In this video, the presenter demonstrates how to make a double chocolate banana cake, providing a step‑by‑step bilingual (English/Tagalog) walkthrough. The recipe calls for 1/4 cup oil, 1/3 cup (≈73 g) golden brown sugar, one large egg, 1 cup mashed Lakatan banana (preferably overripe for stronger flavor), 1/3 cup water, alkalized cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp fine salt, 1 tsp vinegar, and 1 cup (≈170 g) milk chocolate chips (with only 1/4 cup folded in initially). Dry ingredients are sifted and combined gently to avoid overmixing. The batter is whisked, scraped, then transferred to a greased 9×5‑inch loaf pan, dusted with cocoa powder, leveled, and baked at 350 °F for about one hour. The presenter offers practical tips—using overripe bananas, preferring milk chocolate chips for better blending, and ensuring the pan is well‑greased. Today, we will be preparing double chocolate banana cake. This is a recipe request. We will be adding 1/4 cup of oil, then 1/3 cup or about 73 grams of golden brown sugar. Golden brown sugar is Ginagamit ko dito for its moisture and flavor, at 1 large egg. Haluin lang natin 'to hanggang magin, well combined. Okay, now I'm adding 1 cup of mashed banana. Haluin lang ulit hangang magin well combined. Bemakita kayo namin yung ubu pang sagin, kung wala kayo nang fork, and mash nilang sagilin. Okay, but then I think that the dry ingredients— alkalized cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon fine salt. Sift lang natin ito. Mix lang natin until just combined. Di pa din ma overmix kasi iti kas. At this point, we will add 1 teaspoon vinegar. Lastly, we will add 1 cup or 170 grams of milk chocolate chips. I'm using Hershey's. Don't add in all. Just about 1/4 cup. Just enough to coat the pan. Okay, but then after that, we will just use our whisk to scrape the sides and bottom to make sure it's fully combined. Then we will transfer it to our 9x5-inch loaf pan and grease it with a little oil. You can spread it with pastry brush, tissue, or just by hand. Then we will dust it with cocoa powder. Finally, we will just level it. Chocolate chips, by the way, spreading semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips, but I find that milk chocolate is better blending with banana. Now bake this at 350°F in a preheated oven for for about 1 hour. Mm, it's very moist. Mm, so brown syrup.
