How Podcast Guests Are Making $25K to $100K in 30 Days

Lori Harder breaks down how podcast guests convert appearances into $25K to $100K in 30 days. Seed your offer from the first answer, use story types with memorable soundbites, and follow up via DM or a free funnel. Your social profile is a second interview.

The people who made kind of the big fast cash, the $25K, the $50K, the $100K in 30 days.
These are people from your actual podcast, guests you've had on in the past that made you go, whoa, this is such a huge sales channel. Yeah, a lot of that.
When I look back at what they did, they sent direct to offer or DMs, which is so interesting to me.
Okay, yeah.
But it works.
We're back. We're back. Part 3, we made it.
We made it. This has been so much fun. I don't know, maybe we'll, we'll come up with a part 4.
I mean, you really are my favorite person to guest with. We could talk about all of the topics for all of the days, but what I've loved about this is we've really broken it down into this beautiful framework for people to understand the pure potential of being a podcast guest and having that become an actual sales channel for your business. So if you haven't listened to part— listens— if you have not listened to part
everyone
to parts 1 and 2. The first episode, we talked about the pitch— how to get booked, how to become the podcast guest every host wants to have on their show— because that's step 1, getting your foot in the door.
Yep.
But then the second piece, which I think is often the most overlooked, is then what do you say? How do you craft a great interview that sets up what we're going to talk about today, which is then how do you turn that conversation into the most natural, beautiful, authentic way to position your offer? Because I You know, I coach so many women, I mentor so many women in business, and there's this fear around coming across as salesy. And for sure, there's a fine line on a podcast. You're there to give value, and we want to set you up to shine. We want to set you up as the host to be able to talk about your offer. So we're going to give you some really tangible ways to do that, and also, which I think is even more important, some of the dos and don'ts of pitching essentially on a podcast. So gosh, where do we wanna dive in? I feel like we're just gonna jump right in because if they've listened to and followed this series, they already know why you're the person to be teaching this. Mm-hmm. Your thousands and thousands of interviews, your years under the, the podcasting umbrella, really seeing it all, the good, the bad, the ugly. Mm-hmm. Truly. And there is a difference between someone who's a great conversationalist and someone who actually turns that conversation that podcast interview into sales, what have you noticed is the biggest determining factor between the two?
It's definitely seeding. So they are consistently seeding their offer from the very top. So if you went back and listened to episode 2 in this, we talked about how you really want to make sure when you open a podcast and the podcast host asks you, so what do you do, that you edify yourself. And that you have a great kind of opening pitch, opening story. And within that opening story, because we talked about working back backwards from the offer, you want to make sure that you are referencing what it is that you are going to be sharing on that podcast. So whatever that call to action at the end is, whatever that whole goal of that whole conversation is, for example, to be very meta once again, you know that I'm teaching what I'm teaching, like I'm doing what I'm teaching on this podcast. So if you go back and you listen to what I was talking about, it was that I'm trying to solve this problem of being able to tell you the difference between a guest that monetizes and a guest that doesn't monetize. And so the whole reason that I started talking about what I've been talking about, which is this program called Million Dollar Guest, is because I had this elite entrepreneur mastermind that we had included a full podcast episode on my show. And I started to notice that not only did they have the same problem that I have, is that they can be incredible 7 and 8 figure brilliant entrepreneurs, but not know what to say, not know how to package it, and not know how to sell on a podcast at all. And they were all leaving every podcast they'd ever done without any customers, without any sales. And so from the top of that, right away, I had talked about this is what made me want to start talking about this topic, and this is why I started this program. So none of you felt sold to at that point. It was the whole purpose of the why that I started this whole program that I've been doing. So for a lot of you, let's just use a high-ticket sales coach, for example. From the top, they would kind of talk about why they got into high-ticket sales. And so right away you'd be like, oh, this person is in high-ticket sales. Maybe you mentioned something that you do and how you teach it from the top. So what we do in Millionaire Million Dollar Guest is we teach that opening to immediately seed in the listener's mind that not only have you stated the problem and that you see them within the problem and that maybe they even fully understand the problem, maybe the guest fully understands the problem of the listener by saying, I've had this too, where I said that in the beginning, I struggle with this too. I have been an entrepreneur for almost 20 years now and I still struggle to package everything that I do.
Mm-hmm.
I'm also struggling online right now, trying to think of content. I'm a long-form person in a short-form world. And so all of that from the top is not only saying, I see you, I get you, here's the problem, here's the problem maybe you didn't even know that you had, and here is the solution. So from the very top, I'm opening with all of those things at once. So now the listener says, okay, now I'm really going to tune in. See what these solutions are, lean into, um, you know, overcoming, seeing if they can overcome any last objections that I have. And then throughout that, we're still going to talk about the offer or mention the offer because we're gonna— we'll, we'll go into that in a minute, but it's seeding throughout the entire conversation.
