Welcome to this particular day three. In this particular set of videos we are seeing how to target the right industries, how to find out which is the dream industry for you and how to exactly match with your interest, your passion and your dream an impulsive decision. There is a process, there is a structure, there is a framework to do it. That's what you're going to learn in this video. Okay, so let's jump in. Day one, what we saw about introduction of the strategic industry targeting. Okay. Day two, we have talked about how to research about the industries. There are particular techniques, there are particular sites and statistical tools how you can able to analyze which companies are doing good, which companies are really striving and what are the trend happening and how you can exactly match them. But the day three is going to be a little special. Identifying the key companies which is matching your opportunities and value system. I wanted you to give an activity now this video. Do it and then come back here. Take a pen and paper. Write about what are the dream lifestyle you want. Write about what are the dream job are you looking for? What is the work culture are you looking for? What is the reporting structure or the boss or the subordinate or the people in mind? What are the training and support system and the mentoring and guidance which you're looking for? What would be the work space in your organization or in your design studio? What are the kind of growth you wanted to see in that company yourself in the next three years? What kind of organization it is in terms of valuing the work life balance you want? What kind of a people valued organization like let's say they are more focused towards employee benefit and improvement and providing the great value for them. I worked in a TAFE organization. It was very, very good in terms of personal development. TAFE is one of the best organization for work culture and ethics and management. And I have transformed myself over there. Not a lot of people get to choose this kind of an organization, okay? But you can choose it using this method. Write down the seven things clearly so that we can first understand what is your real expectation towards a dream job. I want a Google job. I want an Apple job. I want a Microsoft job. It's all fine guys, but write it down what you want. Let me understand what is your reality. Okay, great. So now let's come back to the session. A lot of people would have written I want this much salary, I want this much location, I want this much workspace, I want this kind of a bar. It's all fine, guys. There are a good side, there are a Bad side. But I wanted you to stay in neutral and understand both perspectives. This is your expectation. Okay? It is nothing right or wrong here but let's see how it is going to match with the real industry now. Okay, so identifying the key components. There are many criterias to select this industries Guys, criteria for selecting the target industry should be based on size, should be based on culture, should be based on the growth potential, alignment with your personal value. Going for a work to fulfill our value. We are not going for our work for the salary. We are not just going for the work for anything else. We are just fulfilling our highest value.
Okay?
So think about next three to five years. What is this company going to perform? And also understand and take the data the past five years, how they performed and what are the ethics and code of honor. What are the value system Based on this, you can create one format for you see, inside my community, inside the students whom I'm working with them closely, I have a very structured format. There are 13 to 15 different parameters I have under measure in order to write down the company and evaluate them Based on that, they will choose which industry is suitable for them. Okay, I've just given you a nugget there. But it's a very detailed process. You cannot do it just like impulsively. There needs to be a structure and a framework. Is it okay to spend time with that? I'm a designer, I have to learn Figma. It's fine guys. Skill sets is 20 percentage. Finding out the right industries, aligning your mindset and attitude and skill set towards them is 80 percentage. If you have this proper, even if you don't have that much skill set, people will hire you. Please come to the reality. This is what is the reality. People value your fitness more than your skill sets first, okay? Then they'll talk about the skills and everything which you can develop. There are many videos which you have recorded in this particular channel for skill set perspective, all these things, this is majorly important.
Okay?
So list your top companies, whatever you want. Like let's say ideo, Frog, Google. Please write why it is very suitable for you. Please write based on the value system, what you've written, what the dream job, what you've written, how it is matching them. Okay, I'm going to give a live activity for you also. But just wait on.
Okay?
