Foreign. Welcome guys. Welcome, welcome. Can you hear me? Can you see me? All of you, welcome to the YouTube Live. Thank you guys. Thank you. So I'm super happy that I'm going live after a very long time in the YouTube because we used to do this for a while, like in the sense couple of months before. I just wanted to invite all the people from the community, from the public to participate in this session. Thank you so much guys. And I'm truly, truly gratitude to organize this again through our community members and also the encouragement which I got from some of the facilitators, our neighbor people. Okay, so thank you so much guys. I wanted to tell you that this is a open house called DFC Open house. I'll tell you what is this session all about? Okay, so how many of you are attending this session live for the first time? Type 1 in the chat box. Okay. How many of you are attending this session for the first time? Type 1. In fact, I wanted to ask the people who are in the public who are watching this session. Okay. A lot of people might be watching this session on the online in our YouTube channel. I think some of our community members are also there in this call. Okay, so this is a call which we are going to have every Friday, 8pm Guys. Okay, so there is no. I just wanted to tell you that this call is for the quick celebration of our community. Second is to give you an update about a topic like let's say whatever is trending in the design. And the third is mainly to give you a competition. How many of you are ready? How many of you are ready to participate? In fact, it's open for all the people. Okay, so all of you, can you just take your notepad, pens and get ready for the session Because I want to give you a quick activity visit. Activity will be going inside. Okay, Superb, superb. Can I get that commitment from you? Can we, can we start based on that? Superb. Great, great, great. 30 seconds. Okay. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Good, good, good. Okay, okay. Yes, yes. So this is a very, very interesting activity for, for that I just need your. I would say smartphone is also required for that. Okay, superb. Pen, notepad and a smartphone. That's a three things are only required if you have taken all these things and then you are ready. Type ready in the chat box. Yes, yes, yes. Type ready in the chat box. If you have done with these things and then you are ready to start. Okay, great, great, great. Superb, superb. Thank you so much. Yes. So now we will start the show. And first I would say today is episode One. Okay, I'll give you the main context also for this episode. One what we're really trying to do. So this is like. Okay, let me reveal it for you so that you will be having that, what do you call, clarity towards what needs to be done. Okay? So all of you, can you please confirm me that my screen is visible? Okay, confirm me that my screen is visible. Just a second. Just a second. Is my screen visible? Super. So the code of honor of this call is no self promotions allowed, guys. I know many of the people are watching it from the online YouTube stream and more people are going to also watch this stream once it is done live. Okay? So please use this space chat and everything for only doing design related communication. Okay? Design related communication. I hope you will respect the code of honor. Thank you. And the goal of this main session is to hear all of your feedbacks and also to celebrate the winners. In fact, that's the two main agenda and goal for this call. Third, this particular open house will happen every Friday at 8pm okay? This is a 20 to 30 minutes call, not more than that. Okay? Maximum it will be like 15 to 20 minutes. I just want to make it clear as well, this is not a detailed teaching session. This is a very different thing. Okay? And moreover, after the session is done, I'll also ask you certain ideas like let's say how else you can also contribute to this Design for Change program by giving some ideas, by giving fruitful information. And also you can also give us more suggestions how to improve our webinars or how to change. Or maybe if you need any topic, even our community members can also voice out. Okay? I just want to keep it like an open forum for design as a career in shell. Okay, Just a second. Just a. Okay. Super. And more importantly, I wanted to tell you that the activity which is a first episode, okay, I'll tell you each and every episode. We have a different, different format, guys. Every Friday we're going to come up with something new. Okay. I also wanted to call this as an innovative space. Why? Because some of the weeks I may do a podcast. Some of the weeks I may do an open sketching competition. Some of the days I may even pick up a random person and do a hot seat. Today I'm going to do that. Okay? There is a. There is an activity also for that which I'll do it particularly in this first episode. Okay. It will be a very mix of things. Okay. Hot seat. But apart from the hot seat, I just wanted to tell you in today's session, we Are going to do something called shapes. How many of you know what is mean by shapes? All of you type shapes in the chat box. What are the shapes? Jagdish. Okay, I'll tell you what are the shapes. So as of now, let's keep this. What do you call the celebration winner and the things third. Okay. First, let us have only shapes, okay? So listen and observe carefully. I wanted you guys to look around your entire space, what you're having in your home or office or