I spent $100,000 on Online Courses (HONEST REVIEW)

In this YouTube video, Jacob Morgan, a dog‑training business owner, reviews the roughly £100k he has spent on business education over the past five years. He frames the video for established dog trainers aiming to scale to about £20,000 a month and warns beginners to master their craft first. He walks through each major investment, stating the cost, what was learned, and a personal ROI rating. The first investment was a £1,500 email‑marketing course (7/10) that kick‑started backend sales. Next, a £5k six‑month digital‑marketing program (7.5/10) helped the business hit its first £50k month. He then spent about £8k on Ed Lawrence’s YouTube training, which he rates 9.5/10 and credits for evergreen video revenue and rapid subscriber growth. A $12k “online growth” program turned out to be a scam (0/10) with no usable content and poor support. After that, a $25k webinar training (9.5/10) generated close to $1 million in webinar revenue and pushed the company past the £100k‑a‑month threshold. Finally, he hired Jeremy Haynes for paid‑ads management at $10k per month (year contract), which added roughly £100k a month in revenue within a few months (10/10). He concludes that, despite one disastrous purchase, the education investments have been essential to scaling the business, and he offers a mentorship program that repurposes these lessons for other dog trainers. The video ends with a call to action to subscribe and a link to the mentorship.

I have spent £100,000 on my business education over the last five years. Some of it was worth every single penny, some of it was a straight up waste of money and one of them was a total scam. And in today's video I'm going to tell you exactly which was which. Before we get into it, quick disclaimer. This channel is for dog trainers who want to grow and scale their business. Typically single operators or small teams that want to hit that 20,000 pound a month mark, which is around 40,000 Australian dollars and thousand USD. This channel is not for people who are not yet established dog trainers. If you can't yet solve people's problems and you can't yet do the job, this isn't for you. And you can go to my other channel or click the link in the description and check out our dog trainer development program. Until you get good at the craft, you shouldn't be thinking about making any sort of money until you can deliver results. Now let's get into it. Once upon a time I knew I wanted to grow my business, but I had no idea on what I was doing. Email marketing, sales funnels, building out offers, it was all completely alien to me. And today my company consistently turns over six figures a month. This is the story of the educational investments that got me from there to here. Okay, so this was the first real investment in like my business education maybe three or four years ago. There's actually a very well known pt. It covered really content, landing pages and email marketing. For me at that time, 1500 pound was a substantial investment, but it definitely paid its dividends. It gave us a bit of a kick. We started email marketing off the back end of it and we saw some real growth. It created some new avenues of income. But looking back there was a lot missing and my knowledge has since developed. But from where we were at the time, maybe at like the 10k a month mark, it was a worthwhile investment and I'm happy I did it. Overall, probably give it a 7 out of 10 good return on investment. Okay, so the next one was a digital marketing program. I believe it was 5k for 6 months of support. It was pretty good. We took a couple of things from it. It helped us dip our toe into paid advertisement, but probably not to the point we wanted to. To be fair to the guy, I do believe we hit like our first 50,000 pound month off the back end of his help. But you know, there were other things that contributed to that as well. We had a big online following for that time and we were just making some small mistakes and he helped us pull a lever here and there to better our use of our audience. Again, nothing really bad to say about it. There was some bits missing compared to what I know now. But I definitely made my return on investment exponen to be fair. So let's give this one a 7.5 out of 10. Okay. So at this point I knew I wanted to get into YouTube. I saw a couple of people in our space really hammering it and I knew it was the future. It's an evergreen system. Some of the videos that we make even like that are almost a year old are still bringing revenue into the business. You know, an Instagram that is a year old is, is, is essentially dead. Long format content is for education, short format content is for dopamine. And up until this point I'd pay two people to help my business grow. And each time it had this K effect. So we decided to take a leap of faith and find someone to help with YouTube. And we did Ed Lawrence's program. I believe at the time it cost around eight grand and bar one, this was the best return on investment I have ever made. It was very, very good. The curriculum was so good I didn't even feel like I needed the one to one support. And I knew