The thing you should do when you're finding a lot of spiders around your home is call a professional. They've got the best treatments, the best courses of action to take. They'll inspect the property, find areas and locations that spiders are coming from, and help knock down the numbers to prevent them for you in the future. Typically, you'll find a lot of spider activity during the warmer months. As soon as it starts warming up, that's when a lot of other insects are also active. Therefore you see a lot of spiders looking for food. The best time typically is the warmer months. So as soon as it starts getting warm during the year, have a treatment done. Then you'll get a good six months out of the treatment. Then if you have another one, just before the warmer months end, you'll get four years worth of protection around your house. The reason you should have a spider treatment is simply for that fact. To help with the number of spiders, to help prevent the amount of spiders you are seeing around your house. To keep your family safe from being bitten by nasty spiders such as redbacks and white tips. If we can help prevent the numbers around the house, you're going to have a safer home. The well known dangerous spiders around a house in Australia would be your red back spider, your white tip spider. They're the main two. When you're talking about certain eastern states, then you're talking about funnel web spiders. They're pretty much the main spiders that we deal with. A lot of the common spiders around an Australian home, there's a wide variety. We're talking about huntsmans, redbacks, whitetips, daddy long legs, mouse spiders, funnel webs. There's a lot of different type of spiders in Australia. When we do a spider treatment on a house, we're creating a barrier. So we go around the whole external perimeter of the building. So a meter up the wall, around windows, doors, underneath, eaves, any hidey holes, cracks and crevices that we see that spider spiders may hide out. If we're talking about the inside of a house, we're typically treating the skirting boards and the cornices of the rooms and then getting inside the roof void. Dusting inside the roof void to help take care of any spiders that are currently taking residency in the roof. We do offer a warranty with our spider treatments. I offer a three month warranty for the outside of a house and a six month warranty for the inside of the house. So a spider treatment is safe for your pets and gardens. All we require is that we are treating on the outside of A building that the pets are on the inside of the building and then vice versa. If we were on the inside, the pets would be on the outside. When we would perform a spider treatment on your house, you wouldn't need to leave the house. What we would have you do is while we are treating the outside of the property, have you remain on the inside with all the windows and doors closed. Once the treatment's dry, it's safe for you to come outside. When we're treating the inside of the house, you would only need to remain out of the house for a couple of hours until the treatment is dry. A lot of people think you'd need to be out for a couple of days after a treatment. This isn't the case. The chemicals that we use are much safer than previous years. So once the treatment is dry, it's okay to re enter. What you would need to do to prepare for a spider treatment around your house is to declutter around the outside walls. Because that's what we're going to treat is the a meter up the wall and then around all the windows and doors. So if you can declutter, that helps us set up that barrier for the treatment. What else we will need to do to prepare is have pet bowls, put away any toys, kids toys, that type of thing. Move those sort of things away from the house. Have your clothes off the washing line. What you can expect to see after a spider treatment is a little bit more activity than normal. This is all the spiders coming out of their hidey holes, picking up the chemical and dying off after the treatment. What we'd expect you to do is leave the webs where they are for up to two weeks. This is because the chemical is on the spider webs. The spiders come out of their holes, pick up the chemical off the webs and then die. So if we wiping away those webs before they've picked up the chemical, we're not getting the full treatment. If you have excessive spiders return during your warranty period, give your technician a call. We're more than happy to come. Have a look. Retreat the areas that you're having issues with. A few little things that you can do to help prevent excessive spiders around your home is to declutter. Have less stored things around the outside of your house for them to hide in. Cut back the shrubbery from the house. Have seal strips on the doors to prevent them from getting in the house in the first place. Make sure your flyer screens are in working order. These little things will help prevent the issues in the first place.
