somebody. No photo. Taking a photo in the field is art. You need to know how to take it. For example, let's say if you're talking about the Bus stand. And the problem, you should point the photo towards backside. Your bastan should be there. Or that information name board should be there. Or you have to give the phone to somebody else. And you have to talk to people in front of that board and ask them to take a photo. Your photo should communicate a meaning. What you're trying to say. Okay, we are not taking photo randomly. A product designer needs to understand this skill.
Okay.
And then when you're taking videograph also it should be very meaningful and it should be very functional. What are you trying to say? People has to understand what you're trying to say.
Okay.
So I just wanted to correct you since you shared the photo in the field. But it should reflect that. Okay. So today you try to take that. Or else what I. What I'll think? Okay. Maybe this person has taken with his cousin or friend or somebody. That's a random field. People will think, right? So we should not allow that. Our field photo should be communicating that we traveled in the field. Like let's say I'll show you some photos which I took.
Okay.
Because you guys are attending this. Just a second. Maybe I'll try to see if it is there. I'll try to get it back. Very, very long back I had this photo. But I'm not sure whether I really do have it. Let me check it out. Bad luck. Let me check. Wait it. Okay. I'm just sharing you my screen again. Just look at it.
Okay.
So this is one project which I did in my graduation. Where is this? Okay, this is one project. What I did in graduation. Like this is the website I built during my college days. Like I'm just showing you. Just a second.
Okay.
Like let's say if you're taking. If you're talking about brainstorming, your photo should be taken in this way. I did a group brainstorming. Okay. I generated 100 plus ideas. So a picture should show that what you have did. Like this. Are you getting Jainandini, what I'm trying to say?
Okay.
And when you're saying like let's say. Like let's say I decided some posture for how this product could be carried.
Okay.
So instead of just showing that, my picture should also show that how this product could be carried. Look at this. So your picture should be taken in a way. What are you trying to say with that prototype? What are you trying to say? How the people will be able to carry this? How the people will hold it. Okay, so your video photo, everything should be taken in a way. It should convey that what you're trying to say. You understand, right? Your field study or your photo should be like in a way like they have many pictures of this. But I been only few. I put here. I used to talk in. In the. In the primary health center with the health care provider where I used to sit with the primary health care worker who wears that uniform, right? The white color dress. Anganwadi workers they call in in government. And the backside will be the primary health center hospital. You know, the government primary health center hospital will be very poor in infrastructure. And that that photo should convey that. Then it feels like you have did a real time project. You did a real time work.
Okay.
So that authenticity will come when you're going forward. Got it? Good. Yes. So going forward. So we. We read about ideation and all these things, right? But in the mission five, what we are going to see today is. Let me open it for you.
Okay.
So what we are going to see today is creating prototypes and testing out in the field. So whatever you guys have taken problem. Whatever you guys have taken the approach towards solving a problem, the day is today to go and implement it. We are not looking for any kind of a perfection or what you call any kind of a completion. Sorry, we need to complete it. That's it. Even sometimes you will have to limit to certain solution today. Okay, it's fine, no problem. But we needed a full completion today. Let's say your name, board, project or any other project. What you guys take, try to think about solution from now on. I'll give you some hacks, how you can able to create more ideas. And I'll give you some prompt as well. Don't worry. And then you have to quickly narrow down before going after 8 o' clock to the field, you will have to freeze. Okay? This is the idea going to implement in the field. Because this is only possible in one day. Before today evening, I can implement. I can get feedback from the customer as a testimony. That is your goal. That is your only objective. Rest. If you are skipping certain process, no problem. Sometimes if you are skipping the testing, it's okay, no problem. But the point is, if you try to do it really quickly, all this process, the 7, 8, 9, 10, it would be a complete work which will be done for your project.
Okay, cool.
So this is. This should be your objective. So what should we do exactly? So this is to refine and validate a design solution through real world testing. Okay. So prepare a tested prototype. Yesterday I also showed you like how people have made the prototypes in the last project what they did. But you guys have got a little more time as well. Okay. So you guys can test it out and gather more testimonies and document a professional case study. That is what we majorly want.
Okay.
And don't worry about this documentation. Also I'll give you certain prompts which you can do. Able to do it in just minutes.
Okay.
But mainly focus on implementing the solution. That's what I want. First let's see the concept.
Okay.
