Day 95- Harmony & Rhythm Aesthetics Composition D3 100 Days 100 Skill Booster Sessions

Jagdish P leads a design session on harmony and rhythm in composition, using nature-inspired examples like honeybees to explore how aesthetics and functionality balance. The discussion covers design history and philosophy through interactive exploration of conscious observation and practice.
It's getting little time. Hold on guys.
Okay.
Because I have to spread this as well.
Okay. Yeah.
I'm just putting out in our old. This design verse group as well. So that if some of them is interested to join in the evening.
Okay.
They can take an advantage. Let me put the. Let me put the.
How do I say this? Shout out. Something is off.
Just give me one second guys.
Okay.
I'm not able to find the exact.
Group but anyway, okay.
Because many people have messaged me personally saying they wanted to connect here. Okay, fine. So just confirm me one thing. That is my voice audible and my video is good because I'm in a different zone. Actually you guys have to confirm me. Fine.
Yeah, everything is fine. Yes.
Welcome to this day 95 guys. Very, very unusual to have it in the evening, right?
Yes.
So it's a once in a blue moon. So please consider this as a gift from our side. Okay, let's now come to this particular topic called. We have. We have been learning aesthetics from this week. Right? We've been learning from the Sunday. Thank you, Ramraj. Yeah, we've been learning from. For the aesthetics. And finally you should know how this entire skills what you guys are having has to be shown to the exterior world through only this aesthetics.
Okay?
So this is very, very important. Equally to that again it should not outweigh your skill set. It should not downgrade your other things as well. It should be in a balanced way.
Okay?
So that's what I wanted to tell you before going into this aesthetics. And if you wanted to break this aesthetics, there are two to two to three ways to break down this.
Okay.
So one is learning the loss. Like let's say the gestalt law of psychology. We've been covered in the last day 50 to 60. I think we have covered all the loss. So that is some of the primitive psychological loss. Like let's say how people the perception will change and when they view a particular component, like let's say when they view a particular image. How do our mind and eyes really work in synchronous to say that this is good, this is not good and everything. Right? So another aspect to break down this aesthetics is to learn rasa theories, the emotions. We have also covered three sessions on that. In fact these are like very, very vital topic which people don't talk about much. But we have covered all these topics. You guys can take about the different personalities what we've covered and you guys can understand how to design for the personalities. Like let's say if your personality is Most like, let's say playful, creative for those audience. If you're designing an application or the physical product or anything in that more playfulness, then they will get attracted a lot. Then they will get more synchronous with that. Okay, so you'll have to find out your Persona. What is the personality are they having and what are the emotions are they evoking? And then based on that you design. We have already covered that. That's the second part of aesthetics and the third part of aesthetics. And the most most important part is composition. What is composition? When we see a particular image like how do we really construct the elements? Okay, how do we construct the elements in order to make it aesthetically attractive, beautiful, so called. Everybody is really getting big problem in how to construct my screens. Really beautiful. How to design a product which looks beautiful. Like let's say if I'm designing this water bottle, how do I make it really beautiful? That's the. That's the one question which every designer asks. Either they go to the design college or they learn from their own. The very first question what they inherently ask. How do I make it attractive to what you call to. To make the others say that hey, this is attractive. So that's one question that everybody has. Who, who doesn't have that? Whether it's functionally workable or not, whether that application is going to run smoothly or not. That we are not much worried. We are worried about the exterior part of it. I'll tell you why aesthetic is very important. Have you seen Honeybees? How many of you know about the Honeybee story? Tell me what Honeybee does. Please switch on your camera, guys. Everybody, I'll explain your aesthetics. Honey.
Okay?
You will never forget in your life. With this example, I want every one of you to open your camera. Aishwarya Purva, Yukta Tilagar, Sri Balaji, Shantilal Jain and Srinivas Giridar. Go ahead guys. Go ahead. Go ahead. This is very, very interactive session. Because aesthetics cannot be taught in a classroom way. It can only be explored while discussing. Okay, tell me. What do you know about Honeybee? Two minutes, Jagdisha.
Oh, okay, fine.
I thought you are answering.
Okay, great.
Fine.
Fast.
Any quick example?
Okay.
What does honey. The only thing that comes into mind is not related to Honeybee. But this was when I was studying design theory and all of that. So there is something to do with Fibonacci series, right? Everything in the world is designed in one certain pattern kind of a thing. So I don't know. I'M just, I'm just drawing parallels. But very good, very good. That's what you are remembering, you're saying.
Okay, yeah.
So I will tell you one interesting analogy, guys, okay? I'll not waste time by asking you question because only one or two people are answering. I don't know, people has to fight in the mic to answer the question. But morning, okay? We are early morning. We are not able to do it now. It's evening, guys, come on. Okay, fine. Honeybees create honeycomb. Yes, Shaj, wonderful. Great. So I'll just tell about one small instance. Okay, so think about it. Honeybees, when they go and take the nectar from the Poland. Have you observed what it does? Okay, have you, have you observed what it does? It takes exactly the, his, its mechanism, whatever it has and then it takes out the pollen, okay? And then what it does? What it does? It goes and sits on the. Tell me, come on guys, did we learn the basics of science? Something, something we know about what we. This is not relating to design, huh?
Yes.
So what happens exactly there? Tell me, have you observed while honeybee takes something, the nectar or something from that? Have you observed something else which is the, the plant is actually like, let's say the plant is actually in nature. That's also a living being, right? Honeybee is also a living being, right? So what happens is honeybee goes and takes the nectar from this and the plant knowingly or unknowingly, that is next. Okay, but the plant does something like it puts it pollen on that particular honeybee's legs. Have you observed that? Because honeybee is not having a, a test tube to exactly what you call pipet it out the pollen and everything. So it does by something like this. So what happens here? One or the other way the honeybee digs into that particular nectar and then he, it goes, it goes, it goes and it find out which flower is really attractive, which flower is the most suitable food which I need for me, okay? Which colonization. If I build on top of the mountains, my honeycomb will be very, very stable and my honeybee will be good, okay? It will go and find out the, which, which best flower top flower, high test flower as well as the most, what you call highly reproducible, right? We reproduce sexually, but plant reproduce asexually, right? So it find out and then it understands, okay, this is exactly what I want as a food. Then let me go and take the nectar. Okay, so what does, what's happening when it takes the nectar one or the other way this, this body falls body has this pollen attached and it goes and sits on the other flower. What's happening guys? Can you tell how the asexual reproduction happens in the plants? I just told you one small part. Okay, can you now tell me the second part? How does the ace. I mean how does the reproduction happens in the flowers? Let's leave honeybee here. Let's come to the flower. I am a commerce student. This is not the answer.
The pollen grains from the female flower sits on the b. And then when he. When it sits on the female. No, sorry. Male flower, the fruit starts to.
Who's the farm?
Chitra.
Chitra. You can very well go to science. Hi. Excellent. Superb. So you studied like. Let's say everybody studied science. But yeah, you are more interested in animal watching and everything.
Kind of.
Kind of good. So that is a very keen observation, guys. To be honest, I've also got very keen after knowing this concept only before I was like knowing it. Little surface level. That's it. Okay, so what happens is. So the here who is the hero? Can you tell me whether the honeybee or the flower, who's the hero?
Inside the honeybee there is a female queen. We are calling it as a queen who is controlling all over the hive. And the female queen is commanding all the male and other bees to go and like search for the food and everything. So it is under the control of main be. And that is the queen.
That's the queen. Okay, so I'm asking. Okay, that's fine. That's the control of honeybee network. Okay, we'll talk about honeybee story in a even more interesting way in other session. But let's come to this session. So honeybee, is there flowers? Is there right? Flowers, Whatever. Who is really intelligent here? Can you tell me? That's not the answer.
How?
As soon as the stimulus. Like as soon as the response to the stimulus. Like as soon as something comes, it drops the pollen.
Okay.
The interaction with the b.
Okay, okay.
Says that it is like.
Okay.
How many of you know Albert Einstein? Okay, sorry, wrong question.
Okay.
How many of you remember what Albert Einstein said? He said if honeybees get extincted, okay. This entire world will. What happened? What will happen to the entire world? Did you guys remember what honeybee. What? Yes, exactly. The entire world will die. Entire world will extinct. The moment when honeybees are extinct, next five years our entire food ch. Food cycle will collapse. Can you guys tell me how can you guys connect the dots? So now I want answer.
Through the polish pollination. What you have is your. You know Whatever the fruits or whatever it is being developed, that is also been encouraged by this honeybee. And when see in the cross pollination things and all happens because of the be stinging with the thing. So if the entire honey bees are extinct, will not be having any fruits to eat. We'll not be having any, you know, any species to grow. So we depend on fruits indirectly or directly. We may develop some formulas. But then obviously we need to have.
58% of our food cycle collapses in just one year. If all the honeybees die, what happens to the 58%? And what happens to the remaining 42? It again collapses in another two, three years. That's it. Because there is a nature, there is a balance which is already available, okay? It's not honeybees who is smart. Honeybee is just a carrier, okay? The flowers are the smartest people here.
Okay?
So what flowers does particularly flowers in the sense nature. It's not only one flower.
Okay?
So nature sees what is really required in this tropical forest. Okay? Mangoes are required a lot in order to balance what is really required in this kind of a region.
Okay?
Bamboo trees are really required a lot, okay? What is really required in this season?
Okay?
Here water is not there. Let's bring some plant which can adopt in the driest situation and still grow. Plants are the smartest thinkers here. That's the nature.
Okay?
So plants thinks whom I can able to choose this in order to execute this job perfectly. Yes. Honeybees are the most intelligent beings. I mean, honeybees are the most. But you call mindless beings who does all these things? How should I attract this honeybee? I will have to create my flora the petals in a more beautiful way. In a more aesthetically attractive way.
Okay?
And I need to create very good fragrance, okay? Or else what happens? Another animal will eat away. Cow will come and eat, Goat will come and eat, right? It should be also strategically grown in the top. It should also be making a beautiful fragrance. It should also be wavering like that to show hey, I'm alive. Have you seen the flowers? You'll have to enjoy the nature. Then only you'll understand this.
Okay?
So when you start observing this keen thing, so the honeybee comes in automatically. What you call honeybee also goes along with this flower. And by the time this motion happens, it automatically takes the nectar goes into the other flower. And then the folant falls on the flower. And then cross pollination happens. This is how the entire forest grows. This is what has been happening for the last billions of years. The Functionality. What we talk is exactly called asexual reproduction, right? Napoleon is going and falling there how it is happening through honey. But the aesthetic part, imagine if it is not there. Imagine the flower doesn't really understand this particular nature's what you call. What do you call a requirement to transport its genes or possibly what we male and female get attracted to each other, right? Imagine if this attraction factor is not there, where would we be? We would not be reproducing at all, right? We would not be coming into this world or. Or. Or maybe we would have been in a different form of living. Billions of years of evolution would be in a different way, right? So same like that the nature knows, okay? In order to sustain this climate, in order to sustain this particular climatic situations, I will have to produce a flower like that. In order to produce a flower like that, I need more of a mating organisms like this, in order to do that will have to be attractive like this. In order to make this attractive, I will also have to add a fragrance like that. In order to also add the fragrance, Aesthetics, I need to also create a motion in a way. How many of you can understand aesthetics now? How many of you can understand figma motions and motion graphics now? How many, how many of you can understand colors now? Okay, so don't have a second thought Whether functionality or aesthetics, both are important, okay? Honeybee is also important. Flower is also important. Attraction is also important. The moment when you understand this, your design will be always balanced for your life. Getting it? Tell me Aishwarya, you want to tell something?
But I would say there is an irony in the nature also There is one flower which is the most attractive and it has the most fragrance flora. But it doesn't attract a bee. So bee doesn't come and sting in that flower. So you have exceptions in nature also that flower is called Sampigay in Canada or Russianbagam in Tamil.