Yeah, I will tell you, I have felt so personally confronted this whole entire time because what it's doing is it's pointing out to me these nuances that I've never thought about. I've hosted a podcast for 7 years, over 800 conversations, but I don't go into being a podcast guest with the same level of intentionality, which is why I am putting myself in Million Dollar Guest, because I didn't know what I didn't know.
Yeah.
So I feel like this is a great point to even reference back to what we talked about in the last episode regarding stories, because there are specific stories that you want to have prepared To set you up to talk about your offer.
Mm-hmm.
We have actually touched on them, but I want you to explicitly remind us here what type of stories we want to have in our back pocket as we go into interviews to be able to set us up to support our offer, create a need for our offer, and even overcome objections.
There are typically around 4 different types of stories that you need. There can be more than that, and I go into that deeply in the, in the program, but I'm gonna tell you the one that I think is probably most important for you to understand, and I'll go into a story so that you can understand. You need testimonial/transformational stories. So it can be— I'm going to use an example of my own transformation with masterminds, and it's a bit of my own testimonial. So when I say testimonial and transformation, like, it's a testimony for me of how masterminds have worked, but it's also my transformation story. And if you were going to also use testimonial stories, you could use this if you didn't have one like the one I'm going to share. You can use a client. Testimonial or transformation story. So if I were to be going on a podcast to sell our mastermind, so you guys have been hearing me talk on this whole podcast about selling million-dollar guests. It's like very clear that is what I'm doing this three-part series for is to not only bring a lot of value, but the goal is to funnel you inside of either the media kit, the training, and then get you to the program. Now this is a great example for you because you can see that I also sell the mastermind, but that's not the point of this particular. Right. But if I was doing one and going on, a story that I would include that is like a transformation or, or testimonial story is I would probably open, um, with the pitch. I would say a pitch around something with the mastermind, but I would open with a story or a question that prompts this particular story. I love this one cuz it also has a soundbite in it, which is really great because a lot of people, they're gonna hear a story, but if you don't include a soundbite, Or what I call— don't get confused on this now, but this is what I call it in my brain and what I also teach— condensed universal truth. So a cut from that story. So this is how you become a memorable guest as well, is I like to open or close with something around the story that they can grab onto that they'll remember, because they're not going to remember this whole story.
Mm-hmm.
So a lot of times someone will open with a question for me, whether I seed this question to them or not, and they'll say, Lori, how did you get here? You've done all of these different things. How did you— this is a main question I get no matter what. How did you pivot from this? How did you go from fitness to writing a book to masterminds to stages to a physical product? And I say, well, I learned early on that your environment is stronger than your willpower. And what I mean by that is that no matter what environment you're in, you're going to become Whatever that environment is. And your environment is mainly the people around you. And so what I learned really quickly when I got myself out of my original environment that I grew up in, because I struggled, I was an overweight kid, had a more restrictive religion, felt like I was dumb, didn't graduate high school. When I learned in my 30s that when I get in these containers of people who are brilliant, who only see possibility, who see possibility in you, Not only does it make you want to step up, but it actually evolves you without even realizing it. And so, you know, the first time that I went into the fitness community where I wanted to do a fitness competition and thought, how can someone like me who's had years of just horrible habits become a fitness person, get on stage and get on magazine covers? And I joined a coaching community. I joined a big fitness group. I did the workouts. I— I talked to all the people online, like I made that my whole life and community. And that is where I learned that good or bad, your community will shape you. So your environment is stronger than your willpower. And I would just surround myself in these environments of what I wanted.
Yeah.
And the way that I wanted to think. And so from the fitness world, then I went into the online space, and I just surrounded myself with people in the online world, joined Lewis Howes Mastermind, joined Gabby Bernstein's all of her coaching, did all of her stuff. And I went so deep into those worlds that all of a sudden I realized that I could pay for proximity into the thing that I wanted. So whenever there would be something that I wanted to do next, whether it was write a book, I'd say, who's got the best group around that? Who's got the best coaching on that? How can I pay to be around rich, wealthy, big-thinking people? And that's when masterminds were the thing that transformed me over all the years. And it's why I do what I do now. And so I do that for other people. I take all of those things that I've loved about every single mastermind that completely transformed me and completely changed me. And that is now what Chris and I do. We host these masterminds every single year because we know that if people come into that container, they're going to think bigger. They're going to be around the people that they need to be around, and they're going to need to get the answers that they need. So within this— End story, right? Okay. So within that conversation, You heard a story about my own transformation. Yeah. You heard what I struggled with growing up. You heard a soundbite that you probably still remember right now. It's kind of sitting with you potentially, if I did it okay. It's like, oh, your environment is stronger than your willpower. I'm gonna keep thinking about that when I think of what I need next. So now you have this little memorable soundbite, but you also know that I have masterminds. So right now, if all of a sudden you realize you might have the same problem that I did, Where your environment at home or your community is not supportive of where you want to go next, what was just inserted into your head was, maybe I need a mastermind.