whatever, wherever you are, really. Or maybe you would be even traveling. No problem. It doesn't matter. Okay? Look around the things and try to take the shapes out of it. Can I give you an example? Can I give you an example? This is a shape of circle. This is a shape. But this is not a shape. This is not a shape. This is organic shape, right? You cannot call this as a proper shape. And you cannot call this also as a shape toy. Okay? You cannot call this as a shape. This is like a Volkswagen vehicle. That's it. There is no shape here. Maybe if you look at it very in a micro level. Yes. The wheels are in a perfect circle shape. Shape means shape. Very simple. Okay? Don't. Don't reinvent something and then come back. So what I wanted you guys to do is just. Just observe the things which is around you and take your smartphones and go ahead and take pictures of each and everything which is having a square, circle, triangle. It should not be like a half triangle and all. Then you name it. You have a name like, let's say rhombus, trapezoid, parallelogram, whatever that you call. But I want shapes to be like a shapes. Are all of you clear? So I'll tell you the intention behind this activity. Many designers are now just gazing out things. They don't pay close attention to anything, right? They are like in the fast moving. I want to make portfolio. I want to get a job. So people are already in that. I don't know, like this oscillation. I wanted you guys to just stay calm and observe the designs around you. Are all of you clear? Is it a simple activity? Okay, I'll give you one more example. I'll give you another example. Observe carefully what I'm doing. Okay? I take this scissor. Okay? So in this scissor, when you just look at this particular small part, actually there is a. There is a line which is available here. Okay? There is a line available here. And this particular area forms a small box. The joining mechanism of a scissor. When you look at it very carefully. That is a shape of square, Right? And more importantly, when I took at this like this is another round shape. Super round shape. It should be a perfect shape. So I'll give you exactly 3 minutes time as much as possible. Let us observe who is picking up maximum shapes from your place. You can little bit more around. Again, keep your camera on. Little bit more around. But take certain objects. Take a picture and just mark it. Take a picture and just mark it. There is a tool called marking, right? You can just mark it and you can just throw it in the chat box from your WhatsApp. No problem. Okay. Let us see how many of you are able to bring a lot of pictures. Maybe in the three. Three to five minutes. Is it fine? Five minutes. Is it okay for you? I'll switch on the timer. Everybody will be able to see my timer in the screen. Okay. Should I repeat this activity? Is everybody clear? Should I repeat this activity for all the people in the in the online space as well? Okay. Yes. Yes. Yes. Many people are also watching in the online. Let me know. Guys. Satya Narayanan. Okay. Okay. Disgusting. Sir, we are all repeating same thing. No, we are not repeating same thing. This is the first time we are doing this. Did we do this anywhere before? No. Okay. This is the first time we are doing Super. You guys can be in the zoom call. Wonderful. Great. And any other clarification. I think people are asking for doubts. Wait one second. Shapes. See, Listen to this. Shapes means anything is shaped. Guys, I'll explain you one more time. This is like a. This is not exactly a perfect square. Because there is a radius here. Okay. I'll show you a perfect circle. This is also. This is like a oval. Probably you can take a oval. But again, this is also not a perfect oval. Okay. Observe very carefully. What is a perfect shape? Like I told you, this example for this bottle. This is a perfect circle. I wanted you guys to take this kind of a shapes. Superb. Yes. I'm going to now switch on the timer. Let us see how many objects you are able to scan through in your home. People who are doing maximum, they'll be recognized and they'll be given points. Because we are going to pick the winners as well today. Your time starts now. Can you see my timer? Yeah. Yes. Four minutes left. Let us see how many people. Just document it as a one file and send it. No problem. Okay. How many shapes? Shapes. Let us see the sensitivity of a designer through this activity. Let us observe. Let us see. Or character table, utensils, stationery. The keychain the ring. Each and every products around you. Don't leave anything. Even the micro shapes are shapes. But it has to be a perfect shape. Okay, go ahead, go ahead. Three and a half minutes. Good. Excellent. Thank you. Many people have already started posting, but. But wait for. Just do this activity fully and then finally push. That will be better. Good, good, good. Let me give you one hack. Let me give you one hack. Can I give you that? In the last two minutes, will you pump up more? Okay, I'll give you 30 seconds. 