So make sure the location, the salary, the training and support system, the work environment, the work life balance, the benefits, what they're giving, everything is matching you or not. Write it down. So this is the point. Let me give you one statistics guys, which is very, very shocking. 77% of the job seekers consider company value culture before applying. Interesting, right? 70% don't get appreciated. Why people switch careers? It's because of this. People are not switching career for salary. Salary is a very very third thing. The first thing is 70 percentage people don't get appreciated and they misfit in their values. 20 percentage people don't like their bosses. This is the statistics. This is exactly what is happening. Remaining is only salary. All these things. So come back to the reality. Numbers tell stories to us. Numbers will not lie. Maybe I will lie. Numbers and statistics will not lie. So understand guys, why I'm talking about deeply in this particular video is because of this point. You need to get this clarity. Yes. So now having understood this, how do you prepare this? How do you qualify this industries? How do you create a process around it? Let me show you. You have to evaluate company culture and values. How to do it? There are only three different ways to do it. You can read about the online reviews. What is this company really saying? I'll create a very separate node also so that you will know clearly how to do it. Inside my community I have this 13 parameter Excel sheet. Maybe if you're commenting in this video, what is your dream company? What is your value system organization? If I see your comment that you're very seriously looking for it, maybe I can give as a gift for you. It's not for everybody who are watching. It's only for the gift people who take action. Because I like only action takers. Whether you do right or wrong, that's up to you. That's. That's not a big material. That's not a big part at all. We all make mistakes and we learn. That's it. That's how it is. We as a human, we evolved by making mistakes and we have grown. So make mistake. Write down what is your organization. Write down what is your value system? What is what is your list of dream companies? Match them. If I see that you are very seriously posting your comments, I'll share that gift with you guys. Do not worry. It will come into your email. And then you can also find out using online method online reviews.
Okay.
You can find out using networking strategy. You can talk to different, different people. You can talk to people like this is what is really, really happening. And also company research which I'm going to show you in the next. This is how you exactly gather the information. It is not available in the Google search or ChatGPT search. Guys, it will give you generic views. But you need to understand this is the reality. When you talk to employees, you will know the reality. This place is really, really work pressure. It's not a product based company, it's a service based company, It's a consulting company. The business nature is very different. The deliverables are very different. The pressure will be very different. So you will have to know very clearly after talking to the employees. This is most important. So find out the companies with the strong cultures like what you're really dreaming of and find out the impact on its employee satisfaction because this is more and more important. You can use Glassdoor, you can find out a lot of people, you can find out more quality people to network in LinkedIn and Glassdoor and you can get this data from them. And then you will have much more clarity on how you're going to go forward. Now there are many industries tools which I wanted to suggest to you guys because you have to know, even without talking to the people, many patterns and trends and statistics, you can find out about the industry.
Okay?
IBISWorld, this is a very beautiful website. It provides comprehensive industry report, market research and economic data. Actually it is very useful for finding out the industry trends, market size and competitive landscaping. This is very, very important because when you evaluate a company, you need to get this data. Marketresearch.com, one of the favorite I would say this is one of the beautiful, okay. Offers a wide range of market research reports across various industries. If you're looking for logistics, if you're looking for hospital for healthcare, find the strengths there, you can forecast the trend. Let's say if you're looking for a AI organization, okay, you wanted to use your design skills for AI, data science or something. You can find out the forecast of the trend, what is going to happen in the future and then you can find out competitive intelligence, how people are able to penetrate this market. And using that you can formulate your job strategy, job search strategy accordingly. Euromonitor International. It specializes in global market research, analysis and consumer insights. It covers the trend, market size, market share. If you're working for an organization, you should be well versed with their product portfolio. What happens if you don't understand their product portfolio? You will not find a big difference in that organization. You will just work for an employee. You will work like an employee or a laborer. That's not the mindset which you have to have. You need to have a lead. You need to take that lead and understand, hey, this is the product which I'm designing Hey, this product is going with this customer. This customer is going to touch point this with this. This is what is the client who is going to give this product to them. The client is charging this much for this work. My employees are charged this much. I am paid this much. So the entire value system needs to be understood by you very carefully. If you understand that, only you can able to go and play a big role there. That's how you become product managers. That's how you crack 20, 30, 40 LPAs and grow more. How many of you bulb on type out in the chat Ball Bond Jagdish. I never thought this. This is the first time I'm hearing a topic like this. Maybe as a designer I was just sitting and making some buttons. That's okay. Let's think about this. If you are understanding the value system and the value chain about the organization and the product and the service, what you're designing, the website or app or a graphics or post or thumbnails or whatever, if you understand how it is going into the value system and how the money rotation is happening, then only you can elevate your level then and only you can ask for 3x5x very easily. If you're working with me, my students, let me show you some case studies. Also people aim for 3x and 2x directly. I don't work for 30 percentage 40%. That's not the method because you're directly touching the value system there. It's very, very natural and normal to have that kind of salaries. Okay, so Nielsen Norman Group this is another tool. It is very useful for understanding consumer preference and purchasing factors. Because guys, this is more relating to ux, all the ui, UX chat and particularly people satisfaction, overall design process. Everything you can able to find here. If you're a designer, if you wanted to take more statistics, this is the ideal website and how accessible it is. And it's very useful for consumer preference and purchasing factors.
