Targeting the Right Industries with Passion and Desire- Part 1

That's what we are going to see now. Okay, so in this particular section you will be having some live activities also. Welcome guys. So the first video is going to be understanding who you are as a person. Let me tell you. Take a notepad and pen, okay? Divide it into two columns. Write down what's your passions, what's your desires. You could have five different. Five different. Have five different passion and five different desires.

That's the first activity and I hope you paused the video and did it. If you don't know the difference between passion and desire, passion means it's a little long term. You're thinking about a legacy. You're thinking about very, very high depth, mission and all. Desire is about a short term. Like let's say you wanted to earn some money. You wanted to actually achieve something, okay? Desire, Passion and desire. You have to know the difference for it, okay? And then write down that. Second, you have to write what's your strength, you have to write what's your weakness in terms of skill set, in terms of general, in terms of life, it could be anything, it doesn't matter, okay? Strength, weakness. Write your opportunities where you can really go and find out. And write down the threats which is actually called swot.

SWOT analysis, but we're just writing it down as of now.

What's your threat available? What's your opportunities available? What's your weakness? What's your strength? These four things I hope you would have written that you should not take more than three minutes to write it.

That's what I also teach my students. Three minutes they have to exactly do it. Beyond that, if you think you will not get many answers, you will go into some confusions only.

Force your mind to do that. Next, what we can see is particularly we are going to understand how to target the right industry. Jagdish, what is the connection between passion, desired strength, weakness and targeting industry? It does matter. Whatever you think, whatever you say, whatever you do, it has to be aligned. If you are aligned, only you can maximize your potential in design industry, product design industry, UI UX industry. Because it's already growing in a greater way. If you're not in that field, it could be probably because of this reason. Lot of people think skill is a problem. Skill is only 20%. Lot of people don't know exactly what is their interest and how which industry can match them and how they can move to go and help them. This is the ultimate basic thing which people are lacking. That's what in the seven part video you're going to learn that.

If you have done that activity correctly, now we'll see difference. See why it is very important to choose the right industry. See it is very very crucial right now. Because if you're not aligning your skills with the market needs, you will not have a proper job satisfaction. You will not grow in your career. You'll be working like a donkey. You'll be working like anything. Getting only 30, 40,000 per month in Indian rupees. But you'll not make a big difference. Even if you get 1 lakh, you will not be very happy. Because you have not matched your exact interest passionate design with the right industry. Jagdish, how to find the right industry? I know my passion and desire. Let's come to that. Okay, so there are many things like which you did now. You did passion, you did desire, you did strength, you did weakness. You need opportunities, you need threat which is stopping you. Okay, you did that. So now you must have understood little bit. Okay, what kind of industries I'm good at? Maybe you're good in healthcare. Maybe you're good in sports. Maybe you're good in fitness industries. Maybe you're good in banking and fintech based products and services. That's totally Fine, but align that. Okay, next I will tell you booming industries like UIUX is projected over 13 percentage for the next decade. And it's very in fact Every single year 35 to 40k new openings are created in product design and UI UX design. Lot of people think this field is not having any vacancy. Only experienced people are there. Did you think experienced people jump from the sky? They also became a freshers and they also went into the industry. Right. Please understand, if you're not getting job, if you're in a high frustration, that doesn't mean nobody is going to give you a job. That doesn't mean the market is bad. That doesn't mean freshers are not needed. Can I tell you something? In fact the freshers in the product design and UI UX design are needed more than experienced people because company will have a what you call very low cost on investment for you. And they will also be very getting new perspective from you because you're a fresher. Lot of advantage company has. I've recorded a podcast also. Okay, so the reason why I'm bringing this is you need to remove your insecurity mind then and only you'll see the big difference.

