Hey, in this video, I really want to talk about the three big changes that I made that really helped me implement everything I needed to in whatever business I was doing at the time. Because these three things are, as far as I'm concerned, universal. And they're more about actually how to get yourself to start working. Because when you get yourself to start working, usually you can maintain it. But I feel like for myself, at least over the last 12 years that I've been in business, just getting yourself to start is going to be the most important part. And I kind of consult or coach or whatever you want to call it with about 450 agency owners and B2B businesses per month. So it's the same thing for a lot of them. So I know that this is true. And as such, it's almost more important for me to talk about this kind of stuff than it is to talk about, you know, the ins and outs of what you need to do for your lead magnet, or the ins and outs of what you need to do for your appointment setting or anything else in the Thousand X leads funnel. So I think it's very valuable to talk about this stuff. And I think that as far as I'm concerned, there are three main things that are going to just get you to work faster, like get you started once you're working, that's kind of like a whole separate train of thought and video on its own. But just to get you to start working, I think there's a few things. So the first thing that I want to kind of talk about, let's just put up something here, is, you know, you're tracking your, let's say your three most important tasks. And let's fix this a bit because that looks about, you know, excessively large. So you're trying to do something like, good. So your three most important tasks. So for me, in a thousand X leads and like my business life in general, like these things are basically making a YouTube video. Let's go like this. Let's just narrow it down a bit. So making a YouTube video, Writing a thousand words for a book or a book that I'm writing about Legion, because that hopefully can change, like the game for me. And then the third one is Miro making three improvements to the product. So making three improvements to the product, which is thousand x leads, all that kind of stuff. So, like, you could argue for me, and I've thought about this a lot and also kind of tested it, that these are the three things that if I didn't do anything, but these Three things like nothing would be noticeably different. And they take, you know, a YouTube video like this one might take 15, 30 minutes, maybe an hour. Writing a thousand words for the book, I'm getting pretty good at it. So it takes 15, 30 minutes and then making three improvements maybe an hour. So if I take this in an hour and a half, in my opinion and from my experience that because I've kind of done some contrast here, if I didn't do anything besides these three things, like wouldn't really matter. So my thing that I went back and forth with for a while and struggled with because I don't think this stuff gets any easier just starting to work. There's mental blocks, there's mostly mental blocks, you could say like some spiritual blocks. If you have some super hard self limiting beliefs. I've done pretty well removing mine over the years, but everyone still has them, including myself. If you want to, you know, actually start working, you find these three things and then something that I made today and yesterday. And this isn't a good example of, you know, I'm not perfect. I talk about working so long on, you know, every video I make, but I, I'm not perfectly consistent either, so don't get that idea. But what I've done is like measuring the time and trying to reduce the time delay between when I wake up and when I do these things. So you'll see here that it took me 235 minutes after I woke up yesterday to basically get a YouTube video created. That's almost four hours. That's far from ideal where it's just, how can I do that as fast as I can after I wake up? Because I know if I do these three things, my mentality for the rest of the day will be more satisfied and better. So I think making a spreadsheet like this and just taking day by day, you know, doing your wake up time, whatever it is. I've been traveling here not to make excuses, but still. So you know, if you Woke up at 6, how can I get on the treadmill by 6:05pm or am within five minutes? Because if I'm on the treadmill I'm not falling asleep, I'm not going back to bed, I'm not screwing around, my brain is getting some nice, you know, neurochemicals, all that kind of stuff. And then how do I make for me, how do I get it so that I start writing the book within 30 minutes of waking up? And how do I make the mural board for my YouTube video if I'm making one within an hour of waking up. And then the YouTube, how do I get started that within an hour and 15 minutes of waking up instead of four hours? I've done this a lot before. I just started doing it again because I'm actually struggling with this at the moment. That's why I'm making this video. So I'm going to maybe make another video about this soon or include it and just kind of see like, because just the fact that you're tracking it and being more accountable, in my opinion and experience is going to make it so you are paying more attention to it. The second thing is, you know, I don't know how to word this, but I heard Jeff Bezos in an interview say one time, don't know the interview, can't remember. Maybe it was just a clip. Said like, said the obvious really. If you want to stop something from happening, increase friction. If you want to make some something happen more often, reduce friction. So reduce friction. This will tie into these three things here. If I, you know, basically