So first of all, creating a representation of the solution for real time testing, you need to create a prototype.
Okay.
So like let's say if you are creating a name board or what project you have taken Anju actually for this what let's understand from our team. Subhash, you have taken that Daptis project, right? You wanted to provide a solution. Are you here? Yes.
Yes, I am here.
Yes. Yes. Can you just give me a small glimpse of what you're trying to do in the prototype? What is your plan?
Yeah, just a second. Actually, I'm going to give you a.
Chart based as we told you, right?
Okay. Okay.
Short and it will giving the basic introduction of how we handle with care and some what. How often to change the syringes in the basic introduction. And after that if the fasting period. If the glucose. When we check the sugar in glucometer it is in a 150. 150 sugar. So we should take according to that you need. You need to take the 15mg insulin. So related to the chart I'll give you. So. And I'll also create a table for filling the filling the added doses.
To showcase. To show.
To showcase. One second.
Yeah, I can understand what you're trying to say. To showcase how much people. How much quantity they have to take for each meal. How much insulin you are going to give it as a representational information, right? Either in distant format or physical. Okay. So what you can do a tangible representation Subhash is listen to me. See, I'm taking example of Subhash. But since he has a little bit reached to the close to solutions phase.
Okay.
So you can take one chart paper first of all.
Okay.
You can try to write it down. What are the solution you're trying to offer? Don't try to build digital solutions. If you can build, that is okay. It's up to you.
Okay.
Try to bring one chart. So you can recommend four categories. Like let's say four or five categories. What amount of food people are taking, what insulin quantity they want to give. What are the recommendation?
Okay.
You can also get some small vial bottle.
Okay?
The doctors use this syringe, you know, they used to take one. Have you seen the penicillin? You can get it from the local medical shop. Any. Any representational purpose only.
Okay?
Any normal vial you can get it for 50100 rupees. Get it. And try to take one new syringe also, okay? Like an injection and don't use it. Okay? And then try to get the insulin syringe empty. It'll be 1015 rupees only. So you can totally. You can get it in 100, 200 rupees. All these products.
Okay?
Do it. And then ask them to shoot a video like let's say hi, this is my project. I'm recommending people to use insulin with this. This chart shows you exactly what calories, what insulin and what recommendation, how much shots to take. And this is the exact shot. So this syringe is actually a quantity which is showing 15ml 20ml. So people while they're taking this syringe they can able to only take 15ml. So they have to use this chart and they have to take the insulin and they have to put it in their body. This is how it should is done. And we have also created a mobile app which can able to exactly recommend this chart in a digital format. And this is the first page of this chart. And second, this is going to suggest you. And third, based on the profile customization of the person this chart is going to. This application is going to suggest him. 15ml insulin. You have to take before 10pm for this food intake what you took. This is my final solution. See, in one minute you'll have to present it.
Okay.
And you have to show to the people whoever is the required stakeholder for this and ask them to use it. Ask them to see the chart. Is it understandable? Is your requirement fulfilled? Sister, this is what you asked me, right? Is it okay? You need something else? Refine it. Hey no. I need my data also here. I need little personalization here. What if I don't eat sometimes? What if I eat more in festival days? How the insulin levels will fluctuate. Can you give me that data? So you have to patiently ask what is the feedback? Define it and then make the prototype solid. Super. And document this and get a testimony. That's it. Your project is done.
Cool.
Yes.
Yes. I just took an example of Subash. But everybody has their own way of project, right? The Stre Balaji. Sri Balaji of starting it today. Right, I understand. But try to complete it. You find a problem, go to field, ask Sol, ask people what are the problems and try to ideate quickly and fix it. See, it could be any small problem or any big problem. I don't care. But you will have to fix that problem and come back home. We are not students anymore. We are professionals. So we have to solve the problem instead of telling. Proposal, proposal, proposal.
Okay.