And I don't know what is the thing that's interesting here. I don't know English. Okay, so that has a different formula. In order to attract that maybe some. Some honeybee colonization can evolve in order to attract that as well. But we. We never know, right? We always make the screens. But certain people don't like it, right? So maybe that kind of an eccentric people. Let's leave them.
That's what I was just telling.
Generally people who really it could be what Jagdish is saying also could be true here.
No?
Because you are raising that plant as a commercial product. The plant that evolved to know that human Beings are already pollinating it. Why do you need bees? Thank you Shashank. You continued the loop. Thank you so much. Because the nature is the. See, even the plant is not intelligent. Aishwarya, here the nature is intelligent. See, nature has an intelligence. How many of you know this infinite intelligence? It's called two, three weeks before we saw this infinite intelligence for stimulating your creativity and everything. So infinite intelligence also gets directly the knowledge from the nature. So nature knows which human being to keep. Which human being to kill. Which human being to put the disease and make them die. Which human beings to make them live for 100 plus years and evolve. Because it always knows whom to keep in this world. Whom to remove. Pandemic came for a reason, right? It's not like maybe somebody planted or I don't know what is the thing. But it happened. Nature wants it to happen. See, 1945, the World War happened, right? It was a very, very interesting story. I got to know in 1945 when I was in Auschwitz. I went to a. No, no, no. I was in a war museum in Germany, okay? It was the second highest people died there. First is Auschwitz, Germany, okay? I mean Australia, Austria. The second one is in Germany. So in that place they told In 1945 there was a huge amount of people dead. You know how much people died in the World War II? It's more than 6 to 8 crore or something. I mean it's very, very huge. Compared to the account what we talking about. What happened is male, female, everybody died, right? Everybody died. Everybody died. The point is the female ratio started dropping very, very high after that point of time. But in the next five, five years you will not believe the babies which were born is is mostly of females in that particular region. So nature is watching you. Hey, if I create too much of male then what will happen? Problem will happen, right? If I create too much of female, it's a problem will happen. The sex ratio is very, very important, right? So nature watches this and it subconsciously produces the selective. What you call selective breeding. Natural selection, selective breeding. How many of you know this?
Okay.
It's a theory of evolution.
Okay.
So that's what Charles Darwin says. That and what happened in the next five to ten years only female ratio is high. And then the balance happens. You do anything, guys, nature will tend to balance it. And nature knows how to make you guys also come into this field or how you also get attracted to this field. There is a psychological reason also. If this kind of a thought process guys come into this field then they will Spoil this field. Let us eliminate him. Let us not give him the job. Let us make him. No, it can also be true. I'm not sure, I can't guarantee. But nature is watching everybody. So functionality and aesthetics, we cannot fight it over.
Okay?
You guys are learning skills. You guys are learning the art of doing research, doing creative ideation, building solutions, making it functional, codable, usable. Everything is fine. But if you're not building aesthetics on top of it, your honeybee is not going to carry that part at all. Your honeybee is not going to be getting attracted at all. So aesthetic is damn, damn important. In fact, I went for a museum called Bohus in Germany, Desa. Okay, so it was one of the oldest design school in the, in the, in the world, I would say.
Okay.
I mean the, the, the design, what we are actually seeing now. So these people are saying design is not aesthetics, design is functionality. They're, they're having this kind of analogy.
Okay?
They also do aesthetics and everything. But I got super confused. What is this here? I paid so much of money and studied in NID and I came to know a lot of drawings, art, graphics. I've learned this much of software and these people are telling totally different. And the biggest point is these people only taught nidians in 1960 and 70s when they built the nid school of design Education. The learning by doing, right. How many of you felt in our program, I don't teach anything. We only learn by doing it. Have I consciously did anything in teaching? I'll make you do an activity, you make mistakes and then you learn. Design cannot be taught by a theoretical way. That's the Bauhaus way of teaching. That's what in 60s and 70s NID curriculum is also built that way. The faculties from Bauhas came here and did that. If something is taught first and then activity is given, then that's not really going to make your learning process faster. Then you will become one more school, college degree and all these things. Okay, so this is what is the method of teaching. So what happens is Bauhaus people, these people are building lot of design concepts and they have created this B laws and everything. And they have created this what you call Bauhaus movement. How many of you know this B movement was very, very famous. People in the architecture field will know make nice raising the hand. Okay, so these people not just constructed products, they also constructed hounds, aesthetics, everything. They, they, they derived something from the art musings and then they also created a beautiful aesthetics for them. They don't see this Aesthetics, functionality as two different things, as we are discussing now, they see everything as one. What is that? It has to be usable by people. Aesthetic should be a part of it. They're saying, why are you calling this as a aesthetic design? And then you're consciously putting efforts to learn for them. There is nothing called aesthetics. If you go and see Bauhas principles, arts, like let's say the paintings, the pictures, architecture, it will also look good. It's not like it will. It will be looking like a classical design. In 1950s again after the World war, there was very, very less resources available.
Okay?
People were not having enough money. Like countries like Russia, China, the communist countries were not having enough resources. And they are like a communist country. They spread everything for everybody. Right? It's unlike India. I mean, it's a democratic. That's a communism.
Okay?
So what happens is this Russian people, they have constructed the home for each and every people with only minimal things. Small room, a toilet, a wash basin, a basic stove, like that. So Bohas said it should be functional, it should be usable. And it's also at the same time, it's all aesthetically good and how it can able to serve for multiple people, thousands of people, lacs of people. If lacks of people started constructing their home on their own wish, how much resources will go, how much money will go, how much government will get into bankruptcy? So now the Russian government itself took a decision. They brought the B designers. You design architecture for our people. Nobody's going to question you. You do it. They designed the modular rows and I saw that modular houses also the real prototypes in the Baja's museum. Guys, if you, if you are really spending money to go for abroad and all these things, spend for this kind of educational thing, visit Scandinavian museums, visit ikea, don't visit this Bangalore and all, okay, you have to go to Sweden, ikea. It will, it will look like a village. They will have rooms. Actually, they will not just sell you table or chair. They will sell a room. You will be confused. What should I pick? What should I not pick? Whether it's kept for display or whether it's a room. You will be really confused. And like that hundred rooms will be there morning. If you go night only you will come. It's like a village. You will see the pure Scandinavian Bauhaus principles. There you go and you go and observe some of the 80s and 90s. Apple's, the Macintosh design. It's all derived from Bauhaus. Steve Jobs was very much inspired by this minimalism concept. That's why this guy have started doing all these things and then it also inspired in their design team. And if Steve Jobs was not there, I mean Steve Jobs were not there for the 10 years shitty products came out of the market. I mean I would say not shitty functionality. It is good. But aesthetically it's not even getting attracted. And what happened again Steve Jobs came into the industry and then again he started revamping it. The product portfolio. When you see I visited Apple museum as well. The evolution of products was there. It was exactly a gap which was there. So aesthetic has been an inevitable part of it. Now we know aesthetics in a 100 years nutshell. I've given you a context. The question is how are you going to improve it? History is okay. We can learn it. Even. Even when I don't tell you, you guys will go and learn. But how can you guys learn it? Tell me, have you taken any conscious efforts to learn it? Jagdish, I know a lot of options in this. Canva and Figma and Photoshop options is different. Aesthetics is different. Perfectly designed system. Charles Darwin.
Yes. Yes, sir. Okay, fine.
So what is the conscious efforts you guys have taken to learn aesthetics? Can you type in the chat box? I want every one of you to write this answer. Let me see. Have you guys how you guys have started initiating? Maybe I'm just giving you an example, Jagdish. I started sketching. Or maybe I started drawing, started doodling. I started using the software. I started using that. I went to many art museum. I. I observed many artists. I started understanding the painting. It's fine guys. Whatever. But can you tell me what did you do consciously till now to really build your aesthetic skills? I know the other skills. You guys are consciously putting efforts and learning one or the other way.
Okay.
But can everybody tell me? Only two people are typing. Implementing principles of design. Practicing sketching. Shivraj Aishwarya saying Rangoli observation. That's great. They'll practice. What practice there. That's what I'm asking. Did you practice painting? Learning design principles. Learning design principles.
Okay. Okay. Fine. Okay.
Symmetry.
Symmetry.
Guys, I'm asking about a practice.
Okay.
Thinking why my element should.
Why should?
Exactly. Arun. Arun is somewhat stretching the dimension of all the people. Now look at the Arun's answer. Thinking why that element should exist. Right? This is how you also think about aesthetic. See, I told you. Aesthetics. Everybody has a different answer.
Okay.
Even If I ask 1 billion people. 1 billion people will see in different perspective. Inspired and create.
Okay.
Observing nature and color combination. That's an Interesting way. Nature is the biggest. Biggest. What you call. That's the one shot we mean Nothing is beyond that, right? What else? What else? I want every one of you to write the answer ste like an artist. Hey, Nishit. That book cover.
Uhhuh.
You guys are reading book and learning aesthetics. Okay? That. That's why the results are not coming. Minimalism.
Okay. Okay.
What else? What else? See if you guys have not taken any conscious efforts. Type out no in the chat box. It's totally fine. Type n in the chat box. It's fine. Jagdish, I've not seriously concentrated on this so far.
No.
Nobody has taught me. Don't tell that. You will have to take responsibility and learn it.
Okay?
Nobody will come and teach you observation and practice.
Okay, good.
What about others? I want every. Only 10 answers have come, guys. Reminding how much 20 people are here. I want 20 answers. If you guys have not taken any action, please tell n not so that I can able to teach accordingly. See that the content comes based on the energy of the room. It doesn't come by some preparation. What I had.
Okay?
Yen.
Okay.
Know the root.
Okay. Okay.
How can we take small things from each product and implement in my life to improve myself? That's great. Interesting. Ar practically correct practice.
Okay? Okay.
Observe the interiors of my office. Aiti Wonderful. I really like that. Too much time you're spending an office. Get out. Get out of the office.
Okay, fine.
That's great. Okay, fine. You will not believe. Guys, I was in Germany for six months.
Okay?
Have anybody can tell me how many museums I visited?
Any.
Any rough guesses how many museums I visited? Can you tell me a count? 10. 35.
Okay.
Seven countries I visited.
Okay.
10 to 15.
Okay. More, more.
57. What is that? 57? 85 museums I visited. I visited Art museum. I visited War museum. I visited Apple Museum. I visited Car Museum. There is a. There is a city called Car Museum. It's in Wolsburg in Germany. I visited Chocolate Museum. I visited Wax Museum. I visited this Army Museum. I visited Sex Museum. Every damn thing is being documented in European style. Because they celebrate everything. They don't see it like a taboo subject or anything. They. They. Even if it's a small. Like let's say even if it's a small paper, that paper has some significance.
Okay?
They will keep it in that particular preservation with that particular chemicals and conditions and everything. And they'll write the story for it. And then I'll keep it. Railway Museum. You name anything, guys. World History Museum. There is a museum in everybody has to really visit that museum. If you guys are visiting one museum in the world, before you're dying, you'll have to visit that museum. You know, what is that? In Austria there is a museum called World History Museum. That took my entire life in a different trajectory. I started really exploring more and I've also started talking with many, many people. It's because of this one museum.
Okay.
And then I read the book called Sapiens. Sapiens and Homo are one of the amazing books which connected this entire dots as well. You will see the entire like let's say the Big Bang theory start and how the what you call evolution happened until the globalization in 1960, this entire snap. You can see that in that museum. It will take three days for you to visit the museum. I could cover 50 percentage in one day. Not even had food, water, anything standing full. I get seriously excited. I don't know where that energy comes from. But the point here is the best way to learn aesthetics is by exploring in my knowledge. I'm saying, but how many. There is nothing to spend for this museum here because I am a student there. You know, if you're traveling in European countries, you have something called. What do you call Ticket tomb. I don't know in German some word is there.
Okay.