30 seconds more. Two and a half. Listen carefully. Okay, now close your one eyes and look at each and every object. I'll repeat it one more time for any complex aggregated products. Okay, Close your eyes and look at it very sharply. Like, let's say like this. You can find the hidden shapes inside that. In one object itself you can check multiple shapes. Like when you have an illustrator or a what you call a transparent layer, you can mark those shapes actually in a zoomed out view. But right now, take a picture, zoom it and just see it. You can increase your count. Good. Two minutes left. Try to take more now. Circle, square, triangle, trapezoid. Let us understand more, more, more. Just document it as a one document and then send it. Let us see how many you guys have filled. Do it, do it, do. Sir, you are on mute. I'm really. Sir, I'm sorry, I'm just asking you to document it. That's it. Okay, I'm creating a post for you. I'll tell you where to post. Okay, thank you, thank you, thank you for inviting out. Okay. Yeah, I hope everybody would have done. Just document it. I'll send you the post where you have to post it. Okay? Okay, ready? Done. Okay. Anita Pandey. Good, good, good. Save it, save it. Wait, wait, wait. I will tell you where to post. Okay? Just wait. Okay, all of you done. Can I just show it to you where exactly you have to post based on that? And I'm going to see all of you open your hero session. Okay? And post your pictures and put down 1, 2, 3, 4. What are the shapes you took in that particular object? Your visual communication has to be superb. Okay? So post your pictures of the shapes in the in here for me to see who has taken maximum pictures and shapes. Let us understand, okay? For the people who are watching in YouTube live stream, just put in the chat box your pictures. Let me see that. Okay. And also you can just mention the object and mention the shape. Maybe I can give you the count. 1, 2, 3, 4. Okay, superb. You Go to the hero session. You see my post and then you create your own post and let me analyze. But thank you so much appreciating all the people. Mpty, I wanted to quickly tell you. See, this is not a super duper activity and all. Okay. But I just want to tell you that your observation skills are very important. How many of you did not observe this before? Eye to detail. Tomorrow you can only design your composition. Beautiful. In design only you have this eye to detail. There is something called form. You can only evolve a form to build your graphics. Or maybe a physical product. Only when your eye to detail is very high, you can able to build the form. Okay. There is a thing called addition. There is a thing called subtraction. How many of you don't know these words? When you add something on top of a circle, it becomes a very different organic shape. When you put a circle next to the circle, it becomes like an eight. It's like a dumble shape. When you add a rectangle to it, it actually becomes like a. What do you call it? I don't know. Like this amoeba. Separation. Right? Everything. What the nature has produced as a shapes. We have all seen that the people who are creating beautiful cars, architectures, graphics, layout, portfolios. Amazing stunning visuals. Everything is made up of small, small shapes. Everything is made up of very, very elementary things. And when you add it, when you subtract it, when you multiply it, you tend to form a composition. Super. This is what you develop when you build things. As a designer, this is the most important skill. When you develop your ability towards placing the components or placing the objects as the shapes inside A grid that becomes aesthetics. This is the ultimate pillar of an aesthetics. How many of you understood this activity? Type U in the chat box. Yes, Jagdish, I understood this activity. You cannot make stunning visuals without understanding this. Hey, I will make some portfolio npms, boss. First you need to come here and observe what exactly is the basic elementary shapes, what you're trying to build and how a shape is beautiful. Sharp corners perceive a different organic. Sharp corner perceives a different aesthetics. Radius corner perceives a different aesthetics. It evokes a different emotion. Sharp corners feel like it's a very strict. It's a classical brand. It's like a timeless brand. Rounded corner makes it futuristic, safe, user friendly. I'm connected with you. I'm emotionally attached. You can see Apple are rounded corners. It's all radius, simple radius. The shapes what you circled. Microsoft has a sharp corners. Have you seen? They're like more official office products. I want to be there, right? It's all simple squares and rectangles. So this is the ultimate shapes of our whole universe. Superb. Done. Did all of you enjoy this activity? Superb guys. Thank you so much. And this is a small detail for this session. And now let us conclude this session by announcing the weekly winners. Okay? Because we'll not have hot seat because it's already time. So so next week we will do a little bit of hot seat with the public and some of our Silver members sometimes don't get the hot seat. So our community members also said that sir, why don't we give this opportunity for silver members to get one one hot seat with you. Okay? So that is also we will do it in the upcoming Friday. There is a heavy competition between two people. Okay. One is Dasari and then is Remo and then Deepti. Okay. Actually Deepti is way behind. So what I would say is Dasari and Remo are in the close competition. I would highly, highly Think about how is this two guys really, really active in the last week. I'll not only consider points. Okay? Of course Dasari is leading. Let us observe the participation in the last one week. Yes, both of them are participating. Superb. Let us observe their one to one readiness. Dasari got the one to one. Superb. Remo is still pending. Let us observe their participation in this live call. Of course, Dasari has made superb. Let us observe the facilitation.
