This is a YouTube video titled "Grief journey" containing a personal narrative or interview from October 21, 2023, discussing the speaker's deep grief experience after the loss of an infant daughter and reflections on empathy and how people treat others who are suffering. The content is reflective and authoritative in nature, focusing on emotional and social aspects of grief.
When I was so deep in my grief journey where, like, I literally would get lost in the grocery store and people would get annoyed with me, but I didn't even know where I was. Like, I was, like, blacked out. I don't even know how I was in there. And people would get annoyed. And I remember just crying in the grocery store and leaving. And I remember after that saying, wow, how would I have wanted to be treated? And if anybody in that grocery store knew that my infant daughter had died recently, they would have treated me very differently. And I've encountered that a lot in my grief journey. When people find out I'm a bereaved mom, they treat me differently. And a way in being which I try and live and embody and am committed to is let's treat everybody as if they are carrying a story. We have no idea what it is, because chances are they are.