So create a tangible representation of solution for real time testing. Use available tools and materials to build the basic prototype case. I already told you. I told you. Pencil, paper, whatever is available with you in your vicinity. Try to get it and do it. Don't tell that I need to order this in Amazon. This will come after three days and this is not the time. Whatever is the resources you, you have to do it. Ensure it address the key aspect of the identified problem. Don't deviate this part. Very important difficulty in monitoring elderly patients health remotely. Let's say this could be a problem. How can you provide a solution? A wearable device prototype providing real time updates for caregivers. Excellent, right? See, you can just take one watch. You can put your paper cut with the digital interface or whatever you have designed. And then you can paste it on top of it. And. And then you can show a small mockup of the watch. See, this is a wearable which our older, elder, elderly people will do. And once their health is monitored automatically the caregiver will be notified with a, with a ventilator device or with some device which can pop up which can produce the reading that this heartbeat is going low for this elderly patient. His pressure level is coming down. So that vitals will be tracked by our wearable device. Our wearable device can be in the neck also. Our wearable device can be in the watch leg also. What if the person doesn't have hands disability person. We can have something like in the shoulders. We can have something like in the hip. Any vital regions where this pulse could be tracked, we are going to keep that. See. So you have to think how your prototype idea should come.
Okay?
And don't hesitate, don't feel what you call overwhelmed. Just try to do whatever is possible at your end.
Okay?
I'm just giving you a small example. Rapid prototype reduces time to market by 30%. That is why it is very, very vital to test it out your prototypes fast. Stanford Design Lab has said that. I really like this prototype part, guys, because have you seen my photo thermocol? It's all made in the thermocol I showed you. One photo, right? A picture like how it took me two hours to create that. That's it. That is a six months, that's a one year project. What I did. Okay, leave that for me, two hours. Making prototype is easy, but if I have to build it physically, it will take one week. For me, two hours is like good, right? I have to show some representation for the management to show. This is what I'm thinking. They said, okay, good. So make it small, make it big, some feedback will come, they have to refine it and then we'll have to move forward. Okay, 85% of the user engage with better visual prototypes. See, if you show something visually, good people will engage visually and they'll give you a real time feedback.
Okay?
You can use Figma for digital wireframes. You can use SketchUp. If you're using 3D model, you can use Canva mockups. That's easy. That's very simple. If you go to Canva, there are many mockups available. Guys, put your screens inside it. It will show like a watch, it will show like a mobile app, it will show like a website screen or whatever. Even if you're not able to do, that's okay. Just give one screenshot of what you're trying to say. Okay, for me, that's enough. Basically you will have to communicate what you're trying to say. Okay, so now let's go into the ChatGPT prompt which will help you how we can able to get some suggestions and tools and technique to quickly iterate. Give me a step by step guide on how to create a prototype. If you're completely stuck, you can this prompt, guys. Okay, what feature should I prioritize? See, if you use all the prompts which I gave you yesterday and today, automatically you will be able to construct an excellent case study. And you can use Gamma tool to directly import it as a PPT and create it. That's it. Or you can even use Canva. Or you can even use. You can copy paste that file and put it into a word file and also create a case study. That's it. It's as simple as possible. Put your pictures and videos wherever is required. Boom. That's it. So it is actually a 5 minutes job presentation and documentation. We'll do it in the evening, in the night. But today your focus should be to complete the prototype tested out with the user. Okay, the next is field testing. So what is testing? First of all, you'll have to validate what are the intended use what we're trying to take.
Okay?
So return to the field today. I would highly, highly recommend you to do that. Gather feedback from the people nitrate. I already told you, do it little fast. Okay? Sometimes you'll have to iterate it. Students forgetting assembly assignment deadlines. A digital planner prototype. Increased adherence by 40 percentage example. See, your solution should be something like measurable. It's not like you're. You're saying I'm providing insulin solution. You have to tell me Subhash. Like how it is better than the market. How it is better than the existing problem. How your customer is happy with this. So you can say something like my sister before she used to have confusion while choosing the dosage. And many times it leads to wrong error. Now, after introducing this prototype, she is able to recognize it twice faster. And if she starts using it for five days or one week, she can even get her sugar levels reduced up to 30%. This is a typical breakthrough in her what you call in her medical case record so far. So I'm going to use this prototype product to test it with at least 20 diabetic people in the coming days. And I'm going to track all of their results. If everybody is able to come up with good results. Reduction in insulin. This product is going to be a massive success. See, the moment when you bring numbers you are in, your project will become more interesting. There is a mission called Metrics Mastery. It's in the mission seven.
Okay.
It will come in the December. Don't worry. I'll teach you how you can track metrics for your project.
Okay?
