Kim and Eva joined The Local Guys cleaning franchise after Kim spent 20 years in sales and five in cleaning. They cut their hours from 70 a week to something manageable and got their time back. The franchise gave them systems, training, and staff support they didn't have running it alone.

I can be in control of my time. It gives me a lifestyle choice. If that sounds like you, I'd strongly recommend it. Hi, I'm Kim from the Local Guys Cleaning Services in Pakaranga, Auckland. We've had over five years of experience doing cleaning. We've recently joined the franchise and everything has been fantastic so far. The company really does look after the staff with training in terms of professional cleaners. You can trust us. Ah, before cleaning I was in sales for about 20 years, so my wife and I just decided we wanted to get out there and try something else and get our own, our own franchise and business going and it's been working very well.
Yeah. Does that sales sort of translate over into cleaning?
Yes, because you're doing a certain amount of selling yourself to the client, but also customer service is another part of the business that's super important.
So why did you decide to join the Local Guys over any other franchise?
I think it was the support that was in place, the training that we got from the induction when we first went to the. The week's conference or the week's training. Yeah, it was very supportive. Their systems and processes to us looked, looked very good and very trustworthy. Yeah. Today we've got an end of tenancy clean way out in South Auckland in a suburb called Carracka and it's an old farmhouse, like a big cottage. I would say three to four bedrooms or three bedrooms in an office. Yes. It's not been lived in for two years so we've got our work cut out for us.
And so it's you and your wife, Eva?
Yeah, so my wife and I, Eva, we've been working together. We also did some, when I was in sales I did some part time work, some commercial cleaning in the evenings for apartments and that kind of property. But that was working for a company. Yeah, it gave us a bit of flexibility but then just decided to give rid of working 70 hours a week and do one thing very well, which is working, working with the local guys and having our own franchise.
Yeah. And what's your favorite part about being your own boss and owning your own franchise business?
I can be in control of my time. It gives me a lifestyle choice and that's what so many Kiwis are looking for. So if that sounds like you, I'd strongly recommend it. Totally. 100%, yes.