Yep.
But what I also did was I said, I have one. We do this for these people. And now if I would've told that story even better, I would've mentioned, um, who I do that for, like what types of people. So I would've elaborated a little bit more about like, we host these masterminds with People who are, you know, at $500K to 7 figures up, and that's who we work with. And it's typically these types of businesses. And so now, and so you would kind of be overcoming all of those objections, seeding from the top, telling the story. So that's why the stories that you tell are really important to show people that it could be for them as well.
So good. And again, just back to what we talked about in the last episode. The stories are what stick with people. So maybe they're not even thinking about your offer at the time they hear the episode, but the story stays with them and things change 6 months to a year from now. That's the other cool thing about podcast guesting is that it's sort of this evergreen thing that lives out there that people can find at any moment. I have people all the time say that they are new listeners to Powerhouse Women and they start over from the very beginning listening to episode 1. All the time. Meaning someone could have been on my show 7 years ago and they're still getting new— I want to say eyeballs, ear holes. They're still getting new ear holes.
Yeah, this is huge. So you're, you're a show with a great backlog. So a lot of the shows with like very loyal listeners, you can look at your backlog numbers and they're like almost as big as your recent numbers, which is huge for a show. And I have an episode that aired, I think now 5 or 6 years ago. That I have an affiliate link in that I've still been getting paid on up until about 6 months ago. I still got paid almost every month.
That's insane.
Insane. So that's what I want you to understand about your show could go on if you have something that is evergreen.
Yeah.
And this affiliate link, this is their whole business model is getting these people in around brand and helping build brand. I am still getting paid on that from that episode. Wow. Like that is mind-blowing.
That's so cool. So there is a fine line with how and when to talk about your offer, how directly to pitch it. You've been showing us throughout this series. I want you to explicitly say, what is that fine line? What are some of the dos and don'ts of how much to mention the offer, how directly to sell it? It may— I would imagine it may depend on the host and what they're comfortable with, but what do you tell
So the first thing I do is I, I figure out my relationship with the host. If it is someone I do not know, I'm— and, and I like don't know anybody that knows them either, and I can't get a read on them, I'm going to tread very lightly. I'm going to tell stories like I just told, and I'm probably going to go on there with a freebie, and we can talk about that in a minute. The opportunity to maybe ask a question when I first get on with them. Like, hey, is it okay if at the end, you know, when you ask where to direct them, can I share something? Or would you rather just, you know, have me share to my website or following? Like, I have this coming out. If not, no worries at all. I know some people are more sensitive to that. Um, shows that are on bigger, like, networks that are paid by those networks. It's usually a no-no to sell at all. They'll cut it out of the show altogether. So they'll cut out your links, they'll cut out everything. You can only go on as a guest. Um, that's rare, like, in our entrepreneurial world. Um, but you'll know because it'll be like a big, like, um, help me. Like,
they'll have like a contract, something you agree to usually before you even come on, like a disclaimer of some kind.
It'll be like a show where they're essentially paid like a salary for doing the show. Um, but those are fairly rare that a lot of people get on those really big shows. But I'm actually wearing one of my newest Quince finds right now as I'm recording this. So if you're watching on YouTube, you can actually see what I'm talking about. It's their cotton cashmere fitted ribbed cardigan, and it is so freaking cute. I style it with a couple buttons undone at the top and at the bottom, so it's really fitted through the middle. And then I stack all my jewelry because obviously you guys know I love my jewelry and I need to be able to see it when I'm wearing my tops. The quality feels amazing and it was less than $50. I also ordered their organic cotton micro rib Henley, which was less than $25, and I love that one for the exact same reason. I can unbutton it at the top, layer all my jewelry, and it makes a really simple, chic, basic look completely pulled together. That's what I love about Quince. They make those elevated everyday pieces you actually wanna wear over and over again using premium materials. Like Mongolian cashmere, organic cotton, and premium stretch denim without the crazy luxury markup. Their 100% Mongolian cashmere sweaters start at just $50, and everything at Quince is priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands because they work directly with ethical factories and cut out the middleman. And it, it's not just clothes. They have hotel quality bedding and bath, kitchen essentials, furniture, and even beautiful 14-karat gold jewelry. I have some of their sheets. And I love them. Find the fall pieces you'll reach out for most at Quince. Download the Quince app for app-exclusive offers, or go to quince.com. Get free shipping on your order and 365-day returns, now available in Canada and the UK too. And when Quince asks where you heard about them, let them know it was Earn Your Happy. It's the best way to support the show. My relationship with money has changed so much over the years. The older I get, and especially after becoming an entrepreneur, the more I realize making money is only one part of the equation. You also have to know where it's going, what you're building, and whether the decisions you're making today are actually moving you toward the life that you want. That's why I think Monarch Money is such a smart tool. It brings your financial picture together in one place— your accounts, investments, savings goals, and spending. So instead of trying to piece everything together in your head, you can actually see what's happening. And I love how practical you can get with it. Instead of only telling you what you've already spent, Monarch can help you set goals, map out a big purchase, and see whether you're actually on track before it's too late to adjust. You can even ask Monarch's AI assistant questions like, how much did I spend on travel last summer? Or can I actually afford this vacation without touching my savings? And their AI weekly recap can flag things like spending spikes, net worth changes, and upcoming expenses. It's almost like having a financial advisor in your pocket, helping you pay attention to the things you might otherwise miss. Write your own money story with Monarch. Use code EYH at monarch.com to get your first year of Monarch Core half off at just $50. That's 50% off your first year at monarch.com with code EYH. With hosts that you don't know, I would follow what I just said. And then with hosts that you maybe have somewhat of a warm relationship, just say, hey, I have something going on right now. Do you mind if I share it? If not, no worries. I have a freebie that I could direct them to that's gonna add a lot of value to your people that I'll just mention in passing, if that's okay.