For. For being a product designer. I'll slowly take you guys there, okay? But for now, just try to understand. Like let's say whatever she says, you can ask her how it is better than the earlier one. How much steps it is reduced. 5 steps it is reduced compared to 10 steps. That means it's 2x faster. 10 divided by 5, right? You got it right. So this is how you calculate the speed, time, number of step reduction. And then you say it is better. How people are telling our app is better than this app. Some metric needs to be there, right? See, you need a. You need a tall guy to tell that this guy is short. Hey, this guy is short. How with respect to tall guy. Maybe another tall guy is coming and in front of him. Then this guy becomes shorter and you become taller, right? So you need some comparison to tell what you have did. That is what is really important in terms of metrics. 70% successful projects involve iterative testing. Interactive Design Foundation. It's a good material, guys. You can go and read some blog articles. It's a very nice material. I've seen this. They have many case studies also presented. Field testing improves user Satisfaction scores by 25%. That's why I'm asking you to do it. I'll give you this chatgpt prompts. Don't worry. Okay, I'll copy paste for you guys. Don't worry. Okay, Next is recording testimonies. Most most important part. Guys, listen very carefully. Whatever you did, try to document the impact. That's most important. What did you create the kind of impact? What is really happening with the customer is what you have to record. Don't ask them to tell stories. Tell them. Hi sir. Introduce yourself. You ask the question. Because when you ask question, he'll be in control. Sir, can you tell about the experience what you had interacted with me in these last two days? Sir, you tell me what are the problem before you had. Sir, what is the solution? What we have offered is how it is better than the earlier one and how you are feeling comfortable now. Thank you sir. Ask this question. Close the interview. If you allow them to start talking, they'll start talking stories and all. We don't want that. We want only before, after, before, after introduction. Who is that person? What problem before, what solution after. Thank you. Close two minutes. Your testimony should be done. This is what Shantiral also did last time. When he has. When he has. When he has did the research this guy did. Exactly. He talked to that police guy, got the testimony. That's it. Okay, so be very careful in doing that. Don't get lost. Request video or written testimony from stakeholders whose solution highlight the key benefits and the improvement metrics. Lack of accessible workout routines for beginners. Beginner friendly fitness app reduced gym dropout rate by 35%. Let's say a fitness trainer is telling you this then that is actually superb, right? If a fitness trainer tells that your application has bring brought down the dropout rate by 35%. That's a great success. You are increasing the subscription model of the gym 35 percentage. Dropout rate means what? Lot of customers are going to come and register for their gym and they are going to get profitable. Okay, so that's. You can even convert to revenues and also say they have increased their revenues to 2 lakh rupees per month by just using this fitness based application which reduce the dropout rates. See, it's very simple, right? 90% hiring managers value stakeholder validation in portfolios. In fact this is for all the case studies. Guys, even if you're a MBA student. Even if you're a non design student, still people expect this. Imagine if you are a design student. It is very vital who is your stakeholder and validation. What did they. How did they approve your project? That is why I always try to tell. If you are working in any real time project, kindly project that with your client, whoever is there. Because that will have a higher weightage in your portfolios.
Okay?
If you have not done it, do it now. Two days is a great opportunity for you. Make it a real time project. Showcase pictures, videos, testimony and people will really believe that you did a project. That's a great benefit, right? If you're an absolute beginner, this is a great opportunity for you. Oh sorry guys. Just a second. I will have to change the timing details. Okay, Go and mark your attendance also guys. You guys are going to get points for that as well.
Okay?
Yes. Don't worry. I'll give you this.
Okay.
Testimonies improve project credibility by 50 percentage. Look at this. Amazing statistics, right? UX Collective. See guys, the reason why I'm projecting you the statistics is please do it. That's what I'm saying. Leave the statistics. You will have to do it. If the steps is being discussed, you will have to actually do it.
Okay.
Documentation part. Don't worry. This part is really simple. Compile the entire journey into a professional case study showcasing the project unique problem statement. Your research. Finding your visuals, your photographs, your screenshot, your case studies and make sure it is engaging. So let's say confusion. Navigating an E Commerce app. Redesigning navigation flow. Improved conversion rate by 20%. So your entire case study should show that how you have improved that to 20%. Your case study should be built in a story how you solve that problem.
Okay.
So don't worry. That prompt, what I've designed is also like that way it will help you to build that story. Exactly.
Okay.
