Facilitators can't be neutral people, but they can be neutral about outcomes. You bring your opinions and energy to the room, but you don't get attached to what the group decides. Their decisions belong to them, not you.

Shall a facilitator be neutral? Well, the short answer is we are not robots. So can we actually be really neutral? And after all, what we are selling is not only the activities that we are doing and the content that we're providing, but it's our energy. So perfect neutrality doesn't exist. What we have to fulfill in our roles as facilitators, at least that's what I believe, is to be neutral towards the outcome and the output. So me as a facilitator, yes, I do have my opinions. Yes, I do have my biases. But every outcome and every result is the group's result and the group's outcome. And I'm not attached to any of that. And that's what I understand by neutrality of the facilitator.