Yep.
Then there's also people who don't ask at all, but they have the art down very, very well. Mm-hmm. So here's a little sneaky, sneaky, sneaky link for you people. Here's a sneaky link for you and your people is if you have a freebie that has anywhere from, let's just say, 3 steps to 5 steps, and it's based on what you're talking about. Mm-hmm. So if I said, you know, well, what I'll quick share is my, I have a freebie that has 5 steps to getting booked. I'm gonna share 2 of them just because for time's sake of this podcast, if you guys want the other one, go to loriharder.com/freebie. That's literally what you would do.
Yeah.
And you'd say, but let me share these 2 that are really, really important.
Mm-hmm.
And maybe even once you're done sharing those 2, you can say, just for time's sake, you can go to here and you can get these. Mm-hmm. Or you could share all 5 and say, and if you, if you want these so that you can go over it and you want the worksheets with it, just go here. And that's how a lot of people sneak in a lot of things, is a really valuable freebie. Listen to me when I say this: you need to make sure it's around the topics you are talking on, or it's going to be random, it's going to be weird, and the host is going to feel like that was like really bizarre, it doesn't quite fit there. When you sneak it into the questions and build it into what you're teaching, it's a no-brainer for people, and they also want the rest of it. So something I will be doing when I'm not promoting the training is coming up with a very specific set of steps that I will be teaching in a freebie because the media kit right now is working wonderfully for me, but I'll continue to come up with different ways to drive people there. And I'll come up with that specific set of steps that maybe I'll share 3 out of the 7 and then give the freebie on podcasts.
Which even if you're listening to this and you're like, shoot, I don't have any of those things built out. As you're going through this process, especially— this is why we're going to encourage people to attend the free training, to really start to fine-tune their process, what they want to talk about. As you're going through your steps, turn that into a PDF, right? Just take your prep work, have AI help you kind of formulate it into a 1 to 2 page PDF download. There you have your freebie. Freebie. So here's kind of my next question then: how do we determine Where to send people as a next step, because that's probably going to range also with the relationship with the host. You and I are the type of friends where it's like, come sell anything that is going to give value to the Powerhouse Women community. But you're going to have different relationships where, as you already shared, some it's going to feel more natural to share a free resource. Some you can directly just say, hey, here's what I'm doing. How do you decide and what should we have prepared as options for next steps? steps?
This is gonna be the biggest, like, it's gonna be a question that is, I'm gonna give you so much variety. So I don't want you to get lost here because you can do anything that you wanna do, no matter even what the host says, because at the end, every host goes, where can we follow you? Where can we find you? Yeah. Now you wanna think of it in terms of what conversation did you just have with the listener? Because could we send them to a big offer? Did you seed it well? Like you could say, You know what, right now I'm, I'm filling my mastermind. And so if you want to go see that, you can go to the website and you can follow me on Instagram. And that wouldn't be offensive really to anybody at all. You'd be like, okay, whatever. Like, I don't care what host you are. You'd be like, all right, she talked about her mastermind. No, it doesn't matter if you said that, even though that was a big like, wow, she's sending us to a big offer. Let's say her mastermind was $10K or $25K. Like, I don't really mind that she did that at all because she did it really quickly. But here's the problem. If you did it really quickly and you didn't really seed it through the conversation, nobody cares and it doesn't hit anyway.
Yeah.