So visual case studies increase the engagement by 70%. Content Marketing Institute said that well documented projects are 3x more likely to impress recruiters. Career builder. What else guys? So that is why you guys are failing a lot. Previously you used to apply case studies with a lot of industries, right? Why you have failed because you have not taken care of all these things in a project, in a case study, in a documentation way. This is what one project if you do also let it be small or big. Nobody knows. People only want what process you carried out and what you brought. Can you tell that clearly that's what people want. Like that much is totally, totally enough to build an excellent project. Okay, so now I'm going to tell you the last tip which is sharing the case study, very important part. Guys, please listen, okay? Because today evening we are not having a class, so you guys have to follow this. Once you complete your project, take a video or a snap or a reel or anything and upload it in your professional platform serviceability.
Okay?
You can share it in your in our groups first. I would highly recommend you to do that once. If you're able to do it, kindly post it in LinkedIn. This is highly, highly recommended. LinkedIn is a very professional platform.
Okay?
If you wanted to publish in Instagram, you can do it. You wanted to publish in Facebook, you can do it. If you wanted to publish in your WhatsApp status, do it. If you wanted to write a blog article, do it. Just copy your entire case study. Once you completed it, put a chat, put it into chat GPT and set the context for how you wanted to write the block. Make the block simple, easy, readable, like a story. Focusing on the final solution. What I've got it will exactly give you a glimpse of how you can able to write it. From there you take it and start to write yourself and give a good caption, give a good attractive steps and a section to do it. You can read one of my blog. I would have each and every blog. I will not write like a paragraph. I'll split it like a points, I'll tell it to like a story. I'll make it like a conversion conversational style so that people who are reading that blog has to read that till the end. So you can publish whatever media you want. It's up to you.
Okay?
Even you can record as a podcast, no problem. Just open Spotify free account, put your headset, start talking for few minutes about your project. If you want to record a video, you can do it in Instagram reels and all. You can use a software called VEED IO. It's a very interesting tool. It's a free account. You can create VEED IO, okay? You can use. You can use Canva video also. It's very simple tool.
Okay?
You can do PowerPoint video also. Guys, how many of you don't know this? In Microsoft PowerPoint there is option to record video along with your screen. That's it. Record. It's okay, no problem.
Okay.
And in Miro there is an option called what is that? In mirror there is an option to record your video. I don't know the function of it. I forgot the name of it. It's inside the mirror.
Okay.
How many of you don't know this? Try to use inside the mirror. There is an option to record your video. Yeah. You can just take a snap of your project. Start recording. That's it. Explain. Hi, I'm Jayanandini. I took the project of this one. I researched it about this much about the problem. Then I talked to the stakeholder to understand. This is the problem where people are getting confused in the bus stand. So I went to the field. I did a prototype like this. I solved it in one day. And I implemented real time. And now people were able to navigate very easily. And I recorded a video how people are coming inside, watching the board and going to the bus stand. See, this is a video what I took in the field. And now people were hassle free experience in the bus stand. So if this solution is implemented continuously for one month, lot of time for the people will be saved. Hundreds of people will be guided properly. This is the solution. Being a product designer, I thought having a proper clear navigation is very important for people to understand. So I applied the principle of recognition rather than recall to really solve this problem. And I created visuals and I solved this. Thank you so much. And some of the testimonies which I got from the field who have used this navigation to clearly understood. Listen to this. Put their voice. Thank you. That's it. You will have to create it. If you wanted an impactful project, you will have to create a very good video. Finally.
Okay.
You choose any medium, whatever is comfortable to you.
Okay.
But you'll have to do it. Present your case studies during the call for peer feedback. That's okay. Upload a case study in LinkedIn Behance. Include a video testimony. This is most most important.
Okay.
If somebody is not willing to share video, ask them to write a WhatsApp message.
Okay.
Or email. We just need that screenshot. That's it.
Okay.
Lack of accessibility in public transportation apps Redesign interface with voice command for visually impaired users. I'm just giving you example. So LinkedIn post with case studies get 60% more engagement. How many of you don't know this? Have you seen my post? Every post. What I used to give with only case studies and information and example. If you're not bringing case studies will not be attractive for sure. Portfolios featuring real world project increases hiring chance by 80%. AIGA survey said that. And this is the prompts, guys.
Okay.