If you show that particular card to the people, they'll give you free passes inside the museum. If it's a very expensive museum, you'll have to pay 10, 20% like a 2 Euro or something like that. It's very small and also 650km radius. We can travel in the train. All of the trains are bullet trains, speed trains. I we will go only to visit museum. Morning till night, only to visit museum. There is nothing you will explore more than absorbing and visiting all this museum. How did you get that card? My college game here I went into an exchange program. Every student. When you are visiting as a European, it would be best if you do as a student. You will get maximum benefits. Maximum benefits. But going as a personal tourist or anything, you'll have to spend lots of money for that.
Okay.
Even when you're going in high speed trains, you'll have to book a little early so that you get a very good prices as well.
Okay.
And most of the things that travel is free. So if you guys are visiting somewhere, I would say please visit where you can able to reinvent your thought process and and request in your entire belief system. Because we've been built with a lot of social layering, right? And I saw the German people's Portfolio. Super aesthetics. Wonderful aesthetics, okay? Wonderful aesthetics. Seriously, we can't even touch. They will, they will design a chair and they will talk about emotions of the chair where you will literally pay 1 crore rupees for the chair and buy it. That much of story they have built in. I got really fascinated by this Herman Miller chair, okay? That's why I've not bought any chair. Have you guys seen me using any fancy chairs? I've set a goal. I have to get this Herman Miller chair and I'm not getting it or else that's it.
Okay?
I'll get it soon. You guys will see it. So Herman Miller chair is very expensive. And also it has a crazy functionality. It's not just functionality, it's also aesthetics. It's also emotional. It's beyond all these things, okay? So some of the brands have really understood what touches the human and they're designing all these things comfortably, okay? So this particular brands has been originated from Germany. That's why when you go and visit these places, you will start seeing this artist. You will start seeing why they have practiced like that. But when I ask these people, knowing your portfolio is really looking good, they're like, it's normal. They don't even tell, it's okay, it's normal. I have a still lot of scope to improve. They will say, okay, I've been repeatedly seeing their portfolio, right? We as a designer will be what? What? Our mind will wander here and there. Oh, let me see this portfolio. Let me see that portfolio. Let me compare. Let me get bruised, let me get embraced. So that's the mindset what we have, right? That's not correct. Ideally speaking. That's why I tell all of my students, don't compare with any of the portfolio in the world, okay? Because I made that huge bloody mistake. And I saw all of their work even in their name boards, even in their, the, the, the. The billboards, the bus stand, railway station, everything. You can't see something is ugly at all. The way in which they have constructed, I don't know, like they inherently add that kind of an ability. Then I asked him, hey bro, you're having one port for you. Every portfolio has some shoe design. Every portfolio has chair design. Everybody same like how you guys are designing one food. That delivery app. Everybody will have, okay, Everybody will have on food landing page. What is it? Login page? I don't know. UI UX is not for that, okay? But this people also has that. I said to this guy, one guy was actually telling, hey Jagdish, your Portfolio needs this kind of an improvement. This that I said can you come to India? Once I asked him. You visit for India at least two months. You will never design chair or shoe and other things in your portfolio ever again. I'm telling you. Okay, we have much more bigger problems to solve here. See the way in which I took this. Water problem, transportation problem. All this problem is because people are dying here. People are not having enough things here. Okay, you guys are sorted with that. You guys are completely sorted with that. That's why you're thinking about emotional chair, beautifully aesthetical shoe. I don't know why. Okay, People are. People are not having even chapels to wear in our country and not roads and everything. So the cultural conditioning matters a lot in the day 80 also I talked about one design called experimental design. I shared some of the stories what there. So you guys have to understand. There is nothing called super aesthetics. Wonderful aesthetics. This, that and all the original aesthetics is going to come from your inside heart only. Whatever you as a personality, as a whole is there that is going to come out. Do not compare that. If you start comparing with other people, you will take a big circle to find out the real answer. After 5 years you will still find out there is nothing new. It's all coming from inside only. Don't waste that much of explorations and other things. I'm just setting this context very clearly. Because aesthetics, functionality, you should never get confused in your life at all. You should be very clear not to compare with anybody. You can get inspirations, you can watch many museums, you can go to places you can observe, you can read book, you can practice. And someday you will find something really hooking for you guys. You will have to do more of that. How many of you know scintillation paintings? There is one artist who did the drip painting. Sorry, Skin. Not skin. Delicious drip painting. How many of you have seen that documentary movie? There is one artist. Okay, I forgot this guy's name. I'll tell you this movie after this call. So this guy watch. He does it.
He.
He. He was making some art paintings and everything. He started making a living out of it. He has a family. He has a wife, kid, family, everything. Commitment is there all the time. What happened is art start diluting in the market. Nobody started buying his product. He's almost getting into a depression. No money, nothing. This people are coming and standing in front of his house. Whatever commissioned work he does, it is not becoming success. He get into big depression. Like. Let's say he's not able to paint anything. He Got nervous. He's not able to do anything. He got into a big. What you call this some shock? They will call. No, what is that? People will not get sleep. Another thing, no, some shock they call it as in psychological depression. They will not get sleep. They will not feel hungry. They'll get into some kind of a. Some traumatic shock or something.
Okay?
So this guy was into a big problem like that, okay? So his wife also started leaving him. And every problem. When you guys are also not having job, this will also come to you, okay? Don't think it's story. Same thing will happen to us also. But we need to understand this, okay? So this guy, what he did is. I'm trying every art forms. He also visits a lot of museum. He also tried this painting, that painting, this, this, this. Nothing is really working. He's becoming success again. He's becoming ground zero artist. Life is not very easy. It's very different. So this guy, when he was in the backyard once, okay, he was into this, what you call this depression. And then he, he, he. He got into a fight with his wife. Okay. And then after that he just throwed that paint mug.
Okay.
So there was a big canvas. He's preparing for some paint or something.
Okay.
He just throwed it.
Okay.
Another fight happened. What happened? Another time he throwed. He was like keeping his eyes like this and then he. What happened is slowly this guy started observing some pattern here. Oh, this sounds exactly Jackson Pollock. Thank you so much, Shashank. Exactly. Hey, can you pick that movie name please? Wonderful artist. The Hollywood artist who had acted in that role. No, he has exactly depicted the same. You guys should watch that movie.
Okay?
And second, what happens is this guy will started walking around it. His wife will come and shout. She will throw stones. She will do everything. Okay? But this guy will not react. This is what you should be. The external world will do lot of things for you, okay? But you should go into the process with the focus that you don't even care what the yaf you should say. You have to focus on your work. This guy started circling around the drip.
Okay.
I think for the next one or two days he was just doing drip. He used to take the paints. He used to spray. He used to spray. He used to spray. He became the world class artist in spray painting. Sorry, the drip painting. Nobody in the world can touch him Till date is the name of the movie. Okay, that's great. Can you bring that cast name? He's one of the classical villain as well.
Okay.
This guy, I don't Know the name of this hero? Wonderfully acted, this guy, Ed Harris. Excellent many movies. This guy is a villain. So the point here is after frustration, after this much of problems, he understood. This is my bloody style. This is what I have to do again and again and again. Nature showed him the right way. He found it right.
He.
If he has not been depressed, if he has not been thrown stones at him, if he has not been divorced with his wife for getting problem into problem, he would have not thrown the paint, right? If he has not thrown the paint, the entire world would have not enjoyed. There is something called drip. And drip painting is a very, very famous. If you go in any European museums, you will find two 3D paintings of this guy. Okay, Amazing. He conveyed most abstract arts through this particular drip painting method. So each and every people of you, each and every people of you will find one method, will find one style. But until then, you will have to explore all this initial job, this portfolio. This may be a start. This may be an exploration. This may be an exploration. That may be a start of your career. This may be a. You're just getting warmed up truly. When you go and enjoy the process, when you enjoy and soak inside solving the problem and then you guys are finding out this is what I'm really good at. You will have to do it off more. You'll have to do again and again and again and again and more. And that becomes your unique style. Until. Unless you are not developing your unique style. I would say you need a support of a mentor for sure. You need somebody to help you out. You need a community. I would not say mentor and all this. I would say you need a. Need a congregation.
Right?
Many religious movement have become success because they had a very strong community and congregation. They all believed in that one particular thing, right? So something like that. You'll have to believe on that. Then only you will be getting. If you guys are not putting efforts on that, your entire design journey will go in only survival. You will not mean you will not really enjoy this process. You will not come into this, you will not find out your real, real point of it. And the moment when you found out that you stop expecting you even work for six months free of cost. How many of you wants to work for six months free of cost in a design organization? Type out 1 in the chat box. Do it now. I'm asking you. Ar. Shashank. Arun0shashank.
Okay.
No, no. It's.
It's.
It's just a casual question. But the mindset I can See, from Arun Yukta, all these people. They are in the thirst. No expectation. Already my house is burning. A lot of problem is there. But still I will work six months for free. I will learn. I will learn. I am learning. The moment when you determine that automatically nature will give you a style. Nature will find you what exactly is fitting for you. And you will have to be open. Sometimes it takes time.
It's okay.
But again don't get lost.
Okay.
That is why I have. I have designed this particular program also. In a way, whether you understand design or not. Whether you find your codex document right or not. You can still get job in 90 days. How many of you felt that all of our courses are packed in a way. You can get job for sure. You cannot tell. Because I know. Money is the ultimate, ultimate economic engine of our life. That is the fuel.
Okay.
You will have to really do something to get job first. First get 6 to 12 LP a year. That's what I call it as a freedom. Right? Your real exploration and design journey comes after that. Where you will have some time. Well, you will not worry about money. This. This job, the status.
This.
What you call this? Peer pressure. Hey, I need to find one job. Hey, this is not. This job is not good. All this. This is what you call this lower level. Lower built thinking. Lower built thinking they call.
Okay.
And when you resonate with the upper level. Like let's say when you go beyond. Okay, it's fine. Everything is there. What should I do now? What am I really capable of? Okay. Let me write down what I exactly want. Let me do it. And then I will tell you guys. You will touch 1 crore salaries. Money will be a byproduct. You will. You will get a lot of things in your life after that.
Okay.
You will reach far more heights which you can't even imagine. That is the beauty of it.
Okay.
The. The graph will go exponential. It will not go linear or gradual. It will. It will go E power X. But for that you will have to work hard. It's not like I will just sit. I will just sleep. Tomorrow morning something will happen. And somebody will prove the dip painting in me. And then I'll become superstar. That is not going to happen. Many people are laughing. That is not going to happen. And you also know that, right? And somebody will write it. Hey, you are my granddaughter. My 100 crores wealth is now. I'm dying tomorrow. Please take it. That is also not going to happen for you guys. You will have to generate your own wealth. Even if somebody gives you 100 crores wealth. What happens if you are getting 50,000amonth?
Okay.
Now and tomorrow if you're getting 100 crores in your bank account, first of all you will get heart attack. Because you are not subconsciously believed that you are capable of 100 crores.
No.
I am seriously telling you guys. I'll tell you what will happen. You will go and surrender this to income tax. Oh please. No, no, no, no, no. I am not the guy.
Okay.
Second, even if you take this 100 crores like let's say in a legal way, you pay tax everything in five years you will again go back to 50,000 per month.
Why?
Anybody knows this? You want to know the answer of this? Please go and read. Rich dad, poor dad.
Okay.
Government wants to give you lakhs of money. Even if the government is going to give you, you're not going to become success until unless you know how to manage the money.
Okay?
There is a financial thermostat for everybody. Based on their financial thermostat. Only your salary comes.
Okay?
If our financial thermostat is really high, one or the other way you will find the money to earn. Whether you are in design, a stock market or rental income or anything, a passive income, active income. Some way or the other you will be getting money. If your financial thermostat is very, very small, whatever you put efforts, you will only then get that much of money. You need to increase your financial thermostat by doing lot of things.
