You know, if you enjoy work, it grows. Amazing, amazing. I've learned so much. I would say very professional but friendly. The only thing I'm worried is this.
Yeah, now look at you.
No, I'm talking.
Yeah, one hand.
So I thought let's do something and something was the carpet clean. My name is Ricky, I'm from wa. Training is fantastic. I think I've got very friendly staff here. Onboarding process was very easy and simple with Ruby. She helped me a lot and I have a lot of questions. When I started and within one or two days I think I made my mind and it was very clear that I'm going to training by trade. I was a chef, specialty was wedding cakes. I did there for two and a half years, three years, but then it becomes more busier. I didn't have a family time, it was tiring for me and by then I had my first son. I didn't have much time with him so I thought, thought it's time to change. Then I started working as a chef in a aged care and a Hospital. In 2020 life hits again, you know, and misses, was unwell. So I started doing cleaning business. I did it because of my compulsion to get some money in but then it worked very, very well for me and I think I should have done this 10 years ago. So I'm enjoying right now. So it's, you know, if you enjoy work, it grows. That's my story.
So we're out here in our final day of our carpet cleaning infield training. So we've got Ricky at the back here just doing, finishing up with the client that we're out doing the carpets and a couple of rugs today. Yeah, he's at the point where he's just about to finish up and competencies levels are a lot higher which are fantastic. From here we'll finish up today and then his business will officially start from next week, start getting leads through and getting out to those first brand new clients of his own and building up his business. So super exciting time. Is he going to be very successful? Of course he is, look at him. No, he's been asking all the right questions and we've been working out local suppliers for him and places where he can get servicing done and the right chemicals to be using, which supplies the best and where to get further information, knowledge and all the rest of it. So really planting those seeds for long term success. Nick, is there any areas or concerns or whatever on any of the carpets where you've seen any damage or spots that you want us to take particularly to think of. Okay, no, that's right. All right, cool. Good to know. All right, thanks. We know that the rugs are obviously a wool blend, so we can just start getting our pre spray ready, skip the step of testing because we know what we're dealing with, and then head up there, pre spray, and go from there. Beautiful. So you've got a couple of options here, especially with it being a low pile one. You could go one of these. But I think today, I think we're gonna go this one again.
Yeah, yeah.
Just nice and slow. That's it. Yep. Perfect. Perfect. Yeah, yeah, he's doing well. Really good. We went through a lot of technical stuff yesterday, testing the type of carpets that they were doing, burn tests and things like that. So now he's got really good form now, even using the scrubbing machine. Just like anyone when they first use it, it kind of shoots out on you all over the place and all the rest of it. And then by the end of the day, he's just got really good control of it and he's in charge of the machine as opposed to the machine taking him everywhere. So he's picking it.
Well, I'm getting there. Getting there with the steps, I guess, and it looks easy. And doing it for the first time with a lot of steps to follow and to do the job properly. And once you follow the steps, then. And rest is easy. I guess doing working with machines easy, it's more both knowing the product and knowing the chemicals is the big job.
Yep, you got it. Now down to that right where that belt buckle is. Once you're happy with that, thumbs in and then squeeze that one and then just drop it down until you've got it. Yep. Good control. Really good control. Don't even have to worry about it. So you think after one day, you're a master of it.
Now I need few jobs. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're like, yeah, turn it off. Perfect. Well done. Great job. Twist it up and tilt it down and walk it back towards the other rooms. So it depends on a lot of different condition, all those different types of things. Four bedrooms, we've got two rugs. Then we'll be speaking to the client about what other value that we could be adding to them as well. So. So we know there was a bunch of dining chairs out there. They might already here. Did they want to get all of those clean while we're here? We've also got two bathrooms in there as well, but we've got the tile and grout for those. We've also got fabric protection that we can offer as well. So what you start off with and then what. Depending on if you can explain the value correctly, what you end up with, it can be two completely different numbers, like two, three times what you ended up going there for the job on. So, you know, it might be a minimum charge job where you go out there for $150 at the beginning, but then you walk away with $750. And the client's very happy with that trade because you've done the couches, you've done the rugs, you've done all the carpets, and you've done the tile and grout. So that's the key, that's what we're constantly trying to do is just add more value to the customer and then obviously that means a higher ticket item for our franchise partners.
Ricky, how's training, man? It's doing well, man. I think I'm learning from the best. He's a master of the carpet clean. And I'm not saying this because he's here. I like the way he explained things. I never thought the carpet cleaning would be that into details and they might have to follow so many steps. But the good thing is if you follow steps, it's. It's half, half the work is done and you have a happy client and I think you have a good business. People around me, I'm seeing a lot of things that you guys are doing.
Yep.
So hopefully, you know, business is a business. Yeah. If, if it works out.
Well, just doing it one handed. He's having a combo. You should have seen him yesterday.
I asked for, for this. I said the only thing I'm worried is this.
Yeah. Now look at you.
No, I'm telling you.
Yeah. One hand, having a chat, having a yarn.
We'll get there.
Solving the world's problems.
Amazing, Amazing. And the time really flies. You know, my grandfather said, good, good, time always flies. I was worried like how, how my week's gonna go. But my weeks, I've learned so much and I never felt that I've been in Adelaide from last six, seven days. So. Yeah, good. Very friendly. The only guy was that I find bit fussy was the one in the media. What do you think? He's. He's like the guy from fba. FBI. Sorry. He's always there with the camera. He's a good guy. Yes. Not talking to him. Don't tell him. Right. Very friendly. Very friendly. And I would say very professional, but friendly.
So Nick, with this method that we're Doing the dry cleaning, basically what it does is crystallizes, encapsulates all of the dirt particles. So you notice we're not sucking them out and rinsing them out with this method. So that will happen over the next 24 hours. So all you need to do is tomorrow just get a good vacuum over all of the carpets and both the rugs and then all of those dirt particles that we've encapsulated, you'll suck straight out with your. And then the more times you vacuum over the next couple of weeks, the more crystallization that will come out and it'll get even cleaner and cleaner over the next couple of weeks. Yep. So all finished now. So you're officially finished with all your training, which. Well done. We have completed an end cap encapsulation cleaning or dry cleaning job which we didn't get to do yesterday. So yesterday was hot water extraction, tile and grout upholstery.
I think it was a fast day as compared to what we had yesterday. Yesterday was full on and my whole week went really fast. I was worried that how my week's gonna go with the training.
Yep.
It feels like I was here yesterday and weeks gone so quick, I think was a good training.
What are you feeling about for next week? You're excited to get your first lead and start doing your first job?
Yes, I got my list in my head. Yeah, I need to put that on a piece of paper.
The first thing. Well, that's, that's fantastic. First thing I'll tell you is next week you're going to need the most support possible. So don't be afraid to speak to me, speak to the team, WhatsApp group, all that sort of stuff, because you're brand new. As the months go on, the support that you'll need will be less and less. But for the next week, in the next month, in the next few months, like you want to reach out to us.
Few jobs and my texting you, hey, we're sending you the pictures.
That's what it's about. That's exactly what it's about. And then you start to get confident and we're all good. So, yeah, that's basically the plan.