So mainly you'll have to understand that the benefits of this short sprint. See, it improves your cognitive enhancement. Your creativity will go crazy. Guys. When you Do a project like this, you may also think like Raj. You're giving only two days time and it's very short already one day is gone. How do I do it? This is how you learn really fast, guys. See, researchers have shown that time bound activities activate your prefrontal context, improves your focus and decision making. Short cycle projects boost dopamine levels and enhance motivation. If it's a two years project, you will not feel that motivated. Can you, can you feel that? If it's given two months of time, you will not feel enough motivated. If it's given this very short span of time, you will know how to hit the final project within that timeline. Timeline is definitely needed. Yesterday we watched a case study. Have you listened to that guy David Kelly? Every single month. They used to deliver 90 projects. They are the best product design studio in the world. How many of you know it's there in Bangalore? IDEO Design studio. You know how how much Ideo pays you for a for a fresher 30lpa3 0 or a fresher. I think the last time when I listened it was 20 LP or something. But recently it has increased for the fresher they pay. Crazy. And people who are in the fresher in Tamil Nadu and in Bangalore and all these people are getting 25,000 per month or 30,000 per month. There is a huge difference. Right? So that's why you have to. You need to understand these people are following this method. If you really wanted to go to that places to really experience a world class design culture, we will have to elevate ourselves. Because our quality of our work determines the quality where we go.
Okay.
So try to use that as a limiting factor. Before today evening to complete the project, you have eight full hours. Eight to 10 hours is there. After 7 o' clock, if you have your breakfast, you are available till night. Seven o', clock, right? Eight o', clock, 12 hours is there. If you need any support, you can call me. I'll help you. Not a problem.
Okay.
If you have any issues in guys, first of all I would recommend you to go to our podcast channel and put that keywords. If you don't know how to do field study, there is a podcast I've recorded exclusively for that. It will exactly guide you. You don't know how to ask questions, you can go to podcast and listen on top of it. If you're having doubts, come to me. I'll help you. I'm here to help you only, right? Ask and you will be getting a clarity. Real world problem solving activates your mode Network for innovative ideas. Rapid ideation reduces overthinking. How many of you are getting familiarized with this? Many people overthink, right? Whether it will work, whether it will not work. You will have to do rapid prototype. There will be a stage which I will be telling you. I will be teaching you how we can do a rapid prototyping.
Okay?
It will give you a sort of confidence to go ahead. So designers engaging in a short intensive projects are 40% improved in their creativity boost. Harvard Design Lab has said that mind blowing, right? You guys are already in that 40 percentage. 80% of the sprint participants feel more confident tackling real world problem study by Stanford. So that is the reason I'm asking you. I've also referred this places, okay? That is why we have given this project. Why do I think I've recorded a project to be done in one day? Have you seen in Power of One? One day, one project. I asked you to do that. I've given you the formula. Also I've recorded a podcast also. One day, one project and two days, one project. This is how you do it. Even if you take three months, six months effort, you will not bring this kind of an attention to details.
Okay?
So this is the point final objective. Make sure you execute the real world project and complete it.
Okay?
So now I'm going to invite you guys for the upcoming webinar which is going to happen on next Sunday.
Okay?
So please invite to your friends as well, whoever is interested. Maybe for. For you guys it is not needed.
Okay?
Tell your friends, whoever is interested in this kind of activities, maybe they can able to come for this webinar, okay? For you guys, we'll try to get it free for you. But this one is 99 rupees.
Okay?
And also I'll also paste our podcast channel link. If you guys wanted to listen to any of our podcast, you can listen to here.
Okay?
Whatever podcast you want, you can just type the keyword guys, you will be.
Able to get it, okay?
Yes. So make a use of it and also forward to your friends, whoever is interested. Because the registration have started for the next week webinar. I thought of telling you yesterday, I totally forgot it. And I've also pasted the podcast link also.
Okay?
So kindly do it. And one more thing, what I wanted to tell you is I have to give you the prompts, right? Just hold on and meanwhile, please ask your questions. Whatever is your practical difficulties you guys are facing in the today's work and what challenges you are forecasting, please go ahead and tell Me? I'll be able to give you some clarity on that.
Okay.
Yes, go ahead. Yes. Guys. Subhash. Anju. Any doubts? Is there like you wanted some clarity? Like, how are you going to plan to complete your prototype today? Tell me. Yes.
Before that, I need your wix to.
The website for inspiration to. How you. Nothing inspiration here. It's my college days. I created that. Anything is fine. I can share with you. But the thing is, certain things are not really good aligned. Properly put. But anyway you can have it.
