Jonathan Yanez, a sci-fi novelist with 9½ years in the field, announces Infinity System, a science-fiction Western where a simulation picks who gets to colonize a new planet as Earth dies. Filmmaker Matthew Hall, who has shot in combat zones and the Pacific Ocean, backs the project as a natural fit for film.
My name is Jonathan Yanez, and for the last 9 and a half years I've been writing science fiction fantasy novels that have been translated into multiple languages, won the Jack London Award, Amazon bestseller list, and now we're taking all that knowledge and bringing it to the big screen.
My name is Matthew Hall, and I'm a filmmaker and film historian here in Southern California. I've shot some films in some pretty insane places— combat zones in Iraq and Syria. I've filmed on the Pacific Ocean. The Infinity System is the best of both worlds. It's the best of sci-fi, and it's the best of the American West.
Western. Infinity System answers a question: if this world were to die, where do we go and who do we send? The story takes place many years from now in the future when our planet is dying. There's been a simulation set up to find out who would be the best to go colonize a new planet. In my opinion, this is everything that a movie should be. I'm really excited to share this IP with you, this new idea. To share that ride with all of you, I think, is going to be so exciting.
