Mark Ottobre talks to someone who naturally settles at 68 kg but wants to weigh less. He suggests aiming for 66 kg instead, arguing that a sustainable weight matters more than chasing a number that could hurt your mental health.
My body loves sitting at around 68, no matter what I do.
If you're around 66 kilos, that's kind of where you want to be.
Yeah, yeah, 65, 66. I don't like how I feel about myself now and how I'm avoiding mirrors and being uncomfortable and sitting on the couch.
The only thing that I'm going to flag with you here, I want you to also realize that 64 isn't better than 65, and that would be my worry. We set a goal and it's not, oh, now I need to lose another 5 kilos. Yeah. We need to go, okay, well, we want to be— this is our maintenance, this is where we want to get to, this is our optimal, this is our ideal, this is what results looks like. Because there's no point in achieving the dream body if it's a nightmare to maintain.
