Jarrad Goulding shows how to safely remove a possum from your roof using a DIY one-way door made from mesh or cat doors, zip ties, and a small platform. He walks through checking entry points like gaps in walls and loose power lines, then installing the door so the possum can leave but not return.

Lots of vegetation up against the house. Trees near the roof line. So high possibility this house will have issues with rodents. Power lines leading to the house. You can see just up there, there's a brick. Loose power line going in there. There we go. Classic entry point for possum. And then chewing into the wall cavity that way. I must be reversing longer cabling. What I'll do now is talk to the client. More than likely I'll just set a one way door up. So with the one way door, get this mesh from Bunnings. So these are the cat doors. One way doors open up, they're one way, can't get back in. That's it. Made a bit of a platform, neaten it up. Trimmed all the zip tie ends off. I also like to pop the door open. A little stick or even a bit of apple or something just so the possum knows which way out.
