A short YouTube talk by Jim Katsoulis presenting an "anti-diet" approach to weight loss: instead of drastic, short-term calorie cutting, adopt slow, sustainable habit change—pick one habit to change at a time, implement it over weeks until it becomes automatic, then add the next. The speaker emphasizes patience and long-term cumulative progress rather than rapid monthly expectations.

The anti diet way to lose weight easily and enjoyably. Typically, when people think about losing weight, what they're really thinking about is dieting. And the way dieting works is you start on day one being perfect, cutting 50, 60% of your calories out, and expecting that you're going to be perfect with your food choices and your lifestyle until you reach your goal weight. So an alternative to that is instead of trying to be perfect on day one, is on day one, pick one thing that you want to focus on. Maybe it's a bad habit that you want to work on resolving, maybe it's a good habit you want to install into your lifestyle, and you start making smart, strategic, sustainable changes to implementing that into your life. Then after a couple weeks, you got a habit that's kind of running itself, and then you move on to the next one. So there's a saying that people overestimate how much weight they can lose in a month and underestimate how much weight they can lose in a year. So as you start having more patience with this process and doing it more strategically, you set yourself up to be in a completely different space next year at this time, instead of running the same loop de loop diet roller coaster that you're on every single year.