So where you want to send them needs to be really thoughtful. And I do think a freebie is a really great way for that because they're going to get value right away and be in your list that you can be nurtured. Now, the examples that I talked about of the people who made Kind of the big fast cash, the $25K, the $50K, the $100K in 30 days.
And hold on, let's— if they didn't listen to that story, these are people from your actual podcast, guests you've had on in the past that made you go, whoa, this is such a good sales channel. Continue.
When I look back at what they did, they sent direct to offer or DMs.
Okay, wait, talk about the DM strategy. Did they just say DM me on Instagram?
Which is so interesting to me.
Okay. Yeah.
But it works. Mm-hmm. So they did such a great job with seeding and saying, you know, I have these spots open and if you're interested in working with me, just send me a DM that says mastermind.
Yeah.
And because this is such a small container and it's not for everybody, I really wanna have a quick one-on-one chat with you in the DMs and then we might take you to an application process and we just figure out if it's a fit or not. Yeah. So for me, the DMs is the best spot for me to be able to go. You know, see your Instagram, learn a little bit about you, have some voice notes back and forth. That is gold. So if you can master that as well, that is what I am finding is the fastest, biggest money. Now, if you're really thinking like long, long-term in a program, you can do freebie to being able to nurture them. But this is, again, you're gonna, you're gonna need a funnel for that.
Mm-hmm.
So if you don't have a funnel, DMs are an insanely amazing option. And high ticket, I might even I have somebody coming on who's high ticket that I'm actually going to make the plan around the DMs.
Okay, that's so brilliant and also circumnavigates the question, okay, what if I don't have my funnel set up yet? What do you tell people who come in with that question?
We're gonna do DMs.
Okay, great. And then also set up your funnel.
And set up your funnel, please. Set up a freebie, set up your funnel. And now honestly, with Claude, there's really not any excuse. We made a freebie today in 2 minutes based off of— I fed it my Million Dollar Guest slides. This was with Natalie Ellis, and we said, based off of the content in these slides, what would a great freebie be for my ideal customer who wants to make money off of podcast guesting to get them interested, get them seeing that they have this problem? Um, and it literally busted it out from the content with all the branding. It was incredible. So you'll be seeing that as well.
Brilliant.
And, um, it came up essentially with almost a Profit quiz of, are you ready to profit off of podcasts based on this quiz? Like, let's look at where you're at.
Again, listen, let the robots help you.
Right?
Right. You just be the brilliant guest.
Yes.
Let the robots help you do the rest. Okay. So what if the host maybe isn't quite a savvy host, isn't maybe following the flow of your questions and giving you those natural opportunities to talk about your offer?
Mm-hmm.
How do you finesse
that? I'm like, I want you to almost try to ask me a question, see if I can— we call it the U-turn. So I teach it in the—
I actually teach this in the— Yeah. How would I use a U-turn in a conversation? Let's say that the host is taking us down a different direction and you want to keep it on track with what you're setting up and what you're seeding. How would you use that U-turn?
Can you ask me a question that has nothing to do with this? We'll see if I can do it.
Yes. What is your favorite flavor of Yasso bars?
So I have been eating Yasso bars every single night.
I can attest to that.
Unfortunately, for about 2 months now, my husband got me hooked on them. And it's crazy because I have this routine where all day right now I'm working on these freebies for this program that I'm doing called Million Dollar Guest, and I'm already thinking about my Yasso bar. But it's like fueling me to hurry up and finish this freebie that I want because I'm trying to help people monetize podcasting. That's my main goal. So, and I'd probably continue rambling down that road.
Brilliant.
And you can do this with literally anything. You can find a tie. Like, you could try me again and I can figure out how to find a tie. So you guys could actually practice that with people. And you would be able to find a golden thread to be able to do a U-turn on anything.
That was a masterclass. That's a good party trick. You should really use that one. Okay, so you talk about how our social media profile is almost like a second interview, which is so brilliant to think about that, especially if you know you're gonna be putting yourself on a podcast tour and you're gonna have episodes coming out during a certain timeframe. What do you mean by that?
Okay, so I know you've gotten these pitches where it's piqued your curiosity. It's a decent one.
Yeah.
And you're like, you're not there yet, you're not decided yet, because you're like, this could be interesting. Let me go see like if this person is out in the world talking about this. And you're excited because you're like, oh cool, like I've maybe found a good guest. And you go to their Instagram and they don't have anything about the topic that they're talking on.
So yeah.
And they don't have them shown on any podcasts, or maybe they do, but it's like really bad Zoom. It's a horrible clip. Their bio is all over the place. It doesn't even mention kind of like what the topics they specifically pitched are.
Yeah.
You're like, how did you have all your shit together on the media kit, but you did not pass this? I close out and I'm done.
Yeah.