exactly what to do. Taking YouTube seriously was one of the biggest needle movers in the trajectory of our business. I believe on our other channel we're just shy of a.000 subscribers now. Hopefully by the time you're watching it we've got that silver play button. And I believe one subscriber on YouTube is worth 10 followers on Instagram because of the level of intent. Verdict for that one was 9.5 out of 10. All right. This is where things went wrong. We invested I believe around $12,000 in a program that was supposed to teach me how to grow the online side of our business. Big promises were made. A crazy money back guarantee that no one would ever qualify for an aggressive contract. And I fell for line and sinker. The course curriculum was dog. And I'm truly saying this. It was the first time we had been burnt. This person was taking very simple concepts and making them feel so overcomplicated. 3 to 4 hour long tutorials just loom after loom after loom in this like fucking monotonous voice going through documents and just not getting anywhere. It was stuff we already knew made even more complicated with crazy metaphorical examples that didn't even fucking line up. I, I tried to attend four coaching calls and not One coach was ever fucking there. Like they literally just didn't show up. And that was the craziest thing. And I had an epiphany. The money back guarantee was conditional on completing the course, but the course was like 3,000 hours long. It was impossible to complete. And if you've been in the online space, you probably know who I'm talking about. It was a complete waste of money. I didn't ask for a refund. I took the accountability. I fell for it. Lessons learned. Verdict 0 out of 10 a scam. So at this point, our business was consistently doing around like the 100k a month mark. I wanted to kick things on again. And I started hearing more and more about webinars. I was hesitant after getting my fingers burnt, but I also knew learning how to conduct one to many pitches was the next step. And this was the most money I had actually ever spent on education. I believe it was $25,000 to learn how to do webinars. But I backed myself. I was confident I could make the money back. I wasn't gon let a couple of burnt fingers stop me from educating myself in business. And to be fair, it was an amazing return on investment. It was actually with John Pemberthy's ad clients like shout out to him. And this is what allowed us to finally send us north of that 100k a month mark. Consistently. I did like two modules out of the entire program, like planning a webinar and delivering a webinar and that's all I needed. I sent my slides to the guy, he gave me some great feedback. We launched and generated a fucking hell of a lot of new business. And I think my company has probably done near a million dollars now on webinars alone. So for a $25,000 investment, I feel like that's a pretty good return. So I'm going to give that one a 9.5 out of 10. So up until this point, we've invested nearly $50,000 in our education and we've seen mostly a massive ROI. But there was one thing we hadn't yet cracked. Paid advertisement. And I knew this was going to be the icing on the cake just to add and acc to everything we were already doing organically. So I did my due diligence, I asked around, who's the guy that's gonna take my business to the next level? Who has the. That I don't know. That I don't even know. And I found him. His name is Jeremy Haynes. His program now costs $10,000 a month. And you have to sign up for a year. And this is the one that sent us into the stratosphere. In the last three or four months alone of working with Jeremy, we've tagged on an extra 100k a month in revenue for the cost of. I think it's like 5 or 6k a month for me at the moment. The return is absolutely insane. The way it's delivered is 10 out of 10. And so to summarize, I'm happy with the investments I made that even the dud 10, 12 grand or whatever we spent on that fuckwit on the Internet, it was a lesson learned and I don't regret it. I don't like the rhetoric that all these programs are inherently a scam. I have benefited from them massively. It was shit that I didn't know. So I went and paid people to educate me on stuff that I didn't know. A lot of it I didn't even know existed. Like to apply these certain kind of marketing and sales techniques. Like I've said before on this channel, it is just fueling our mission to help as many dogs as possible. Money is oxygen into the business and so I want to bring people in that have figured out how to make money so we can deliver the mission of helping more dogs. It's really as simple as that. I think these programs do depend on the type of person you are and whether you're a type of person that is aggressive in their application. I believe I am that type of person. Anyway, if you want to skip some of these tricky lessons and get the information that I have learned repurposed specifically for dog trainers and our dog training information, you can click the link in the description and apply to our mentorship. If not, I hope you've enjoyed this video. And yeah, don't forget to subscribe and I'll catch you in the next one.