because I've made this mistake, you know, like one of the classic mistakes people make, myself included, is you plan out 10 hours of work, you know, line by line, and then you say, Holy shit, that's 10 hours of work. And you don't even start because it's so overwhelming. So I've done this with these three things, in fact quite a bit. And I think like, what I'm trying to say here is it's worked a lot better than me saying I want to write 500 words for my book then. Or yeah, I'm kind of mix up the order here. It's worked a lot better for me saying that, you know, 500 words for the book instead of a thousand, instead of 2,000, instead of 5,000. I've set all of those targets for myself at one time or another. It's very much better to record one video per day instead of trying to record two videos or three videos a day so you can schedule them. It just takes a lot of friction away from it. And then instead of, you know, work on product for four hours, make three changes, right? Make three improvements. Or here that's even better. This is because make two small improvements. One large is actually what I do. And those small improvements could be, you know, there's always stuff you can improve about your product that really doesn't take that long. Takes like 2, 3, 3, maybe even 10 seconds to do, but you just never get around to it. Right. So I found that these things really reduce the friction a lot for me and made it easier to just start working. So between trying to track and reduce the time it takes to do your important tasks from when you wake up to when you actually do them, takes like two seconds to record this. By the way, it's not like a groundbreaking thing versus I used to have, let's try to copy and paste this correctly again. I used to have very bad results. Record three videos, write 5,000 words for the book, and then you know, like something like work on the product for four hours. That's when I had the worst results because it's kind of like, you know, reduce the friction. Just like that thing I said about Jeff Bezos. If you don't want it to happen, just make it impossible mentally for yourself. And there is an element of like, you just got to stop being a pussy and actually just work. But there also an element of like this stuff matters too. So it's just one of those things that really, really matters. The next thing that I've done that basically helps me to start working is, is kind of like, we'll call it accountability for here. But it's basically so I do a few things. So plan out four hours night before, just four hours. Again, planning out 10 hours is you're gonna have this big friction problem. Use a Google, use a timer and Google form to track work. And then what I've done here is the final one because I've talked about this before. So basically, you know, it's easy to work in 60 minute chunks. So if we take up my phone here and I've opened every app but the timer for fumbling the bag here, if I just set a timer here, let's. I don't know if you can see this and just train myself to sit there and work. Like then I know I am working. It's kind of like tracking this, but actual work. Then what I do is I have this tracker here and this is good by its by itself. So what did I do here? What hour and date, what did I do? What's my number one goal? Just to kind of get that auto suggestion and just remind myself what my goal is. And that was good on its own, but it even got better go forms, email notifications. So it even got a lot better when I. Yeah, I got this app here and I'm not an affiliate for this app. I really don't give a shit. Download it or don't, whatever. So basically when I submit this form, the way it's hooked up is you can send an email to X, Y and Z like whatever, whoever you want, saying that you completed the form. So I send it to my mother, my father, girlfriend, best friends, business partner, that kind of stuff. And you kind of train them to do it. So if they don't receive it, like especially your girlfriend or your mother, right? Or your wife is like, are you actually doing anything here? They're getting concerned and you don't want to do that to your mother or girlfriend or your wife. So. Email notifications upon submission there. And this kind of just like gets you going. It's kind of like when you're boyfriend or girlfriend is like a 10 out of 10 and you don't want to work out, but then you remember that they're a 10 out of 10 and you just get to the gym, right? It's kind of like that me where you know, you, your mother, your partner, everyone is counting on you and expecting it. So if the accountability is there and they're not seeing it like they're going to probably bring it up. And that really gets me working a lot. And it's good with your business partner, it's good with even your employees to prove that you're not just a big bad boss and you're actually doing something. It's good with your parents, anyone who depends on you and these three things together. So to recap, tracking the amount of time and trying to reduce it as much as possible for your three most important things, reducing the friction to get those three most important things and then some form of accountability for those three things. In my experience because I've tried a lot and I don't have any studies to back it up or I don't really give a shit about studies. My personal experience is going to convince me more. But these three things I think are the best option. They don't require any pills or any weird routines. I don't know if you are someone who can't get themselves to get started working. Like when you're into it, you're fine, but just even getting started is tough. Try these three things and let me know what you find. So thanks for watching.
