What happens if I don't get my fire blankets tested? As the business owner or the manager of the business, it is your obligation to ensure that those fire assets are being maintained. If you didn't do that, obviously insurance claims potentially wouldn't pay out as well as there could be criminal charges or civil charges brought against you for not maintaining that compliance, especially if there's an incident that does occur. We make sure that the fire blankets are correctly stored, they're easily accessible, properly labelled, and that the blanket and the case is clean and undamaged. You'll receive a full report as well as a certificate of compliance that shows you the test date next due date, perfect for any audits or safety records. If it fails, we can remove the failed fire blanket, replacing it with a brand new compliant one. In Australia they are required to be tested every six months and in New Zealand it's every 12 months.