So 85% of the people are unhappy in their job. Gallup statistics and targeting the right industries can significantly improve their job satisfaction. How to do that Jagdish? I'm going to show you guys, just wait. Okay, so let me make it very clear. There are many industries in product design and UI UX design industry if you ask me. In fact there are huge industries. I'm taking few examples like let's say the digital industries or maybe the strategic industries, strategic design industries. And also there are industries like toy and game design, service design system design, innovation design, UK Policy lab. In fact, policy design is also one industry. Currently many countries are working on policy design as well. UK and Germany and India has also started working. But the thing is, it does not come in very high place. But people are already started thinking how a designer can intervene in this kind of an area to create a significant difference, to create a huge impact. People are already started thinking about it. So you have a lot of industries to think about this. Okay, please be very careful. And also you know the 13% increases there, there are many successful designers in the industry. Like let's say Don Norman Paul Rand Graphic Design There are many prominent designers which you may also have as an idol or maybe like a mentors or gurus. That's okay. These people have succeeded in their industries because of the reason. They've exactly found their interest, their passion, their strength and weakness matches with that job description, with that industry. If you are able to do that, you will achieve your financial success very fast. Will achieve your career goals very fast. Maybe you could have an interest like hey Jagdish, I want to start an industry. But don't tell me that by getting into the job I will learn experience, I will earn money and then I'll invest in the business. That's like completely insane. If you want to be a business person, you have to associate with people who are doing successful business and learn from them and improve. Doesn't require. There is no difference between job and business. It's a different thing. And people who say that I wanted to start an industry in the age of 21, even if you ask in the age of 45, they'll still say future, I want to start their industry. Hello Baba, 20 years has already gone. What is future for you at the age of 65? I'll start. That's okay. But at least if he starts, it's fine. But he's not in the right path. Everything starts with this particular activity. What you did, if you wanted to align yourself, what you think, what you talk, what you do, this is the exact activity for you. You can do it. Okay Jagdish, how to find industries. Whether which industry is going to help me or not, that's exactly what I'm going to tell you now.

There are many successful websites like let's say my next move. I'll just tell you how you can do it.

But before that you need to match your strength, your interest with potential industries. And there are many people guys in my program. Recently one of the student, actually she found out what is her industry which is needed by making her do some activities, by making her do some internal retrospection, she found out what is exactly she wants. She wants to work for an ngo. She wants to work for a different organization. She wants to work for women empowerment. So she understood clearly. By her interest, by her passion, by her desire and how to exactly find that. And she's targeting those industries. And you will not, you will, you will be very surprised. These people will find out very, very faster job opportunities than the conventional job search people. What I just told you is very, very important. People don't know this. That is why big salaries are only got by 20% of the designers in India. Out of this 20 percentage, even only 20% get the so high package. Like let's say 20, 50 lpa. 1 crore per annum, 5 crore per annum. There are designers who get even 5 crore per annum in India. Yes, Even more than that, those people are very much aligned with this. That's what is lacking in you. Okay, I believe you'll do it. Now I'll show you another video. I'll show you another tab. Now my next move.

And don't worry, I'll be pasting this link as well. So what do you do for a living? Search your keywords. Video game designers, Commercial industrial designers. Fish and game wardens, Gambling dealers, Special effect artists, animators. So this is a website where you can find a lot of interest and a lot of different field video game designers. Let's go for it. What is this? What do they do? What are the knowledge they want? What are the skills they want? What are the abilities you have to improve? What are the technology they use? What are the personality typically they expect? What are the education qualifications? What are the average salary? Many things is there, right? This is one of the great move. Let's say if you're thinking about what design industry you want to impact, this is one website where you can type your keywords and you can know, okay? Product design, UI UX design, anything you can type. Let's say after that you have to go to this section called industry. What industry you want to impact? Are you working on some construction industry, education industry, healthcare, hotel management? Try to explore all of the sectors, okay? Once if you're able to do it, you'll be very clear. I can go in biomass manufacturing, I can go in chemical plant. As a designer, I can go into cutting and trimmers.

Maybe I can design a cutting tool. Maybe that's my big interest. I can design what you call scissors. I can design hand tools. That's my big interest. So find out your interest, find out the exact industry and find out the sector of what industry we wanted to serve for, okay? Because a lot of people think UI UX is only designing websites and applications. Please come out of this world. You have barely any future. If you think that that's not true. If it's true, at least I'll support you. There are huge industries where the design interest is not yet tapped. You can find your interest also. In fact, these people will have you some test also where you can find your interest. And they'll produce you result and they'll tell you what jobs you can choose.