Okay.
Particularly online purchase and everything. Gartner one of the beautiful amazing research, quality research they have. They focus on technology insights and they provide digital product design also UX design also you can able to find out more information there. Okay, Forester Research. You can find out customer experience, market trend and you can also understand the impact of technology over there. So you don't have to use everything else. You can use whatever is required. PU Research center to be honest, I've also not tried that but you can try. I. I came to know from a very trustable source that this is really working good and particularly people Are UX researchers can do this. It is like a demographic kind of a research whatever they're having.
Okay?
It helps you understand the broader societal trends and impact how it is can create using the design.
Okay.
You can read Gallup surveys and report. So these are all the information which is available for you guys.
Okay.
I hope this would have given you some clarity. But the whole point is unless until you don't understand, I'm really sorry guys here. Unless until you don't understand what are the value system you'll be randomly applying in LinkedIn. Apply. Do you think you will get job? If you apply for 100 jobs, you will get 95 rejections. They will evaluate and they'll tell you you are not suitable. That's what they say. Okay? They don't tell you are rejected for this this reasons. Nobody has that time. People will tell you will come back. They'll not come back. If you apply 25 industries, you will get at least 15 to 20 interview calls. Then a different process you need to take up. Okay, so 85% of the jobs are filled through networking. And let me tell you one success story guys. One of the student who got 10.5 extensive research. He's an Accenture. He did an extensive research using that Excel sheet. Another student who got 15 LPA, she did extensive research using that Excel sheet. So it's not a random process. If it's a random process then people will not get clarity. People will not understand what is really suitable for me and which is not suitable for me. People will not understand how to even approach the next steps. I'm just giving you an example. There are a lot of stories. There is a guy who got even 28 LPA. It's a mid sized organization. It's like a drone manufacturer or something. So people have really understood and he has exclusively used the power of networking. It's not a random process. Like he did it in a very, very structured way. Meticulously followed the understanding of each and every company, the role and everything. And a lot of people have cracked big, big salaries here just to the example I've told you. But there are lot of people who are working still with me in order to get this. And once their results are there, definitely we'll be uploading it on our YouTube channel based on their performance story. This particular video would have made a big sense for you. If you're not someone who is taking action, please take action. It's not a video to just watch and go first activity. I given you second activity. I'm giving you now which I'll show you. I'll give you activity. First activity is write traits about your job. Is it fine? Write traits about your dream job. The second is you need to build five industries matching your values. That's it. Do these two activities and pin me in this video. Definitely. I'll make sure I'll read each and every comment and I'll reply you and I'll give you feedback and if I see you're very interested I can able to share my gift also Excel sheet with you guys.
Okay?
So take care. I hope this particular video would have given you clarity. If you have not watched the earlier videos, please go and do that. Because once you're watching this first two videos and coming back here and doing the activities. Day four, Day five, Day six, Day seven. It's going to be an amazing game changer for you. If you can get value in these last three videos, you can see how much value you're going to get in the coming videos. Because end of the seventh video you will know clearly how to target the right industries. Okay, so take care guys. All the best. Bye bye.