Okay?
The first thing is go and read this. Rich dad and poor dad. You will understand how we've been bound with this situation for years together. And government doesn't want you to become rich. Because you are the ultimate taxpayers, right? Rich people are not going to pay you the tax. Poor people can't pay. You are the only people who are going to pay. And government wants you to become what you call okay. I cannot talk this in public. It's in YouTube life. Every government is good government. Let's not talk. Let's worry about our future.
Okay?
I mean our future. Our. Our life. Let's break this. No. We know this is some problem, is there?
Okay.
Not all the financial ministers can come and solve this problem. But let me take at least my life. Let me take at least my life in charge. And let me become financially free. Do it. That's okay. Happened has happened. At least we can know now, right? So all this initial problems will. Will block you guys. The financial. All the things will block you. To explore this kind of a beautiful topics we're going to see something very, very. It's a small topic only. But I built the context in a way so that you guys will understand this.
Okay?
All these topics, you will not enjoy it much. Because of this kind of initial factors. This money problem, job problem, all these things. The social status, peer pressure, you need to get one job, this, that period at home. Your people will come and tell, hey, you've been sitting six months in this laptop. I can see that. Yes, this figma you're doing something. What is happening? I can see this be some profile you're having. What is that? What is happening? Can I tell my uncle or brother or somebody to refer you for the job in engineering they are giving you 10,000 rupees. Can you please go back? Everybody will come and do whatever they want, okay? Because they're ideally sitting in the home, right? Everybody will do whatever they want. If you start running, guys, people will say why are you running fast? If you start sitting in your home for a long time, people ask, hey Sharath, why are you sitting always here? If you start jumping, people will ask you, why are you always jumping? People will ask anything. Whatever you do, no matter what, people are going to ask you, okay? You should stop what you call putting out all these things out of the people. Same like how this drip painting guy, he did not even care what happened, okay? He started focusing on that. Until the end of the life he only focused on that. And then he became the world class people. Okay, buy a car. Somebody has put one message. Sharad. Thank you, Sharad. Okay, you guys have to understand that, okay? So ultimately important is how you're increasing your capability being a designer. See guys, the more faster you achieve this curve, the lesser support you need from anybody in this world. You will be coming and teaching a lot of people. You will be creating a lot of impact. In fact, next year I'm going to be telling you, you guys can also teach whatever subjects you want. You guys can also teach design. If you guys are becoming very proficient in that, we'll be also providing you certification with the kind of qualification we are having. One kind of a criteria to do that. Because I can see in our program also a lot of people are very much willing to take the leadership and teaching them. You guys can start teaching design in your own context. You can teach design or you can go very, very deep into design. Like that's okay, right? I'm not saying that is the only possibility. But you guys can go anywhere. You guys can become artists. You guys can become great product Designers, big problem solvers earning 50, 60 crore, traveling to the entire parts of the world. Okay, that's okay. But please reach that point. Or else I will tell you. Even after the age becomes 25, 30, 35, you will be only in survival game.
Okay?
Parents will come and push you at a lot of times. After that, your spouse will come and push you a lot of time. After that, your kids will come and push you at a lot of time. After that, education loan will come and put you at a lot of time. House loan will put you. Car loan will come. Then every loan will come. You will become 40, 45. And then you will not have energy to do anything.
Okay?
So make sure you guys are tipping this point. The faster you tip, I'm sure guys, you will be able to do really, really thing which is far more massive. Okay, so enough of Gyan now let's come to the main session. So the question today, what we had is we all know that aesthetic is very, very important. So the question is not a lot of people are taking conscious efforts to practice that, right? So now I'm going to be showing you a picture. Just think about it. I'm not saying in this 30, 40 minutes I'm going to be covering all the aspects that is impossible. But I'll give you a perspective. I'll give you a start. Start exploring from here. If you guys really wanted to know the earlier session, please go back and watch the Monday, Sunday, in fact the Wednesday session and this Thursday is a very, very continuation of that. And Friday, Saturday, Sunday is going to be even more continuation Till Monday. This continuity is going to be there. You guys are going to become the master of composition, aesthetics, okay? And already we saw Rasa theory. And already we saw last. When you build these three components together, your aesthetic will be very, very strong. No matter what. Even if you put a dot, it will become beautiful. People will love it. And you know exactly where to place the dot, how to scale the dot, how to scale down the dot. We saw about scale and proportion last day. I mean before, I mean yesterday.
Okay?
So think about it. So now I'm going to be showing you a picture, guys.
Okay?
You guys have to just express what you guys are thinking about that there is nothing called good, bad or anything. You guys have to just patiently observe and just do whatever is being projected.
Okay?
I'm just sharing you the screen.
Hold on just a second. Okay. Yeah.
Sharing the screen. Okay, so I think we saw about the scale and proportion, right? So we saw about the scale and proportion and just to cover a few bits of it. So these are all the elementary forms in which we construct the so called beautiful aesthetics and everything. Okay, so we know about the point, we know about the lines, we know about plane, we know about gradient, we know about radial things. We saw a little bit in the last session as well. A proper scale and proportion maintain a visual balance. So people started constructing some screens. Like, let's say what they did is they also did something like this. They also started forming some shapes like this. And people have started creating their own composition. Like, let's say people like Sumana and other people have started creating some beautiful composition around it. But the way in which other people also did, like, let's say, I think Sharath, he also used the same element, but he created something even more stable. Balanced composition. Stable, balanced aesthetics. Why? It's because he knows how to play around with the element. And many people have also tried that. But some people are not able to do. It's because you know how to exactly play around with these elements. You guys can take a screenshot, but it's not mandatory to memorize all these things. Please, please understand what I'm saying. You don't have to memorize all these things.
Okay?
Are we clear about it? Are we clear? Because when the moment, if I say this, then what happens is then people start telling me, jagdish, please give me the screenshot of this. I need to. I need to memorize this immediately. There is nothing like that. You need to feel this. You need to know how to feel this. The moment when you guys are feeling it, automatically you will know. Okay, I can able to express this in design. I can able to bring that into the light of design so that you guys will get so much clarity around it.
Okay?
So now to continue this.
Oh, what happened?
Oh, yeah, to continue this, let me tell you even more. Something interesting. Like, let's say we saw about grid. We saw about grid in a few days before.
Okay?
Golden ratio. You leave it.
We'll.
We'll see that later. We saw about rule of thirds. If you guys are constructing something in a plane, in order to make it more aesthetically visually beautiful, you will have to use this rule of thirds. We already saw that. We saw about hierarchy. It's not like, don't stare, guys. We. We have seen all these things, okay? For the new people, it's okay. Many people are, like, staring as if they're seeing for the first time. We did extensive activity in all these things, okay? And also hierarchy, color, context, everything is there. And we Already saw all this distal principle. Everything matters when you're building a composition, when you're building a screen, when you're putting a picture, when you're putting a text. Even this particular screen, whatever I built is having some composition. It's having a text placed here. It's having some kind of a box. The eyes is exactly F to the focal point to read that.
Okay?
And sufficient negative space is given in order to perceive this positive space. And the picture is taking away one third of the grid. Think about it. Everything is coming under some kind of a. What you call a balance. Something like a. What you call looking little beautiful or maybe super beautiful or ugly. It. It's okay. But somewhere it is coming. But now let me give you one activity, guys.
Okay?
You will have to understand this. How many of you know this term rhythm? How many of you have heard this term rhythm? You Google, guys, no problem. I'm not here to teach what is mean by rhythm. But I'm going to give you two minutes of time. Guys. Can you draw something to represent rhythm? You use any of the earlier elements. You use blocks. You use line. You use plane. You use roll of thumb. You know, you use whatever you already learned in your existing career so far. Use this basics. Take a screenshot, no problem. But I wanted you guys to reflect rhythm. You use colors. You use any products. Also to show me, you use a sketch. Pens. You use pencil sketches. You do whatever you want, guys. Okay? I wanted to just see your creativity, how it's happening. Can you draw something for representing the rhythm? Your time starts now. It has to represent rhythm. The activity is very clear, very simple. Let me be. Let me see how you guys are creative, okay? It's not always sketch. You can also show something else. I'm saying, okay, Rhythm. Many people would have heard this rhythm in songs and other things, right? Think about it. Google fast chat, GPT. No. Lot of tools is there in front of you. Okay, Kumar, please write down yourself. I'm asking show something which is representing that. I want a. I want a snapshot of this. Okay? Not the text words. Guys, please, everybody switch on your camera. Because I don't know whether you guys are working or not. Please, please. It's a very, very short call. I really respect that. And yes, yes. So I really like certain people because they always switch on the camera even before I tell or anybody tells. That's a very good code of honor. These people really have superb guys. I really appreciate the people. But I don't know about other people. Like they were like very Very skeptical or hiding.
Okay.
I expect a lot from the architect people. Who is architect? Meghna Arul Murugan. Arul Murugan is there. He's not there. My video is having.
Okay.
And you.
Fine.
And you fix that. Your hardware is having some issues here.
Okay.
As I'm trying to fix it. Okay, fine. Seriously. I'll forget certain people name. Because if you guys are showing my face.
No.
You guys will suddenly come in my mind if some opportunity comes. No, seriously. I'm asking because there are two, three opportunities which is coming in front of me.
Okay.
But we need a very good. What you call a thumbnail artist from our program. I'll tell you about this later. But if I. If I see you guys work very very frequently and often immediately we'll be getting your name guys in your mind. We need a very good video editor. We are looking for some very good. What you call automation specialist. I don't know whether you guys will do automation but. Yeah. Regarding to design. This is what we are requiring. And if I see your skills very often and if you guys are also branding yourself often in the community this will automatically bring to the spotlight.
Okay? Yeah.
People started sharing something. Hey, don't use Google pictures, guys.
Okay.
I think you guys have did it on your own. That's good. Oh, I really like Aditi's. What you call Aditi's picture. Wonderful. Aditi.
Superb.
Chitra Gokul. Wonderful. Rhythm. Rhythm. Rhythm. Rhythm.
Okay.
But Sharath example is very very, very, very strong. How many of you can see Sharath example? Rhythm. Can you guys see rhythm? And that steps picture. You'll see some correlation, right? Can you see some correlation?
Okay.
Sumana.
Okay. Okay. Okay.
Rhythm. I would say.
Okay.
What does mean by rhythm? Find the definition. Guys. It's not a big deal. But what are you feeling when I say the word rhythm? That's what I want. Giridhar has put a Van Gogh painting. Rhythm.
Yay.
That's interesting. Fine. Only five answers have come. What about others? Repeating pattern. That's okay. But show your visuals. Guys. What are you thinking? You guys are downloading Google image. But I would. I would recommend you to sketch it on your own. Even if you take Google images, just add something, highlight something. Rhythm. Okay. That's good. A perfect order.
Okay.
So let me share the screen. Can you guys read this? Rhythm in design refers to the repetition or alternation of visual elements at a regular intervals. Can you guys see why Sharath steps is very, very. What you call apt for that.
Okay.
It creates a sense of Movement. It creates a sense of flow, a continuity in design. If you guys wanted to create a rhythmic screens or rhythmic products for your user, you will have to think about rhythm in a lot more way. Okay, so now the explanation is. By repeating elements like let's say shapes, colors, patterns, designers can establish a visual rhythm that guides the viewer use by viewers eyes through composition. Creating a cohesive engaging experience. Now can you guys go to Google and find any screen which is showcasing this rhythm properly? Now I told you the answer. You guys have also thought some people have brought it. But I want every one of you. Arun Kumar. Wonderful year. Arun Kumar. One more time. Where are you coming from? Wonderful. Yukta. This is also really nice. Yukta. Little, little bit. You're starting up. If you. If you try to finish your sketch, no rhythm will automatically come. But I really like your initiation. Good, good. Mekna Makena. Actually I really like this art rhythm. I would say still some more stronger meaning should be there. You have actually communicated something else. I'll tell you what is that. When that particular session comes.
