Who you invite makes or breaks a workshop. Include people with diverse skills and expertise, decision-makers who'll act on what you discuss, and assign each person a clear role. Without purpose, participants check out or derail the group.
Chapters
The outcomes of your workshop will only be as good as the people you invite to it. So step number 2 is a selection of participants. Think of how much diversity you actually need. What are the specific skills you need? Do you need subject matter experts? Who can challenge the status quo? And who's actually taking decisions afterwards? Because you might want to involve them in the process. And every person in the room, every person, needs to have a specific role. Because if we don't know why we are there, we'll get distracted, we'll zone out, and in the worst case, we'll even distract the entire group. So step number 2, make sure that you get the right people and that everyone has a role to make your workshops work.
