Jesse Pujji converted over half his meetings from Zoom to phone calls, and now does interviews while walking instead. He ranks communication by preference: in-person first, then phone, Slack, and Zoom last. He's noticeably happier since ditching video calls.
Zoom is by far my, my now least favorite format of communicating with people. I've flipped more than 50% of my calendar to calls. Even like I did a bunch of interviews for OX yesterday. They were all phone calls. I just walked around and talked to the person.
It's the movement. It's like, it's so uncomfortable sometimes to just sit and talk. Sometimes it's the best. Sometimes it's not. I had a coaching call with Dave. He's someone that I felt comfortable enough a while back saying, I hate that I'm sitting down at a desk and talking with you. It's really difficult for me. And we decided, all right, we're going to do walking sessions and they've been wonderful.
My personal joy and contentment has gone up a lot from getting off of Zooms. Number 1 is in person by far, by a long shot. Number 2 would probably be a phone call. Number 3 is even like Slack or something like texting. This is number 4 for me.