So you want to make sure that they go to your page. And they can see you talking about the things that you're talking about. And so in Million Dollar Guest, we teach you how to build a million dollar profile. And so within those first 6 posts, we actually help you build all of those out in your bio and everything. We talk about everything to get you completely dialed in so that you pass that with flying colors.
That is so important. Again, this is why I'm so grateful that you created Million Dollar Guest because All of these elements add up to the end result we're talking about, and they're so easily missed, but also so easily done where you will stand out. 99% of guests are not doing this.
Mm-hmm.
Until now, but still 98% of the world.
And here's the thing, it takes a little bit of work and a lot of people can't piece this together on their own. Yeah. Like they just don't know how to do this. I have, I've had, you know, Coaches. Amy Sangster helped me on my top 6 and getting super dialed in with making sure that everything I was talking about is shown there and everything is cohesive. And so it's kind of like the mastermind thing. I'm taking every piece that I have struggled with, that I really need help with, as somebody who I can tell you, you are my linear friend. I'm the creative friend who really struggles with this. So when I teach this, I'm teaching the person who maybe has had trouble in the past. I'm teaching the person who feels like right now, like, I don't know if I can do that. Well, you guys, I use so many Claude prompts in this to help you get super clear. Like, my Claude prompts are so dialed in because I am the person who gets more confused the more I try to untangle the necklace.
Yeah.
And so we get you very, very dialed in, and which helps you across your entire business.
Yeah. Uh, okay, I'm getting so excited about this, feeling a little less personally attacked. Okay, good. Thank you so much because I feel like I'm in good hands. What would you say if we're to kind of like wrap up the sales conversation part of it into one or two takeaways? What would you say are the biggest mistakes where podcast guests are leaving money on the table as it relates to giving the listeners Next steps?
Mm-hmm. They usually say, uh, find me, follow me, go to my website, go to my DMs. You have to give them a call to action. And I know that they're being nice by saying, yeah, if you're interested in working with me, go here. We want to have that person feel so specifically called out and invited. You know, if you are a woman who feels like the bottleneck in her business right now, and you know you're really good at what you're doing and you just feel like you need the right container in the right room, and maybe you're even sitting there wondering if, you know, this is for you, or do you fit in, or are you good enough— this is for you. Go to my DMs and DM me VIP, and we'll have a little conversation. And it can just be super relaxed and super chill, and I can ask you some questions and maybe tell you a little bit about where I see you blocking yourself, and we'll go from there.
Yeah, that's— it's just so So valuable in the grand scheme of what we already talked about in the 3 episodes where we see such potential right now, especially as social media gets noisier and more confusing. So I want to give you a chance to really share about Million Dollar Guest. It'll be opening soon. We have the free training coming up. Who is it perfect for and why should people join us for the free training?
We just looked at all of our data, so this is— Which is so exciting. I'm like, who is it Perfect for it, actually. So we have obviously a big range of people. So I'll tell you who comes in, but I'll tell you who we have seen, like, just be able to fly through the program and already be getting results. And that's the person who's maybe been on one podcast already. They have a general idea of like, okay, I have an offer, I have something I can sell. That's why these people can fly is they've felt it. They've sat in the chair, they've gotten the interview. They've either gotten a great feeling, a not great feeling. They understand they need to tell some stories. They need to have—
Yeah.
Um, you know, the call to action, they need a great opening story, they need to know where they're going, they need to prep with the host, and they can see all of the things that they haven't done. They can see all of the things that they've done wrong. So when we have anywhere between 1 to 5, um, times that someone's been on a podcast, that's like our best customer, and they stay on the most, they do the most, they get the biggest results. Now we also have the people who've never been on a podcast. That's a huge part of our audience. And obviously that is, this is going to teach you every single thing that you need to know. But the person it's really, really best for is somebody who has an offer already, an idea of an offer. You don't have to have a funnel yet at all. You don't have to have a freebie. You don't have to have any of those things, but you do generally want something. Even if you have a book, this is insane. When you have a book, it's absolutely incredible. If you have a book, if you have a program, if you have a physical product, Essentially, because we work backwards from the big idea, that is the most powerful person that we see go through this, is if they have a big idea.
Even if you're close, because this is always what I used to say with previous cohorts of things I've launched, even if you're kind of like, ah, I'm back and forth, I think I want this to be my offer, getting in a container where you're inspired around what other people are offering, you never know where that can help you connect the dots that if you sat and waited 6 months to a year before you dive into something like this, you could already have an offer, be off and profiting from it.
A million percent.
So I almost look at it as, and not, not to generalize this, it's literally for everybody, but I can't yet think of someone who is either too early or too far along. Like I said, I have learned so much just sitting down for this series about where I'm just missing opportunities to serve people. That's essentially what it comes down to. Like, yes, we want people to make more money, And we know that you listening want to serve people in a bigger way.
Mm-hmm.
