After interviewing 180 guests, the host stopped a recent interview because something felt wrong. Great conversations need four things: wonder that sparks curiosity, deep listening that makes it a real dialogue, no hierarchy between people, and co-creation where both generate ideas neither could alone.

What is it that makes a great conversation? One of those where the air seems to glow. I've interviewed 180 guests officially on the podcast and had so many conversations that I cannot even count them anymore. And recently I had to stop a podcast interview in the middle because I just didn't feel it. And this made me think, what is it that makes a great conversation? And I'm asking you. I came up with a few things. It's a sense of wonder. It's like a dance where we are really curious in what the other says and build on each other's ideas. There's a deep sense of listening, and it's talking with instead of talking to. There is no direct leader, no direct follower, and together we are building something that is bigger than us, and together we make us speak out thoughts that we haven't thought before.