Okay?
Dayal. Wonderful.
No problem.
Wonderful. Wonderful. Good try. Good try. Nothing wrong.
With snow.
Yeah, that's okay.
Rhythm. Rhythm. Now you've seen the definition, right? Can everybody now go and pick one image? Don't have to do any artist work now please go pick one image which is showcasing this definition. I just told you, right? Try that. I'll tell you Meghna when that session comes.
Wait.
D. This is. Okay, fine. Okay. Ram Raj, please don't look at Ram. Okay. Sumana. Sumana. What is harmony? Can you tell me? This is one question for Sumana. What is harmony? What's your understanding towards harmony?
Tell me.
Harmony is basically balance.
What is balance? Okay fine. I understood where they are coming from. But that's okay. Okay, let's go. Arun Kumar, perfect example. Bharati, wonderful example. Anju, mind blowing example. Giritar. I could not get it, man. Dual lingo. Learning path. But you'll have to show the gif. I guess then only that understanding will be there. Sorry, I'm not able to connect with the picture. Kumar. Sai. Hey Kumar. Sai has given something classical. Okay, that's great. Okay, fine. So now I want all the people to answer this. Pavitra, Meghna, ideally you have to really look at that architecture. It's a B architecture.
Guys.
I told you just about the Bhas, right? Just 15 minutes before I told you about this B. Communal building. One of the B. Chandigar also. Oh, it's in Chandigar also. That's great. Superb. Chandigar was a properly built city, guys. Many architects from many people have come and built. It's one of the beautiful city. Hey, Tilagar. Wonderful. Tilagar Ramraj. Wonderful. Many people are adding colors to it. Okay. That's great.
Okay. Okay.
So now are you guys getting rhythm? What is mean by rhythm? If you guys think about constructing anything in your screen. Like let's say close your eyes and think.
Hey, if I'm.
If I have to create this particular onboarding experience. Do my user really need rhythmic feel in his design? Rhythmic feel in his viewing experience? No, it doesn't. If the answer is no then don't force with this rhythm there. If the answer is okay, yes. Let's say you're designing an application like calm. How many of you know this application? Calm.
Okay.
Yes. So think about that. In fact, the calm application is far more different from the other mobile application and other things. So it has a different composition built accordingly. Because it's a multi sensorial device. Right. It not only produces a sound. It not only produces vibration. It. It also touches all of your senses in a different way. So think about it. If you're application doesn't call for that particular word. Don't force fit it. Padmavadi. Wonderful Sleep story. Sir. I could not understand here, Shivraj. Very simple example. But you can't really become more creative.
Okay.
That one you're saying. Okay. Thank you so much.
Okay.
Thank you so much.
Okay.
Okay, fine. So let's come back to the topic. So rhythm is different. Rhythm and design refers to the repetition and alteration. And also which is helping you to create a movement. See, ultimately we as a designer has to use this moment to convey meaning. Use this flow to guide the user to complete the transaction. Or to buy the product. Or to make a call to action. Don't think artists and sit in the home. You will have to convert that into a business activity.
Then.
And only your business is going to grow. And you guys are also solving some problem. Please connect the dots. Don't go into this world of artists. That's okay. Fine. But we will have to be balanced. I already told you that this artist have solved the problem. And they have started creating the livelihood out of it. And they've created a mastery. But you guys have to think with this principle. What should I do?
Okay.
It's not like you're learning and leaving. That's not what we are discussing here.
Okay.
So think about it. How many of you can see this? How many of you can see this? Somewhat a simple example, right? Rhythm. How many of you go to the music playlist and type rhythm in your keyword? Can you do that in your Spotify rhythm? Go to YouTube Music, anything. Can you put rhythm and tell me what is the first song you guys are getting? Rhythm. Hey Jagdish. How is it related to music here?
Okay.
Rhythm. When you put. What kind of a songs are you getting? Guys, there is a movie named Rhythm. It comes. Okay.
That's okay. Yes sir. But.
But are you getting any songs related to that? That's what I'm asking. Oh Aishwarya. Really like that. But the thing is in this sand it is not a repetitive pattern. It's a repetitive but it's not in an orderly way. The flow is there, the movement is there. But. But I would say there is something else also. Aishwarya, we'll see that.
Okay.
With the movie, that's okay. But any song are you guys getting Solve playlist on the YT music?
Okay.
So next time when you're designing a rhythmic screens for your user think about if you are very inclined towards music.
Okay.
See, I'm inclined towards watching art. I'm inspired towards talking people. That's my interest.
Okay.
If I have to design a rhythmic products I will just close my eyes and then I'll think about what should I do. Then I'll collect some pictures. Then I'll talk to the people. Then I'll also go and visit some places. Then even in the behance, even in the pinterest I will only look for these things. And then I'll create something called Mood board. How many of you know this? How many of you have heard this?
Okay.
Don't do it like a memorized process.
Okay.
When the process calls for this, do this. So everybody is calling me and asking how to do mood. What? You tell me, Jagdish. I mean it is. It should not be force fitted. It should be. It should be coming as a natural flow for you. And once that particular emotion really calls for making that thing then you go and paint. If you're very comfortable reading. I'm really good in the sketch. Pens and all these pens and pencils. I'll show you some someday. My sketches and all.
Okay.
So I'm. I'm good in expressing that. I'm good in expressing the strokes and everything. Because I. I like this manual stuffs more.
Okay.
And I'll also do this wacom stuff. But I really feel this paper and pencil touch is really really different.
Okay.
So everybody has the way to express. Some people will play music. Some people will do sports. Some people will do. Many people does sports if they want to really enjoy that. So think about that. When you're. When you're designing, when you're. When you're thinking about that mood and vibe, what are you guys getting? That adrenaline rush, right? So many people feel like I have to lift this weight. So what does that feel and emotion? It is coming. So you will have to extract that particular particles from your thought process and bring that into a mood board. The moment when you see the mood board and then when you start doing something design you. You will make an extraordinary design which is more in line with that. First of all, find out whether your audience requires rhythm or not. Okay. Don't do a non contextual rhythm. I've learned. Let me do it. Don't do that. That will screw your design. That will be very clearly seen.
Okay.
Wearing pants, wearing coat, suit and putting track pant in the bottom with the bear leg. How it will look like that is how your designs will look like. How many of your design is already like that because you haven't understood this? Think about it. Many people's design are like this. Because we are not constructing this with this basic elements in the mind.
Okay.
So yeah, rhythm. I told you. How many of you can find this? This is also rhythm. Movement, flow, direction, repetitive elements. It is arranged in a particular way.
Okay. Okay.
So now I'm going to be showing something else. Kumar Sai. I also played with the Google. Okay, good.
Fine.
So now there is another activity, guys.
Okay.
Before that we'll quickly see how many of you can see rhythm in the Adidas logo. In previous activity I used to do this for 30 minutes to 40 minutes. But anyway a lot of students will bring their logos with the rhythm and all the things. But right now we don't have time. So that's why we are actually rushing the show. Okay, so now let's get to the next activity. Can you draw something for harmony? Now people will be little confused. Now the confusion starts. The third question I'm going to be asking you. It is even more confusing. Come on. Many people will understand rhythm. Many people understand harmony. Already Meghna has answered the third question. So lot of confusions will happen.
Okay.
Okay. Represent something for harmony. H A R M O N Y. Go to Google. Find out your own way. Just understand and pick some elements representing that fast. We'll have to do really fast. Guys, I have another meeting to jump on. People are visual design like. Let's say there's UI designers and all. I really needed an extraordinary design from you guys. Okay, so don't tell like I can't do. Like if you guys are answer is also same like other people. Then I'll tell you one thing. You guys are not really understanding what happened in the past. You become this selective amnesia guy. You become this Muhammad Gajni and now everybody's saying ux, ux, ux. You are coming into this world and then you forget you are you. Okay, so please dig out that.
Yeah. Cool.
Many people have.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Arvind, what is that? Oh, that's interesting.
Here.
How many of you can see Aravind's example? Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. I really appreciate that. ADAS logo. Scattered dots. Good, good, good. Somewhat. This is what our logo also represents. A balance. Right? Always white and black. Okay, good. Yes, yes. I showed you. Shankar, did you do that in pencil? Downloaded image.
Oh, okay. Okay.
I would be really happier if you would have done that in the pencil. But anyway, fine color palette.
Okay.
Okay, that's good. Excellent. Anju, is this an example of harmony? Hey guys, don't put Google and just tell that. Just. Just feel it and tell me.
No.
See one picture. I can able to tell you whether you felt it and then you took it or you just like that took. Sharad showed one picture, right? Steps, staircase, rhythm. Aravind showed one picture for rhythm. How many of you see that? Tabs.
That's.
That's the real feel. Feel it and get it.
Okay.
Ramaraj is playing very safe.
This time.
I will not forget. What did you send Ram Raj before?
Okay.
Anyway fine harmony.
Okay.
That's interesting.
Okay.
Hariharan, can you see Hariharan's picture? Sumana particularly Suman. Excellent. Anju. Wonderful. Harmony.
Harmony. Okay. Okay.
Sumana, now you understood perfectly. Your example is really showing me that. Superb, Anju. I'm still not able to connect it, but that's okay. What about others? What about others? Sameer.
Wow.
I love you. Seriously. Sameer. Wonderful. Sameer is a visual designer. Wonderful, wonderful, Superb, superb. How many of you really feeling harmony here? I'm really getting a lot of vibes. If you ask me to sketch now. I'll do a lot of sketches now. With respect to this harmony, with respect to the flows. Have you seen in many screens there'll be some arrows coming. There'll be some. Some. Some curves going here and there. There'll be some. Some gradients going over there and here. You guys will see that, right? So that's exactly the artists, the designers who have designed that particular screen have really gone into the process. Have really gone into the harmony. And the same vibe the user will also get when they see the screen.
Wow.
Such a beautiful hat.
Wow.
Such a beautiful feel I'm getting.
Okay.
If it is. If it is somewhat different.
Okay.
I'll tell you what is different later. But you guys have to understand. Some people have typed our logo. Thank you, Arvind, for branding yourself.
Okay.
Good. Aditi. Wonderful. Aditi. Aditi. Harmony. Harmony.
Okay.
If this color pencils are made out of white and black then it's called rhythm.
Okay.
It's because of the colors. I'm taking it into a different gradation. And my. My dimension is also a little bit stretched. Wonderful. Okay. Harmony.
Harmony. Okay.
It's exactly not a strong harmony. Kumar. Sai, stop using this AI images. Okay. Punish. Harmony. Yes. Punish. Punish. You have something very artistic nature in new Punish. Why don't you just build that?
Okay.
You're too much into this process. Process all this. Why don't you. Why don't you focus on your visuals here? I mean, I think you have a great future there. I'm just suggesting you. But anyway it's your choice. Pavitra. Where is Pavitra? I want to see Pavitra. Wonderful. Harmony. Can you guys feel something when you're just seeing this image? Harmony. You need to feel that if some image is little disturbing. No, you will not feel that.
Okay. Okay.
Come back. Come back. Harmony in design is the arrangement of elements to create a visually pleasing and balanced composition. See, there is a huge difference between what we saw before and now. It involves the use of similar related elements to achieve unity and coherence. See here also we are talking about unity and coherence. But harmony is the arrangement of elements to keep a visually pleasing and balanced composition. Here you can play with color. You need not have to always play with repetitive elements. It's not like rhythm. Think about it. But still you guys are creating a harmonious feel. How many of you have heard this world? Hey, you're very harmonious. Hey, you play very harmonious. How many of you? Mostly in the musical world. This has been spread.
Okay.
Think about it. Think about it. Harmony. Harmony.
Okay.
Background harmony.
Wow.
Who's that? Meghna, come on.
Here.
