In this video, the host demonstrates a simplified, non‑traditional version of sardines fan tuan, a Taiwanese sticky rice roll typically eaten for breakfast. Using 1 cup of sticky rice, water, salt, and sesame oil, the rice is cooked and spread flat. Instead of the traditional pork floss, canned sardines are used as the protein. A scrambled egg with onion and a pinch of sugar is prepared, and cucumber replaces the usual pickled vegetables. For crunch, a sweet cruller (donut) is added as a substitute for the traditional fried dough. The host rolls the ingredients without a rolling mat, offers tips for sizing, and shares personal memories of eating the dish in Taiwan. The video concludes with typical YouTube calls to like, comment, subscribe, and follow on social media.

Today, we're going to make sardines fantuan, an ice sticky rice roll from Taiwan. So, let's just make it. This is what we're going to eat for breakfast. It's a hearty breakfast, so let's eat this. So, we cover ko sha. Don't cling wrap it, it will be sticky. I have here sticky rice. So this is 1 cup of sticky rice. Then add 1 cup of water, add a pinch of salt, and add sesame oil for extra flavor. Now, 1 spoon of sesame oil. Spread out the rice as flat as we can. So last year, when we were in Taiwan, we ate this. Napakaendo nang sarap, sarap, sarap. It's all for a surprise po talaga kung sa Taiwan. Definitely, definitely, acha isang lugar na babalik pa ligan mo ako ikaw ay isang foodie. So, eto ay para ang breakfast on the go. So, yung medyo tostado yung makalakadito pero masarap din kasi yon diba. Medyo tostado so hindi konyenti nang gal. Okay na yon, lalagay natin atin mo na feeling. So meron ako dito sardinas. And last but not the least, nalaganate siyang mangwanchicharon. Spreading among one yung gamitin natin. And then for the sour taste, it's a special na sukat sili flavor yung pinili ko. Lana natin to irol. Eh, dami natin. Feeling that palandikon na nela ganun sos nun sardines. Mmm! Mmm! So, I'm going to eat it alongside. If you like this recipe, just leave a comment below. And like and share this video so that everyone will know about this recipe.