Okay.
I'm sharing it with you. Don't copy, don't take D. Don't try to what you call shut off your creativity by following this. That's why I don't send to people while they ask some of my works.
Okay.
Anyway, I forward it to you. Take that.
Okay.
Yeah. So I'm just preparing the prompt. Guys. Anything else you guys wanted to ask me? Doubts? Hello? Yeah, go ahead.
Am I audible?
Yes. Yes, you're audible. Go ahead.
What if I took some ideas that can't be solved by some? Like that should be implemented by government only. Like improving user experience of first transportation or.
No.
For now focus on a small problem. For now focus on small problem. Because we needed some completion today. You can do it tomorrow or next week completely. That other project, whatever you're taking later.
Okay.
But for now, focus only on before today evening.
Okay?
Because we needed a tangible project to be done. Got it. Choose a small problem. See, that's why yesterday if you have come to the call and told your problem, I would have told you how we can able to implement it shortly. It's fine. Now what you can take is. Before evening comes, you'll have to implement this solution. And get some testimony from the customers. Simple. From the people, whoever you're interviewing. So choose a very small problem accordingly and try to solve it. It could be anything. Don't worry.
Okay.
What's your problem? You tell me the problem statement, what you're choosing. So that I can.
For few first few days. I'm traveling in first class.
First few days.
But the traveling experience is I am traveling on the first class local train.
Okay.
Since it's a normal commandment, flooded with the crowd, commute with first class. But our experiences was the normal compartment.
Okay? Okay.
Most of the people boarded on first class are actually not the first class.
That's a great problem. So what you wanted to do, you tell me.
They also.
Also.
I spoken with one person traveling with me yesterday.
Ah.
What are the problems he's facing? I took some suggestions and points from him.
Ah.
I just want to improve the experience for the first class users.
You want to increase the experience for the first class. What I would tell you is. What I would ask you is tell me what you're trying to solve. It's not clear yet. You wanted to avoid the people who are going to onboard to the first class. Or you wanted to tell your custom. Your. What do you call your. Your first class passengers by enhancing some features. Or what is your exact objective? Tell me that your objective is still not clear for me.
Most of the people traveling in the first class think that their money is not working or they paid for okay. Experiences very bad.
Okay. Good.
So you wanted to enhance the user experience for the people who are traveling in the first class. Am I right?
Yes.
Fine. So for that first what was your objective? Like what is your criteria which you think which can enhance this activities? What is your thought process where you can impact this user experience? Can you give me some thought what you had in mind?
Yeah. I noticed only two compartments. One friend and then the end of the train. There is only two compartments available for first class.
Okay.
When I enter to the station, if the train appears suddenly then I can't go to any first class compartments.
Okay. Okay.
So that yesterday that my four persons also suggested that it will be so useful. So if we add more compartments. More first class compartments, more first class.
Okay.
See, creating more first class compartments is not going to be a solution which is going to happen before today evening.
Okay.
So you can try to think something else. That's okay. Suggestions we can give. But now we wanted a tangible solution to be implemented.
Okay.
Okay. What else you are thinking? Tell me. This is one way to increase your thing. Increasing more compartment. What else you can give? Tell me how you can increase the experience. How you can make the people feel that this is worth paying for that money. Tell me to think like a product. Just think like a product designer.
Okay.
Tell me.
I'm just doing a research on that. I am not jumping to the solution part here.
No, I'm. I'm just asking you. So ideation is also not the part. I'm asking you what you can improve. I'm asking how is completely second ideation comes little later. But what is you. Like you said. You said you wanted to increase the space by increasing compartment. That's also one way to experience. Make the user experience go second. What will you do? Will you add any music or infotainment system? Or will you give any extra air conditioning or something? Or will you create any kind of doors which is going to be shut once the train is started on. See, you can think and give any solution so that if that door is there then people will not onboard unnecessarily. It will only open when station comes up. So like a metro station. However you got. So you have to tell me Manigan, like what you wanted to really solve in this particular short span of time. Because we got only few hours, right? Eight to ten hours we got. So we'll have to complete this activity before we rest for the day. Are you getting. And you can also think about like how these people can able to. What you call like let's say if you're. If you're talking about first class experience in train. You can also read some of the articles in the online. How the experience of the train is created in abroad countries. How people were able to what you call provide the services. I've seen in Germany and Netherlands and all the experience while traveling in the train. It's like stunning. People used to. What you call people used to have a very crazy seating environment. Like let's say I've seen some of the trains in Netherland. The seating capacity is like three people can sit in one person seat. That much of seating capacity they have provided. They have created a chair which is like super thick. You will never feel like the train is moving at all. The train runs at 280 km per hour. Close to 300 km per hour. It was from Germany to Netherland. When I went, it was only a two seat. And there is one two seat another here.