Your architect is coming from within. Okay, that's good. Okay. Kumar Sai has pasted one picture of Shashankar. Wonderful. I really like that. Superb. Guys, can you see harmony over there in Telaga's picture? What is that, Shashank? Harmony. You put the harmony box itself.
Kumar is saying Shashank's background.
That's good, that's good. But look at Shashank's picture now. He has put one harmony box. That's not called harmony. Please. Fun apart. Fun apart. That's exactly a partial rhythm. It's not even full rhythm.
Okay.
Harmony. Aishwarya Shankar.
Yeah.
I have posted one picture.
Let me, let me, let me, let me. Yeah. Arun Kumar. Wonderful. Arun Kumar. How many of you can see harmony here? Actually it's more of rhythm. I would say a partial of harmony, Arun, but superb. Where are you coming from?
Kerala.
Wonderful. Arian. Superb. Super wonderful. Vishwesh. Harmony.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm getting it. Hey, one person was telling pictures posted. Where is that? Here is it Aditi Mekna. Harmony. Okay. Meghna.
Perfect.
Sumana. Harmony. Wonderful. Sumana. Perfect Example.
This picture I have taken actually.
Okay, okay, no problem. I'm just actually losing out on the picture because so much of picture. Harmony, harmony. It's more of fantasy looking for me more than harmony. Okay, fine. Good, good, good. So think about it when you're. When you're seeing that picture.
Okay.
See 1920s and 30s people used to spend one hour time in just one painting to look at that. Guys, how many of you don't know this? Their attention span was very, very, very high. They used to spend 30, 40, 50 minutes, one hour to just look at the painting, to observe the line, the strokes, the harmony, the rhythm, the feeling, what they're getting into it. But now the time is reduced to nine seconds. We can't even stand in one place for nine seconds. How many of you know this? We have a hyper. Hyper deficient attention syndrome. Whatever scientific name you call. I don't know name is there for that, right? Adhd, huh? Whatever. So we have a. We have a super, super distractive world. Everybody is affected in that average teenager distracts 134, seven times in a smartphone every single day. University of Chicago has found that why we are not able to feed these images because we have not focused here for a very, very long time. Can I tell you guys, if I give that one example, you guys will understand what is focused.
Okay.
Then you will start observing very fast. Our orgasm time has come down in this last century. How many of you know this? This is a scientific study which was being proven because we are not focusing enough on certain things. It goes for every aspects of your life. Think about it. Our quality of the childbirth and the quality of the reproduction and the next generation. How the healthy offsprings really gets produced. It's much different. Than the 100 years before. Till now it's happening. It's because of majorly attention disorder deficiency is there among everybody. One or the other way people is affected. Either extreme cases or many or mild cases. Maybe that guy will not seem like that. But when you go and talk to this guy, you will understand. So this is exactly fact. We need to understand this. So why we are not able to focus on certain rhythm harmony and go into it very deeply and enjoy it is because we are super distracted. We are super super distracted in this day and age. And we are not able to feel it. We as a designer really have to calm down a lot. A lot. That's why I told you Focus is the seventh important habit of our program. Focus is very, very, very, very important. It's going to be a biggest asset. You guys don't know about it. Very, very deep. Yes. Aditi. Aditi. I would say some more meaning is there in this harmony. But I'll tell you see, there are many elements. I'll take the example of Aditi.
Okay.
Look at this. Then you guys will understand much faster. Look at this. I'm taking the example of Aditi.
Okay.
I'm not complaining this example. But I'm just. Okay, the image is little blurry. See here if this elements are having some kind of a cohesion then it's called harmony. Right now this is one direction. This is in one direction. This is hanged around. This is round in shape. This is hexagonal shape. This is arch in shape. This is having a different color. So it is called what? What it is called? I'll tell you after this, this particular section. Next part we're going to see that.
Okay.
What is that?
Chaos.
We don't have to call it as a chaos. We can call abstract. People have got this word. Who's got that word? Shashank.
Perfect.
So the point here is in this image if I have to make it harmonious probably I can able to change all of the curve lines. Like let's say if I am an artist here, what I would do is I would keep this element as a repeating. Let's say the artist is really liking this hexagonal kind of a blocks. So what I would do is I would change this entire sofa into hexagonal blocks. I would change this entire arch into a hexagonal block way. I would change this room corner as well as a block. I would also change this round example as a block, block, block, block. Then I would remove two, three colors. Then I'll put only one or two colors Then it becomes harmonious. This is how you decipher the art and graph in order to create far more different meaning out of it.
Thank you for explaining.
Yeah, thank you, thank you. No problem. I just mean seriously, I don't have time, guys. If you allow me, I will go on hours of hours. Because I really like this kind of a topics. But anyway, considering the time, we will have to go fast.
Okay, fine.
Yeah. So harmony in design is arrangement of elements to create a visually pleasing and balanced composition. It involves the use of similar repeating elements to achieve unity and coherence. Provided that image is broken down the stream it and automatically the harmony comes in. And you can take any ugly screens and also make it harmony. How many of you know can connect the dots? Go back to your portfolio, go back to your visual screens.
Okay.
You will itself laugh. First of all, what the sh. Yes, I have did with my design so far. How come I made this kind of things in my. Then you go back, then you correct it, then you. Then you tweak it. In art college they used to give you what you call an abstract clay. They'll give you some random elements and they wanted to make it as a. Make it as a harmony, make it as a rhythm. And you will have to do it. It's not like you are picking some picture from the Google. You will have to use the elements what is in there in front of you. And then you have to change it. Then you will know what to tweak, what to tweak, what not to tweak. There is an activity which we have been given. We have given a picture of a girl, okay. And we'll have to choose who is beautiful girl, ugly girl according to that context.
Okay.
And the person who has choose the ugly girl, they have to make that girl beautiful by making some changes in the face. And in my case, I got this nose attraction factor. Everybody will have an attraction factor for their face.
Okay?
My professor and everybody, everybody has one attraction factor. So I like that girls who's having this nose because of that particular factor which is making me attracted. So seriously, everybody has an attraction factor. Some people like chin. One of my friend, he likes long faced girls. See, you will have to be very open to do all these experiments, guys. Then only you'll know your true thing. What you're really touching this. If you guys know how to tweak these designs, literally you can make any screens beautiful. I'm telling you, nobody needs to teach anything. But you will have to do practice again and again and again. We did A one day activity. For this we took the pictures, we took past it on the what you call this wall and then we did this activity and then we changed it.
Okay.
And then we tweaked this. How many of you watched Mission Impossible 4? There is one villain lady, you know, come. That girl was most ugly. According to me. I put that picture and we did that experiment. And you guys also do that. It's called a face experiment actually. And you guys will know what to change. And similarly I took the Sony camera. And similarly I took the Ferrari car. And then we tweaked that. How to make it ugly. How to make the ugly beautiful. It's exactly that way. So inherently you will be applying this rhythm and harmony into it. And same goes for your screens as well. So take that. If you guys are taking your screens from the portfolio and tweak it and say, hey, this is what is really making this harmonious feel. This is what is making it rhythmic. Let me see that, Let me see that. Okay, Now I'll make one more iteration. Two more, three more, ten more. 200, 300 iterations. You will have to make guys, then only you will get. Because harmony doesn't come just like that. You will have to find a sweet spot in order to find that one particular curve or the angle or the gradient which is going to give that particular beautiful strings. Every built application which is so famous across the world for all the culture, people have thought through this much. It's not a joke, it's not a random. It's not like it's just because they had a color palette and then they're doing it.
No.
And particularly when you have a design system in your organization and you will have much more problem to do it. How many of you can correlate? This is harmony. How many of you can correlate? This is harmony. Can you guys tell why it is Harmony? Tell me. Many people will get arguments now. Fast, fast. We have one more topic to cover.
It has some balance of colors in it.
Wonderful. When you take this element, like let's say when you take this element, it's actually balanced, but it's a little asymmetric balance I would say because it's not exactly a symmetrical balance, but it's kind of balanced. The colors, the usage, the patterns, the, the, the. The brown colors particularly it goes and picks every object and keep it in a harmonious way. That's why I like this. Sumana's example. Sumana's example is very, very perfect for harmony. And one more. Samir has Given one example. Wonderful. So feel that again. It's not very, very what you call difficult. If you guys have started feeling it automatically, you will know what is mean by harmony and how we can start creating around it. See, same example.
Okay.
So the harmonious design ensures that different elements work together seamlessly, creating sense and order of balance. Color, shape, proportion are coordinated to achieve a visual unity. I mean unity. How many of you can really correlate to harmony? Now comes the problem. Tell me, are you guys getting this? This is harmony. Look at it very, very closely. You'll have to pay close attention. Then only you will get it. Or else you will tell me this as an abstract. Tell me, tell me. Challenge. Guys, come on. I don't want you guys to just like that.
This is abstract. But like when you are getting too much of connected connective lines, it becomes a little bit of chaotic.
Take a screenshot. Aditi and Shashank, try to decipher and tell me after the session what is making you look like abstract and asymmetric. We'll try to understand because the more you go and explore, only you guys are going to get it. You'll have to spend at least 10, 15 minutes to look at it closely. I would take even 30 minutes if I have to do this activity because I'll take it into Photoshop or Illustrator, I'll take it into Canva or some software and then I'll start to split this into screens. Then I try to understand what are the weight. I will give scores. You guys know how to give scores. In order to balance out a particular screen, you will have to assign some scores and value for this. And once this side is also like. Let's say if you guys are building a screens, like, let's say if this side is also 25, if this side is also 25, then only the screen is asymmetrically balanced or maybe symmetrically balanced or maybe what you call asymmetrical balance. How many of you know this? Like this. You're confusing me. You guys know balance. You guys know symmetric. You guys know asymmetric. How many of you know asymmetric balance? In fact, that is the example what I'm exactly showing you. It is also asymmetric, but it's also balanced. But it's also harmonious. Little tricky to understand. But if you assign weights and numbers, you guys can go very deep and understand this aesthetics. Because once you are reconstructing this automatically, you will know this is what is making sense. And then you will be able to create with whatever elements you Are given. Sometimes your organization will tell. Hey.
Hey, guys.
Will you excuse me? I'll just connect the charge.
Okay? Hold on.
Hold on one second.
I'll just.
But until then. Can you just decipher this one, please? It's a good activity, I guess. Okay, can you guys decipher? I'll just connect my charge.
It.
Why are they laughing? What's happening? Anju sent to an image. I think. I don't know. It is harmony or what? It's okay, guys. Don't make fun. But it's okay. Anju, what happened? Did you wrongly share the image or what? Anju, I think the first image makes sense. If you show a GIF video. No, that would make harmony.
But the second image.
Okay, see. Let's look at it patiently. Guys. It's actually harmony. Shashank, it's actually harmony.
Can you know?
Can you tell that? No, it's harmony. It is symmetrical on both sides.
Yeah, it's funny, but.
But what makes it funny is the choice of the picture. We could have shown harmony in thousand ways. But thank you, Anju, for making us. I want to see your expression. Anju switched off their camera. You are relating that thing to a road. So it's kind of funny.
I don't know.
Wonderful. Wonderful. Hey, Sumana's example. Also beautiful. Sumana, where are you? Sumana, you have to position here. Have you started writing codex documents? Sumana, have you started writing codex?
Yes, Please.
Please think about it. You already have a great strength here in terms of visual, okay? So think about it and write a codex accordingly. Because Codex is going to be the ultimate diagnostic tool for me to understand how the strategy goes for you further.
Okay?
Yeah. Job we can get, no problem. I already told you we can get. Because you have a strong profile. But I can see that your pictures, your sketches. In the last two, three days you are having something. But you will have to explore that properly.
Okay?
Good, Yukta. Perfect. Excellent. Okay, so now it's playful, right? It's a playful harmony. How many of you can see harmony here? Very confusing. You will not get it on the go. But you'll have to look at it very closely. Harmony.