This is the way to do it, is learn these simple skills, learn how to create a formula, a framework, or follow the framework and formula that Lori has laid out so that you can turn these opportunities into sales.
Okay, let me tell you about one of my sponsors, Indeed. When I first started Glossy, I was elbow deep in everything, whether it was customer service emails or design or figuring out fulfillment. I didn't have systems yet. I didn't have a very big team. I just had me and way too many late nights. And I remember thinking, I don't need another generalist or someone that I have to train on everything that I don't fully understand yet. I need someone who's actually been running e-commerce or fulfillment, and I need someone who understands Shopify, who can catch this stuff before it's keeping me up until 11 PM at night. And That's a job for sponsored jobs. Here's the stat that really gets me. People are finding quality hires on Indeed right now. In the minute that I've been talking to you, companies like yours made 27 hires on Indeed according to Indeed data worldwide. 27 hires while you've been listening to me talk. That's sponsored jobs getting your posts seen instead of buried. Listeners of this podcast get a $75 sponsored job credit for premium status at indeed. Just go to indeed.com/podcast right now and say you heard about Indeed on this podcast. indeed.com/podcast. Terms and conditions apply. Need the right hire fast? Then this is a job for Indeed sponsored jobs. One thing I've learned from launching Glossy is that you can have an amazing product, but if you have a bad buying experience, your customers are gonna bounce. We use Shopify for Glossy, and one of the things that I love is that you don't have to be an e-commerce expert to get your store launched and start selling. Shopify gives you the tools to get up and running in a few simple steps so you can focus on your actual business instead of becoming a website developer overnight, which, let's face it, you have a lot more important things to focus on in order to sell your product. And once you're running, their mobile app makes my life so much easier because I can manage key parts of the store from wherever I am, including inventory, customer support, and payments. And if you know me, I'm rarely in one place all day long. If you've been sitting on a business idea, this is a really good time to stop sitting on it. Launching before Black Friday means you can take advantage of the extra online traffic when people are already shopping and ready to buy. If you're ready to launch your business before Black Friday, go to shopify.com/happy to start your free trial. You know, I, same thing. I don't wanna generalize and be like, it's for everyone, but we do have people, so In one of the weeks, it is week 3, we have profit week and we discuss all the modalities in which you should have something set up in order to profit. And a lot of the people who didn't have something yet, I always do Q&A at the end, always for about 20 to 30 minutes. And I haven't been able— I haven't not been able to get to anyone's question because what we do is Kaylee, through the whole thing, my brand coordinator, helps literally just facilitate all of those questions at the end and compile any that are the same, etc. So that we can make sure everybody's getting their answers or their questions answered. And so on Profit Week, that was actually our biggest question week because a lot of people just wanted some input on, do you think this is a good offer for when I'm on the podcast? In fact, I'm so glad that you brought this up because this is kind of one of the main objections in most people's heads is, what if I'm not super dialed in on my offer? You're not going to believe what you learn about offers, not only through my teaching, but listening to all the other people's offers that have been successful for them. And so what we're doing is we're just dialing it in. We're saying, you know, maybe, um, I would ditch that one for now. I would focus on this one. And we did that for a lot of people of, hey, that's a great offer, but maybe not the best on a podcast. So let's see which one you should focus on. So that is actually my biggest lift week. That's the one that takes the most out of me. Yeah. But I love it because it's the one that people are most confused on. And so they're gonna get really clear on what that looks like for a podcast.
Okay. So I actually haven't even asked this question.
Mm-hmm.
This is so exciting. Can you give us maybe just an overview, like week to week, what are the topics that are covered? Because that alone sounds like worth the price of admission, just that one session.
So we did the voting on all the different weeks. It's so funny. So week 1, and I believe week 1, week 2, and week 6. So I'll tell you about that. So week 6 only comes if you purchase on the live training that we're telling you about. So this technically is a 5-week accelerator, and I'll tell you what every single week is. But if you purchase on the live training that we're sending you to, you get the 6th week, which was, um, voted most valuable. That's what you said. Yeah.
And then I never asked you what was taught in that week.
That is podcast tour. That is Setting this up as your, as your actual profit machine, like the podcast flywheel. So it's the podcast tour. So week 1 is position, and this week is, it's probably the biggest content week because we're going through your messaging. We're going through why people haven't heard you yet. We are talking a little bit about your bio. We're talking about your pitch. So we are looking at that, like, what's the state of even what you're saying right now? Mm-hmm. And I go through so many examples. Of great messages and bad messages, and we tweak those, and then you have the worksheets on that. So week two is prepare, and this is where you are now essentially you're positioned. You've got your messaging. This is what you send to the podcast host. This is where we get all of your questions from and your stories. So we're literally creating the content that you are going to be sending to the podcast host to say. This is what we're going to be talking about. And then perform is where we learn how to tell those stories. And we want to make sure in perform that you're covering the bases of overcoming all of those objections, showing transformational stories, showing testimonial stories, showing emotional stories. And that's like, we cover the range of stories and saying, you know, where you should be grabbing those stories from. And then the next week is profit. And so that is really the big lift week that we were just talking about. We cover freebies, we cover, um, high ticket, we cover low ticket, we cover the strategies on all of those. We cover, does it go to the DMs or does it go to a freebie? We talk about nurture sequences. We talk about the entire gamut of how people can profit, whether you, even if you have a physical product, we talk about what that would look like for you as well. And then the 5th week is presence. And so this is what do you do with this podcast once it's out in the world?
