If wanting to look better is the main reason you want to lose weight, I can almost guarantee you that you will never succeed. Because wanting to look better does not give you the motivation you need to create the changes that are going to give you the body you want. Let me explain why. Think about your brain in evolutionary terms. You've evolved over millions of years in an environment where there was no mirrors, there was no pictures, there was no fashion, there was no scales. You have no brain structures in your mind that are dedicated to wanting to make you look better. And so when you try and motivate yourself by wanting to look better, there's no motivation there. And so, if you start making your weight loss about living longer and about being healthier during those years and wanting to look better, you're going to get much better results.