Very interesting.
Think about it. These are like very, very carefully chosen images.
Okay?
So now now comes the real beauty.
Okay.
With this, we are concluding this call. Most. Most. Most. What you call, I would say easier. Difficult. It depends on you. Can you represent something called entropy like this? I am not a chemistry student here. You go and find out. Guys, what is this entropy? I'm not going to tell you okay. Can you draw something to represent entropy? What is entropy? Okay, I'll give you a small hint. Randomness. Okay, that's enough. From here you guys start. But it should look good. The pressure what you're saying. No, you should not just put trantropy. It should also be what you call. It should also be looking visually pleasing and everything.
Okay.
Or else this class is not going to have any significance. Think about it.
Bring that.
Let me see. Let me see all of your images. Yes, Nishit. Perfect. Ms. Asymmetric balance is based on weight. Color transition dissolves so smooth and beautiful. Excellent. Adherent. Perfect is saying the shadows and 3D field gives harmony. Wonderful. Nishit. It's based on the dimensional value. That's great. Square and circle. Still. I think this is abstract.
Okay.
Asymmetrically balanced. Perfect. Make now two shapes.
Okay. Okay.
Color to warm harmony. Brush patches.
Create. Create.
Haran. That's exactly. Rhythm.
Okay.
Samir. Samir. That's harmony. I think what you shared. That's harmony. I. I think you shared the earlier example, right?
Okay, fine.
Think about it guys. Entropy. Entropy is defined as the disorderedness of the particles of the molecules of the chemistry of the. Okay, guys know about the definition. But the meaning is same. It's nothing different. It's a disorderness. It's a randomness.
Okay.
No, Aishwarya, that's. It's exactly opposite to entropy. Are you putting exactly opposite to entropy? No, Sumana. Still think about it. Entropy is. Entropy can be even more Gar. G. Can you look at G's picture? Omg. Omg. But see the interesting thing is you half the way around. Okay. Other people are not even half the way around. You're half the way around, but half the way. What I'm expecting is it needs to be balanced. Can you do that? Think about it. You are the only exception. Entropy.
Entropy.
No arm. Still you can find another more example. Anju. Hey, you took the chemistry scientifically correct. Design wise wrong.
Okay.
Aravind.
Okay.
And a good example. But.
Okay.
Okay, fine.
Okay.
Make now entropy. Still not getting it. Oh, Kanda.
Wow.
Kanda is somewhat there. Drip paint. Drip paint. Yeah. Kanda is somewhat there. Excellent. Thank you. Thank you for D. Can you guys see D's picture? It's a. It's a perfect example of entropy. The best example. Can you guys see D's picture? Can you guys tell me why? It is perfectly good. Even G also shown one example. But. But what is making this?
Tell me. Particles.
Hey, Kumar. Amount of engineering particles. Now think about it. Randomly distribute it's distributed in an even way. See in the condas image also entropy is there. But the balance is little bit missing. But here I can see some balance is coming. Maybe if I start drawing some weights I will know exactly whether it's okay or not. But Shivraj. Yes, somewhat good. Shivraj. Sharat. Wonderful. Sharath.
One second.
No, Sharat.
It.
Chitra's example is superb. Entropy perfect. But the balance is little bit missing. But yeah perfect. But Sharath. Little bit your understanding is little bit different. That's what I'm saying. Shashank Venkat. What is that? Happy Christmas for you. This is nowhere. My intention was to show the Christmas tree the way the it is not even rhythm, not even harmony, not even entropy. Why did you bring this picture? Happy Christmas. I was like if I fail anyway, Merry Christmas to everybody. So I was like just send it.
Got it. Okay.
Sumana.
Sumana.
But what is this Sumana? I'm not able to get this.
No, this is basically a painting. But as like entropy says that the elements are scattered and each and every element has its own value. I mean focus.
Got it.
So this picture also like if you see each and every part has a like different focus.
Yeah. That I can understand. But it's somewhat looking cohesive for me. That's what is making me not to tell it is entropy or else I would have told it's entropy. Yes. Arun, you are there. Somewhat same. Perfect. Good. Aishwarya. Shankar. Oh that's interesting.
Here.
Superb. Superb Entropy. I really like the example of Aishwarya. Really good. Really good. Anju. Yeah. Okay, good. Sameer. Sameer is getting in track. Srinivas. This is confusing. Srinivas. I can't tell this. Everybody I can able to tell you but Srinivas. Oh I need some time for this. You made me confused.
How do I say this? Oh no man.
Not able to get it. But I think it's entropy. But if you give me some time I'll find it out.
Okay.
But other people did not give me this much of thought in one go. We can tell your example is right or wrong. But Srinivas is making. Srinivas is an artist. How many of you don't know this? Srinivas is an artist but he wants to become a product designer. He's trying to learn in this program and then he's getting into the job. But yeah, that's good. Okay Arvind. Good. Ashwarya. This is already we discussed this.
Okay, good.
Vishwesh Kamath. Why so Serious. That's good.
Entropy. Entropy.
No, this is cohesive. Yeah. This is conveying a meaning. See, this is conveying the. The face of the Batman. Right? Heath Ledger. So I would not say a strong example. Example is good. Wonderful example of entropy. Perfect example of entropy. Sharath. Harmony. Sharath. That is harmonious. Look at it, you'll know it. Hariharan. Yeah, yeah. Entropy.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
I'm going to be showing you an image, guys.
Okay?
A lot of people are getting it, okay? If we keep doing it, it will go like anything. Anju, for sure. That is not entropy. Did you see any Ghost Movie or what? Okay, that is not exactly entropy. Sumana. No, Sumana. It's exactly opposite what you're doing. I'll tell you why it is not entropy.
Okay?
Some people are getting this. See, I'll tell you what is mean by entropy.
Okay?
First, let's see the definition. Maybe we can get a little bit. Entropy in design refers to a lack of order or predictability. See, I really wanted to underline this word, predictability. This is how I am judging you guys. If you guys are creating the example which is totally unpredictable, it will become entropy. How many of you have understood this often associated with randomness or chaos? That's. Everybody does it. Okay, like, let's say some people have put the randomness, but predictably, it is there. See, in Sumana's last picture, I can clearly predict this is only between four or five elements. It is repeating. I would say it is somewhat between rhythm and harmony. Are you guys getting it or not? Look at it closely before coming into a judgment and conclusion. Very closely. It can be intentionally produced to create a sense of spontaneity or to break away from the traditional norms. Most, most important thing. See, guys, out of all the composition words, my favorite word is this. I'll tell you why. If you guys know how to play with this, you guys can literally disrupt the meaning of the screen. Also bring the meaning of the screen by making the people really confused and not able to figure it out. What's happening. Entropy is a beautiful example always. Okay, so entropy challenges traditional design principles. You guys can break the flow. Like, everybody is putting the text like this, right? So why don't I write the text like this? Why did I write a test like this? Why did I go like this way? Why don't I just start from here and then let me go like this here? You break the convention, right? You. You break the exact flow of what designers and other people are trying to view. And also you. You Are still keeping that balanced out of it. It's not just deviating. See, many people have deviated the balance. That's why their examples are not strong. Entropy challenges traditional design principle, introducing disorder and predictability. While it may seem chaotic, but it can be a deliberate choice to evoke specific emotions. End of the day, people are forgetting this. That is the difference between people. The kid who is scribbling in the wall and the artist. Simple guys to put forth a very simple example or to break free from the rigid design constraints. Because if you. I'm very rigid guys. I'm a very, very typical mechanical engineer guy who doesn't love all this art, music. I used to laugh at artists and all once. Okay, I don't. I don't really get sensitized towards this. But these words and terminologies changed me a lot. I started engaging with a lot of artists and started 85 museums. Which insane person will go, you think? No, nobody will go. Okay, so that much of love I started getting because of this kind of a terminology. And you guys will stick to one thing. Harmony or rhythm or anything that will become own style of you. And then you do more of that. And then you become neutral. You do everything. If you ask me rhythm, I'll do. If you ask me harmony, I'll do. If you ask me entropy, I'll do. I'll do. Whatever is that requirement for to solve that problem? I'll do because I know I'm solving a problem. I'm not just bounding myself by creating beautiful arts. That's where I position myself. So you need to also think about it very clearly when you're going about it.
Okay?
How many of you can see entropy here? Look at it closely. Look at it closely before commenting. Look at it and then comment. Because there is a hidden meaning inside it.
Foreign.
Many people are now getting the examples. Srinivas. Perfect.
Yeah.
Srinivas, you are in the line here. Help others, please help others learn. What is entropy? I would say. Okay, now you are getting in track. Help other people handhold and help them.
Okay.
Arun, Arun, Arun, Arun.
Good.
But that, that predictability. Predictability is still Yukta. Good. Somewhat good.
Okay.
No, this is harmony or harmony. And you, that is.
Okay, fine. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
So look at the cd. Look at how it's coming out. Maybe we'll decipher another image. You guys will know how many of you can see entropy here. You guys will take half a day to fight with me why it is not entropy or why it is Entropy. It will take a lot of time but just observe. It's exactly entropy. You can see it's all bounded but it's exactly entropy. You cannot balance it visually. You can put the visual weights and see it will be totally, totally disoriented. And still it's all connected. Still it's all having a balance. This is called asymmetrical balance. Attaining entropy is very difficult. You do random but it still makes a sense. Many, many applications have you seen. It looks very random but it still makes a sense. Beautiful artists, people who have designed that particular screens or products or anything, they're like well thought through. How many of you have seen this car design? Tesla truck, Cybertruck. How many of you have seen that DAPA design? Okay, it's just a boxy. Can somebody share that image? Tesla truck, automotive designer. Come on here.
Okay.
If you see the Tesla Model S, if you see the Tesla Model E, Model X, model Y, you know Tesla produced the car like this sexy.
S, E, X, Y.
That's how Tesla cars are. Instead of E, they produced this three because this copyright issue. Sexy. But Tesla started producing a car called, I mean the truck called Cybertruck. How many of you don't know this? It will look like dappa. Exactly.
Okay.
But it will be perfectly balanced. It's a deliberate break of the design. Have you seen any car with the, with sharp corners? Every car in the world will have radius corners. How many of you have observed this? This designer have deliberately took the decision to break the flow and make it like a dabbar. Design is one of the high selling cars in the world. Don't think I thought initially who will buy this? This car became exactly ulta. A lot of people have bought this very, very interesting concept. Think about it. Thank you. Thank you, Ramraj. Thank you, Sameer. Thank you. Thank you. Look at that. The artist who have actually brought the sketch into the life. Think about how he, how he would have brought this. Every car has a canopy right on the top. They have literally broken that canopy. Have you guys seen this? Every car has a radius corner. No car in the world right now doesn't have the sharp corner. These people have deliberately created that. This is called breaking the pattern. Everybody's eyes will always look towards one thing, right? What happens when you break that? People get a little interesting feel. That's what you have to do with your design in order to make it interesting. That's, that is what is going to make you also unique in order to stand out of the crowd.
Okay.
So entropy is very Interesting. But it's also the 2 edge swat. If you start playing with it, and then if you are not achieving the balance, people will spit at your people. This guy has gone mad. We need to take a designer who is mentally stable. Let's reject this guy. You will get that kind of. That's why entropy is very tricky to play. You will have to have a courage to play. Have you seen many, many people in our design community, they're very scared to use colors. They play very safely. I've seen many people in our program, they play only with few colors, black and white, this, that. They are very afraid. I've seen many people not taking much organic shapes in their design. Very afraid. Can you break that flow? Can you guys do that? Can you. Can you break your own flow? First of all, Kanda, particularly Kanda, I would say Kanda is okay. But if I ask Kanda to bring something organic shape into his design in his screens and everything, I don't know Kanda, how receptive he is. If I ask Sharath, maybe he will do. Because I've seen his shapes, which is like organics as well. I would say, see, my names are coming for the people who are switching on the camera, not the people who are switching off. Because I cannot really predict. Like Sumana. Okay, Sumana will definitely do. Sumana has that catch.
