Luma's new Layers feature outputs AI-generated images as editable layers instead of flat files. You can change text, resize elements, rearrange layers, extract assets like logos, and batch-create design variations. Flatten and animate the final design with tools like Seedance.

No more leaving for Photoshop. Everything is done in Luma. Layers just launched and now images come out as editable layers, not one flat file. So if I want to change this headline, I can change the text and I can also upscale it or change the size. And now I can separate every asset and element and rearrange it the way I like. You can also rearrange and hide the layers to test out designs or extract something like the logo so you can reuse it as an asset. You can also batch create multiple variations of your designs, then extract the layers on each one. So you can come up with hundreds of variations of your design work for your client project. Once you're happy with the design, just click the flatten button and it will turn it back into a flat image. Then you can use something like Seedance to animate and add motion to your design. Just comment Luma and I'll send you a link to try out Layers today.