Okay.
The width of the train itself is really high. So that is like a first class experience. We can't implement that kind of an infrastructure. But we can say like I have created a small prototype of a chair in a first class compartment. This is how people can get seated. This is how he can able to keep his luggage. Maybe you can create a small cardboard. You can cut it and you can create a small prototype and you can show this is how it works. Maybe you can create a small infotainment system for the first class compartment people where one LED monitor will be there. It will show you what are the next station, what are the timing and how many people have onboarded in this train. And you can have the basic emergency phone number. One small LED display can be there. Or you can make one small LED poster also and paste there. Like let's say if it's from one destination to other, from point A to point B, you can draw that number of stations.
Okay.
In a paper mock Up. And then you can paste it over there. And you can also show to the Indian railways that sir, this information is missing. So we can have one small monitor there. Hardly. It cost 10,000 rupees. So why don't you invest? I have a small mock up and an idea. This can be implemented in Indian railway system. I have created one small digital interface mock up I have created on chartwork. You can see if this is there in the first class commandment. Then the people will be really comfortable. You can tell that maybe they can bring a solution. Or maybe they can give you feedback saying hey, hi Manikindan. This solution is really good. Maybe the station master can tell that. So first go to the field Manegandra and get the reality. And when you ask these questions to the first class passengers they will give you a lot of feedbacks. What. What you want in first class? You ask them. No. They'll give you 100 points. You go to the station master. You can tell what you think. In first class. We can give. How do you think these people can be avoided while onboarding unnecessarily in the second class from first class. That's all. Your field will determine what you wanted to do.
Okay, good.
Good that you are asking questions. But I wanted you to complete this project fast. With whatever solution you can able to implement it really quick.
Okay, good.
So wait guys. I'm going to share you one very very important factor now.
Okay.
Chat GPT prompt. Listen to me. Listen to me. This is going to be the ultimate game changer for you.
Okay?
So I'm going to give you prompts in a way. You just have to copy paste it in your case studies and automatically this will become an excellent project, guys. Okay, yesterday I gave you certain prompts. But now I'm giving you the exact prompts for the remaining missions as well. Just wait for a second. Was it useful? Guys, yesterday, whatever I shared you did you use it? I think people are too busy in implementing the prototypes. But I would highly recommend you to do it today. Because if you are building your social media presence with this article or a case study or document, this is most important.
Okay.
Your document is ready.
It. Okay.
Yes. Just. Just hold on.
Guys. Let's it.
Okay, it's ready. So can you open that same link? Guys, yesterday, whatever I gave you, I hope it is available for you. Guys. Yeah, it should be available. Same. Same link. But anyway I'm pasting you again.
Okay.
It's available. Yes.
Guys.
Use these prompts to construct a complete case study for the two day Project whatever you have taken in order to document it properly in your social media platforms chat box. Look at this, guys. And I'm also going to hold in the group.
Okay, fine.
So any doubts is there? Guys, before we end for the day. Before we end for the day, please ask me now is the right time. Because then you will be feeling little left behind.
Okay.
If you're stuck somewhere, use that prompts. The reason why I gave you is you will have to not feel anywhere stuck. You have to use some AI also to get you some ideas to go forward. Sometimes if you're stuck each and every mission, just follow that. Sometimes if you have skipped certain missions also no problem. Just use that prompt to generate some ideas and document it. But real time, you can put that time was not there. We were not able to do that. But we have directly jumped to the prototype. We solve the problem. That's it. Very simple.
Okay.
But completion. Always focus on completion. If you're not focusing on completion, you will not do anything in your projects. It will be keep piling only. You will never reach to the point of job application.
Okay, fine.
Guys, can we wrap up for the day? Any. Any. Any doubts? Clarifications? Okay, have a great day. Bye. Bye. And reach out to me for any doubts. I'll be more than happy to help you.
Okay, bye. Yeah.