Okay. Okay.
There is one Ramraj. If I ask Ramraj to break the flow, maybe Ramraj may feel little struggle. Yeah, but he will break consciously. He has to work on it. Then automatically you break the barrier, and then you do whatever color you want. You give me yellow, I'll create only yellow posters. You give orange, I'll give only orange posters. So that level of breaking you will have because you know how the entropy really works. And then one more strong example. How many of you can see entropy here? How many of you are getting confused with harmony? With this one more example I'll give you. You guys will understand.
Super.
This is the perfect, perfect example. Guys, can you see this? I put the word itself for you. If you guys don't understand this, I'm sorry, guys. Beyond this, I'm not able to understand explain you. You guys can learn it in YouTube. I would say this is the most simplest way to explain entropy. If you guys understand this entropy, your entire design career will be in a total mean. Your entire aesthetic skill will be in a totally different way. But you will have to practice it. It's not like a theory what you're reading now. You guys have explored, right? You guys have put the pictures, right? And I'm commenting and commenting and other people are commenting and you're learning and then you're breaking and then you're tweaking. This is how you learn the design fully. You cannot learn with just the definitions. The more and more you do in entropy, rhythm, harmony, again and again and again, automatically you will find the sweet spot for you which sits into you. And imagine if you design like this, how many of you have seen this? There is one event which Apple launched recently. They've exactly done that. One Apple logo will be there and slowly it will start breaking outside. And when we cannot predict this pattern, look at this. The predictability is totally zero. But still the meaning is conveyed. But still the balance is there. But still the randomness is shown. This is exactly called entropy. Got it? So entropy design refers to the lack of order of predictability. With that, look at this. Many people have drifted away. In the example, some people have got it right, like Srinivas and other people. Many people have drifted away. Sharath have still not understood what is entropy. I can see that. That's okay. We will get it slowly. We'll get it slowly. Don't worry.
Okay?
So that's what is called entropy. With this. We are coming to the end of this session, guys. Are you guys loving this session? On a scale of 1 to 10, how do you write this session? Hundred ten. Ten.
Ten.
Ten ten. One hundred. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. This will all become zero if you guys don't practice it in the home.
Okay?
Some people saying 9.99. Science students, Max students. Okay? Fully artistic. Go and learn it.
Okay?
And also give me one favor. Give me a best star rating so that it also helps our brand to grow. Because I need to also teach to a lot of students like you, right? For that I need a support of you. Just give me your harness rating. Guys. If you're totally not satisfied, some people are rating four. That's okay. Do it. It's your freedom. But tell me how I can make it 5. Because Trustpilot is AI platform. If I'm not taking action for the 4 star rating, what will happen? You know, the brand value comes down and I'll personally reach out to you. Hey, one person has put four.
Okay?
Just hey, you tell me what else I can improve. So what should I make it to make it five? No Jagdish. I like the class. But just like that I put four. Don't do like this, guys.
Okay?
If you feel it's good, do it. If you feel honestly bad, then you put it. Then I'll come back to you, get the feedback. Once you're happy, change the rating. Because trustpilot is not a joke. It's not a Google review. Everybody go and review. Trustpilot will remove the fake reviews and other things.
Okay?
And also please go and mark your attendance. Get points. I've already given you attendance. Please go and mark. Yes. Entropy. Sameer is getting it. Sameer, you are on the way to get it. You are on the way to get it. 80%. You are there. Still 100 is required. Okay, good, good. Practice more of that. You will definitely get to the point where people will not be able to question what did you really create. And then when you're explaining your screen, you will not just see, you will not just explain the function, this, that and all. You will explain. The user who is going to use this has a mindset of this kind of a artistic nature, this kind of a harmonious rhythmic balance in his mindset. Always the moment when he opens this particular application and start using our products, he will automatically get rhythm harmonized with this. And our design exactly creates that. And this color also really blends with that. And the next screen also continues this flow so that you are building exactly like a music. When you're explaining the concept to the people, then people will never reject your colors or composition or any designs in your organization. Because artists don't know how to justify their work. But you as a designers have to know how it is going to solve the user's problem by exactly using this kind of a harmony, rhythm and all. The moment when you do it automatically, people will get an attraction. Yes, it exactly communicates to them. Yes, it exactly communicates. What you call this. This harmony, this entropy and all. Okay, Bharati. Bharati.
Okay. Okay.
Better, I would say compared to the earlier one. But still you can still find. You can still find more. Bharati. Okay, send it to me, guys. 100 images in harmony, entropy, rhythm. I'll correct you. Not a problem. But the more and more you correct yourself, only you. You guys are going to explore and learn more. Or else this is not a topic where yes, no can be given immediately. See, one guy has confused me. The steamy bus. Still I'm not able to find out whether it's perfectly balanced symmetry. I mean, where is that image? Where is that entropy? But anyway, I'll come back to this. Sriniva, send it to me in WhatsApp.
Okay? Yes.
So think about that. Surely you will get to this flow okay. There's three topics. Remember that coming Saturday, Friday, Sunday, Monday, you're going to have something even extraordinary and particularly Monday is going to be a blast. Monday is going to be the complete. All the dots are connecting in the Monday guys.
Okay.
Whatever you've been learning in aesthetics does itself feel like dots are connecting? No, this, the, the big part of the dot is still not connected. I'll connect with you.
Okay.
Aishwarya, that's Auroville, right? I've been in Auroville for one year here. It's a beautiful place. Beautiful. I've been in that green belt. It's a beautiful zone. Okay, good, good at that dome.
Actually every day my office was just exactly near that.
Oh, you're staying in Pondicherry?
No, no, I was in Pondicherry.
Okay, okay, okay.
I was in Auroville. Yeah.
Okay.
Okay. I was Auroville volunteer. Me and my wife, we, after our marriage we went and stayed there for a couple of months and it went up to one year we stayed there. It was a very good experience. Actually. Auroville, you'll have to go and serve. I mean they won't give you money or they'll give you money, food, all these things will be there. But you'll have to serve. You'll have to go and serve. With the mindset of serving, serving, serving mother and Sri Aurobindo has built that beautiful place. You guys have to go and understand that. It's a beautiful architecture. People like architect background has to particularly work very, very sustainable life approach. Yes, yes, yes. There is something called solar kitchen.
Okay. Oh my God.
That was my dietary thing.
So the beauty about this is Auroville self sustain by. By growing the plants and vegetables inside the Auroville boundary and then they cooks inside that and serves to the community there. It's a community again.
Okay.
So you will see all of this red rice, this, this militarized and everything inside. And it's all grown inside. They are not dependent on other people power. They are also generating their own power. Education inside Auroville is divided into four sectors. It's a beautiful concept. Please go and read about it. You'll meet lot of artists, you'll meet a lot of eccentric people there like me. I will not call eccentric. I will call the. You guys will really meet eccentric people when you go inside. Then you will understand.
Okay.
Community driven.
Yeah.
Many people are giving the link to Sharad.
Thank you. Okay.
Matriman, go and visit this doom. It's a very interesting black hole. It's like A black hole. We don't know what's there inside.
Okay.
So go and learn inside the Matriman. That's another interesting place. But please don't forget to rate ourselves.
Guys.
I will be very particular on that.
Okay?
Because this has to meet our purpose. Also. We have to spread to a lot of people, right? Please guys. Thank you.
Yes, yes.
Fine. But I also enjoy the images what you guys are putting. For sure there is no doubt. But stay in the Auroville. You will feel rhythm, harmony, more than just reading this as a text.
Okay?
And you guys can also go to a place called. There is another place near this Pondicherry. It was actually some mangrove forest. What is the name? I forgot the name. Exactly. It's a beautiful place. You guys can see the wildlife as well as the bird sanctuary. You guys can see the nature. Lot of balance.
You will find you have a famous movie.
Yeah, that shooting was exactly taken there. Perfect.
Perfect.
Isn't it today the last day of the internship submission? Yes. Shashank, you forget that you are swimming in rhythm, harmony and entropy. Your life is going to be entropy if you're not submitting the assignment today. Okay. To participate in the internship. So I am kind of. Got it. Got it. Fine. Guys, continue the session. Because still there is three more hours left for you guys to complete the assignment. Even if you start now, in three hours, you can still make a meaningful output. Do it. Definitely. It's going to be a. What you call a great learning from here. Also you can bring the. You can bring the user flow. Poojita asked for user flow, right? Build the user flow. With this concept. You guys will build it even more better. Do it.
Okay.
This attendance is already given. Guys, go and mark. Oh Meghna, I have to give you manual. Meghna, are you getting it or not? Meghna, we checked at our back end here. Something is off with your system.
I'm not getting. I'm screen recording that for you.
I already asked you because our backend team has communicated. And I've also told them that you're not able to get it.
Okay?
Make nice a special student.
Okay.
Mark your attendance, guys.
Fast. Okay. Yep, yep, yep.
We are going to conclude this call. It's going to end now. Make sure you're marking that.
Okay?
Hey guys. And one more information. Finally, finally, finally, finally. Before we close off, hey, tomorrow evening, six o' clock we have a session.
Okay.
See, this is for the other people who are outside our community. But for the people who are looking to upgrade to our job, special like let's say provided. If you have a skills again, don't come prematurely. There is one video which we have created. Okay, go and watch that video first before you take a decision. Because many people are having skills ready. But they needed exactly the job support. This is the last day to jump on. We are having the best prices of this entire year. We call it as a final Friday. We wanted to close this deal because a lot of people have asked me in person, Jagdish, why don't you give a best scholarship? Scholarship. Scholarship. We've gone beyond our prices, guys. In in the lifetime, you will not see these prices from the January start. Even after the Sunday start, the prices will be increasing. Maybe if you're bringing your friends also, please do ask them to come and join here. And I'll tell you. You guys are also going to get referral bonus. If you guys are referring your friends, please tell me. We are actually making it a system to do the affiliate. But right now you just have to tell me manually. Many of the people have waived their second half of the fees by referring two to three friends. How many of you want to lower their burden? You guys have to pay the half, right? When you're in the job special. Many people have referred three friends. Their half of the fees is waived. Literally. And at least 50% portion of the fees is waived. Because I. I would request you to invest on your education. Please don't go and buy some dresses, okay? Invest in LinkedIn Premium, invest in Chat GPT when you're getting referral bonus. In this program, we have given people up to thousand, two thousand, three thousand. Some of the people have even got ten thousand, fifteen thousand and free education as well. We're referring a lot of people, okay? Because they did not have the money. But they referred three, four people. We gave them free education. It's okay, fine. But the point here is spread the word to the other people. But tomorrow is a great day. And tomorrow is going to be a Q a first evening, 6 o' clock to 7 o'.
Clock.
Ask them to attend the Q A. If you guys are thinking about job special. So come and attend that. Think about whether you needed that program or not. Don't go and just invest in some offer. If you feel that is good for you. Then Saturday we will be giving the full day time to make for the decision.
Okay?
Yes, Kanda, you can leave. People are already in the job special. You guys can talk to them and let them know. Like me. Ask them what are the benefits they are getting. They'll be getting support till they get three offers. But in the basic level program we can't do that.
Can you send a link?
Yeah, you can. Where do I send the link? I'll send you separately here.
Okay.
I'll send you in this group. Is it okay? You guys have to join in one WhatsApp group there. The link will be put for the zoom tomorrow.
Okay.
Watch it first. Get educated yourself properly. Ask your friends also to come first.
Okay.
Let them take a decision. If money, money, money. They're saying as a problem use this as a last opportunity. That's it. Or else it will become a lost opportunity. L. Okay. Ask them to use it. Okay. Let me send you that. What you call link guys. Just wait for one second before you leave the call. Yes. Use this link.
