Melissa Dlugolecki argues that founders pulling ahead right now have two things in common: a strong brand (the associations customers have with you, not just your logo) and a dialed-in marketing funnel that captures and converts leads. Without both, you're wasting time and missing revenue.

Yeah, I predicted this a year ago and it's happening even faster than I expected. Brand is the biggest thing in 2026. I think it's been growing 2024, 2025. I think 2026 is going to be a differentiating factor. And I think second is gonna be dialed-in funnels. People just don't get brand isn't a font, it's not a color palette, it's not a photo shoot. People aren't paying you because of your font choice. Brand is what people associate you with and how they experience you. Your unique brand proposition is going to be what separates you from someone else. What you sell is going to be why your offer, who you be, how they experience you, what they associate you with is going to be why you. Your offer is why that, your brand is why you. Seeing it faster and faster. I mean, the founders getting their funnels dialed in, the entrepreneurs getting their funnels dialed in are the ones getting ahead. But if you don't have your funnel dialed in, you are literally going to be like on a hamster wheel running in circles, losing leads and not getting the most spend and time with clients that you could. I've literally watched this happen over and over since I called this like a year ago. Honestly, I think it's only getting more true. The brand and the funnel have to work together, and everyone has a brand and everyone has a funnel. It's just, is your brand working for you and is your funnel working for you? And if not, you gotta fix that. So it's the most important thing now, and it's only going to be sped up with AI and with time.
