Samantha Jo Harvey describes working with business coach Melissa Dlugolecki to build a clear roadmap, fix her marketing, and shake imposter syndrome. She credits Melissa with helping her improve her client experience and grow her business.
I was constantly seeking the next client. I had no idea where the money was coming from. So I would get to the end of the month. I might have had a great month, but then I felt like I was starting back over from zero at the beginning of the next month. And that just kept me in a constant state of stress, of anxiety, and of like, what the fuck am I going to do? How am I going to make this actually a business? I never worked a 9 to 5, I was a professional dancer and I never had the systems, the organization. And I really feel like Melissa came in and was able to see my vision, narrow it down, and then support me in creating that roadmap and then go back and make sure that I was actually implementing things that would create results. I remember the first two to three months, it was rocky for me. I. We were learning each other. I was coming up against everything that wasn't working in my business and it was really humbling. And then there was a turning point where we got everything aligned. We got my vision aligned, we got my marketing aligns, my copy aligned, all of the pieces that I was doing in my world, between the podcast and Facebook page and Instagram and email marketing and current clients, there was a time when it all started to gel together. And I ended up having my biggest month ever, which was 50,000. It was an insane feeling because it was mapped out. It was actually like, yeah, this is exactly on track for everything that we created. And that was a brand new experience for me. Having the roadmap following through and taking the action, getting uncomfortable and stretchy, and having Melissa in my back pocket the entire time supported me in hitting the biggest month that my business has ever seen. I think the coolest thing about Melissa's process is that she's able to switch back and forth from business strategist to emotionally intelligent coach. So not only could she support me with the back end, with the behind the scenes, with the organization, with all of that, but. But she could also flip into the super compassionate, super caring and loving coach that could help me get out of my imposter syndrome, help me get out of my self judgment, help me get out of whatever blame shame stories I was experiencing, and really be able to support me in getting back to my vision, my goals and the actions that I needed to take. And I don't think that a lot of business coaches out there have that emotional intelligence piece like Melissa is a freaking ninja in that she can flex back and forth into whatever version of a coach I need so that my business is successful. I don't feel like it's like a coach and coachee relationship. She's literally a part of my team. And that feeling of having a partner in building the business is. Is really part of what makes me feel unstoppable. I also think that Melissa helped me find a big hole in my business where I didn't have this client experience. I knew how to support people one on one. I knew how to support people in group containers, but I didn't have a trajectory of how I was going to nurture them, how I was going to grow with them. I didn't have the opportunities for them to grow with me. So while I am incredible at what I do, I wasn't maximizing and I wasn't optimizing the relationships that I already had. And having Melissa's support allowed me to show up and not give a fuck to, like, the 10th degree. So my level of unfuck with ability has multiplied working with Melissa. And one of the biggest things I've learned is instead of me needing to do more, we're simply optimizing what I'm currently doing and making it more effective. And that has been huge in my business. We are going to have the biggest year that we've ever had in four years of building my business. And I am celebrating becoming this next version of myself, really becoming the businesswoman that I always knew was possible, but I didn't know how to become. And with Melissa's support, I feel like we're just getting started, and my brand and my business and my impact is going to be unstoppable.
