Perfectionism is your worst trait

Jacob Morgan says perfectionism kills launches. His fix: write a one-page outline, pre-sell founding-member spots, then build the course live with your clients. You get revenue faster, proof people want it, and a better product.

Okay, so you've got a brilliant idea for a new program, maybe a new course, maybe a new service, a new offer entirely. And you know it's going to change the game for your clients. You've been thinking about it for months, maybe even years, but you still haven't launched it. Why? Because it's not ready yet. The modules aren't all filmed, the handouts aren't all designed, the website. It's not perfect. You're waiting for the magical day when everything is 100 complete before you put it out to the world. And that day is never gonna come. You are trapped in the cycle of perfectionism. And it is the single biggest killer of progress for UD training entrepreneurs today. I'm going to give you the antidote. It's a concept that will feel terrifying, but also liberating at the same time. Perfectionism is just a fancy word for fear. Fear of judgment, fear of failure and fear of something not being good enough. And so what happens then? You procrastinate. You spend months building something in a vacuum with no feedback, no income and no guarantee that anyone will even want it when it's finally perfect. This is the slow but painful way to build a business. The smart and fast and most profitable way is sell it first. First and then build it after. You build it week by week with your first group of clients. And I know that sounds insane, but it's the secret to launching faster but also creating better products and actually making you money from your ideas. This is how it works. You are going to launch a founders cohort for your new program. Step one, the outline. You are not going to build the whole course. You are going to create a simple one page document that outlines the structure of the program. What is the transformation, what are the weekly modules or topics and what's the end result? That's it. This should take you an hour, not a month. Step Step two, the pre sale. You're going to now sell spots for your founders cohort Based on this outline. You're going to be completely transparent and say I am launching a brand new high level program to solve whatever problem you solve. By the way, if you can't yet solve people's problems, you shouldn't be watching this channel. You should only be thinking about making more money and a bigger business if you can truly solve people's problems. If you can't do that, check out my other channel or click the link in the description and maybe look at our dog training development program that will help enable you solve those problems that you need in Order to build a sustainable dog training business. Business. Anyway, I'm going to look for a small group of founding members to go through it with me Live as a founding member. You will get the lowest price it will ever be offered and you will get to shape the curriculum with your feedback. We start on insert date. This does a few things. It creates urgency and scarcity. It makes the first lot of clients feel very special and most importantly, it validates your offer. If you can't sell it based on the outline, you are never going to sell the finished product anyway. Step 3. Build as you go. Once you have your founding members, you start the program and you only have to be one week ahead. You deliver week one live. You, you get the feedback, you see what works, you see what doesn't work and then you go on to build. Week two. You are creating the program in real time with direct input from your ideal clients. You are creating it with them. Common mistake people make here is they go and make the program. They spend months and months and months waiting for it to be perfect. It'll never be perfect. You do that without any sort of feedback and then you have to change the program anyway. So you might as well choose this method. It is not just better for you, it's better for your clients. You launch faster. You go from idea to income in weeks, not years. You create a business much better product for your clients and you're going to get real time feedback and build a better program that has proven to work, not one that just works in theory. You eliminate risk. You validate the demand for your offer before you invest hundreds of hours into building it and maybe even wasting money into marketing it. And finally, perhaps most importantly, your clients are going to get better results. They are more engaged because they are part of the creation process and they are getting your direct live attention. This is how you break the cycle of perfectionism that is killing you. You replace the fear of not being ready with the moment momentum of action. You replace the procrastination of building in private with the accountability of building in public. Your best ideas are dying in your hard drive and your most profitable programs are stuck in your head waiting for a perfect time that will never arrive. It's time to stop waiting and start building. Sell it first, then build it. This is just one of the methods we use inside our mentorship program to help trainers launch new offers and generate income in a matter of weeks. We provide the framework, the outline, the script for the pre sale and the structure the of, of the weekly delivery. If you've got an idea and you've been sitting on it for too long and you're ready to finally bring it to life. Hit the link in the description for more information on our mentorship program. Stop waiting to be perfect and start now.