Yeah.
And how are you showing up? Like, how are you making sure that this is really, really omnipresent? And we talk about what it means to be the omnipresent obvious expert and now how to take this podcast and make it look like you were just on a massive show, make it look like you get booked All of the time, make it look like you're a professional podcast guest, and we, we make your presence much bigger than it already is. So we're just going to take that and amplify everything that you're doing. And then that bonus week is the podcast tour, and that's where we turn this into a repeatable profit system. And so I can't give you all of the magic of that.
I was gonna say, I am shocked by how much we were able to cover in these 3 episodes, and also knowing that there is so much more depth that you can go into in the training. But then of course course within Million Dollar Guest. I mean, I'm not just saying this because I'm your friend, but I'm sold. It's really— I'm so grateful that you created it as a podcast host because I can see this starting to become the gold standard when people are pitching, especially if you're newer and maybe I just don't know you yet from the community. If you say, hey, I've been through Lori Harder's Million Dollar Guest, like, you know, I'm media trained for podcasts, that is a huge advantage for me, someone who's your personal friend. Seeing that in a pitch Immediately, I trust you more because I know you've learned from someone who I trust.
You know what's so crazy is I just feel like, thank you so much for that. You just gave me so many ideas. You know, I wanna, I want to carry this on to be something that truly becomes, um, I want to create million-dollar guests. I want people to be making millions of dollars in the next year or 2 years or 3 years, cuz it's already happening out there. There are already proven guests who are making this money. Just so you know, I use that data in the training that you can come and see. Um, which is so inspiring and so exciting. And what I really want to do with this is create just an entire system and training around, are you a masterful guest? Is there a rating system that we can look at of, yes, this guest was amazing. You should absolutely book this guest. They put in the work, they put in the time so that for podcast hosts, there can be a roster just like speakers. Because this is literally what happens in the speaking world. I would love to do this for podcast guests. Like, you want a podcast guest on storytelling? Do you want a podcast guest on, um, you know, motherhood, on, um, whatever, funnels?
Yeso bars.
Yeso bars. You guys, literally, I would love to create this database of people who have been trained that you know you're going to get an incredible podcast from.
Okay, so if you guys have hung in with us for all 3 episodes— gold star, 3 of them— you will already know there's a live training happening soon. We're going to link all the details in the show notes. Do we want to give people the date for that? Do you have them at the top of mind?
There's actually so many dates that I'm going to have you guys go because there's multiple times a day as well on those dates.
That's so helpful to know, especially if people are trying to work around schedules. So join the free training. There are bonuses if you already know you want to join Million Dollar Guests. There's bonuses if they join on the live training, like you said, that bonus week. And really, you could even just take the 3 conversations that we've had the last 3 weeks. We have taught you how to get booked, how to book become the podcast guest that everyone wants to have on their show, what to say so that you naturally set up the opportunity for people to take the next step with you, and then how to do that in an elegant way where you're not cringy or not salesy. It's really like you're making an offer that absolutely relieves a pain point for people, and they understand that, they see that, and they are jumping into your DMs asking how to work with you. So go back, really study these episodes, but if truly want to become masterful at this, the accelerator is the place to be. So look for Million Dollar Guest opening soon. Join us for the free training, and I cannot wait to receive my first Million Dollar Guest pitches.
I'm so excited. I actually can't wait. Like, I've been receiving the pitches from the media kit template.
Oh, that must be cool.
I'm like, oh my God, it's so cool. It's, it's amazing. Um, and I will say, if you're listening to this after the free training has passed, you can go to, um, Lindsay's Uh, show notes as well, and the media kit will be in there. And if you download the media kit, you will be on the list for the next one. And I run these— I run these quite frequently, so we'll just track it.
Yeah, there's been such a waitlist, especially as people are hearing about the results. So I cannot wait to jump into this next round. And thank you so much for all— you did so much prep. You literally walked your talk in getting ready for this series and just really crafting so much value for us. And I love you. Thank you so much for doing this.
Thank you for letting me practice and just share with your people. And I, I loved it. This was so good. I'm so excited.
Million Dollar Guess,
we are goooooo!
